Village Fish & Chip Shop in Wirral

Big mistake going to this chippy, food was expensive and substandard. Would not recommend, to top things off the owner was one of the most obnoxious people I have ever had the misfortune of speaking to. Don’t know how it’s got a 5 star cleanliness review either , stunk , my advise is to avoid, River Queen over the road is much better.

No prices displayed should have been a red flag. Small chips with a tiny bit of gravy £3.50. Rip off

The one one with least chips the village, the other one is from the river queen, big difference and charged the full price for a handful of chips. Shocking, won't be going there ever again, don't give me substandard food and charge me full price. If you can't deliver the full order don't charge me for the full price, shocking service 😑

This has to be THE BEST place ever! Their chicken fried rice has got to be the best I’ve found on Wirral . We travel from Tranmere to Wallasey just for their food because it’s exceptional !

Good food and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They didn't have the chowmein noodles because we had gone so close to closing but the lady suggested rice noodle with it instead and it was really nice.

Staff here are always so lovely, been going there for years. I love the quality of their food and their price is fair. I always go for birthday meals etc. Very good.

Very small portions of tasteless badly cooked cold food, hardly any meat in both meals, and in my opinion expensive, won't be going there again.

The food is always average or slightly above. Quite expensive for a local takeaway.

Just recently moved from Liverpool, this is the nicest chippy over here!! Fab food, always piping hot generous portions and always good with timing! We order from here all the time, can't fault it at all! Lovely staff too, if your looking for good Chinese food on the wirral don't hesitate to come here, best food - speaks for itself the shop is always busy ❤️ thank you x

Fish was floury,only a tiny piece,know it was a mini Fish dinner,but it was like a chunky Fish finger,put gravy on Fish without asking,Peking special was a bit watery with not a lot of meat,service was friendly

I always try and stay positive when doing a review. I will say that this place is certainly... value for money. Fish didn't taste like cod. More likely the cod family. Peas were not mushy. Chips were undercooked and frankly not great. Portion sizes were moderate. Perhaps I'm spoilt for choice where I come from and have some outstanding chip shops that I think are average and thus have set the bar of expectations too high. Not the place to go for fish and chips to then sit by the sea with. Selection of fish and chip items is limited, didn't know what roe was and we ended up with a batch. That's a cob or roll to us southerners. Chinese menu is vast, seems like they are trying to cater to everyone and also offer a myriad of English meals. Jack of all trades and master of none springs to mind. Place was clean and tidy, fish cooked well, staff friendly and pleasant and the food was great value for money. But nothing to write home about. And when you are as fat as me, eating value for money is superceded by quality.

Proper old fashioned Chinese take away and fish and chip shop. The lady behind the counter was quick and efficient and the portions of fish and chips were generous all at a good price.

Never really had a problem with this chip shop until tonight. I always come here with my mother and children and staff have always been lovely and friendly which is why i came here. Tonight though I came in to order fish and chips and had an exemption card from NHS as I have only one lung. A member of Male staff came out and started shouting at me and being aggressive telling me to get outside as he had to think of his other customers. I understood where he was coming from and explained I had an exemption card and that i had one lung which is why I couldn't wear a mask but he continued, telling me I had walked in with an attitude????? What an idiot I will NEVER use this shop again.

After weeks of shutdown and an opportunity to enjoy a takeaway, we had the misfortune of wasting money at this establishment. To the takeaway: if you can’t be bothered to cook authentic Chinese food, don’t bother at all, shut your business down. To the public: Don’t waste your money here.

Highly recommend, have been coming to this chippy since I was young. They really do summon up the best chow mein around, hands down, one portion could feed 2 with leftovers! Great prices and great service.. Again, highly reccomend!

Excellent Chinese takeaway food, consistently good chips and nice staff. One if the best chippys in the area in my opinion.

Started using this chippy as we moved to the area. Firstly got chips and gravy nice ,so went back and ordered food for family got ribbs more cartlidge than meat awful, chicken curry vile cold chicken was worst than then pound chicken from Iceland. Chips 're,heatered. Crispy duck wasn't Evan shreddeed had to do it urself just lazy prep.worst chippy I've been to in 20 years.
