We came for brunch and the food was faultless as always!

Bit pricey and CASH ONLY The sign is small and in front of the till It should be more prominent and staff MUST tell customers BEFORE they order that payment is cash only and if this is not done then cash cannot be demanded.

Great roast dinner, reasonable price. Would go back if in the area again. Clean toilet. Friendly staff. Dinner was hot. Coffee was lovely. Not fancy but good food for fair price. £12.50 for roast dinner with generous portions

Had a very nice brunch here today. Good food with a great location. Very affordable. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. Order was taken at the table, and the food arrived very quickly. More than I could eat in one sitting. Café seems popular.

Very good selection of food for every taste, this time I had the healthy breakfast with an americano with hot milk, the food and the coffee were excellent!

Excellent breakfast meal, Value for money price included tea or coffe which was such a change these days not being ripped off. lovely staff. The chef was working so hard and everything was freshly cooked. Best breakfast out in a long time.

1st impression was nice and clean, and great menu choice. We went for massive roast dinners at £11.50 each, lots of tender meat and properly cooked veg. Very busy, but food still served within 15 mins, nice and hot too, and all the better for a lovely well-behaved ginger cat that pops in and out. Cash only, but 2 ATMs very near.

Huge portions of good tasty food, friendly staff great service.

Was visiting Brightlingsea and went to Victoria’s for lunch. My wife had a Spanish omelette and I had lasagna. The food was very tasty, with good serving sizes. Staff were attentive and friendly. Menu choice was wide ranging, with something for everybody.

Always good value and food is plentiful

Is this the best cafe we’ve visited? Quite possibly… a huge varied menu, all the items we ordered were homemade and delicious and the portion sizes were huuuge! They welcomed us and our two dogs happily. The service was friendly, helpful and rapid, with our order arriving very quickly. The prices were very very good too, £50 for 4 of us including drinks.

Found this little gem during our camping holiday- fantastic service, great portion size and reasonable prices - coffee was absolutely gorgeous. A must if your visiting Brightlingsea!

I'm a frequent user of this cafe in my home town and you can get some great value breakfasts and meals here. The staff are friendly, service good and there's lots of tables inside with plenty of room. The portions are very generous and it serves the biggest and best cappuccino in town in my opinion! I recently had lunch here, the Cajun chicken with a huge side salad and rice (you could choose chips instead of rice); it was really good! Just be aware, this cafe only takes cash, no cards accepted.

Amazing place, great atmosphere, very kind, friendly staff, but I can only give 4 stars as I can't eat aggs and fish and there wasn't plant-based food options without them, even if you choose your own. Can you add something vegan to the menu please? Had a great time with my friend though. Lovely cafe.

Great all-day breakfast with a warm welcoming relaxing atmosphere. The price is fair for the amount you get the only downfall is cash only but theres cash machines close by..

Best cafe in the town and so grateful for the effort they went to for my little boy’s breakfast before school today. Happy to accommodate our table of 13 as soon as they opened the doors and even let the children personalise their breakfasts. The food was perfect and came out quickly so that we could get to school on time. The complimentary cake and candle was so lovely too. Love this place!

A very busy cafe and I can see why. A massive menu and great prices Had garlic chicken grill which was like a kebab with pitta, salad, chips and hummus. Delicious

This cafe was a great place and the Staff were very friendly . We had a roast Dinner and it was extremly enjoyable , plenty of food on the plate and the price was very very reasonable . Tea was good .

Absolutely the worst service, rude waitress and food not any better. Plates swimming in vinegar from pickled cabbage soaking the rest of the food, a panni that is actually a baguette, mentioned concerns to waitress totally disinterested muttered something and vanished, wouldn't recommend to a gutter rat.

A few reviews say meals are expensive. You are joking are you not? A pub restaurant will charge you anything from 25% to 50% more, depending on the menu and it won't be as tasty or as plentifull. One review says they only take cash and not card and must therefore have 'something to hide'. Rubbish! Do you know what banks charge businesses for debit/credit card payment facilities? Hundreds of ££££ even for a small family run firm and this is why the Victoria Cafe can hold prices down. They also have only one cafe to run and not a chain and this is another reason why their overhead costs are less. Some customers, and only a very small number, should think again before expressing such comments. This is a well run business with excellent staff and a menu delivering good quality food and in good quantity at all times. 10 out of 10 for the Head Chef!! Popped in for coffee with friends tday . We had a lovely time as the food was really nice and service and staff are a credit . Music was so refreshing as it was relaxing and low key. I've been quite a number of times over the past year. Each time with my baby. The staff have always been incredible, always happy to help with any requests, and even when it is super busy, everyone is served quickly. They have high chairs available for babies, and outdoor seating for the nice weather. The food portions are amazing, and the cost is really reasonable. They have a good range of options on their menu. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who fancies a good meal!

Well what a surprise this was! I will be honest we only went in because olive room next door were full. The staff in the cafe were efficient and welcoming. The menu caters for all tastes and I had an amazing chicken salad. The coffee almost equals Costa but beats it on price. Just £2.40 for a genourous flat white. My Grandson had an omelette chips and beans that I would have struggled to finish. He told the waitress the bananas milkshake was the best and we would be back. He didn't lie!

Totally recommend. Very busy on a cold Saturday lunch time, shows that it’s good. Cash only. Service was hit and miss but very friendly when waved at. We saw people that came in after us get their breakfasts, pay and leave before we got our food. Waited 40 minutes for our food. We did tip because it was very busy and the food when received was very good. We both had a breakfast with a mug of tea and two slices of toast and we paid £17.20 in total. I will visit again. Only negative - When we advised that was no toilet roll in the men’s loo some bloke I can only assume the manager as not in uniform was very sharp and said I’m very busy at this stage the cafe was only half full nothing like it was when we arrived. The staff behind the counter working hard had a completely different response and said they would sort it. The ladies / disabled toilet was interesting for a disabled person. The loo roll holder was practically on the floor and the soap dispenser I had to reach for and I’m 5ft 10 and there was soap all dripping down the wall a child or someone in a wheelchair would have got no soap.

Good basic well priced food. They do a good traditional full English cooked breakfast for a few £. Some healthy options on the menu as well. We'll worth a visit.

Food was OK but rather pricey compared to most places. The only thing that really annoyed me was the fact that they don't take card payments. It always makes me feel like a business has something to hide when they only take cash.

Food is very good, chefs seem to be able to cook anything and it's great. Service is good, prices great and only draw back is the noise of everyone talking, sometimes hard to hear...but its a minor issue

This Cafe serves 5-star food at 2-star prices. The staff, led by the charismatic Kim, are attentive and efficient. But the main reason for this review is the quality of the food. This Cafe is one of the best we have dined in. If you visit Brightlingsea and are hungry The Victoria Cafe will sate your appetite at a very competitive price. This is a 5-star review and well deserved, we will be back.

The service was poor waited outside for over 20 mins wasn't served no order taken although I went in after 10 mins to say I was sitting outsideand was promised a waitress very soon after another 12 mins I left hungry and thirsty. The gentleman that asked to share my table was served and had food by the time I drove past a few minutes later obviously my face didn't fit. Can't comment on the food as never got any. 😥😥
