Fab location on riverfront, sadly the weekend staff lack an understanding of customer service - I have never ever been told an item costs ' a quid' instead of a pound in the UK - dire and terrible. I know teenagers can be surly and short but please, do not put them in front of customers, if they cannot use grammar correctly. I have worked in customer service all my life and HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD my drink costs 2 'quid', not even a please ! Maybe at a fairground or a market, but not in an establishment such as as this in a yachting marina ! First and last visit. Shame as I would have recommend this place.

A fellow cyclist in my group suggested we visit on our coffee stop yesterday. We were all very impressed with the coffee, cakes and pastries on offer. The sausage rolls were tempting too. Friendly staff and quick service. Nice seating area outside on the decking next to the water with the boats.

I’ve been going to this cafe and it’s partner cafe in Warren Row throughout the summer. The coffees at Wargrave are good but the toilets are atrocious. I think they are probably shared with the marina, but on every Sunday I’ve been there the men’s toilet waste bin contents are overflowing over the floor and the room is filthy. Today, the bin was worse than ever and the only urinal was blocked and six inches deep with urine. It’s really not necessary. The Velo life in Warren Row is better, but even there the toilet cubicles are shared men/women but there is no lock on the door to the cubicle. Please sort it out.

Great location next to the river. Could do with parasols on the outside tables (to provide shelter from the sun). Coffee was very good. Tasted sarnies tasty but a bit too oily for my liking. The only real negative is the staff - we’ve been 3 times and the treatmemt has been offhand, unsmiling and in the case where I had a fly in my coffee, unapologetic. A real shame.

Menu could be expanded slightly, a nice bacon roll or avocado on toast would be a worthwhile addition. Appreciate the sausage roll but extremely overpriced for what it is, understand mark up but this is a bit excessive.

Very little choice of savoury food. Very little choice of soft drinks. Ok for coffee and cake. Nice outlook over the river. Expensive.

Great place for a spot of lunch on a Saturday! I stayed for a few after and got chatting to the staff and regulars for well beyond what I'd planned to.

My wife and I saw an advert on our local community group saying this establishment was doing very good fish and chips for take away. On the group site people were saying this cost £7:50 each for fish&chips but you had to order in advance. My wife wife placed an order and on the other end of the phone it sounded like an old lady taking the order, she was very abrupt and wasn’t listening to what was being asked and just kept talking over what my wife was trying to ask. Anyway we eventually placed our order. When we arrived to pick it up my wife went into the side entrance and went to pay, the old lady was quite rude and said it was £8:50 each, when my wife said that on the local page it everyone was saying £7:50. She just brushed it off and said she didn’t know about that, my wife only had £15 in cash and as we had only ordered for 2 this is all she had. There were dogs running around the area as well not very hygienic. The price appears to change depending on who you are as my wife went back to the local group and the members are still saying they pay £7:50. First and last time using this pub takeaway the fish and chips were a small portion for the price.

I visit here nearly every week, usually for breakfast which is always delicious, perfectly cooked and a generous portion, I now only buy my sausages and bacon from the farm shop next door. Great service from friendly staff.

We went for Sunday lunch because it was recommended. On arrival we were told that the roast had rosemary on the potatoes, vegetables and possibly the gravy, this was not mentioned on the menu. My friend cannot eat rosemary, she had fish and chips which she did not enjoy. I didn’t have beef because rump is not a roasting joint, I suspect that the beef was not cooked on site, from what I saw someone else eating. I had the pork belly. I have had this elsewhere and I cook it so I know that it can be tender. The belly was two thirds fat, the meat was pink at one end, I did not eat any of the meat. The cost for one lump of very fatty belly was extortionate. The ‘roast’ potatoes were oily externally and internally. I ate them because I was hungry, I had indigestion for 24 hours. The root vegetables were uninteresting with a lump of various greens at the the bottom of a small pot. Much better to have fewer vegetables and better presented. The manager was very considerate and wanted to hear my views. He did not charge us for the meal,, although I offered to pay. The Yorkshire pudding was huge, crispy, and cold. I will not return for a roast. The staff were very good. The room became cold because the fire went out, that was quickly relit by a member of staff.
