It’s always an incredible experience visiting Veraj. I love that you can explain what kind of food you would like and they know exactly what on the menu would be perfect for you. The staff are great. The food is amazing. I can’t wait to return.

As a group of 7, upon arrival, we were not told there would be a wait on food. We were subsequently kept waiting 1.5 hours before anything other than 4 portions of poppadoms were brought out, for which we were charged £20.35 for 4 portions. This was clearly done tactically to ensure more drinks were bought and the bill could be hiked. I also ordered the Ceylon, but was brought a Korma, but due to the length of time we’d already been waiting and how hungry I was, I didn’t bother to complain at the time. The drinks on the bill were not itemised - another classic dirty tactic to squeeze more money out of a large group of people who have been drinking and may not otherwise be aware. Finally, if you order the ‘chicken niblets’ be prepared to receive two half chicken wings and a whole lot of salad. Servers were nice enough, but the overall experience has left a bitter taste. Will not be returning.

Visited yesterday for a meal - it was quiet, being a Sunday however the food and service were both faultless - we have visited on a busy Saturday previously which was just as good. Our waiter was incredibly professional, friendly, and patient. He took the time to go through the menu and recommendations for vegetarian options, was prompt with drinks and check-ins to make sure we were having a good time. Particularly grateful to the waiter again who didn't shy away from a little competition from my 84YO gran, who had a vindaloo on the proviso that he had some too (thank you for making her day). Some of the best Indian food we've had in a long time, fantastic attention to detail and a passion for flavour. 10/10 would recommend!

I loved the food and service was good as always but please avoid the tables next to the toilet. Every time somebody left the toilet we had a wave of stinky smell hitting our noses, we have been moved to a different table when we asked but still… Tables without a table cloths, sticky and not nice. I can imagine how difficult is to get rid of curry marks but other places manage so with a quite a high food prices there it would be nice not to get stuck to the table. I dont think I will return there, take away next time for me.

Lovely meal great service highly recommended

I was trying their new fish menu which was very good. Both the starter and mains were very tasty with lots flavour. The side dishes, lemon and lime naan and lemon rise were refreshing and tasty.

Our first visit having become rather disappointed with our usual local Indian restaurant. No disappointment here - everything was absolutely spot on. The food and level of service were excellent with great attention to detail. We will definitely be coming back soon

I visited with a large party of people. The staff are friendly but the service was a bit haphazard. Instead of driving each individual with their order they brought out all the sauces and then the Naan and dishes and then the rice. My naan was burnt and my sauce was cold by the time my rice appeared. I have been told that this is a very popular restaurant so I can only assume that it was the volume of people wanting service at the same time that let it down. Having said that it didn't detect from our party celebrations.

Decided to visit as recently moved to the village and so many people have recommended the restaurant. We have had a couple of takeaways, but as it was our anniversary thought we should sample the ambience. We weren't disappointed, the food was superb as was the service from all the staff. We shall definitely be returning for further visits.

Revisited here for the first time in a while, this visit was for a family celebration and it did not disappoint! Food is excellent, varied spices and delicious creamy and spicy dishes (we all tasted each others). The foot was delivered to the table hot and fresh and the baked poppadoms were delicious. Front of house staff were attentive and friendly. Great time 👌

Fabulous impromptu evening with an overdue catch up with friends, eating delicious food with great service. Will be back again soon.

I had a takeaway on Friday evening, the Tikka Masala and chicken madras were good but I had a chicken tikka shashlik which was poor - the chicken was bland and had no colour or flavour and the onions were undercooked - very dissappointed

I have only had Takeaways but always excellent, ready on time, friendly staff. My new favourite is lamb shank curry with vegetable rice. My Saturday night treat!

A couple of issues. We ordered a meal for collection. The menu on the website says 10% off collections. When I went to collect they said that: 1. The price was £4 more than what the menu prices say. 2. That the 10% off on collections deal had finished in December. So from the off I'm £6.90 down. At that point I was thinking ok.. places change their menus all the time due to inflation etc. So then I asked for the up to date menu for future reference so I don't get caught out again - to which I got the reply "it's on the website". The menu on the website is the one I was looking at initially.. So have I just been robbed of the extra £6.90 or are they lying about the menu? My curry was ok, but it was half a portion and still left me hungry. My wife had a prawn massala which was ok, however there were only 4 prawns in her curry and they tasted what I can only describe as 'perfumey'. Her portion was also small so she was left hungry too. Please update your menus because if it was an honest representation of your prices especially with the collection deal I would have gone elsewhere. Also, please increase your portion sizes.. there just wasn't enough. I'm not willing to pay a premium like this for a mediocre curry again, especially until I know exactly what I'm spending. Plenty of better takeaways in the area.

My lovely sister treated me to a birthday dinner at veraj and I had a very enjoyable meal. The food is outstanding, in my limited experience the best Indian cuisine I've tasted. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Attentive. The fact it was quite busy is testament to their popularity. Empty restaurants speak for themselves. I'd gladly eat there again.

On vacation with my partner's family we wanted to try an Indian restaurant. I, being French, had never tried this type of food before and it was my surprise! Unparalleled service full of kindness and good humor incredibly good food and full of flavor I recommend with your eyes closed go for it without regret don't listen to the bad comments from poorly educated people it was truly incredible! This restaurant is simply outstanding. Tucked away in Ravenshead the best family team you could wish for and the most amazing food. You must try it.

Fab food great service good value

The lamb dish tasted nice but only once I had drained a LOT of grease from the dish. Naan was lovely as was the poppadoms and pickle tray. Onion bhaji was dry and chicken tikka starter was underwhelming. Most disappointing was that website said 10% off for on line orders and I didn’t get that. I did offer to pay a tip but the lady wasn’t sent with the right change so actually I was forced to pay a tip anyway and my change was mainly 20ps and 50ps

Table for the two of us on a Wednesday night. Great food and really friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Asked for certain dishes that weren’t on the menu and they were very happy to do them. It was delicious. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Booked a table at 7.45. No tables available... made us wait for 2 rounds of drinks at the bar (around 40 mins) costing a further £44 to our evening when we just wanted some food. Sat down and waited a further hour for food. Food was nice but service was shocking went to the pub attached to get drinks myself because I was fed up of waiting to be served. Complained to the manager about the times he took £5 off the bill. What a joke... Absolutely ridiculous and wouldn't go back. Partner has a bad stomach this morning too. **Edit to reply to manager** My partner was not the man you were referring to. We have been there a few times but every time I've been it's gotten worse!!! Thanks for the advice to drink water instead of 2 rounds of drinks because of the ridiculous wait. Very helpful. How about don't overbook your restaurant and run it better?! Greedy comes to mind. Won't be back (mainly because you are so rude and sarcastic)... What a way to deal with a complaint. I also laughed about the wait and booking earlier because in all honesty I thought you would have dealt with it at the time but here we are... and that was before my ACTUAL partner 3 days of a bad stomach!! Well done on dealing with a complaint so well. 1/10
