They seem to have moved this bar, since my last visit & I preferred it as it was. Big open barn like place with little atmosphere. Staff weren’t very helpful or friendly & the place could do with a clean.

Booked a one night stay at the Village Hotel, which so far looks to be excellent. Not knowing the area we decided to dine at the on site. My partner is vegan so the grill restaurant was out as no vegan choices. I went for the chick pea and sweet potatoe curry which was average, tasted reasonable, though there were a lot of cardamom pods to pick out and the portion size was a little small and the nan bread very much so. My partner chose the fish and chips, when it arrived it looked really greasy so much so that my partner felt the need to dabs off the excess oil with a tissue or two. The batter coverage was very uneven which meant that the fish itself was covered in oil too. We were starving so ate the food. However the meal badly repeated on my partner, to such an extent she was physically sick later no doubt as a result of the greasy meal. Think we'd have got a much better meal from a local takeaway, and £3.65 for a pint of lemonade was rather steep too. I would have complained on her behalf had any of the staff bothered to ask how our meals were. There was noone at the bar when we left so no comment was made to staff, hence this review. Here's hoping for a great hotel breakfast to make up for it.

As far as hotel bars go, this is a good one. It's a Sportsbar, so good atmosphere. Decent covered outside area & good service from the staff.

Good food and service. Beer and burgers and big TV's for sport if you want. We managed to find quiet corner.

Eat here each time we stay at the village hotel in Warrington. Kids meals are good value for money at £5.95 to include a soft drink and desert. I got the BBQ chicken flat bread with a side of chips, it's huge and tasty. Partner got the house burger and wings and enjoyed both. Plenty of drinks to choose from and it's a sports bar where their is football or golf or some sort of sport on the TVs in there. Food is served until 9.30pm.

Staying in the Village Hotel, this is a must go venue in the hotel. If you need to relax for a drink or watch the football or have dinner, this is a perfect place to hang out. Fresh choice of popular beers, offers great side foods. The Burgers and Chicken wings go great with the beers. There is also good collection of Scotch wishkeys as well. If you need more food it can also be ordered from the restaurant at the other side of the hotel. There is good place for sitting outside during summer as well. Open till late, this a must go for a drink if you are staying in Village.

The burger/ pizza menu is quite inviting - my advice would be stick to those 'basics'. My husband's burger was fine but I ordered the chickpea/ sweet potato curry which i think was probably some of 'boil in the bag'. After a 30 minute wait we expected more... the children's menu is okay value though

Decided to lunch here whilst staying at the hotel, menu looked tasty enough, and reasonably priced. We ate around 2pm on a Thursday, and it was more or less empty. Comfortable seating areas, nice and quiet. We ordered chicken tenders, a chicken wrap, and a club sandwich, all with fries, 2 cokes and a large wine. Bill was just under £40, which may seem a little steep for a lunch, but the portion sizes and quality of the food was fantastic. Staff were lovely, polite and friendly but not intrusive. Really enjoyed eating here, and will do so again next time we visit the village hotel.

The Pub is located in the ground floor of the Village hotel. It serves various beers, cider and all sorts of other drinks. I personnally found it quite noisy but the serve decent food such as burgers and fish and chips. It's o.k, yet not great.

Visited here as a group, the member of staff behind the bar happily put some tables together for us as we were a large group. He was very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Food was great and portion sizes good.

My husband and I shared pizza, chicken goujons and fries. Fries aren't on the menu but they sell them. They are enormous so if you aren't sharing make sure you ask for a smaller portion as they will do that for you. The pizza was lovely. It's a pizza flatbread and again, is large enough to share. The disappointment was the chicken strips. £6.50 for four measly chicken strips which I thought was expensive so I would avoid in future.

The food is just great, I thought it was just a chain pub with average food but when it came the Calamari starter were amazing and the pizza with jalapeños was so hot, juicy and tasty it was to die for.

My wife and I ate here whilst staying at the hotel. My wife has Coeliacs and as such needs a Gluten Free menu, which there wasn't one to hand. However, we spoke directly to the chef who was very helpful, and she went through all the menu with us and informed us what she could and couldn't have, and if things could be substituted if necessary. We both enjoyed a very tasty pub snack menu, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Stopped with the mrs after work for a quick bite to eat in the bar, we both had club sandwiches at £7 each with fries. Probably not the cheapest around but it was nice and the portions were a decent size. Will visit again.

friendly, speedy service at the bar and for food and we loved the burgers. Comfortable seating areas but the place is a bit dark for my taste and it was really really noisy, for what is essentially a hotel bar rather than an a pub. Sky sports on TV and music on too loud - but then I'm old! I would go back for the burgers, though.

Stayed here on and off for 2 months and found nearly all the staff very friendly and helpful. Food was a good standard but not the best selection on the menu's for healthy eating especially on the bar menu, but in all fairness when you stay at a hotel for that long you have eaten everything on the menu a few times over. The gym was as good as you could ask for, even in January you did not have to wait to get on a machine at peak times. Pool was nice but did get busy at times.Rooms were ok but some rooms did get cold as the heating turns off after a hour???? And hotel in general is very dark, think the manager is very energy conscious. On the whole a good hotel and would stay again for buisness

After a visit to the Crematorium with family members, we called in at the Costa Coffee shop in the Village Hotel for - a coffee. Not surprisingly, with this being a popular hotel and leisure spa, Saturday morning was quite busy, with 1 member of staff to cope with the hordes. Most customers in the coffee shop were in 1s and 2s, occupying tables for 4, and all tables were strewn with debris, uncleared by absent staff. The queueing system meant fighting your way back through the queue once you had made your purchases - chaotic.A trip to Reception gave us the suggestion of going into the bar to sit. Although cleaning was in progress, the table we chose had been attended to, but it was hard to tell. Sticky ?? The varnish could swallow your elbows.Expensive coffee and croissants made this a thoroughly miserable visit, which will be the last.

I regularly eat here at lunch times with colleagues from work. It's in a convenient location on the business park. We tend to favour the £5.95 lunch menu, which includes a meal and a drink. Not always the best quality, but doesn't deter us from going!

Nice for a quick lunch but tables look a bit scruffy and menus are a bit sticky. Needs a revamp in my option. Staff are helpful and food is pretty good for quick pub food.

We visited this establishment for a reunion yesterday. I was charged £11.50 for a large glass of red and a pint of lime and soda. I'll say it again £11.50. £11.50. Stunned. Ridiculous. The decor is nice but not £11.50 nice.

Me and my friends stayed at the village hotel last weekend but couldn't get a table in the restaurant so we went into the bar and stayed there till late. The team there were excellent especially the two brothers who were very polite and made me and my friends feel very welcome.

Went along for business lunch - after a 45 min wait for food - still nothing.......asked where food was......it then arrived.....a feeble apology.....dreadful. With only an hour lunch - had to leave hungry - carrying out food takeaway. The food was actually quite good......just would have been nice to have eaten it in the restaurant.

I've been here a few times now with family and the service had been sooooo bad. Am sat here waiting for food supposed to be at the table for 1315 and its now 1335. Part of a spa day experience not a great start. My familys food turned up first and so now I have to eat on my own. This place needs stronger management, a course in both customer service and time management.....

Fantastic breakfast. Unfortunately the Roast beef dinner was cold, poor quality and exceptionally disappointing. I did try to explain to a staff member but just got "oh" as a response.

Service in the cafe was quite bad, I think it's because we didn't want to sit on the high chairs (due to mobility issues) so waitress had to clean another table and then totally ignored us and served others that came in afterwards, had to go and ask someone to take our order and they didn't seem very pleasant throughout, food was OK when we finally received it but we'll overpriced.

Went to this subway today, staff are so rude. Threw my salad into the box and rushed my husband when he was ordering his sub, when we asked if the bottles are in the meal deal we got a massive sigh and a response of “yes it always has been nothing has changed” food was a mess and wrapped like a child did it. Will not be returning appealing service

Who is the chef in this joint? He,or she ( can you call a women chef? Or is it chefette?) Who knows. Anyhoo, only ordered a plate of chips but 👌 Crispy, sure, fluffy on the inside, you better believe they were, all washed down with a pint of the amber nectar. Get this person on master chef, tout suite.
