I’ve been a member at the gym for 6/7 years now, and can honestly say the state the restaurant has never been so bad! The last 5 times I’ve either not got my food at all, came out cold or ungarnished, or took forever and in an empty bar! The restaurant has gone massively down hill and can’t see it improving any time soon! If you’re using the hotel or gym, make sure Starbucks is open, cos that’s the only place you’re gonna get some half decent food! Peace

Just dreadful! Lack of bar staff so waited 15 minutes to get served and then on second pint made the mistake or ordering food! 50 minutes later there’s more chance of seeing the Lock Ness monster than my overpriced burger! AVOID at all costs #simples

We booked in for dinner as we were staying over the road at the much cheaper Holiday Inn Express. We walked in, it was fairly busy but not overly for a Friday night. We stood at the bar to get a drink, there were two extremely slow bar staff who weren't taking any notice of the people stood at the bar waiting to be served. Not once did they look up and acknowledge customers, after 15 minutes we left. Went back to the Holiday Inn Express, got served a drink with a smile and then had something to eat.

My son has been on about me beast burgers for a while now. He watches YouTube where he first heard about them and recently they have been released to the village hotels. He had been asking me to take him for a while. We decided to go this evening to have a look. As they wasn't on the menu we went and asked at the bar where we was greeted by two members of staff. Michelle was so lovely and helpful. She took interest in asking how my son had heard about them took his order and made his day! She was so lovely, my son (Harry 7yrd old) said she was the loveliest lady he had ever met. Great customer service thank you!

the sandwiches inside starbucks are better than the food they serve here. staff ar emore bothered about chatting than giving decent service

Ordered online and waited half hour before checking they’d received our order. They hadn’t bothered looking. Carolina reaper wings were divine as were the buffalo tenders. Bar wasn’t busy so couldn’t explain the poor service.

Seriously guys don’t waste your money on any food at the bar & grill. Probably the worst experience I have ever had. So over priced as well.

Went for a quick drink after using the Gym, waited for 20 minutes to be served. only 3 people in front of me ordering just drinks. Blond girl behind the bar messing about with the drip tray for ages, guy with a beard couldn’t work the till. When I got served by the guy with the beard I had a pint of Bud and after he had poured my drink I asked for it at the reduced price under the Red Card promotion, the guy said I had to use the App. I told him that I had tried to use the App to order 5 times but it was not working tonight. The guy looked confused and just mumbled. So I told him to forget it and I would go somewhere else. So he poured the pint away. Rubbish service.

The bar/restaurant is one huge room in sports-bar style. Quite Noisy. Can be a long wait to order food & drinks at the bar. Food OK but like all hotels a bit over-priced.

We were greeted by a lovely lady named Michelle .who was so pleasant and professional. It was a pleasure being served by her .we had Sunday lunch which was lovely .Michelle is a credit to your company

Nice place to be honest, cheapish and the food was great to be honest. Pizza was lovely and the onion rings and chips were not at all greasy like.most places. Would go again.

I always try and stay in the Village as it’s close to our office, but I find their rooms and beds the most inviting and comfortable in Swindon. There’s a gym etc if you chose to use it and the menu is varied enough to suit all tastes. The breakfast is really nice and the staff are always pleasant, and the rooms have massive LCD TVs in them.

Although my rating for the Hotel is Average the food at Verve Grill. is very good. Cannot fault it. The only down side to this visit, other Diners who came in after us ordered, ate and left before we did.

We have had Sunday lunch twice and was looked after by a lovely lady named Tammy .that we decided to stay for a night for our anniversary. When we upgraded to a club room as you had sky and a coffee machine and bottled water .but that all changed now no water no coffee machine we went to our room put TV on no sound. went down to reception and they gave us another room . later a man knocked on our door and said for all the trouble we had and gave us a galaxy bar and a bottle of white wine .and he said they will refund meal money we paid..now that's fantastic service. When we went down for breakfast we were given a glass of fizz each with a strawberry in . thank you so much to all at the village hotel it certainly made our 41st anniversary to remember ..well done to Tammy and all staff

Plenty of choice on menu. Big screens to watch sports and a special cinema style area to sit and watch a HUGE screen.Food was ok it's a grill and not a posh restaurant and prices average. There is a gym and a pool. Popped in to eat as I was in holiday Inn next door and their menu had been exhausted...Nice place...

I had pork skewers they were bland and had no taste. They came with chips. The chips were practically cold. Very poor food for what they charge.

Ordered the warm Thai chicken noodle salad for around £10. The chicken was beyond dry, it took carving to get through it and was completely unappetising - very disappointed

What a complete makeover in the bar restaurant wow it's so nice, big open space for customers to stand or sit while sport is on the big screens, the restaurant is better than before more room the bar has got cinema seats for the sport on big screen what a nice place to visit

As a new member of the Village gym, we had decided to try the restaurant for our Sunday lunch but our treatment was so bad, I am even considering canceling my membership because I don't want anything to do with a company that can treat vegetarians as poorly as I was treated this week.

I stayed for a couple of nights last week and ate at the restaurant in the Village Hotel. The food as usual was delicious and presentation like fine dining.

We visited to look at the menu and found a Burger Joint however there is a restaurant just past the Bar. The meal we had was well presented, delicious and beautifully ample, the Pineapple Crumble was out of this world MMMMhhhhhh.

Spent most of the day working from The Village.

The food, TERRIBLE!! Don’t bother eating from there pub/restaurant, the quality is beyond bad and seriously over priced. We paid £38 for re-heated chicken, chips that tasted like rubber and chicken wings that were tasteless and cold. While waiting for the food i went to the bar, the lady walked off and then returned with my drinks, i paid £5 for two very small drinks in dirty glasses. Not only that, i had to take one coke back to explain it was luke warm and completely flat - to be told "oh thats strange i just poured it out a can" she then went on to pour another glass from a can handed me the glass and left the can on the side... i wonder why my first coke was flat...

Ok for a business visit, food ok service below par but to be honest what do you expect for a business trip. Wouldn’t come here for a leisure trip but there again will suit some. Good location next to the M6 jnc10 to visit other attractions.....not bad!

Yes it was good the food was good service was good price was good and the ambience was good however it was as if they wanted you to go to get other people in

If you think that £16 for burger and chips is great value, head on down here immediately. You can eat it in a corporately decorated eatery, aimed at business people who can probably claim it back on expenses. Hard to think of anything that was actually wrong but equally hard to think of a reason why I'd want to rush back.

I stay at this hotel regularly through the year and always look forward to eating in the restaurant!! The staff are always attentive, especially Matt who has a great balance of rapport with professional etiquette that you don’t normally find in these hotel/restaurant establishments!! The food isn’t the cheapest, however, it is always top quality and served with aplomb (I especially recommend the Teriyaki Salmon) well done to all♥️❣️❤️

Menu for above is somewhat restricted but you can always get something you like. Well served by cheerful and attentive staff.

If you go early you might find as I did there was more staff than customers this is a good thing meaning you get served more quickly so I was surprised when my Ham egg and chips had very dry chips as if they had being kept warm under a lamp?

We popped into this place but found it confusing as it's not a resturant or a bar but very mixed up serving burgers and fried food. Not very cheap unless you arrive on a deal night.

We had a meal here after a horrendous 3 and half hours trip from Liverpool during storm Doris. We ordered 3 bar snack meals and could not believe the price paid when we actually saw the meals arrive. They truly were "Bar Snacks" at Restaurant prices we had paid £42.00 for just 3 small bar snack meals - this was our one and only visit to the Verve - very poor value for money

We went for the Girls at Grille meal option which was 2 courses plus a glass of prossecco each at only £29 for 2. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was tasty and generous size portions. The restaurant was quiet and had a lovely calm ambience.

Called in to have a drink and decided to eat our evening meal in the bar. Friday night offered a burger for £1 when buying a drink, which is not technically true but cheap enough once a few accompaniments were added. The burgers were well seasoned and actually tasted good considering the price. Prices for some of the food was expensive for what was served especially our starters. We decided against eating in the restaurant due to the high prices and limited choice.

I stayed here on business and the company pay a £25 a night meal expense, most menu items such as a steak are £22.50 so my allowance doesn't go far. I ate here for a week and every dinner was consistently bad. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were chewy like rubber bands and tasted very old. I had ribs one night and it was like the sauce was a thick chocolate spread and way too much of it. I have never tasted such stale chips and the cabbage in the coleslaw was going brown so all in all the restaurant is a disaster. The hotel itself is good but you would do very well to eat at the KFC or anywhere else really. The restaurant was near to empty for a good reason and I saw quite a few takeaway dinners arriving so others agree. I'm from the SE by the way so I'm used to expensive restaurants but the cost is definitely not justified here. Sack the chef and employ someone who gives a toss as the current chef clearly has no passion for his work.

Tried a few times but still terrible, average price £15 for a main course.The portions are tiny 4 prawns in some pasta what a joke, beer and burger£20 you're having a laugh!Anyone thats a regular that stay's overnight never eats in the place and the restaurant is usually empty.

Was very angry with the was staff was rude coffee machine not working no baby cot no hot breakfast they told us we was late and they was closing but let us sit down but provided cold food the whole stay was a nightmare never again. Very rude staff who answered the call

Booked Sunday lunch,waited ages to be seated,restaurant was like a bomb site,food very poor,no staff had to clear our own tables,dessert a joke,waited ages to pay real disappointing would not go there again or recommend it

We look this place every year for the family to meet prior to Christmas and enjoy a meal together We were shown to our table and had just got ourselves seated when on the next table a fight broke out between to rival traveler families which resulted in one of the party having a knife drawn on him and his hand slashed The police were called and the car park was full of police cars and cans and the people concerned being taken awayNot a good start to our meal and I was unable to relax and enjoy it as we had elderly parents with us and children There was a good selection of starters and a choice of three meats on The carvery. We chose this hotel as it is central and always happy with the hotel and staff but will be finding an alternative venture for our get together next yearExtremely disappointed

My colleague and I visited for lunch. In an effort to be good, I ordered the super food salad ,£9. It was really disappointing. Really small portion, bland tasting, it looked like it had been thrown in the bowl, half the bowl as the other half was empty.It consisted of mainly cucumber, mint leaves, a small spoonful of quinoa and a few pieces of broccoli. Should of had a club sandwich with chips to be honest, it looked nice!

Third and probaley last time at the village for Boxing day meal with family,this year we were moved to a back function room that seems to be used for corperate meetings and with the same atmosphere.Room rather chilly when first seated when staff were told said heating would come on at 1.pm the meal was supposed to start at 12.30pm.Starters were quite pleasant but why pork pie,main meal was quite badly cooked with hard roast potatoes the rest of the food was barely warm.Also the bar was closed with out no anouncement,it seemed staff were trying to get people to vacate the room as soon as possible so they could get it ready for the evening disco that was being run in that room.HAd to finish our day in the foyer as bar was full of people watching football.Very disopointed with day seven people had been looking foreward to for some time.

Had a meeting here, food went down well, coffees were nice and staff were super friendly. Recommend the apple and strawberry crumble... It was a walk down memory lane :)

We have been here for a few family parties over the last couple of years but noticed that the service is getting worse.The table which after some discussion was booked for nine people was only laid for eight on arrival. Then there is the pices charged for drinks which meant we had to pay £24 for a bottle of wine which retails for an average of £6.99.The also have a board staying that it is a four course carvery when we asked for coffees at the end of the meal we were informed that there was an extra cost for these. Apparently the four courses include both a hot and cold starter, main and sweet. How many people would eat two starters at meal?Really disappointed and wont be returning any time soon

This place serves disgusting food, the food is plasticy and rubbishy pre prepared frozen pre packaged junk. Try it for yourself and burgers usually don't go wrong. Yet they are foul. £18 for a pint, fries a toastie and onion rings. Dreadful that we waited ages too for anyone to come and ask the usual question.. Is everything alright with your food or come and collect your plates when you've finished and ask then but we waited over 45 mins after eating and still no one came so we just left, leaving most of our food un-eaten. Would not recommend. I would probably say this is the worst place I have eaten in my life and i'm a well traveled professional now with just under 10 years college and uni under my belt and I have ate in some places!

I have visited this venue since it was built, it is a great place to meet for food and drinks when travelling to meet business people its in the heart of England and you can be there in just over two hours nearly anywhere and direction in the UK well worth it

We had booked a table for 15 people, for a special Birthday celebration meal as the group were on business and staying nearby. some of us chose the stuffed mushroom at around £6.50 only to get 5 button mushrooms that had 1/2 a teaspoon of so-called stuffing added and a pot of what I can only describe as a dry reduction of tinned tomatoes!For the mains I had the bbq ribs which were cooked well and tasted good but accompanied by a small butter pot size of Slaw and tepid fries. One colleague ordered the seared tuna which arrived pale but dry, didn't even go near the searing irons! she was told company policy says the Tuna has to be cooked through! Another colleague ordered the fillet steak but was not asked how she'd like it, when she told the waitress of her preference she was told it comes as it comes!!!When the food did arrive we were all shouted at and told to LISTEN, so the waitress could give the right food to the right people!!!! I have never felt so humiliated and embarrassed for the fella whose 50th Birthday celebration it was! Never again!

We weren't staying at the hotel but ventured in for a drink and a look around. We were pleasantly surprised with the burger deal but you did have to buy a drink to qualify. The burger was £1, add cheese and bacon for a little extra and the add chips again for a little extra. 4 drinks and 4 burgers with chips around £27.00. The bar staff were very friendly and approachable. We would certainly visit again if we were in the area.

Back once again in the area while working away. Came over to eat. The food was good as was the service. The staff have got in nailed. No doubt I'll be back tomorrow

We had our food which was very nice however although the bar was not busy and plenty of bar staff and waitress on our plates were left on the table for 30 minutes we cleared them ourselves!! One of the bar staff had her children and husband in the bar they were running around screaming for mummy. Such a shame as reggae was playing in the bar

After an awful long trip up the motorway to reach our hotel for our exhibition the next day we really didn't fancy dining out which was the plan, so we opted for in house. We were surprised by the quality of the food and the service exemplary, thank you Kevin. I would happily dine in again.

We ordered 3 meals one with steak and 2 with chicken. The steak was good but the chicken meals were unfit for consumption.

As we were in a group there were different orders placed I had fish, chips and mushy peas. The fish was mainly batter with a small piece of fish inside. The plate was over flowing with chips I suppose to make up for the tiny bit of fish. The mushy peas had been microwaved to death and were a solid lump not something you could eat. Would not eat in the restaurant again. Saying that the hotel it's self is really nice and the staff were really pleasant and friendly my only complaint would be the food

Ham hock starter for dinner was nice but the crisp bread no substitute for proper fresh, piping hot toast. Main course of BBQ rack with hickory sauce and chips plus coleslaw was a disaster. What was I thinking about? Over cooked, no discernible pork flavours, sticky to eat so I really am struggling to find words of praise.Breakfast buffet was OK and the chef did produce fried bread for me and some freshly fried eggs so staff were alive to customers whims. Coffee hot but tasteless, we are all accustomed to better morning caffeine fixes than this.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and eager to please. The food is cooked to a very high standard but is on the pricey side.

Stayed at the Village on business and was looked after wonderfully by the staff at the Verve. The food was amazing and the waiting staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough. Thoroughly recommended!

If your vegetarian don't bother... One choice on the menu ..Chickpea,spinach & sweet potato curry £12.50According to the waiter another option was take out the fish in a dish and just add vegetables.Over priced, shabby and tired decor.Staff were polite and friendly.Hotel bar was dirty, tables waiting to be cleaned, food on floor and dirty seats.A very disappointing Saturday evening !!

We had dinner in the Verve grill as our room was booked with a meal deal. The food was lovely and we couldn't fault it. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We used the buffet for our evening meal on Easter Sunday. The staff were brilliant. We were disappointed as the menu was exactly the same as the one in Cheadle. Also the board by the till clearly displayed the price but it was £3 each more expensive for eating that day. The bill shows we had a burger!to put on the extra charge. They could at least have covered up the board. Also it's company policy to close the blinds at 6 pm which was duly done. It didn't seem to matter that we had sunshine at that time for the first time this year. So a bit of extra thought by the management would have made this a better experience. The food was lovely but if we had known it was exactly the same probably would have ate somewhere else.

Service is very poor. Firstly they only bring out one dish, after asking where the other dish was for my partner she said she could only see one. My partner ordered the broth with only about 4 tiny slices of beef, certainly not worth £14.95 with no waiter or waitress to ask for a spoon most of it had to be left. We then asked for the menu so we could order another main,again left for 30 to 40 minutes later no one returned, we left without placing another order. They wasn't under staffed, and only 3 tables to look after. I feel disappointed in the level of service, and lack of care for their customers. Lack of presence, somethings that management needs to take a good hard look at.

Very poor menu with some pretentious concoctions, food slow to arrive, overpriced. Fortunately there is a KFC only 400 yards away.

Sunday carvery the best I've ever had. Food, service comfort, atmosphere were excellent. Four courses plus coffee £12.95. Highly reccommend. Try and enjoy.

A fairly limited menu, but all done very nicely. Having stayed a number of times whilst in the area on business recently, have tried most of the menu options. A bit pricey for what they are in my opinion, especially the steaks, but very nicely cooked, and some fun options in the side dishes which could easily be overlooked but worth trying I think. All in all, good quality for standard Hotel fare.

Taking advantage of the captive audience of hotel guests this serves up an interesting sounding menu, at inflated prices, and with serious variations in quality of food.We were a big group but we did wait 90 minutes from ordering for the mains to arrive. The fact we were brought garlic bread "compliments of the chef" was a clear sign food was going to be delayed. And when it did arrive the prospect of further delays was a barrier to sending anything back. Portions were small.Eating here wil make your stay expensive. Find somewhere else.

My mum always stays at the hotel when visiting us so we regularly go for Sunday lunch , the carvery is lovely all the meats usually 3 types are cooked beautifully and always a lovely selection of vegetables....pudding is great too.

We visited the village for breakfast food was very nice, self service buffet style. All good was of a good quality and good selection on offer, hot drinks and fruit juices included. Good level of service overall a good breakfast, would recommend.

Soup was expensive and carrot coriander was like hot curry. Chicken was bland we ate it as we were hungry but it was not nice and it had a lot of grease in the bacon

Me, my other half and our 4 month old visited last night after deciding we wanted to go out for food. We rang about half an hour before and were very grateful to be able to get booked in at such short notice.On arrival the girls had obviously had a very busy night but were coping well.Our meal took way too long to arrive, 50 minutes infact, personally i dont think that was acceptable.I really enjoyed my meal i had a chicken burger, though my partners sirloin was over priced for the size.

The village is a great place for a few drinks with friends or a family meal. Wouldn't recommend for a romantic meal for a couple though. It's very clean and food is delicious also service is always faultless! The Sunday carvery is excellent value as get 3/4 courses starter,main,dessert,after dinner cheese and crackers all included. The drinks and normal menus are slightly pricey but you expect that as your are in a hotel. Always a pleasure to go to the village.

Visited last night as staying in holiday inn express next door. Service from waitress and host very good, comfortable venue. Was quite shocked by prices....£16 for all pasta dishes, £14 for cheese & bacon burger which was least expensive item on menu. Was expecting great things at such prices. Sorely disappointed as small portion s and poor quality dishes.. No garlic in chicken Kiev and darn of salmon not fillet! Think they are taking advantage of lack of nearby competition. Would not recommended

Went here with a friend as a last minute thing a few weeks ago. We chose to visit this particular eating establishment due to the convenient location. On arrival the waitress was friendly, we were offered drinks but then were abandoned with a menu for 15 mins, no one took our order until prompted. I opted for a pasta dish which was edible, although a microwave meal would probably have tasted just as good (and cost much less). My friend ordered the fish and chips which again, were edible but really nothing special. In my opinion you'd be better off saving your money and getting a ready meal from your local supermarket.

Give this restaurant a try I think you will be surprised at the quality of it all there wasn't any thing I didn't like but loved the idea of themed nights curry burgers and love that there was a Starbucks in the lobby

We have used this hotel on a number of occasions Mother's Day Father's Day etc, but this visit was disappointing. The soup had to be returned as it was not warm enough, the vegetables were tasteless and when I asked the waiter for gluten free options he was unsure and failed to offer me a menu describing my options. When my daughter in law paid the bill she was charged £1 per person premium because it was Father's Day, normally the father or mother is given something, free pudding or in our case a free drink, non were included this time. We were all disappointed that the meal for a special occasion was less than satisfactory and to be charged a premium for the pleasure. We have used this hotel for many occasions and been more than satisfied but we will never use it again.

We ate here on a Saturday evening while stopping over at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. The Village has a large bar area and pleasant restaurant. I have never seen a bar area with so many TV screens, which can be distracting (particularly when your wife is talking and you want to watch the footie!).We had a very good bottle of white wine (Argento Chardonnay Viognier) in the bar area and then moved to the restaurant for something to eat. There were pluses and minuses.At first we were presented with a very limited choice restaurant menu. If you eat here you should realise that the bar menu is also served in the restaurant as we found out when we asked. This increased our choices. We did fancy garlic bread but it wasn't on the menu, so we cheekily asked whether some could be done for us. And indeed, the answer was yes, and we had delicious garlic bread with cheese as a starter. So that's a big plus.But our main courses were disappointing. I had a double burger, which was supposed to have blue cheese on it. However, it was very hard to detect any. I thought for £11 this was expensive. My wife and daughter each chose steak and although it was cooked perfectly one of the steaks have a very large quantity of fat in it. So these were big negatives.Service was very pleasant (although being referred to as "guys" every other sentence became a little irritating) and the ambiance of the place is good – buzzing without being too noisy.In summary, I would not make a deliberate trip to eat at this restaurant but if I were staying at the Holiday Inn across the way once more we probably would eat here again, but be careful with our menu choices.

We like this place! It's comfy, clean & relaxed, theirs a good selection of pub type food, in the bar, which is good fun & then upper class ish food should you require in the adjoining restaurant. Big screen TVs for sports fans and a very good atmosphere when their is a game on. Quieter seating out side should you require, sofas and tall chairs by the bar, small terrace mainly used by smokers. We have eaten here a few times in both and been happy each time. They were very good to my daughter too so child friendly at the right time. Will return for a hassle free even only.

A little better than standard pub fair, smaller portions than you might perhaps expect however.I ordered half peri-peri chicken and chips, the half chicken was more half poussin and the peri-peri was pleasant enough if a little bland.The chips were skinny, cooked well and tasted fine. The coleslaw was home made and because of this a pleasant surprise, although gone in a few bites.

Food in this restaurant is not very good and of dubious quality, some parts of various meals were inedible

A party of 18 went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a 80th birthday. We tried to book at the Village Dudley but the s tree add we're not engaging or helpful. Right from our first call to enquire the Walsall staff were really good and very helpful.£12-95 for a 5 course eat as much as you can variety buffet is excellent value. A good choice with regular top ups. Try it you'll like it.

The food was a poor standard.The salad was dry and at least 2-3 days old I do not know how this was served on a plate surely the chef should get dismissed and the waitress should be looking at the food she is about to serve as she is the one who is customer facing and has to deal with the complaints.Consistent quality fresh food and your business will grow.Lets get scores on the door and teach you staff about the new fir allergen regulations and put some signage in place.

I am a member of the Village Health and Leisure Club and have been since the opening of the Hotel about 10 years ago. Recently I received some vouchers as the Membership Leisure Team are offering new rates to attract potential new members, I spoke to the Gym manger Mark and he gave me the voucher pack. Out of the 7 vouchers I can only use 4 in this Hotel. I came for a mid afternoon Carvery with my wife and two year old daughter and as I have been before and I loved it we expected the Carvery to be fantastic. Boy how wrong I was !!! We were greeted at the reception of the restaurant by 3 servers, one who stated "some will be with you shortly" they then all then walked off. approximately two minutes later we were seated. She explained everything, fine. We then explained we had the vouchers, she went away to check we could use them. She returned and informed my wife we could not use them. I went up and asked why the young lady replied due to us not being a Verve Grill etc they are a "Super Pub" I continued to question her to which she responded I'm sorry it's not us these vouchers are meant to be used in other Village restaurants around the Country. I asked for the duty manager. As we were walking away the young lady in question said to her college "why do I always get those type of people?" The Duty Manger arrived and we explained what happened and we asked him to try and sort it and could we have our drinks as they had not arrived. We went for starter, soup look warm at best quite poor. Main course very poor, vegetable choice minimal, meat I had Beef which was well done and Turkey which was dry and Yorkshire Pudding cold, hard and tasteless. My wife and daughter enjoyed there dessert I had Cheesecake and it was clearly frozen then deforested very bland and tasteless. The Duty Manger returned and he apologies for the the way the Leisure Team are miss selling the voucher book and for his employees conduct. He removed the cost of one meal from our bill, which we accepted. The pluses were a restaurant member of staff Demi who asked us if everything was ok numerous times and interacted with our daughter and the duty manger. As stated I've been here before and raved about it I will not be returning here again or recommending the Carvery, extremely poor.

Our waitress Vicky went over and beyond her duties to make things extra special for us as she found out prior to our arrival of our anniversary. On our arrival she took us to a quiet corner of the restaurant where she had set up candles and sprinkled the table with Rose Petals. This just blew my wife and I away, fantastic and the meal was also. A very big thank you to Vicky. Hope to see you again. Paul and Jean Chambers.

Stayed next door at the Holiday Inn, there restaurant was closed at weekends. There were 7 of us, the food was class, pizzas, ribs and staeaks. Good choice of beer and staff were very helpfull. First class but not fine dining

despite being in a large hotel the bar prices and food costs were very reasonalbe. friendy staff . only down was not being a football fan having a number of large TV screens showing nothing buy all around the bar

Invited friends for sunday lunch,How it has changed!!!Gone are the days of quality fresh ingredients, has impeccable service and hot food, What we found, staff and waiters casually dressed in scruffy jeans, poor and slow service, and casual staffAfter being seated we made our way to the carvery, we waited nearly 5 mins to be served as the "carver" was just having a fag!!!Our meal, luke warm, even some items cold, choice has shrunk and quality has been cheapened.Dessert, no chef to cook waffles, probably having another "fag" and empty tins of cold crumble, the cake option was cheap with cold custard.Very disappointed with our visit after using this venue on many occasions, what used to be the beat carvery in walsall has now turned into one of the worst! Such a shame!!!

The food is just terrible and leaves a strange after taste. When you look at the village hotel, you expect too high end food but it's disappointing. Desserts are average. The pub food is slightly better than the restaurant.

I have some specific needs whilst at this hotel with regards to my nutrition and the hotel were fantastic they catered for my every need and I would recommend this place to everyone.

Service a bit slow sometimes but then I don't like to be rushed with my meal so it suited me.Would like more variety as I am gluten/wheat intolerant.

Unfortunately been booked in for 3 overnight stays. Rooms are clean and adequate. The restaurant can be described as woeful bordering upon the ridiculous. There is no direction, no management, and absolutely no skill. Our party of 6 waited 49 minutes for starters and a further 40 minutes for the mains. My spaghetti and meatballs was cold meatballs on congealed spaghetti reminiscent of a brand of the tinned variety! Well done steaks came out mooing! Waited an additional 10 minutes for the accompaniments. Staff were informing residents of a 40 minutes wait due to "big parties" when there wasn't any more than 30 people in the restaurant. The will of the staff was there but there was zero idea of direction. Massively disappointed (and now eating flapjack in bed) Would never ever recommend to anyone!

Restaurant menu is the same as the bar menu...should I say no more!!Pathetic attempt at a steak followed by pudding topped with water (i mean custard)..Good job work is paying, please do not waste your hard earned money here..

Just visited this evening using a half price or so living social voucher. To be honest the price of £19 for two was good for the food you got. We had two courses each with a drink however any more and it wouldn't be worth it. Nothing wrong with the food but standard pub grub, expected more from a big hotel chain. Won't be visiting again unless we have a voucher!

We had a family meal to celebrate 49yrs wedding anniversary of my mother and father in law and this is a particular favourite for us all being central for everyone to meet.We all opted for the sunday carvery and were all very pleased,food was beautiful and plentiful.Staff were superb made us all very welcome.Will definitely return again.
