Rules for coffee shop customers in 2024 are disappointing. I'm all for promoting conversation, but if we're going to ban small businesses using laptops (who are mostly considerate about spending money, rather than table hogging) are we also going to ban phones and people with their head in books? It wasn't dealt with in a friendly way, and you'd think a small business with plenty of spare tables (ie could benefit from more more business) wouldn't feel the need to be grumpy about having custom. Let's treat each other as adults. The coffee is OK, but Brad & Dill's, Silver Palette and others do friendly service, and support local business owners who work (and who give up their seats if busy). For people who live alone, coffee shop working for an hour or so can be a mental health lifeline. Laptops rules are like old-fashioned dress codes. When you travel to Scandinavia, Baltic states, Spain, Portugal, Asia, you never seem to come across this. But hey, it's your place, you decide. As with pubs, there are plenty of other options.

Best speciality coffee in St Albans. The blend of Brazilian and Indian beans has wonderful tasting notes that works well i cortado, flat white and cappuccino.

Viento is my go to morning coffee! It is simply the best tasting coffee in town. Super speedy service and consistently good coffee. Highly recommend!

Since moving to the area a year ago, my partner and I have become addicted to Viento coffee. It literally cannot be beaten! We purchased a coffee machine at Christmas but still go to Viento to get an additional daily fix! The owners are absolutely charming and always super friendly and helpful!

I have been going to Viento since me and my partner moved to the area a year ago. It is by far the best coffee you can buy and the owners are lovely and really friendly so I don’t understand the other reviews they have received. We purchased a ‘bean to cup’ coffee machine at Christmas and we buy the delicious beans from the coffee shop. Despite having this machine, we also still both buy a coffee a day from Viento because it’s so good!! If you don’t visit Viento you are missing out!!

Not good. It rests on its prime location and the staff put in next to no attempt to be pleasant or really anything that might make a visit worth it. They'll depend on passing trade who know no better. But the whole vibe is all about making no effort and on top of that the menu sucks. The portions are tiny. Really disappointed.

Reasonably large store with standard Costa products. Plenty of seating.
