Had a function here with work. Was ok, nothing to get excited about, food was nice. Staff were either very friendly or rude and closed bar and music much earlier than expected. Toilets were poor.

Un lugar muy encantador. Tan complacientes, amables personas acogedoras. Me encantó el personal que se presentó y nos aconsejó sobre bebidas y nos dijo sobre el lugar. Un poco caro, pero ese gran ambiente

Had a work Christmas do here. It’s a fascinating venue, intimate but not crowded, which offered excellent service. Certainly a little out of the ordinary and well worth a try

I had wanted to try the Victorian Bath house for ages, then yesterday (Friday 26th) on the spur of the moment, last minute, my husband called to see if we could book a table (it’s appointment only). I was delighted that they could fit is in for 6.30pm, so we excitedly jumped into an Uber to make our way there. When we arrived there was no knowledge of our booking (made 20 minutes before) so they rushed us to an available table near to the entrance and promptly disappeared without a word. She soon re-appeared with two glasses of sparkling wine which were quickly placed in front of us and again disappeared before we could speak. She seemed in a rush so we thought we’d give her a minute to come back with maybe a menu, so waited, but nothing. Unfortunately we didn’t want the sparkling wine which we hadn’t asked for so sat in our draughty spot waiting for our waitress to return. After a while it felt too cold to sit there so we looked to see if there were any other seats further inside. We soon discovered it was fairly draughty everywhere. I’m pretty sure the air conditioning was on. Still no menu or attention from waitressing staff so we left our drinks along with the Victorian Bath house. So very disappointed - I had read some good reviews and wanted so much for it to be good.

I had heard of this venue over some time but only went there last night for the first time and I loved it. Beauty under ground with good food and drinks circulating well. The company was fantastic and the venue could not organise that but even among dull people one could not fail to enjoy the Victorian Bath House!

Attended an event here, and the venue is a surprise, what was an old Turkish bath, lots of original features. Its very high on quirky appeal, which makes it a great venue for events. Staff seem pretty good as well

Booked it for my birthday to try something new. Loved it. The service was excellent. We were given cocktails on arrival, moved to a more comfortable booth, Prosecco as a birthday treat and tasters of some of the spirits. The buttered rum was gorgeous. Had a lovely evening with friends and because it is a book only place, you can actually talk to each other. It didn't feel like Friday night in London. Will definitely book again.

Really gutted we didn’t get a chance to drink here. It is a stunning building and piece of history. We entered and went downstairs only to be told it’s private functions only! It’s possible to walk in only on Friday evenings. Fair play to the manager, he invited us back for a free drink the following Friday but we were only in the area for the day :( It’s stunning downstairs. Done out like a top notch Turkish baths. Very plush and very authentic. Well worth a look if in the area especially on a Friday!!

Been excited about this booking for a while. As soon as you spot it you know you are in for a fun night. Then you get shown to a table and sat down with a rhubarb wine while you read the epic menu housed within a readers digest novel. Once we’d picked a cocktail it was ordered and arrived quickly. Dark surrounding with beautiful little doves comfortable and warm lively friendly but you can still hear each other talk. Drinks are about £10 ish each and come as expected in little glasses and bottles. Delicious. The range of guns is huge and weird. Blue cheese anyone? Be warned, can’t order food. We had a few nuts and the fruit garnishes helped. What made it even better were the staff. They are amazing, so friendly helpful and knowledgable. Always available for more orders and attentive without being in your face. They really made the evening. We were in the room to the left of the bottom of the stairs but there was a bigger room to the right. The whole theme is great and we’ll be back. Thanks for a wonderful evening. Definitely recommend and remember you can’t just turn up you must book.

Our spend included cocktails at the bar and wine with dinner for 2. The Vesper cocktail that I had was perfect. Our table had a great view overlooking the rooftops and we could see many of the sights of London. We shared crispy olives as a starter with bread. The olives were out of this world delicious. For mains we both had hake, French fries and broccoli with garlic and chilli. Everything was fantastic, hot, tasty and fresh. The shared rhubarb dessert accompanied by excellent shortbread was a perfect way to end our meal. A restaurant that we will definitely return to.

Not the wine bar but the secret Crypt at Fortnum & Mason: A Private Dining Experience Worth Its Weight in Gold Leaf There are certain dining experiences that stick with you—not just for the food or the service, but for the sheer sense of occasion. The Crypt at Fortnum & Mason is one of them. If you’re looking for something a little more special than the usual hushed fine dining or predictable steak-and-claret affair, this is it. It’s intimate, exclusive, and ever so slightly surreal. Firstly, getting there is part of the magic. You’re led—quite ceremoniously—through the famous Fortnum & Mason shop, past the well-heeled shoppers fondling tins of truffled almonds and debating whether their loose-leaf oolong should be single estate. Then, at the back of the wine department, through an inconspicuous doorway, you descend into another world. The Crypt itself is pure old-school charm: all dim lighting, wine bottles lining the walls, heavy wooden tables, and grand old paintings that make you feel like Henry VIII might pop by for a goblet of something robust. It’s the kind of place where whispered conspiracies seem likely, but instead, we were there to celebrate a good friend’s 50th—eight of us, tucked away with our own playlist, our own space, and absolutely no need to worry about disturbing anyone else. And then there’s the food. This isn’t a set menu affair, but a carefully handpicked selection—tailored, considered, personal. Each course arrived with the kind of effortless grace that only the best service teams can deliver: attentive but never intrusive, knowledgeable but never patronising. Wines were paired with precision, reinforcing Fortnum’s reputation as the grand old dame of London’s luxury food scene. Three glorious hours passed in a haze of good conversation, clinking glasses, and that rare sense of truly unhurried dining. But the pièce de résistance? At the end of the night, we were escorted through the now-empty shop, past the glittering counters and silent shelves, like something out of Night at the Museum. It was a little bit magical, a little bit cinematic, and entirely unforgettable. Yes, it’s expensive. But then, some things should be. If you’re looking to truly spoil someone—or just remind yourself what dining should feel like—The Crypt is as special as they come.
