I had the displeasure of "eating" here on 21st December 2024. If it was possible to give a negative score I would have. Let me explain: Arrived just after 5pm and ordered soup and mains from the set main. £30 give or take a few pence. Both soup came out cold with a slice of cheap supermarket bread (a crusty roll would have been nice giving the price - but I digress) and no butter. I mentioned this to the waitress (who was pleasant to her credit, and apologetic) who offered to microwave it. I politely declined as it had clearly already been microwaved, that much was apparent. Drank the cold soup (notice I said drank and not ate) in anticipation of a main which surely could not a worse than the starter, or could it? I ordered steak (which carried a £6 excess) with a portion of onion rings and mash. Approximately half an hour later out came the mains, with a worrying lack of steam emitting from them. By lack I mean completely absence. The portion of onion rings totalled 1.5 miniscule offerings. Call me old fashioned but I was expecting at least 2 in a portion and to be bigger than £2 coins in circumference. I would have preferred to have received none and to be told they were out of stock. There was a portion of chips that had not been ordered and no mash, when I mentioned this of course it was on the way, but the length of time it took give me cause to doubt this. In any case it should all be served together, especially in light of the temperature control issues. . Maybe the flavour would make up for these oversights? Again how foolish of me to think such a thing! The steak was cold as stone, on a cold plate without a steak knife, mash or condiments. The steak was absolutely swimming in salt rendering it totally inedible. I managed one mouthful of the cold, salty monstrosity and gave up. I complained yet again and was offered to have it re-heated also. A radical idea might be to cook things to temperature in the first place instead of offering to reheat everything retrospectively. The steak was well done (medium requested) and might have been warm has it now been sat for half an hour after the soup cocktail. This was the least of my worries by now. I just wanted something warm and edible. I was out of luck on both fronts. The waitress was apologetic but given that there were only 7 customers and us 2 dining, I would hate to see how they would cope on a business evening. It became embarrassing having to call her over on at least 3 separate occasions. I managed one mouthful and gave up despite my ravenous hunger. It really should have come with a health warning, especially as my dining partner has to control his sodium intake. I complained yet again and was offered to have it heated up to which I declined as I had lost the will to live by then. The number of errors in such close proximity was a frankly hard to believe The "chef" then appeared only to accuse me of lying saying everything was hot as it left the kitchen. He put his hand on the peppered steak jug which was hot and that was good enough for him as evidence of a piping hot banquet. I notice he would not touch the cold plate despite me asking him to do so several times. He just kept repeating the same tired line that it was hot when leaving the kitchen. I know touching a patron's plate can present H&S issues but it was obviously I was not eating is by then. I don't know which kitchen he was referring too but given the fact that nobody in the establishment knew how to switch on the bathroom lights, it would make you wonder. To his credit he had developed a ground-breaking new food preparation technique where food could be served piping hot on cold plates, without any steam. It defies even science. I wouldn't bother patenting it as I get the feeling demand will be minimal. I don't think Heston Blumenthal will quaking in his boots. 2 onlookers stood in amazement at the adjacent table as the chef stood and argued the food temperature with me, highly unprofessional. I went outside before I said "something I regret". The onlooker came outside for a chat and to express his complete and utter disbelief at what he has just witnessed. Himself, and his partner who had come to eat changed their minds after the Fawtly Towers-esque experience I had just be subjected to which they fortunately for then, overheard. I turn 44 years olds in 2 weeks and this was without question, amongst the worst dining experiences I have ever had, in this country or abroad. The fact that after having my honesty called into question that the establishment then had the audacity to charge full price was shocking. Bad food is one thing, but being spoken to like an idiot by someone 20 years by junior, masquerading as a chef is completely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the type of establishment it’s set to become. I hope management read this review and take urgent action about this maverick attitude to hospitality. I wouldn't bring my dog to eat there and the fact that we were expected to pay full price for something that had not been eaten was shameful. I did not come wanting a free lunch which is how I was made feel. I would understand if I had complained after eating it but the steak was almost completely untouched. With so many good restaurant struggling to survive it was a truly sickening experience.

Called in there today for evening tea. Wasn’t sure about calling to be honest but glad I did. The staff was friendly and prompt, there was a good crowd there and looked like the food was going down well, I went for the chicken and bacon caesar salad, My wife and kids went for the vegetable soup. My salad was fantastic and I loved it, the soups went down well with the kids and my wife and all plates were cleaned. My wife and I had the turkey and ham dinners and it was mouth watering nice and hot and as like the starters we had clean plates at the end. The kids went for chicken nuggets and chips and they loved it too. When we went to pay the bill I have to say it was very reasonable and as I said before with such brilliant staff too we will definitely be back again. I highly recommend this place for food.

Stopped here yesterday with my other half as we had time to kill before checking into out hotel. It looks shabby from outside and we werent even sure if it was open. It was packed inside but we got a table within 5mins. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Interior is quite dated and dark and menu was verg limited with about 5 choices but all we wanted was a Sunday dinner so as long as it was on menu we didnt mind. We couldnt fault the food...wasnt the best sunday dinner ive had but it was delicious and both plates were cleared. Food was reasonably priced as well.

I visited the Village Inn on Easter Sunday with my family and in laws. They had limited food on the menu actually available. Dinner was bland, and Lukewarm. Ceaser salad was basically a big plate of browned lettuce, a few shaving of carrot, chicken, fatty bits of bacon and dressing. Then the desert!... I ordered lemon meringue. It appeared to be as a lemon meringue showed look. But when I tasted it, it was revolting. The only way I can describe the taste was goosefat and Cif. I got my mother in law to try it and she almost vomited. So, on the way back from taking my son to the toilet, I discreetly told the bar man that something is off in the meringue as it tasted bad. He got very defensive and said “I highly doubt that as it was only made this morning” I never complain about food but to be made out a liar when I do speak up, I was taken aback by how rude he was. Won’t be back and I’ll be warning any friends visiting Enniskillen to stay away!

Took my Son for a meal before he leaves for Uni. The place was sadly empty but barman very pleasant and good quick service. Food was very good. Both had Sirloin Steak cooked perfectly with onion rings, mushrooms, chips, mash and pepper sauce. Just lacked a bit of atmosphere.

We stopped here on our way home from a long weekend in Westport and had been driving for 3 hours so this was our last stop before home and I’d say like others this is your first and last stop in N Ireland for food. The large restaurant was empty besides one other group of 6. Tables were not clean and the whole place could do with a spruce up in general. Lasagna and chips firstly was poor with no flavour and not very appealing even to start with. The Caesar Salad was even worse. Some lettuce threw on a plate with a red pepper ring, carrot shavings, chicken and a small amount of sliced bacon then a long swirl of some kind of dressing. If I was in a truck stop, ok I couldn’t live with it but when we decided to just call it a day and leave hoping we may be asked was your meal ok and add some comments we were not even asked. Just payed £20.00 and left and will never return. I would say this would be the norm as return custom would be scarce.

Disappointed from start to finish. As husband was getting 'hangry' we decided to stop here for food while on route to Monaghan. The outside of the premises didn't appeal to me but sometimes you can't judge book by cover. Well....I should have.... Place inside lacked life...it was dark, dreary, tired looking....mismatched chairs and tables. Whole decor needs a good facelift. I was sitting on a sofa seat that was so worn and grubby and dirty looking I thought I'd stick to it. Toilets were clean which I was surprised at. As it was after 4pm, the Sunday carvery was over but they had a menu. I ordered the roast chicken and husband the fish and chips. We asked for a portion of chips and to my delight she said they are provided to the table anyways - so I said this will redeem the look of the place! And when I seen the size of the portion of chips that came to a neighbouring table I was delighted! Then came the food....I definitely was not happy with my food which my partner knew - he has only seen me quiet a few times and this was one of them. I have cooked nicer roast chickens myself. Meat did not fall from the bone. Came with 2 scoops of mash which I ate and the chips. The portion of chips that came to our table was nearly half the size of the portion the neighbouring table got. Also came with carrots and parsnips which were mashed together which reminded me of what my mother did when I was a child to try and disguise the parsnips which never work...and there was cabbage which I do like....but looked like it was mashed with brocolli?! Therefore didn't eat much of the veg....The pepper sauce on the chicken looked like gravy with peppercorns and wasn't the usual taste of pepper sauce..... My partner got the fish and chips which he ate. He gave his meal a 4 out of 10. It tasted reheated. He asked for extra mash which he got quickly and we were not charged for. We also asked for ketchup for the chips - and we got a bottle of sauce delivered to table. Price wise, it was cheap. Too cheap. Everything about this was cheap. It was below average "pub grub". 2 stars is even being generous.

Went here with 3 of my friends, staff was so unfriendly except for one lad working.we sat down at a table they told us there would be a wait of 15 minutes which we didnt mind. They took our order, then started moving tables around, we could clearly get the feeling we were unwanted because we sat at a table they needed for a party that was coming in. At no point did they ask us to move which we would not have minded. Nor did it ssy reserved on it. Soup was rotten, sunday lunch was reheated horrible dinner, i would never visit here again!

Came here today with my family (approx. 16 of us), we were greeted and shown to our table immediately, staff checked in every now and then for everyone to arrive so they could take our drinks order. Everyone ordered a variety of food, all of which tasted absolutely delicious! Good, manageable portions for a very reasonable price. Staff were very attentive, checked in on us often to ensure everything was alright for us and if we needed anything else. Food came out in good time as well, waiting staff were very polite and they looked like they enjoyed their job too which was nice to see! Lovely meal, thankyou. Will be back. :)

Always stop off here for a quick beer when visiting. Friendly staff, decent pint and always a seat available. Can't comment on the food as we've never eaten here but it does look adequate for the prices charged.

There was no music and the staff aren't overly friendly. The foods not great and the Guinness was warm. The chicken goujons were straight out of Iceland frozen foods and the Sunday carvery tasted like it was reheated in the microwave.

Ventured in here for first time in years after a terrible experience before. Unfortunately I met the boss and alas nothing has changed … all is well and good until you raise a query.. then I was treated very poorly and aggressively. All I wanted was a coffee and when I checked about the milk being used I was made to feel like an idiot for asking…. Never again

Bad experience, unpleasant and expeditious boss, be careful with the change given in pounds, I got cheated by 9 euros on the bill. I do not recommend it to tourists.
