Verve Hotel in Bedford

It's a builder type hotel, not the comfortable luxurious place it claims to be. It stinks of airfreshner, it's too strong and gave me a headache. Nowhere needs that level of stench if clean. I wish I'd read the reviews and possibly more importantly the attacks made to those giving honest feedback before booking, my treatment makes sense now! The broken window was fixed with Sellotape and the black mould just grew over the top. Everything is done very cheaply, the cracks are painted over, everything badly done and tired. I can forgive all that but the bedding being too small so your are touching the mattress and duvet I can't. I informed Natasha who checked and agreed it wasn't the correct bedding and brought more, she asked if I wanted to change it myself or should she? I obviously let her do it, which she did complaining the entire time, so I did help with the sheet for speed, was trying to work. I suggested maybe the duvet was in the wrong way and that could be why a third of it hung out. After she'd changed it parts of the mattress and duvet reminded uncovered, I asked her to switch the duvet cover, she needed to check with her manager first, bizare! She showed me an alternative room, the smell of airfreshner was so strong I couldn't last a minute and it had the same bedding problem. She informed me that she wasn't changing the bedding again as she wasn't housekeeping and I could put up with it or leave. She wouldn't get the manager and had no comprehension that as a guest I wasn't housekeeping either. Luckily the lady from the restaurant, Nazeema (hopefully spelt correctly) understood my predicament and that as a guest it wasn't my job to be making beds. The bed was remade, the bedding didn't fit and I was forced to sleep on the same surfaces every guest before me had. Awful. It isn't run with the guest experience, service or satisfaction in mind. I stay away a lot with work and have seen some sights but never have a been told to make my own bed or leave!!

The staff are very friendly, they can't do enough for you, Naz even put the boxing on. The food is really good and the rooms are comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

Stop using Premier Inn and Travelodge. This Hotel is exceptionally good value for money. Small touches that make the difference. Food is amazing and nicely presented.

My colleague and I stayed here for business as was only 5 minutes from where I had arranged a meeting. The rooms were only booked initially due to location in relation to where I needed to be the following morning. I was pleasantly surprised with our stay. From the first contact with the front desk to arrange our booking all the way through to check out the staff at the hotel were amazing. Natasha was especially helpful. She helped with our booking to start with, called a couple of times to finalise some payment details with us, even ended up being the person checking us in and somehow managed to take our orders and serve our table for dinner. What an absolute superstar! The hotel was spotless and had everything we needed. The shower was hot and had plenty of pressure available, the bed was comfy, Thai food in the restaurant was wonderful. Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations and was incredible value for the room. We will come again for sure. We will certainly stay here again. Many Thanks.

I had seen this place but had not booked a room. Due to a mix up I booked a room at Verve. I was so pleasantly surprised. The staff were top notch helpful and smiling all the time. The selection of food at the restaurant with English and Thai was great and it tasted lush too. This is a gem and I will be booking it again every time I am down which is most weeks. Thanks for a great experience.

Wonderful people to deal with. The staff and team are very helpful and the prices are competitive! This is true customer service at its best. The hotel is secure and ‘very cute’ ☺️ parking in the hotel is helpful is helpful as its town centre location. Walking distance to train station. Fabulous staff. Thank you.

Working away down bedford from sheffield. Sexond week of staying here. 1 of the best hotels ive stayed in. Very clean n tidy. Friendly staff from receptionists to bar staff. Rooms cleaned and tidied everyday. Highly recommend.

Arrived Sunday evening, no restaurant open, breakfast was only continental, nothing cooked unless you count the microwaved baked beans. Rooms very small and you wouldn't get in the shower if you are a larger person, tiny. Monday evening, again no restaurant open and the claimed ten minute walk to town, no way unless you are Linford christie. Tuesday the restaurant was open, Ribeye steak was thin and tasteless along with the oven chips, awful. The interior was stylish and looked food, but no atmosphere, only saw 2 members of staff in 3 days and whilst polite, not personable. Never again

Very cosy and beautiful hotel. On arrival they upgraded my room for free. The one problem was there was no cold water in shower, when I raised it staff reacted immediately. The food in the restaurant was delicious. And all hotels design was stunning.

I stayed in this splendid property for two nights. Very nice facility, private, clean, 2 minutes walk from the train station and taxi. Bathroom inside the room very clean.. congratulations to all the staff for making my stay very peaceful. Hi staff, if I ever come back to Bedford you will be my point of reference. Very highly recommended!

Traffic was noisy at night. Only secondary glazing. Choice of mu Thai or English.

This place is a gem, we have stayed there a few times with work, and the way they look after you is second to no place, the food is the best you will get within miles, it is 5 star food, the staff are so helpful, Amire is the manager, what a job he does, and the girls he has with him are adorable, thanks for everything you do for us

Have stayed here before and would always choose Verve for every visit. Love it here every single time.

Not very impressed at all, family room had the wardrobe in the shower. The shower was small and not very inviting. The restaurant was closed,bar had only bottled beers Won't be staying again.

Loved it here!!! Rooms are comfortable and clean, staff are friendly and informative, smells great…honestly I don’t have a single thing to complain about. - From stay to finish it was a wonderful and relaxing experience.
