This place is always packet yet great, fast service and food is lovely. Plenty of variety on the menu. Great wee place for casual food.

Have eaten here a few times. Food is good. Tonight we were rushed to make drink and food choices. 2 of the empty plates were cleared from the table while 3rd person's was still eating. Dessert menus were hurriedly given to us and then we were asked did we want the bill. We were still finishing off the wine so asked could we have a minute to do so. We weren't late diners and the restaurant was still busy when we left about 8. Perhaps the waitress was in a hurry home. Disappointing service and we would certainly think twice before returning. We spent over £100 so it wasn't a cheap night out.

Absolutely amazing. Visited with my family this evening and we loved everything about it. The food, the atmosphere, the service. We will definitely come back next time we’re in Belfast.

Lovely family dinner out no problems.

Somewhat disappointed. Lots of staff running about but imho not noticing that our table needed attention. An early water spill and the kitchen towel used to dry it up left on the table our whole meal. Will be back to see was it an off night.

Lovely inside with quick service and attentive staff

I’ve been in Belfast now for 9 months. This restaurant produced the best plate of food I have had by a mile. The venue is gorgeous, the staff friendly and accommodating and the food is to die for. The only thing I’d say if I was really nitpicking is id like some Italian music on in the background to complete the ambience. However I understand not everyone is like me so that’s more of a personal preference.

Food is really great, authentic italian!! Definitely i will come back if ever ill visit belfast again.

A lovely, friendly restaurant with a great menu. The pizzas looked and smelled fantastic and I was informed by the very knowledgeable and friendly chef that they sell 300/400 on a Saturday. We hadn’t a booking but a Belfast taxi driver recommended it to us. It was great advice. We had a drink at the upstairs bar until a table became available. The service was professional, prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was top quality and the waiting time very short especially given how busy the restaurant was. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Belfast, a joy.

It's one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in a while. The restaurant atmosphere was really nice, and even though there was a lot of people, it wasn't too noisy or cramped. The food was amazing. The aranchini was really tasty and crispy on the outside. The pizza was really good too, perfectly cooked and I liked the toppings. The service was quick as well. We didnt book and we went in at about 6pm on a Saturday, but we didn't have to wait long, however we could see it getting busier and like other people say it will be best to book. Overall, it was really nice, and I couldn't fault anything they did. I will definitely be back when I come to belfast again.

Great Italian food and atmosphere service excellant.

Villa Italia is the perfect place to enjoy Italian food likes it is made by your Nona! As you enter the restaurant, the low ceiling creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff for providing delicious meals at fair and reasonable prices. Our table ordered three pasta dishes with garlic bread and there was nothing left on our plates! The wait staff gave our table excellent customer service, considering how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday night. Special mention to our waitress Eve who looked after our table with a sense of humour and a smile! The bartender made me a delicious Irish Coffee for an Italian restaurant! Highly recommend Villa Italia for a romantic table of two or a party of ten. Be advised, book your table in advance or you will miss out. When we exited the restaurant at 9 pm, people were still queuing to get in!. As they say in Italy, this place is numero uno!

Enjoyed a nice meal here after visiting Belfast University. We hadn't booked but lucky enough to get a table as it was so busy. Starters were nice and the Pizzas very good. Nice friendly staff.

Was not good. service was not good and the food was the same. Don't know of it was because we were foreigners. The building was nice.

Family came up to Belfast for a few nights. Spotted the gem that is villa italia. Strolled in and we were greeted by the wonderful grace, who had the warmest welcome and supported us throughout the night. Food was brilliant but service took the cake. Honestly best words to grace she made our night special and our family reuniun perfect, full commendations to her. Will definitely visit again!

First time ever at Villa Italia. After reading the reviews I had to try this place and it did not disappoint. Great food, great service and it was extremely busy. Even with such a high demand, the staff were excellent. Highly recommended and I will certainly be back.

Fantastic service from all the staff, especially the brunette with long hair and make with the mullet (sorry I didn’t get their name). First time I’ve been here as it was recommended by a local, we came here from Britain for a girls trip. Food was great and very well priced. We recommend 110%

Went here as a table of two, was greeted at the door by the manager pointing his finger at us and asking us what the name of the order is, no “good evening how are you” etc. we were seated and didn’t give us much of a chance to see the menu before coming to take our order. Bolognese was okay, and my boyfriend ordered the filet steak rare, was medium well done which he was dissapointed about. I asked for extra napkins as they had given us none and the waiter looked like he didn’t want to be there. Didn’t feel like they wanted us to enjoy our experience at all, mainly they just stood around chatting amongst themselves while me and my partner were trying to get their attention. It all seems a bit unorganised and service is secretly lacking. Wont be back

Great value for money and tasty food. Service seems to be slow and a bit hit and miss due to it being busy often and looks like a fairly young staff missing a bit of attention to detail here and there but not enough to put off a visit would recommend just make sure not to have plans afterwards

Great food! Loved the arancini for starters. Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta salmon. Kids loved the spag bol. Excellent service. Great place to bring your kids/toddlers the staff were very accommodating. Book beforehand tables get booked up quickly. Highly recommended

A lot of waiting because a victim of its success, the dishes are good, but some waiters are not very courteous or professional... My daughter wanted lasagna children's menu the waiter brought us nuggets the first time we told him that we had ordered lasagna he left with the nuggets then came back with the same nuggets, throwing the plate to my daughter and turning on his heel. This is not a proper way to serve.

Wat een enorm groot restaurant. Meerdere verdiepingen. Iedere ober heeft eigen tafels dus voldoende persoonlijke aandacht. Prima pizza en pasta (ook glutenvrij!!!) Lekkere toetjes ook.

Loved this restaurant. I visited on my first night in Belfast and the food, service and atmosphere was so good that I returned for the second night of my trip. I had the lasagna one evening and then the carbonara which were both absolutely delicious. I only wish I had had more time to try some of the other menu options and I would definitely go here again on any other visits to Belfast. An absolute gem of a place.

Me and my family visited here back in April and it was amazing, I had the best carbonara of my life, the staff were extremely friendly, service was quick and the place was beautifully decorated. I’m itching to go back soon as I would love to try some of the other food that they have to offer.

I came here last night with my partner and her mum. We had a booking for 7pm but waited at the front door for so long before anyone sat us. Numerous staff walked past us and although it may not be their job to seat us, they didn’t acknowledge we were there or excuse the wait time. I hate commenting on service working in hospitality myself, however, from the offset the staff were incredibly rude and inattentive. No one checked our meals were okay which is known restaurant standard. The vibe was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When paying the young man taking the payment couldn’t have been ruder, then walked off to make a comment to his coworker who both proceeded to look in our direction. I understand it was a Monday evening and the last thing they want to be doing is working but being polite is the least you expect. I’ve been coming here for years and after that experience I won’t be back. Food was nice though!

Great food with nice and efficient staff. The only problem was that the manager seems to think he runs a fast-food and puts pressure on customers to vacate their table. We could hear him shouting at our nice waiter: "Make them pay" hoping we would take the unsubtle hint. So keep everything but teaching the manager manners would be a pretty good improvement *Edit*: I have to mention that after my review, the owner contacted me to apologize for his manager's behaviour. This is a rare and much apppreciated reaction.

Busy but seated quickly without booking. We all had very good pasta. Server was very nice but perhaps inexperienced.

Just back from what was supposed to be a birthday celebration- service was shocking a total lack of interest from the management and staff from the start- the food was terrible my pasta was just that, pasta with a tomato sauce out of a jar poured over it absolutely tasteless, the other dish was a chicken fillet with a slice of ham and melted cheese on top- a supposed Italian restaurant I think an Italian restaurant in Rome would be horrified- I complained and was still presented with a full amount bill- very very disappointed and will never be back

Great Italian restaurant for a family to enjoy. It's easy going, friendly with good Italian dishes, good atmosphere and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed our evening.

The service and food was absolutely wonderful here. The food was delicious and nearly the whole menu had the option of gluten free which was absolutely brilliant for us. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, we were really surprised with what was on offer and how friendly the staff were. We would definitely come back here when we visit Belfast again. A wonderful place to eat.

Arancini were really tasty,best ive ever had , lasagne is amazing, service is excellent, really quick and fresh food. Great all round place. Don't skip dessert! Tiramisu is amazing and the sticky toffee pudding is 11/10 the sauce was amazing. Really recommend. Always busy for a good reason.

Have been many times everything consistently good , love it. Near Queens Uni and a popular venue for Graduation parties and all occasions including Sunday lunch.

Table booked for quarter to 5 on a Saturday evening, seemed to just about beat the rush. But within half an hour the place was full. Saying that our service was quick and efficient and staff were friendly and chatty. Our food was all delicious and hot. I had chicken with garlic and bacon stuffing and wild mushroom sauce, followed by profiteroles. It was all well presented and very tasty. Very busy restaurant would recommend booking.

My family has been going to Villa Italia since I was a child and now we all go as a large family group with our own children. Brilliant service, accommodating for large families/groups with various needs and a brilliant selection of top quality food.

My partner and I were here last night for a meal, the food was excellent and my partner is half Italian so she would know good Italian cuisine. We were up from Limerick for the night and were recommended by a wonderful taxi driver. Could not say a bad word about the place and when we are there again we will be stopping by for another meal. Wonderful spot.

The king prawn linguine was out of this world, pizzas were unbelievable. Only opened at 4 and by 5:30 this place was crazy busy def need to book and when you do its well worth it. My daughter has coeliac and nothing was a problem, so well catered for she went for kids pizza gf with chips and probably the best shes had. Has to be best italian in belfast we will definitely be in a hurry to go back here

ALL PIZZAS can be made GLUTEN FREE. Super fast and friendly service. Everyone ate pizzas, delicious, exquisite, except me who ate a brutal pasta all'angelo! After admiring Queen's University, it is the best option for dinner. The desserts haven't arrived yet and you already have my review. 😍

We've been eating at Villa Italia for many years & always enjoyed it but yesterday on 2 occasions had to point out to staff that ( in our opinion ) they shouldn't start to clear table while some were still eating.

Always get either the baked lamb or linguini scolio. Was so so a few months ago. Maybe a change of chef. But this time round back to the usual standard. V nice!

Food and staff were 1st class, Ordered a pizza £6:50 10 inch full of chicken breast meat with red peppers absolutely delicious. Need to prebook table as they are constantly full, no walk in table s available.

The food was unreal but the staff made my whole experience! Especially James mckenna what a lovely server who was so polite and helpful, he is an asset to the team. Hope he gets the appreciation he deserves 🙂

This restaurant is top notch. Service is very good. The food taste amazing. I ordered the anchovies pizza - taste like what u get from a small family run Italian restaurant in the countryside of italy. The pasta and the cod fish is very tasty with excellent presentation. The staff are all friendly and efficient. Very attentive and responsive to request. Service are catered to your request. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

•1st time in this restaurant with my partner to celebrate my birthday. •Waiters were good. However, it was not easy to understand them because of the loud noises. •We ordered: Morsetti, Lasagna Della Casa with diced potatoe in a garlic butter, Hawaiian pizza and for desserts Tiramisu and profiteroles. - Morsetti: nothing exciting just chicken with a side salad with paprika mayonnaise. Not too bad. - Lasagna was delicious, very tasty, good cheese and meat, also diced potatoe in a garlic butter was excellent, very strong flavour of garlic. Spot on 👍 - Hawaiian pizza was not as good as I expected: burn taste, hard to cut, lack of flavour and toppings. -Tiramisu was nice. However, very strong of coffee and alcohol. - Profiteroles: it was ok. Nothing exciting. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this place.

Very convenient for parking, free of charge too which is great. We arrived early for our booking and were seated straight away, this was very welcome and not entirely expected. Service was a "little" slow, but understandable as the restaurant was packed! We often found waiters/waitresses walking past us without checking or taking plates etc. but again I understand due to how busy it was. My wife had bruschetta to start and I had the goujons, both wonderful! Moving on to main course and I had a pepperoni pizza and my wife had a carbonara, one of her favourites. Both again were excellent, you can tell the pizza is handmade and the base was so crispy too which is hard to find in certain places. Dessert we shared a chocolate fudge cake, it was devine, not much else to say! Overall just a great experience and would definitely come back.

Visiting from the United States and found this amazing place after a day of hiking. Loved the atmosphere, great service and delicious food. We had wine, salad, garlic bread and pasta and loved every bite. Villa Italia Exceeded all of our expectations!
