Great experience from start to finish. Parking easy and cheap, check in smooth, staff very friendly and helpful, room excellent (spacious, comfortable, quiet, great bathroom and aircon). Location perfect for town centre and great views over the river and town. Very cost effective trip. Highly recommend this hotel.

Well located, good breakfast and ok food availability but.... problem with the external top flip windows that wouldn't close and under strong wind kept banging making impossible to sleep. tried quick fix with towels and lace but worked for only few minutes, need replacement or weld the hook back to the rusted frame. Room 412 BTW. Dont know if other rooms ave same problems. Alerted front desk.

Rooms are looking a bit dated. Air con machine in room was very loud. Taps for shower were worn and took a lot of effort to turn on and off. 2 nights had ordered room service that never arrived. One night ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower which came with a very long hair. Staff were very polite and pleasant but the experience wasn’t great. £5 a night parking fee was a shock.

Initially, I encountered an issue with my booking and requested a partial refund. I was informed that the matter would be resolved the following morning with the presence of a duty manager. However, upon my return for the refund, I was denied due to a policy that contradicted the information I had previously received. Money-grabbing priorities. Furthermore, I had specifically requested a refrigerator in my room, only to find it was a filthy, bacteria-infested unit. The central heating system was inoperative, resulting in frequent calls to reception, both by phone and in person, to have the room temperature adjusted. The general attitude of the reception staff conveyed a sense of indifference as if they were doing me a favour, while one manager consistently displayed a stoic demeanour. The bar staff were notably the most pleasant, and the maintenance manager. Additionally, I experienced persistent bites from some things in the bed. It was mentioned that phones had been removed from rooms during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is no longer a relevant issue. The TV guide was non-functional, and the kettle required descaling, further contributing to my overall dissatisfaction with this hotel.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear the this hotel does not treat its guests warmly. I was charged an early arrival fee (it is hotel policy), which has never happened before in thousands of hotel nights, and the room was frigid (16 C) and I needed to constantly adjust the thermostat throughout the week. On the other hand, breakfasts were great, although they did not have takeaway cups for coffee (?!?). The room was nice, large, clean, and comfortable. The worst was the wifi (an essential service for travellers) was down for over 24 hours, with no apology, no partial refund, no bonus ALL points, nothing.

overall we were really pleased with this hotel. had a suite as were staying with our kids so had a large bed and a sofa bed. sofa bed wasn't the comfiest but room was clean and tidy and well kitted out. breakfast was lovely and location was perfect for us. main issue was fire alarm going off twice over night which woke us and the children up and upset our 4 year old. apparently it was due to people smoking in rooms. staff were apologetic but being woken at 3am was rather frustrating.

I had an unexpected visit at the hotel late on a Saturday night. Booked through booking.com. I really enjoyed my stay. Room service was pizza, so decided to walk into town for a late night snack Pepe's was open after midnight. Bedford is on the river Ouze as is the hotel. Looked nothing special from the outside. 70's build, but had been modernised inside to a very competitive standard. Very comfy massive bed, clean towels and a really great double size rain shower. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff I met were professional and friendly. Parking was at the rear of the hotel and priced at £5. As it was a third party company. The hotel is right on the river, But high up, so no risk of flooding. The town is just over the bridge, and very easy to walk to. The river and parks surrounding are also beautiful and in the summer time would be a fantastic place to be, picnic, walk or run. Swans sail on the river and tow paths mean you can walk alongside. I didn't eat at the hotel but saw the modern dining room (Revel) which was located on the first floor. There was a bar and much modern communal seating. The hotel gave a very comfortable relaxed stay. Check out was 12 and there were working lifts to assist moving around. There are huge stairs to the front of the property. The rear has a ramp, wide entrance and lifts to the upper floors. I would definitely revisit this hotel and met others there whom had visited many times. It felt like I was on a city break. Bedford has class and areas not so. It's a real hotchpot of characters, architecture and different cultures but, somehow maintains it's English charm. It's on the Thameslink train line from London and Luton airport. It was really good value for money, had great views and high standards. Tea and coffee was also present in the room. As was aircon and heating.

London - Bedford October 2024 Mercure Hotel fantastic location just a short walk from Bedford centre. Good quality hotel, very polite and professional staff. The rooms are a little old and need redecorating. I hate the carpet everywhere in the rooms which is a concentration of dirt and various mites; but it is an English characteristic. The "Privilege room with 1 king size bed" on the 5th floor that we occupied for a week (n° 503) has an incredible view of the river and the city. Daily cleaning and changing towels, unfortunately the daily cleaning was terrible, dirt reigned everywhere. The room is equipped with air conditioning and inverter for heating. An absolutely NEGATIVE note goes to the breakfast. Horrible always the usual "slop" every morning: beans, sausages and overcooked eggs in addition to the "sweet section" made up exclusively of very small and insignificant brioches frozen and prepared in the electric oven a few minutes before. Clean and quiet breakfast room as well as the wonderful view (with glass wall) of the river below. The price paid for the room, around 120 euros per night, seemed excessive both for the structure as a whole and for the horrible breakfast.

I really appreciate Moynul, Elisabet and Aiysha’s help when I checked in. I booked via my employer’s portal and for some reason the booking was made twice. Moynul kindly cancelled the other room for me after knowing the booking was a mistake. This really saves my day and I truly appreciate the kind help! Will definitely come back for my future business travel! Got a king size room with lovely view of the river. The room is spacious. Breakfast has a diverse range as well, and it is nice seeing the swans swimming while having the meal.

Great hotel!! Went to a function there recently and they whole stay and event was superb. The hotel is a bit old fashioned looking on the outside but the location is brilliant with superb views across the river and to the historic town centre The function room was jaw dropping, the staff all helpful and the breakfast was as good as hotel buffet breakfasts get. In fairness one guest next to me asked for some fresh eggs and they bought them straight out for her. Big car park next door as well. Great value option

Rooms were nice, the bed as always with accor hotels was amazing. Overall an awesome stay. Thank you

Room 201 does not work for sleeping. X6 air conditioning vents 1ft from the window. Should not be a letting room. Like having your head drilled for 8 hours. Have just waited 90 minutes for the night manager to see what they can do……and just been informed they are off shift now. What a joke. You might get lucky, but is it worth the risk?

First time staying at this hotel. We were there for a wedding and decided to book an extra night. The room was lovely however the bathroom very small and dated. The first night the fire alarm went off at 2.30am due to a guest smoking in one of the rooms. Breakfast was ok we asked for vegetarian sausages and were given bbq burgers instead we weren’t told about the menu at breakfast and we could order omelettes etc. we then used the toilets on 1st floor by the restaurant and they were horrendous and filthy. The wedding was done nicely however the next morning at breakfast we used the toilets in reception and again they were filthy and not cleaned after the wedding with used tissues on the floor one toilet was blocked and the sinks extremely dirty. I’m a travel agent and will definitely not be recommending this hotel. Even for a bottle of water I was told would be at a charge of £2.50. Absolute joke! Not worth the money I paid.

Arrived Saturday pm 27th April. Collapsed on bed to chill out with TV. No signal! Reception sent up a young man who kindly got Channel 5 working and we thanked him. After he had gone we tried other channels but nothing found. Even CH 5 disappeared. Reception: "No maintenance man till Monday". Only staying the one night! I emailed the manager and on Monday got a response, apology and a discount (thanks for that). BUT I REALLY DO THINK YOU SHOULD CHECK THE TV WORKS BEFORE EACH NEW GUEST SINCE THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY SIGNAL/CABLE PROBLEMS IN THAT ROOM (511). Found this hassle really annoying after a long drive! Didn't stay here, so cant speak for the rooms but attended for a small corporate event held in a seminar room. Seminar facilities were good. Parking was available on site, although limited spaces and controlled by ANPR managed by private firm. Despite registering my vehicle details with reception i had a parking fine sent to me a few days later. Mercure's customer services however were really helpful and quickly sorted it out when i emailed them. All in, as a meeting business venue i would recommend.

The staff are lovely but the hotel is run down! The room I was in had single pane aluminium window that rattled in the wind and didn't stop any noise. It was a dark room even with the light on and backed onto the rowing club who had work outs at 6am! The bathroom was so cramped you had to sit on the toilet to close the door and then get into the shower. When the toilet roll was full you had to take it off the holder to be able to manoeuvre around the toilet it was that cramped. The sink had no plug and was covered on cracks. The corridors and stairs are all narrow and the doors heavy or not possible to open with one hand. It not accessible at all if you have reduced mobility. I was in room 24. The bed was incredibly comfortable though and the breakfast tasty.
