Quite and simple place. Dosaa was really good, chutney needs some improvement.

The starters were very nice but unfortunately the service was very slow, took at least 20 minutes to get drinks and theres no alcohol, but you cant bring your own beer either, half the popadums came halfway through the main courses, one of the starters was missing. The mains took and age and sounded great on the menu but were disappointing, we were underwhelmed. Service could easily be sped up by allowing BYOB so the waiters can concentrate on getting the food out, as the ladies were lovely and i felt a bit sorry for them really.

'Seabass pollichathu' supper real kerala 'malayali' taste.. Onnum parayanilla moone, adichu keeri vaa .. A good spice Masala folded on a full seabass along with real banana leaf.. special recommended for malayali for good spicy.. nalla naadan kallu koodi undel pinne “ anthikadappurathoroolakudayumeduthu…””poli Didn't recommend biriyani, not good flavor but allover they can improve on spice selection on dishes..

My wife ordered a creamy sauce, but they were out. The waitress recommended something else, assuring us it was similar. What arrived was a dry, whole seabass. Similar? Only if you consider a bicycle similar to a car because they both have wheels. I ordered a curry, but they didn’t have that either. So, I went with a salmon dish. The waitress repeated our order back to us, and everything seemed fine. To my surprise, I was also served a whole seabass. The waitress confidently and unapologetically told me she thought I’d ordered it. Did the restaurant accidentally buy way too many seabass and now need to offload them? A couple who arrived after us asked to be seated upstairs but were told it was closed. The next couple was sent upstairs. This restaurant is a house of lies and a mockery of customer service. The starter was nice.

Fresh food with a distinctly different Indian taste. The paratta was crispy and fresh and the lamb curry was divine as was the different dips. Samosas need a little more filling but that is the only mainly minor niggle. Otherwise well done to the staff for the delicious food. It took a little longer to arrive but it was supremely fresh and the wait was worth it.

Stumbled upon this place by chance. I enjoyed my meal so much it brought a tear to my eye - no kidding. Absolutely delicious, honest, authentic food, and warm and friendly customer service. If I lived close by I could see myself dining there several times a week.

Sunday lunch: veg and non-veg thali and a mango lassi and it was all exceptional. Delicious food, super prices and lovely, friendly waiting staff. Can’t wait to come back, and can’t wait to explore their great-looking menu. Highly, highly recommended.

I had an amazing experience at Veppura! The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic South Indian flavours and brought back memories of the authentic flavors I enjoyed in Kerala. The garlic naan was perfectly fluffy and full of flavour, and the chili beef was deliciously spicy and tender. The staffs was friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine taste of South India. I'll definitely be coming back!

Friendly and peaceful atmosphere. Loved their Thali (both veg and non veg). We drove from Colchester to Huddersfield, it was worth the drive and had nice food experience.

Unassuming looking place but a warm welcome, (we ate early), and sublime Keralan food. The menu was a good read! My paneer dosa was a v generous size, beautifully presented with a lentil sambar and 3 tasty chutneys. My partner's 'simple' curry had a wide variety of fresh vegetables in a subtly spiced, coconut infused source with an unctuous Keralan paratha that was recommended (thanks). Our drinks were a mango lassi and a salt lassi (with a hint of pepper). And it was great VFM and we were well satisfied and full. Will be my place to eat when in HDF.

Went here for the second time yesterday evening and had another wonderful meal. Service and food are fantastic and there’s loads of vegan options. Highly recommended.

We went as a group and ordered many items. The chef was so nice that he accepted to cook food i.e. something that's not in their menu as well. All the food that we ordered were absolutely fantastic. Beef fry was top notch. It had that authentic south Indian taste. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who would try to taste authentic south indian food.

An absolute gem. Popped in there on a Thursday eve. Staff were brilliant, food was simply amazing (I had the whole sea bass) and the mocktails were superb. Definitely going back.

Excellent food and great value for money. This is our new favourite Indian restaurant.

If there was a negative option I would have probably chosen that. Went to the restaurant, the lady took the order and we kept waiting for more than 40 mins but our order never came. Those who came after us got the orders and were close to paying bill, when I asked the manager when will we get our order and he shamelessly said the chef is starting to cook it. I don't understand what is the process of cooking, do they cook what seems easy or they have preference for regular customers. But for sure I don't plan to go there again. The manager should have apologised instead of shamelessly smiling.

Great food! Though we've eaten at many an Indian restaurant, this was of a different variety and taste to anything we've experienced before. Ate there 2 nights in a row whilst my friend was visiting, and good food each night. An unassuming looking place from the outside, nestled amongst quite standard takeaways, but definitely a hidden gem in Huddersfield!

Great meal with different options to usual curry house. Service was excellent and swift. The restaurant is not licensed but this did not ruin the experience at all. The Dosa, chill beef and Fish Moilee were my personal favourites.

Great place to eat and we were quickly seated. Food was ready in good time (as I had to catch a train) however on arrival it could have been warmer and portions larger (as bowls are very shallow). Vegetarian dishes were tasty but could have been seasoned a little more as I had to add a little salt (lentil dhaal for example). We also had mango lassi which was pricey to say it was in a small cup (I've had jugs of mango lassi at other restaurants which was much better value for money. Overall staff were friendly and very attentive though!

We went here on Sunday evening for the first time with two adults, two teenagers and two little ones. We ordered the poppadoms and pickle trays, meat samosas and onion bhajis for starters, very nice! Chicken Kurma, Fish Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef Varattiyathu all absolutely beautifully flavoured and the meat was so tender. Lovely service, nothing to much bother. See you again soon 😊

If you judge a book by it’s cover you’d likely not look in … Fortunately I did go in and been back and happy food just as yummy 2nd visit as it was 1st.

Very bad biriyani not authentic Indian taste . Was bland taste although asked to make it authentic and desi . Second order -The soda had more chillies than normal and tasted bad because of that. Not good curry although asked for food desi style curry. Starters were given after main course. I did not understand why. Kerala parata was good

Visited Veppura yesterday with my husband, and we were so happy to have found such a lovely restaurant! We went for dinner, tried the masala dosa, onion bhaji, and it was massive and absolutely delicious.Will definitely return!

Oh my goodness, this is the most delicious restaurant I have eaten at in Huddersfield. I cannot fault anything, everything was delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. The flavours were amazing, really very divine food. Lovely hospitable staff that were happy to make chit chat, teach me proper pronunciation and advise dish recommendations. We ordered the masala dosa, after seeing many reviews rave about it and YES, you simply MUST try it if you haven’t already! The Chicken Varattiyathu was exceptional as was the Lamb Kurma. My first time eating Parotta also and I thoroughly enjoyed. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived as everything was so reasonably priced. Cannot wait to go back to try more of the menu and will be exclusively ordering takeout from here only from now on!! Customers for life after one exceptional visit, thank you muchly for cooking beautiful food and being amazing people ✨❤️

Friendly people, quality food. Southern Indian food is still quite new to me, I'll go back and try more! The dhal was superb, as was the masala dosa and chana masala.

By a country mile the best restaurant in Huddersfield, and one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to anywhere. Food was incredible, very reasonably priced, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Food - delicious Price - reasonable Service - impeccable

Visited today, while my wife was at the theatre down the road. Had booked here due to it's locality to the theatre and on the back of the positive reviews. Those positive reviews are correct. The service was warm and welcoming with a charming smile. Very helpful and patient while we worked our way through the unfamiliar but excellently worded menu (the dish descriptions are ace). The dishes themselves are beautifully spiced, tingly but not burny hot, and the meat (we tried both lamb and chicken dishes) melted. Given the time to pace ourselves, we managed poppadoms, small starters, main, and dessert. Full, but not too much so. Just right. Delicious. The restaurant does not sell alcoholic drinks. However for me the odd highlight of the meal was the homemade non alcoholic drinks. Perculiar though it may sound, both the lime and soda, and mint and lime drinks were my takeaway memories of the meal. Superb. Thank you for a lovely evening.

One of worst experience, bad ambience, food not cooked properly, even after raising it twice. Worst masala dosa. It was so hot inside, sweating no ventilation, no respect for the feedback.

My husband and I ate here last night for the first time. We were impressed with the not only the quality and flavour of the food, but also the delicious and authentic drinks on offer too. I’m never very adventurous when it comes to trying new Indian foods but last night I tried a new starter and main. I wasn’t disappointed. The service was outstanding too - we do not live in the local area but will definitely be looking to see when we can return as it was well worth it!

Great place for a good and new south Indian cuisine experience. I never tried that specific one and I was really impressed, they also have a lot of vegetarian options. The food is amazing, fresh and comforting. I tried a South Indian paratha and it was great with the curry, the lamb was delicious and the chickpea curry also nice. The staff gave me and my friend a number of tasting options and the quality was great. Absolutely would recommend and will definitely be going back.

We just visited the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the food. It is very close to having the authentic Keralan culinary experience. Their Beef Kurma and Lime Soda is divine and it’s really awesome to have a place which serves Dosa and Uttapam in Huddersfield. Will definitely pay a visit again soon.

Visited Veppura yesterday and we were so happy to have found such a lovely restaurant! Keralan food is quite different to other Indian food and we found it absolutely delicious! Bashir,the owner is a really lovely person and helpful! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!😋

Our first visit to this restaurant and well impressed. Firstly by the very warm welcome and excellent service and next to the excellent food. This is southern Indian - Kerala - based and is wonderful. Quite the best we have had outside of India itself. Prices are reasonable and we will certainly be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Really Really disappointed..no alcohol licence, so no alcoholic drinks..waiting over 50 minutes for food and when it did come it was the main course and not the starter.. The food itself was nothing great and felt really acidy afterwards..👎👎

This was real good clean food. The kochi kingfish curry was very flavoursome, masala dosa was very good, just like the ones in India- the accompanying sambar and chutneys were of a good standard, but could have done with a larger portion of daal. Really liked the porotta. It was good to try the drinks as well- something different to the usual stuff. Will be returning soon to try the other dishes soon hopefully.

We are served a starter of tender spicy chicken. It is amazingly fresh and hot. The bread and lamb are also perfect

Went for a cosy lunchtime birthday treat and was not disappointed. We had starters of Samosas and Uzuhunnua (doughnut made of lentils) which were absolutely delicious. Followed by Masala Dosas' (one with lamb) for mains .. divine. The whole meal was a beautiful blend of spices and full of flavour. We were left with a 'light clean palate' feeling. How great to have a different type of Indian food in Huddersfield. We’ve been to Kerala and loved the freshness and the unique flavours of the food there. Plenty of vegetarian choice, delicious homemade chutneys and dips, dosas, fluffy naan, vegetable dishes such as aubergine masala, plus paneer curries and more. Our meat-eating friends loved their lamb dish and the butter chicken. Hot and light gulab jamun for dessert. Friendly and helpful staff too. We’ll definitely be regulars.

I have tried many Indian restaurants in my life around the world but this one definitely has a rare personality. The menu has a different choice than usual and I tried dishes that I had never tried before. The dishes are served elegantly and are exquisite. One important aspect is that I believe the restaurant was family run and they were kindful. The atmosphere is therefore welcoming and cozy. 100% Promoted, Go For It!!!

Finally a south Indian restaurant in Huddersfield! And the owners are Muslim so meat is halal bonus. We went for lunch,tried the masala dosa it was massive and absolutely delicious..the chicken 65 was nice too. Finished it off with black tea with cardoman...a lovely little place in prime position. We will definitely return

We have been here for a family meal on a Saturday night - just the four of us. Our table was upstairs and there was no other guests. As much as we liked to have the floor to ourselves, there was no heating upstairs so felt the chill. The food was ok, nothing special. Dosa didn’t have the traditional taste, unfortunately. But the chutneys was tasty. My daughter had a fish curry which was good. Don’t think I will be going again, which is unfortunate. As I was excited to see a South Indian place in Huddersfield. The staff were very friendly and welcoming:)

Had a lovely meal here to celebrate Easter. The veggie options are plentiful and elegant. The Ghee Masala Dosa was exquisite, with three separate accompanying curry and pickle sauces; creamy chili tomato, coconut and Keralan veg. curry. The Aubergine Masala was rich and complexly flavoured, with a decent but not combative spiciness and the aubergine pieces melted on the tongue. Mango Lassi was gorgeous and rich; and the Mint and Lime drink is justifiably labelled on the takeaway menu as 'must try'. Payasam, the traditional Keralan dessert porridge was a delightful revelation. Don't be deterred by the notion of it being made from lentils; it is delicious! The ginger pieces, cashew nuts, sultanas and cardamominess makes for a refreshing end to the meal, with a perfectly balanced sweetness. The serving staff are so friendly and attentive, helpfully explaining about the menu items and any potential dietary pitfalls. The chef was visible through an open hatch and was clearly moved when we expressed our gratitude for and appreciation of the meal. The wall beside us is decorated with a lively, skilfully executed line drawing of Keralan elephants, regional architectural highlights and traditional river boats, illustrated by the talented waitress. Given the quality of food, we were most pleasantly surprised by how unchallenged our wallets were by the visit. All told, a very enjoyable, memorable experience.

Only South Indian place in Huddersfield. We were very delighted to see this place open. Now we have ordered few times and always tasty and traditional spicy and hot. Must try their coconut rice.

We went there on Christmas. The food was delicious. Surprised to know that most of the food (except for deep fried items) was made with coconut oil. The food tasted like that made with regular oil. We took lentils soup, Malabar chicken biryani, cochi fish curry, plain rice. All the items were of good taste. Had a good experience, and we will visit again. Finally, there was a wash room too..:)
