Scalini Restaurant in Belfast

We was advised to go here by our hotel reception and on entering we figured it a good choice! The decor is lovely! However the main thing….the food was pretty poor! We both had pizzas and shared a garlic bread, the garlic bread I’m 98% was frozen! I’ve honestly had better efforts from Sainsbury’s! And both our pizzas was what I call kinda sloppy! All the ingredients dumped in the middle and just zero care involved! On showing is to our table the waiter guy dropped £40 quid on the floor which my wife picked up and showed to me….i figured she’d found it but on sitting down she informed me she was pretty sure it’d fell out of the waiters pocket, I watched the waiter and sure enough could see he had lost something so I handed it to his fellow waiter who chased him down and gave it to him….he didn’t even say thank you! The staff there was not particularly friendly overall but the guy not even saying thankyou was a little bit disappointing! Our meal came to around £40 which would be decent enough value if it had been better. Would I eat here again??? No I’m sad to say I wouldn’t!

Lovely food, pizza was one of the best I have ever had. Admittedly service was a bit slow but it is a large restaurant so can be forgiven. Would highly recommend. Me and the wife had a starter each, a main each, shared a dessert and had a drink each, came to around £55 which is about what we normally spend when eating out so the cost I thought was reasonable. Edit: Back again in Feb 25, fantastic again. A pizza, carbonara, shared desert and two Coke Zero for £45. Pics attached.

Outstanding food, absolutely lovely service, but I was dining alone and had the rest of the table cluttered with cutlery and glasses. Had to ask for a spoon for my dessert, and had to wave frantically to get the bill. Small enough issues but resolving these attention to detail issues would make this one of the finest restaurants I've ever experienced. Will be back.

We visited as a group of 40 people last week. The service and food were fantastic. They allocated our group three waiters/waitresses of whom all were extremely attentive throughout. We had a few allergy requests, one which was severe. They took this extremely seriously and made us feel at ease throughout. I would definitely return. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so smooth.

amazing service, staff were lovely and food was well priced for what you got. the gluten-free options were absolutely phenomenal and i’d highly recommend for anyone coeliac!! also just great vibes. the only fault is the toilets are only accessible by stairs, but other than that it was fabulous.

Delicious! The pasta, pizza and garlic bread are highly recommended, and they are also super friendly, which means that the place always has a lot of customers, you have to wait but it's worth it.

Food is amazing, highly recommend the Genovese pizza. Best service from Zoe and from Sennan yesterday! We were at a lovely quiet table. There was a cool breeze from the aircon and when asked, it was fixed in a jiffy!

I had a fantastic dining experience at this Italian restaurant. The calzone was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked with a great balance of flavors. Affogato what I had for desert, which was a delightful end to the meal. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting thanks to Niamh B 😊

A great find. Very busy - always a good sign for us. We were very well looked after as a large group of friends. Recommend the Christmas cocktail gingerbread theme. Food was perfect but disappointed with the bolognaise unfortunately. Service was bery organised and thoughtful staff with a great sense of humour.

Sunday evening and Scalini's was buzzing. According to our waitress, Niamh, this was a relatively quiet Sunday by Scalini standards. The food was fabulous, (I can heartily recommend the Penne Primavera - deliciously cooked with just the right balance of spice to bring it to life), the Cocktails interesting, and the service charming and faultless (Thank you Niamh)

This was my first time in Scalini's and I would definitely return. We all had different pasta dishes and they were delicious, good size portions and very keenly priced- excellent value for money! Staff members were respectful, polite and attentive and the interior Italian decor is most tastefully done. Grazie!

The food is very good, you don't have to wait very long, around 15-20 minutes. The friendly staff, I wanted to change the drink I originally ordered and there was no problem and the prices are affordable.

It was my first time at the restaurant. The food was amazing! The staff is really kind and gentle. The price is good for the food. I ordered a Garlic bread supreme and a Carbonara. If you want to try a really good Italian food, this is the restaurant! Thanks so much for all staff!

good food but the manager was quite rude, she had brown hair with blonde highlights. was very rude to a young worker Infrtonf of a big group of people for a very small issue. Won’t be returning if this is how staff is treated.

Went here for dinner this evening, service was the best we've had,our waitress made our evening great for us celebrating our daughters birthday and as usual the food was fantastic. Overall great experience, haven't had a bad night there yet.

Had the most lovely experience at scalinis today! Such a nice atmosphere! Our servers had the most amazing customer service! They where friendly, kind, making us laugh and interacting with us so nicely. Niamh B and Lucy where so lovely always asking was everything OK and did we need anything. We were not waiting long for them to take our order or to serve us. Very fast service. Their personalities where so bubbly and nice it really made our dining experience. Food was amazing as always!

Very nice place, very well received. Only, the team managed to find me a table. I could meet with my eyes all those who went to the toilet! Fantastic service - food came very late and staff comped the bill with out us even asking, incredible customer service. And to add to that, the food was excellent. Will definitely be returning as they show they genuinely care about customers!!

Really disappointing experience tonight! We asked our server to confirm whether the pizza called Danielle had a tomato sauce, since I don't like white pizza. She said that it did. It arrives at the table, there's no tomato sauce, it is a white pizza, and it's extremely oily. As well, our salads had no salad dressing and we were not given plates despite saying that we'd be sharing the pizza.

Really lovely spot. We're just back from Italy and the whole feel of the restaurant just brings you back. The staff were so nice and they seated us as a walk in even though it was a busy Friday. Lovely spot, we'll definitely be back :)

Good food and service. My Affogato dessert did miss key components (espresso and amaretto) but was quickly rectified with out issue. Would go back.

First time in Belfast and we chose Scalini's for our evening meal. The food is out of this world and so much of it. The service is an easy 5 star and so friendly, professional and efficient. The whole atmosphere is authentic and charming. It was like being in Italy. We will definitely return and highly recommended. Thank you all so much.

We looked at restaurants in the area we were staying & Scalini was one on the list after reading the reviews, we decided to book online however it said there wasn’t a table until 20.45, so I called the restaurant and they said to come along & they would seat us. On arrival we waited all of ten minutes, then was shown to our table . We were blown away by the quick service & the hospitality the staff make you feel very welcome. The food did not disappoint either we both had lamb steaks they were cooked to exactly how we asked for them to be. If we had any negatives it would be that the toilets are on the third floor, so lots of stairs to climb hence why it is called Scalini ( means stairs in Italian) but this can be overlooked due to the beautiful ambiance.

All I can say is 'wonderful '. Lovely, friendly staff and the best Spaghetti Carbonara ever. Bravo. If I come back to Belfast, I'll be sure to revisit

I've been here twice due to lack of alternatives nearby. The dishes were not bad in taste, but the menu has very little that is Italian: the dishes recall some Italian dishes, but with imaginative preparations to satisfy British tastes and "Beveraggio" (written on the menu) is not the Italian translation of beverage! Furthermore, the environment is the classic stereotype of an Italian restaurant.

Pasta dishes were very good. Service was quick. Fair pricing.

Came here on recommemdation from our taxis on route to a different place so glad we did food is amazing service 1st class will hopefully return before we go home just be mindfull that its over 3 floors so lots of steps but worth the hike ❤️

First visited Scalini just recently and am so very glad I did. Whilst visiting Belfast with extended family we discovered this restaurant online and booked it. Menu really sold it to each of us. Something for everyone, literally. One was coeliac and gluten free options were no problem at all for the restaurant. Welcome was fulsome upon arrival and table service was excellent, with very attentive staff on hand. Restaurant is on two floors and each is authentically decorated. Access is only by stairs. Menu is not extensive but has variety. Thoroughly recommend their gamboroni (prawns in white wine sauce, baby tomatoes and garlic) for starter. Had piccante pizza and it was superb. Base was one of the nicest I’ve ever eaten. Not thick or doughy at all. Comes with pepperoni, salami, onions and I added black pepper. Others at the table had dishes they gushed about. Deserts were decadent and very refreshing. Utterly recommend their chocolate orange cheesecake (Torta all’arancia di cioccolato) 🤤🤤🤤 All were in agreement that it was a fabulous meal and the restaurant was a great find! Thoroughly recommend if in Belfast. Very reasonable price-wise and superb food. We will most definitely be back!

Family restaurant on multiple levels, trying hard for a slightly kitsch Italian ambience., with good food. Prepare for stairs if you need the loo.

I had come here with my son about 2 years ago and I had forgotten to write a review😅 Unfortunately since then I have not gotten a chance to revisit Scalini's but I definitely will sometime soon! Im an Italian and this is my opinion on this restaraunt; The food was amazing, the drinks too, the service was impeccable, and the scenery was amazing! I definitely reccommend for when going to Belfast

Couldn't really understand why people see this as more than an average Italian restaurant. But perhaps I'm harsh. Food and atmosphere were fine when I went but at the same time never felt particularly homely.

Lively and relaxed ambience. Good comfortable seats n great service. Vegetarian options are good and don't dissappoint. Good pizza, Ravioli n Pasta, although didn't fancy mint in my pasta it wasn't too bad. Ravioli was yumm.. n garlic potatoes as well. Overall it was an enjoyable meal experience with teenaged kids. We went around 7pm on a Friday and didn't had to wait for being seated.
