My boyfriend and I came here for dinner during a 2 night stay at Lough Erne. We had the 5 course menu and the food was absolutely fabulous, one of the best meals I have eaten. The meat was cooked to perfection extremely tender, each dish was paired with plenty of delicious and well matched flavours to accompany the dish. The selection of wine was fantastic. The service was brilliant and I thought each dish to come out for serving was timed really well. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the Enniskillen area.

A previous dining experience here 2 years ago was forgettable, with underwhelming food and over whelming pretension. So it's fair to say I feared the worst as we took our seats on a Fateful Easter Sunday a few weeks ago. Service happened at a snails pace. I felt sorry for the young and inexperienced staff. Clearly understaffed and a kitchen meltdown was in full swing. And why are they forced to wear those awful white gloves!? A below average 3 course meal was trickled out over 2.5 hours. A thimble of Soup for starters. Dry hunk of beef for main. And a sticky toffee pudding that was so hard you could have driven it 300 yards off a tee on the back 9. Overpriced for the quality of food. The Tap House and Kilyhevlin are streets ahead. Take stock and look inward Catalina management.

Food quality was good but little disappointed. Duck was overcooked so I couldn’t cut through. I was too hungry so I really wanted to finish it but there was no taste of it. Other courses were very nice but small portion. Took over an hour to get desserts. We were too hungry just sitting there. We asked more drinks but it was also forgotten. Later on, staff says that it’s not available. Maybe too much expectation for five star hotel restaurant. Not sure I would come back.

We visited the resort for “Afternoon Tea” on 8/10/22 for our 6th Wedding Anniversary. To say that the experience was terrible would be an understatement. When we arrived at the restaurant we had wait at the main reception area for at least ten minutes before being seated. When we finally were seated, we were seated behind a large pillar, beside a wall. When the waitress arrived to take order, she brought two cups of tea without any milk, and both of the pots of tea leaked all over the white table cloth. We had to ask the staff TWICE for some milk and new pots of tea that didn’t leak. The afternoon tea we ordered took over 45 minutes to arrive. When it finally arrived it looked like something that had been severely rushed. Slanted desserts, unfinished etc. When you go to a 5* resort for afternoon tea you expect the food and patisserie to be outstanding. This was basic at best. We were served a Victoria sponge cake that was piped extremely poorly and it wasn’t cut straight. We received the end cuttings of the cake as well. The patisserie was basic and bland, even the shortbread was soggy. We ended up not finishing the food, and left extremely disappointed. We have had “Afternoon Tea” at this resort many times in the past and it was fantastic. However this experience was so terrible, I really don’t think I would want to go back to the hotel to eat or stay. Extremely disappointing for a 5* resort.

What a gastronomic delight! Dinner in The Catalina Restaurant at the beautiful Lough Erne Resort, was on a whole other level. Delicious food, wonderful flavour combinations, delightful presentation, welcoming ambiance and a spectacular view over the lough. Every element of our meal, which began with Smoked Eel, through to starters of Kilkeel Scallops with an Irish Oyster, mains of Lisdergan Beef and Cured Irish Lamb and finishing with desserts of Rhubarb Panna Cotta accompanied by a Rhubarb Sorbet, was superbly presented and came with a detailed description of each of the elements on our plate. Simply superb. This was a restaurant we chose to celebrate a very special occasion and we were not disappointed. It was by far, one of the finest meals we have ever enjoyed. Fine dining at it's best, yes it comes at a price, but this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Wine by the glass was varied and delicious. On our second night we ate in the Loughside Bar - v v sorry we didnt go back to the Catalina!! Visited the Catalina Restaurant at the beautiful Lough Erne Resort with friends for a catch up and a culinary experience of the highest quality. Met by Restaurant Manager Chris on arrival and shown to a beautifully presented Table in the Restaurant. Location was very busy with Diners and the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming all round. A new Dinner Menu was presented to us along with a very extensive Wine List. The Menu had a Paired Wine option which was very informative and assisted greatly to our overall experience. The service from Manager Chris and his team was excellent. With each element of the Menu explained in detail we were treated to an unforgettable culinary pleasure from start to finish. The delivery of each element of this Menu was superb from the first taste experience of eel through to the option starters of Pigeon, Game,Halibut and Scallop. The Main course choices were beautifully described with the Venison and Beef being the preferred choices for the company. Each dish was presented to the Table with a full explanation of each element in detail and the quality was superb. The accompanying wine was outstanding. We finished off with the Soufflé, Panna Cotta and Chocolate Desserts. Simply delightful. Executive Chef Mark paid a visit to our Table for a chat and feedback. This was a lovely touch and we all agreed that this was the best culinary experience that we could have had. The Catalina Restaurant is an award winning location and for a very special occasion there is definitely no better place to visit. Pre booking is a necessity and outstanding food comes at a price. A fantastic location in a beautiful Hotel.

A very disappointing and costly stay. Lough Erne has 5 star views of the lake and that's about it. The food at the Catalina Restaurant is sub standard. I almost cracked a tooth after biting down on a duck bone in my duck salad starter. My medium rare sirloin steak was actually raw all the way through and had to be returned. The accompanying sides that came with the main meal were sloppy and bland. What was meant to be a relaxing and stress free break for my mum and I resulted in our room being directly above a noisy marquee and noisy music from the Blaney Bar. The deputy manager (Helen McCune) was very understanding, professional and helpful. We eventually ended up in a lodge and thanks to Gordon and Helen they escorted us there by which time my mum and I were both weary and deflated. We were glad to get home the following day. I believe the hotel and the Catalina Restaurant are over rated. Not the standard we expect from a five star hotel. There is much room for improvement.

We have been to the Catalina restaurant a few times last year, and enjoyed the tasting menu on those occasions. This time we booked a regular dinner for 6.30pm on 24/7/19. We were 3 people and arrived on time. There were only 2 or 3 other tables taken in the restaurant. However we were shown to a table and seated in a very abrupt fashion by the woman Maitre D who was in such a rush that she handed me the menu upside down (she didn't even notice). This was not a good start. We ordered dinner from a different server who was very pleasant, together with 2 glasses of sparkling wine and a bottle of wine. We then made the mistake of asking for tap water - the smell of chlorine was horrible. 2 of us ordered the ravioli starter and when it arrived the Maitre D appeared again. This time she sloshed most of the small jug of lobster bisque over my ravioli, instead of pouring carefully around it. My companion got the last dregs of the bisque thrown on top of his starter too. Oh well, never mind I thought, it should taste nice anyway. But sadly not. The pasta was most unpleasant, stodgy, too thickly rolled, and undercooked. My duck main course was tasty but it was served in 2 solid pieces which I thought would be pink and juicy but sadly not. The Chocolate delice was a nice desert. The bill for 3 people with 2 glasses of sparkling wine and 1 bottle of wine was in excess of 230 pounds. This included the service charge as well as a cover charge per person for bread and water. A pretty disappointing experience all round.

We booked a meal in the Catalina Restaurant ten days ahead as this was to be a special family reunion we requested a window seat and this was duly noted. On 4th June we arrived in great spirits and anticipating giving our guests a memorable evening having heard good reviews. After a lack lustre response from the staff in the bar who had to be alerted that no-one had come to take our meal order after half an hour we were still buoyant. On entering the restaurant I observed that all the window seats were occupied and I was told by our server for the evening, the Restaurant Manager Nicola, of all people, that it was “ first come, first served”. Hardly terminology to make you anticipate a warm welcome? We were then informed that there was no Quail left on the menu. Now this was a Monday evening and there were only a few tables occupied. From there the experience was to go rapidly down hill despite our best efforts to remain upbeat. We were very aware of the comings and goings of this staff member whose pointedly noisy removal of cutlery, glasses and general sullen service became an embarrassment. At one point the waiter with our Starter course had to return to the kitchen while the plates of the complimentary course were removed. On another occasion the waitress asked was everything alright. But our guest was astonished to observe that waitress was already out of earshot to hear her reply. And when she politely asked if she could try a little of the eel starter it was as if she hadn’t spoken! The food portions were very meagre and having dined here before we noticed they were even smaller than usual. While in the main the food tasted good many of the flavours of ginger or rhubarb went unnoticed. Apparently the chef was not available on the night. We decided that we would not have desserts because the poor service was so dominating the evening. So we aborted and asked for the bill. My husband complained at the desk directly to the person that the service was very poor and the surcharge was removed. On walking out we were chased down the hall by an anxious waiter from the bar where we first had our pre meal drinks. He was calling out..the bill, the bill! My husband took him aside and learned that the drinks bill had not been added to the restaurant bill! He was very upset to have been humiliated this way and went back to the same Restaurant Manager again! She apologised that it was her fault and that in error the drinks bill had not been added.

Appalling behaviour and service from senior staff. No professionalism from bar staff or waiting staff (a manager) on our visit. Not up to standard for a 5* Luxury resort. Embarrassing for guests to witness and a complete waste of over £200. People look forward to dining occasions such as this and to have been subjected to a scowling rude waitress was unprofessional and unfathomable. It baffles me as to how it is acceptable for a ‘luxury’ resort with supposed exceptional standards can have grossly underperforming staff.

We stayed in the Lough Erne Resort and had a 3 course meal in the Catalina Restaurant. I had crab for starters, duck for mains and a blackberry soufflé for dessert. The food was presented beautifully and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had pork belly, venison and a white chocolate parfait and loved each course. The service was second to none. The staff were so friendly and professional and made our experience more enjoyable. The wine was also lovely! Would definitely recommend!

Had dinner here Sunday evening. Dylan was the friendliest most efficient young man, very well mannered, polite and very attentive without being intrusive. He explained the dishes exceptionally well. There was another young girl called Lou, also very friendly.

The evening meal was a delightful tasty and leisurely affair which suited us fine. I really enjoyed the use of local food and the chef who made the mashed potatoes deserves a raise and my better half loved the ice-cream.

This is the main restaurant for the resort so we dined and breakfasted there, superb. Breakfast, a la carte had to be seen to be believed.

Sunday lunch with family recently. I would have given an excellent rating apart from the actions of a bar waitress. Arriving early for lunch, we sat down and were approached by a bar waitress for our order. Two of us had chosen our drinks but my wife was hesitant in making up her mind. The bar waitress left us and went off to talk to the barman with her back to us. I had to wait until she had turned around some 3 minutes later before I could give her the outstanding drink to fulfil our order. Unbecoming of a 5 star establishment! However, the remainder of our experience was superb. The Catalina Restaurant was delightfully lit with wall mirrors to enhance the décor. White table cloths and serviettes added to the fine dining experience. 2 course Sunday lunch was £22.50 and £28.50 for the 3 course option. 10% gratuity was added to the total bill. We chose the Sirloin of Irish Beef with Yorkshire pudding, champ mash, roast potatoes, and vegetables. The desserts were excellent and not only tasty but pleasing to the eye. The restaurant was packed but service was prompt and the waiters and waitress were polite and courteous. Well worth the trip.

This is not my usual type of restaurant but dinner here was included in a voucher I was given. For me this was a real experience. I've only seen food & service like this on tv! I had crab for starter, beef for main, the most amazing chocolate dessert with the nicest glass of merlot I've ever tasted. These all came with little accompliments to finish the courses off. I was out of my comfort zone here but the meal & staff were out of the world! I'd definitely recommend here if it's within your budget.

Bad experience last night. I had the crab and the "signature dish". I've never had such dry pork in my life. If this is the signature... served out of a microwave. My wife's duck was also dry. Wrong wines were served with the food (I never saw a bottle...). The white wine was warm. My plate was broken. The bread was ok, but not the type of bread you serve with olive oil.The Michelin star is far far far away. MacDonalds has a bigger chance to reach this stadium.Resume: the UK has no food culture... Nice you guys love this fantastic restaurant.

My wife and I dined her over a St Valentine's Day break and had a superb meal and service that was second to none. We arrived at our due time and were quickly shown to our table, the server introduced herself, explained what the special of the day was and after giving us some menus left us alone for a few minutes to make our selections. When she returned she asked if we needed more time and did not pressure us into making any rash decisions, she took our wine order and on returning with the wine took our order. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and thought it was beautiful, I against my better judgement opted for the Kilkeel crab dish and found it a little underwhelming, this was purely my fault as I am not a great lover of seafood but was trying to be adventurous. It looked delicious and I am sure that those with a taste for seafood would have found it superb. For her main my wife had the hake, pan fried with Tarogan oil and said it was fantastic, I returned to my usual and had the fillet steak which was to die for, cooked exactly as ordered and served with root vegetables. For dessert we both had the Chocolate Delice and it was delicious. Overall the meal was soperb anf the service outstanding. We will certainly return in the near future.

We booked a resort break with our family for New years eve. As part of our package we delighted in the tasting menu which was delightful. From start to finish each course was cooked to perfection by Noel and his team. There was just enough to satisfy all our appetites. The service we received was excellent as always and if anything my only minor complaint would be if anything they could have afforded to allow a little more time between courses.

A really quality place to eat. The portion size was perfect for us and we managed three courses. It's was pleasant to be asked we we would like extra bread or vegetables as this doesn't happen at some 5 star places . Good value for money as is the Blaney bar

Really enjoyed my meal last night here. The service is absolutely exceptional and the food was to die for! The executive chef went around all the tables after service to receive feedback - lovely touch. I had the crab to start and duck for mains. Best duck I've ever had. Highly recommend.Top class food! Top call service! Worth every penny.

Myself and theweebuns treated ourselves to a date night here and the reason I'm giving this 5/5 is because of the flavours from the food. The atmosphere was a bit stale however we were distracted by a wee amuse-bouche and breads. The curry bread was delicious literally brought back a childhood memory's which was awesome! Kudos to the chefs for a flavourful night

We arrived at Lough Erne after a long overseas journey and decided to eat at the hotel because we were tired and unfamiliar with the area. This was an excellent choice. The food was excellent. I had perfectly prepared duck and my husband had very nice pork. Service was friendly and thoughtful. We had breakfast there the next morning and it was equally good. Full marks all around.

I ate here about 2 weeks ago with my wife. I can't fault the food on taste, all was very nice. However, the portion sizes are extremely small. I had the quail (tiny bird!) starter which was so small, they must have gotten 10 portions from 1 bird. The supplements are also quite annoying, considering it's quite a hefty charge @ £45 for 3 courses + 10% gratuity for 'convenience'. At most other restaurants, this gratuity is usually only applied when there are large parties dining. I had the lamb for main, which was very nice, but I don't see why it incurs a £6 supplement. It's not for some rare caviar imported from Russia - it's just lamb, there's loads of the little feckers around the country! Similarly, the cheeseboard was an extra £6 when taken in lieu of dessert. There's not much in the way of sides offered with the mains - a bit of mash and some carrots. It's a lovely dining room, staff are very pleasant and the food is tasty, though not out of this world. I just think it's overpriced. It needs to up it's game to justify the price. McNean's is a just a little more expensive, but I'd rather pay that as it's worth it.

A lovely café that's well worth a visit, if you can get a seat! We visited on a Saturday morning, arriving minutes after opening time, and most tables were already occupied. While it opens at 8.30am, the kitchen doesn't open until 9am, a strange setup that means your hot drink is cold or consumed by the time you're even ordering food. The menu has plenty of options without being overwhelming. Some in our group had sausage and bacon butties, which were good. Another ordered the BRAT bagel, but found that there was far too much mayonnaise, making it unpleasant to eat. I had the pancake "stack" with bacon which was disappointing; two pancakes does not a stack make. The hot chocolate was apparently gorgeous. There's a pleasant buzz around the café, staff are welcoming and attentive, and it's fairly comfortable, if a little cosy. There is a disabled bathroom with baby changing facilities. I'd recommend The Bees Knees, but perhaps not the bagel or the pancakes.
