Viking Cafe - Dog friendly in Scarborough

Great cafe, great atmosphere, seems like a really cool place to hang out. Might come here again.

We were looking for a quick brunch and stumbled on this place just on the outskirts of town. First impressions, a relaxed atmosphere, good music and enough room for the pushchair. Drinks were delicious, ordered breakfast, and the food is really good value. I think those working there were a bit shy and quiet, but credit where its due, they purposely got some oat milk for my coffee. I think the food arriving together, a check to see if everything was okay and a friendly goodbye would have put this experience up to 4 stars, but we would definitely return because its such a relaxed place.

Pick a name and stick with it for gods sake. I don’t even know what this is any more. One week there are Viking helmets everywhere, the next it’s an 80s themed disco. Can’t tell if they’re chronically indecisive or having a mental breakdown…

I went in this morning but the cafe as changed the name to peace love music but girl who was working said something as I walked in so walked back out again I no she not friendly the atmosphere horrible so will be going again i did think with new name it would better but I think better as it was

Breakfasts are appalling. My husband ate his not me , I left most of mine it was to bad I couldn’t eat it ,when I told the waitress she said I didn’t cook it ,I will tell him , look at peoples plates and get it right please I will not come back ever and I hope people read this and don’t waste their money on bad food cheap stuff from Morrisons

I really enjoyed the Odin Breakfast! It was a big plate so it took some doing but I got through it eventually.

I have just visited Scarborough for the week with my 2 kids and wife :) The café is amazing and the best coffee ever even though it isn't a coffee shop. Dirty chips and breakfast were also amazing. I give this place 6 stars if i could. The Viking theme they have is just amazing also

2 stars for the theme and the atmosphere. Coffee almost undrinkable and no cake selection, chose a cherry scone which came heated up I think in a microwave. I managed to eat that but left the coffee. Quite disappointed as I do like the Viking theme

Our first time here,dog friendly took our 2 in spotlessly clean great decor staff friendly food freshly made to order and arrived very well presented and quicker than expected. Finally a good spot in Scarborough when we're here with the dogs we will be back thank you

Negatives: Toasties needed some chips and better quality coleslaw. Coffee a-bit small. Poor selection of cakes. Positives: Good service, coffee tasted good for decaf.

Brilliant place for lunch or a snack. Staff absolutely wonderful

Had a lovely breakfast 2 large 1 breakfast muffin all very nice good quality and very good service, also our three Daschunds were made very welcome.

Amazing, i popped in today with my daughter and had a super Odin brekkie, it was huge, couldn't eat it all but sure as hell tried :) Rachel had a slush puppie and loaded fries (Jalapeno) she is still suffering, they were hot hot hot :) Wonderful atmosphere, great staff and amazing food. Well recommended. Will return soon

Popped in over the weekend and it was great. The breakfast was lovely! Would definitely go again :)

The food was brilliant, we had a toasty each and shared it with our little girl who loved all the decor. We also had our dog with us who took a liking to the owner! Such a great place and welcoming to all!

Unfortunately not the best experience. We popped in today because there was only 1 other couple inside so figured we could be quick due to parking time being up soon. Husband ordered the large breakfast, i ordered toastie and chips. The breakfast and toastie came very quickly and was told the rest of mine would be 1 minute by the young lady. 10 minutes later and my husband has finished his food and I'm still waiting with my now cold toastie and told again by the lady it shouldn't be much longer and we won't be charged for them. Another 5 minutes and they finally arrive but we are out of time so had to leave them. Food wise £12 for a large breakfast we don't mind, but unfortunately it was very obviously cheaply purchased items. Watery beans, extremely thin bacon, undercooked hash brown. Nearly £6 for the toastie which looked absolutely nothing like the photos used to advertise. The photos show a toastie with bread done properly in a toaster. What we got was one done in the little toastie machines that squash half the bread and half the size. The chips however when finally arrived was a very large portion but as stated had to be left. Such a shame, we visited often with the previous owners and food was lovely, fresh and not cheaply purchased. Photo to show husbands eaten breakfast and my cold toastie. I've seen alot of good reviews, hence why we also decided to visit. We must have visited on an off day.

Wonderful experience. I popped in with my partner and daughter. Amazing Viking atmosphere and very relaxing. We had breakfasts and bacon butties along with lovely coffee and of course my daughter had a huge milkshake with cream and marsh mallows (Had to leave half, far too much) 80s music, so couldn't ask for more. The huge Viking was amazing as well as the wall art, will deffo pop in again when we visit in the future.

I don't get it all the lovely reviews and even a spread from the local rag on how good it is, so thought I'd give it a whirl. Only to wait 4o mins for food, coffee was disgusting, not hygienic at all and the medium breakfast was the size of a kids meal and not tasty at all. I'm going to put it down to a change of ownership as the Web site looked like different ppl there now

Impromptu coffee stop. The coffee is far better than over priced large chains. Very welcoming, get inside and the music is awesome. Next visit will be for breakfast.

Always a warm welcome for both human and dog customers at the Viking. Great prices and really good coffee too.

Its an absolute fantastic place. Their hot chocolates are like nothing I've ever had before. Phenomenal.

Delicious food, good prices highly recommended I had an amazing black velvet cake. Can't wait to go back and try Wendy's famous lemon meringue cheesecake! Yum!

Came in today for some breakfast. Was served by a lovely man on training called Simon I think it was, who was very polite and attentive. The food was lovely and very cheap and cheerful. Super friendly atmosphere and a great place to stop for a relaxing bite to eat.

Really delicious coffee and home made scones , both cheese and fruit. Friendly lady who owns and runs and bakes was very nice and we will return . Decent pricing , £2.10 for an Americano

Me and my partner went in to coffee junction and was greeted straight away by the lovely owner she was so polite and told us about her homemade cake so we tried 3 of them and they are incredible and really affordable and it turned out some was gluten free. I thought most cakes that are gluten free would be dry but they wasnt. We are definitely going back

What a little gem of a business this coffee shop is!! We found it by accident and we’re so glad we did. Staff very attentive without being in your face. Nothing too much trouble. We ordered coffee, sandwiches with bread you can actually taste and what a selection of homemade cakes!! Everything freshly made and well presented. My hubby was a baker and loved the coconut & chocolate cheesecake and my lemon drizzle cake. Keep up the great work ladies!!

I grabbed a fabulously tasty toasty and utterly divine banoffee cheesecake with my other half in there today, the pumpkin spice latte went down a treat too! A lovely family run business with a warm cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be back again soon. Would highly recommend.

This is now our FAVOURITE go to Cafe in Scarborough and we visit every week without fail. Delicious freshly made food to order and the most scrumptious homemade cakes, scones, quiche I've ever tasted. Everything is superb even the Coffee & Tea is of a really high standard. As for the service you couldn't meet a nicer, more friendly person than the owner Wendy who works her socks off to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.

We found this little gem, when having a walk with my son. The staff are so friendly and the cakes are to die for, even if you are looking for a good cup of coffee, I highly recommended. Please remember to support local small businesses.

Fantastic coffee with friendly service in a comfy cafe. I also had a sausage in a roll which was delicious. Well worth a visit. It's a short walk away from the pedestrianised bit of town, so is handy but a bit quieter than in the main drag. Delighted to report no background music during our visit so was a good place to chat and chill. I will be back!

As a new business to open in Scarborough its always great to show your support especially in these uncertain times. Ordered a large breakfast with a drink and a slice of carrot cake for later. Not disappointed at all, excellent quality piping hot. Would recommend a visit. Plus if you have a dog some treats on the bar to which we we're given a small bag worth. The dog enjoyed 😉.
