The food was pretty tasty and the atmosphere ok but I didn’t like the garlic potatoes you could easily broke your teeth into ,and also the fact that they are serving fizzy drinks probably from 2L bottles, I ordered 1 Coke and was absolutely FLAT the service was very good and the guys inside very friendly Probably I won’t be back myself

First visit to Villa Italia (Northern Ireland in general) and it was brilliant. In what was a busy service around 8pm-ish, the restaurant was buzzing, and the atmosphere was friendly, family orientated. Me and my partner went straight into mains with a pizza each, both of which were superb, and great value too. On a first trip to Belfast, if we are to come back we'll definitely be back at Villa Italia, service was fantastic, and staff were very attentive 🇮🇹

Great long standing restaurant in Belfast, easy to see why it's been open for so long. Fantastic for large groups, birthday parties or work nights out etc. Quality food. Only thing that's missing is draught beer.

Solía ir mucho. Pero cuanto más visitamos varias regiones de Italia visitamos villa italiana menos Decidimos intentarlo No sorprendió que tuviera morsetti de pollo para empezar. Bueno, pero tenía mortadela para el plato principal no creo que tenía cebolla. No es genial sé que nunca mezclan la pasta con salsa pero no me gustó. El vino tinto sabía bien Tal vez mi gusto pero he probado lingüini bolognaise por toda Italia. Y lo he hecho yo mismo. No sé cómo sobreviven. Con tal comida No volveré

So today my family and I celebrated my son’s birthday at Villa Italia . My first time here . I was blown away by the service . The staff were so pleasant , so welcoming and so efficient. The food was amazing . The whole atmosphere was beautiful . ThAnkyou so much for making our wee afternoon wonderful . Will definitely be back . X

I haven't been in years and have fond memories but as my palette has widened and I've explored better restaurants, the experience today didn't live up to memory. It was absolutely packed - 3 floors of noise made it hard to enjoy our meal together socially. The food was just ok. Best thing we had were the meatballs & mushrooms. Everything else had to be heavily salted and seasoned with parmesan. Seafood linguine included frozen calamari and mussels, sauce was tasteless. Crepes were drowned in bottled fake sauces. White wine served in warm wine glasses. The staff were absolutely lovely though, really on the ball with service. Plenty of staff on too.

We visited on a wet Tuesday night and the restaurant was busy with primarily locals plus us tourists. Despite this, the service was spot on and the food was great. We had tiger prawns and bruchetta to start, very simple but very tasty. Followed by Carbonara and Sea Bass. A lovely family restaurant with fantastic food and service

Family of 4, visiting from London. Stumbled here by chance. Service from Nisha was superb - attentive and accommodating. One of our children has food allergies and Nisha ensured he was catered for cautiously. Food was delicious and portions were generous. Price very reasonable.

Extremely sub-par Italian food. Ok service. Decor sets it apart, but it’s like a cheap replica when you look close. Not sure how this made it to TripAdvisor top10 for Belfast, but you’re better off at the local pub. We got the picante pizza, which wasn’t spicy like a diavolo should be, a pepperoni pizza but the pepperoni was more like hot dog slices, a carbonara that was comparable to pre-made Tesco, and a grilled sea bass that was ok, but there’s seriously way better elsewhere.

El restaurante estaba ocupado, así que sin duda es recomendable reservar. Nuestra camarera era genial, muy agradable de hecho. Food was alright, poor vegetarian selection. Our server wasn't particularly helpful, engaging or interested. Trying to make eye contact with any waiting staff was a challenge , a long wait for plates to be cleared and the bill. Bar staff spilt drinks across our daughters place setting, without cleaning or apologising . Service all round left alot to be desired . Sorry, to have to leave such a candid review. A poor choice on our part to celebrate our sons 11th birthday .

Nice place for a wee date or friends' get together. The food was nice and on point with taste, with pretty good portion. I tried a pollo pizza and salmone pasta which was amazing! Totally loved everything.

A bustling vibrant place that had a great vibe. We were a party of 3 people and hoped we could be accommodated as walk-in customers. There was a wait of only a few minutes and we were seated and served quickly. The food menu was plentiful and we were really spoilt for choice and everything sounded delicious. We had spaghetti bolognaise and chicken in sauce with vegetables and garlic potatoes. I struggled to eat it all but manged it! Thanks for the hospitality, I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

The service in this place has gone down we ha Lasagn and the cheese was all burnt , as far as I could see it was to get you in and out as soon as possible.

While waiting to be seated another party arrived and we were told (not asked) by a young lady to step aside! Very rude! I am disabled and use crutches to aid me in walking and the space between tables were quite narrow! Our table was upstairs ( I don't know if my husband relayed the mobility information when booking) but I was told there was a lift or we could wait 5 minutes on a downstairs table, I was fine with the lift only to realise it was a service not a customer lift which wasn't the cleanest and had food residue on the floor! Although the service was quick I did find it rather rushed and the food was good

Went with colleagues from work foe recognition meal I order the lasagne with chips and cheesy garlic bread.The service we got here was unreal. The food itself was so delicious too,We highly recommend checking this place out beautiful Italian food.

Food and decor was beautiful here the only downfall from was that the water was off so staff were very busy and distracted we sat for 15 minutes with no menus etc and going to the restroom, washing hands etc was not great as there was no water. We also had drinks added to our bill which was not ours however it was refunded with no issues and understandable. Regardless of this the food was beautiful and I would love to go back again soon

We had a surprise birthday lunch for our daughter (20 of us). The service was brilliant and their food was also brilliant. There was absolutely nothing we would change. Thank you as always to the amazing staff, especially the wonderful guy who was in charge of our party.

This has got to be my all time favourite restaurant. Proper Italian restaurants are few and far between in this area and Villa Italia is like a treasure trove of incredible Italian dishes. Im in awe of the interior decor!! Just a shame we were seated downstairs instead of upstairs. Future reference don't book for when they just open the doors or you will be seated downstairs.

I ate here last night and have to say I was very disappointed. My main was a chicken dish and the chicken was very dry and bland! Chips and veg was also over cooked and my good had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for a while as when it came there was a skin on my sauce, overall very very bland no taste to it and everything was over cooked! Not sure if they have changed their chef but it's went massively downhill since my last visit a year or so ago. My started was also dry so I've no idea what's going on at the place now but it's definitely not what it used to be unfortunately

Spaghetti Bolognese watery and probably the worst ever in a restaurant unfortunately Seafood spaghetti was nice but not yum Pizza and calzone were good. The cheese made these dishes the best

Took my mum here for her birthday, the food, wine, and espresso martini's were all really tasty and reasonably priced. Only feedback is it would be great to have an extra vegetarian pizza option on the menu (with lots of different veggies!). Atmosphere was great, it was very busy but not chaotic or loud, and I love the decor. Staff were very friendly, thanks for a lovely night :)

I wanted a nice Italian meal and checked the web site and menu. It looked like the right kind of place. It was a bit out of the city centre but not too far. Being a Wednesday night I wasn’t expecting to have a problem getting a table but I got quite a surprise when I walked in. The place was buzzing! While I waited I spoke to a couple of regulars. They told me they’d been coming for years because the food was great and so was the atmosphere. I could agree about the atmosphere already. I was shown to a table for 4 in the middle of the restaurant. In the past I’ve been shoe horned into a corner or stuck in a basement on my own so I was really pleased. I ordered bruschetta to start. It smelt and tasted great. It was loaded with fresh tomatoes and went down nicely. My main was linguine scoglio. It’s fair to say this is one of the nicest that I’ve had and it’s my go to dish. Plenty of seafood and a rich sauce. Beautiful! The wine was a house Nero d’Avola. Once again it really hit the mark. I finished off with a cappuccino and a large Disaronno. The experience was even better for the helpful and friendly staff, who were in no hurry to chuck out a single diner from a 4 table. I can’t praise it enough.

My bad experience started even before I arrived at the restaurant. Since my party had 9 people, I couldn’t book through the website and had to call instead. When I spoke to the lady on the phone, she asked for my name. I asked if I could spell it out, as I wanted to make sure that, in case anyone arrived before me, they’d be able to find the booking. Instead of taking the booking with the correct name, she asked where I was from! How is that even relevant to making a reservation for 7 pm on a Saturday? Once we arrived, the food was okay, but the service was terrible. Two people at our table didn’t even receive menus until we asked for them. Then, the waitress took the wrong order, and we had to ask for the correct one. To make matters worse, she was complaining about it to another staff member right in front of us! With poor service like this, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We called here on speck after a very long day of sight seeing. Luckily, after waiting 10 mins, we got a table. I was very surprised to see the restaurant packed on a Monday night! All our four meals were lovely but I was very surprised to be charged £1.10 for some added chilli which was literally a sprinkle for garnish!

We come here whenever we are in Belfast. The service is great but the food is exceptional. It was Wednesday night and the place was heaving. The pizza chap was on form and entertaining to watch. We had great waiter Henry. Just lovely and we return later in the year for another family wedding.

This place looks lovely on the outside and on the inside. The moment I walked through the door, the staff were very friendly and attentive. I was shown to a nice table and my order taken. I had the prawns and calamari for starter and WOW, the praws tasted amazing and the calamari wasn't rubbery at all which was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed the starter, very tasty. Next I ordered the Hake, which came on a bed of crushed new potatoes with mushy peas and slice of bacon on top, a creamy buttermilk sauce and a side bowl with chunky carrot, broccoli and parsnips. Beautifully served and a veritable jawgasm!!! The taste was exquisite and I couldn't manage a desert as I was stuffed. Special shoutout to the head chef Steve for cooking an amazing meal 😁

Food was amazing, service on the other hand was shocking. Waited over 20 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge us when our main was finished, desserts came with dirty cutlery and without an apology it was replaced. Overall extremely disappointing as previous experiences have been a lot better.

Excellent experience, both gastronomic and the staff who served us, we are Spanish and they made us feel at home, the Italian manager was very kind and friendly, two colleagues, one South American and another who knew many languages, treated us like a 10. If we return to Belfast we will definitely repeat, 100 percent recommended.

Had a family birthday last nite Saturday the 8th February food was great, waiting staff were great. The thing that impressed me the most was we were able to sit after our meal no rush no moving us along,which I really liked it was busy but we felt relaxed . Other Restaurant we have been two after a meal we have been moved along I think Villa Italian have got it right. We will be back

Staff were fantastic and food fabulous as per usual - Villa Italia never lets us down! Such lovely food and atmosphere- been coming here for years for any family celebrations as it’s a firm favourite and food always top class.

Villa Italia is our favourite Italian restaurant in Belfast. We are always able to get a table and the owner remembers our daughter's name, which makes this a special family treat every time we visit.

Went there this evening. I would say it is bang average at best. I asked for a simple spaghetti olio with prawns. What I got was a bowl of spaghetti with a pot of chili oil and plain prawns. Not a sign of chili’s, garlic or olive oil. To be honest, I did think they would have pan fried the prawns for the dish. Most disappointed. Also, we were sat close to the door and with the constant traffic it was cold. The thermometer by the entrance displayed 17.7 degrees which is way too cold for a restaurant. Can I suggest you adopt the European standard for restaurants in cold winter countries by installing thick entrance curtains that will help maintain a better temperature. All in all not a great experience for a restaurant that flatters to deceive and live up to the hype.

Reminded me of when I visited Pinzolo, such a comforting place. The food is amazing and the staff are so sweet. Service is amazing and it was the best date I have had in a while! I will be going back!

Very busy, Very noisy, food average, friendly staff

Love this place, it's not pretentious but very cosy and just perfect for a date night or a party dinner. Food is always bang on and the service is always great. Place is usually busy and a lovely atmosphere. It's no wonder it's lasted well all these years and will continue. Been loads and will continue to go, highly recommended!

Had booked a table for 7.30pm - arrived to a queue of people which extended outside the restaurant. We were eventually given a table at 8.10pm - at no stage did any member of staff reference the wait or apologise for the delay . When we mentioned the fact we had a long wait to be given a table to the waitress she commented that there had been a large number of walk ins that night which had led to delays. I am not sure why they take bookings at all if you are just left to stand in a queue because the tables are occupied by walk ins. The food was nice when we were served but I wouldn’t return.

5 stars all around from us for our visit to Villa Italia! From the moment we walked through the doors until we left, we could not vault the staff who were absolutely first class, very friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was so busy on a Saturday night. As for the food, well, that was what you expected from a pizzeria. Absolutely delicious meal finished off with a beautiful dessert of hot chocolate fudge cake. See you again soon folks!

The staff are friendly and accommodating, making it an ideal spot for dining with children. While our wine order was mistaken, we enjoyed the selection nonetheless. The food was enjoyable, though not particularly exceptional. However, our children were delighted with their meals, which is always a plus when dining out with the family. Overall, we had a lovely evening at Villa Italia. The combination of a charming atmosphere, friendly service, and a welcoming environment for children makes it a great choice for a casual family dinner.

Could not fault the food but service was very poor. Never checked on once we received our starters and mains. Very hard to get staff attention when we required additional napkins and a spoon. Once mains were cleared we never got asked did we want to see a dessert menu. Sat for 20 mins before we had to ask to see a dessert menu. Paid for food and never asked was everything ok. As said food very good but service has put me off returning in the future

Arrived here not having booked asked if there was any chance of a table for 6 people, looking around the restaurant was very busy, I was asked if I could wait maybe 10 minutes and they would have something for us. Within 5 we were shown to our table. The food was very good but the service we were given by Nisha was EXCELLENT only 3 days in the role and really customer focused. I believe that a good meal is 45% food and 55% service. Will definitely be back and can only recommend this restaurant and their staff.

Service and atmosphere were good. Just visiting Belfast and looked and some reviews and picked here but unfortunately the food was not particularly great, felt very let down and disappointed with what we paid for. Garlic bread with cheese had tomato base on which was a bit weird, was really greasy. The mains: meatballs were really heavy and dry with no flavour at all, just a ball of plain mince, and the tomato sauce on the linguine was also really bland, no flavour. The pepperoni pizza was not pepperoni, it was some kind of smokey sausage, if you’re not using pepperoni, don’t call it a pepperoni pizza. So disappointed!!

We were in Belfast for one night and asked a few people for a nice place to eat. 3 of 5 people had mentioned Villa Italia, so we tried it, and we were not disappointed the place was busy, creating a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was amazing, and I will be back.

Always a very busy eatery but got our table as booked on time. Great food and great atmosphere as usual. Kids had the pizza with the crispy base and adults has pasta. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended!

Fantastic little find in Belfast, 10 minutes walk from the centre and bursting with atmosphere. Food was incredible, infact I'd go back to Belfast for the day just to have dinner here! Can't wait to return. Staff all lovely and couldn't do enough for you.

We've ate here multiple times and every time the food was lovely. Staff were very quick to serve you and very friendly. We booked in for 5pm on a Saturday night and it was very busy and quite loud. Would recommend visiting on a week day as I expect it might be quieter. Noticed an increase in price of the food from previous times we visited but still felt it was very reasonable. Would visit again.

This place is always packet yet great, fast service and food is lovely. Plenty of variety on the menu. Great wee place for casual food.

Have eaten here a few times. Food is good. Tonight we were rushed to make drink and food choices. 2 of the empty plates were cleared from the table while 3rd person's was still eating. Dessert menus were hurriedly given to us and then we were asked did we want the bill. We were still finishing off the wine so asked could we have a minute to do so. We weren't late diners and the restaurant was still busy when we left about 8. Perhaps the waitress was in a hurry home. Disappointing service and we would certainly think twice before returning. We spent over £100 so it wasn't a cheap night out.
