Vega in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We are very fortunate to live close enough to Vega and go fairly regularly. The food here is always outstanding, with lots of choice. and so many flavours. Everything is cooked fresh, and the deserts are great too. It's very reasonably priced, and a donation is made to animal welfare charities from the profits. There is also a great selection of home made produce in jars to take away. We love this place, it's so unusual to find an eatery that does great food, at a good price and for the owner to walk the talk in terms of ethics. If you are nearby one day, go and have a meal, you won't regret it.....

I live locally and love Edwinas food, We had a little get together there when she said she was going to offer a roast through Nov.

Having visited a few years ago we’ve been desperate to come back ever since. We had a wonderful lunch here today, again we couldn’t fault it. Reasonably priced and very generous portions. We were so pleased to see Vega still alive and well :-)

Currently walking a chuck of the coast path so we were absolutely delighted to be recommended Vega by our BnB. Homemade, delicious, nutritious food. The chickpea curry was scrummy and filling. The kombucha was really great and refreshing too. Thank you for being there and providing food we always crave when we leave home. Feeling strong oand ready for our walk today 🙏 💪

Whilst staying in Tintagel for the week we visited Vega cafe 3 times. The food is home made, really delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the mac and cheese, curry bowl, lasagne and large mezze bowl. We also had the chocolate torte, peanut butter cheesecake and coffee. All were excellent and full of flavour, filling portions and value for money. We got some of the homemade fermented drinks and chutney, a sea glass bracelet and a book written by one of the owner's companion pigs where all profits go to animal rescue charities.🐖 Lovely cafe and would recommend to any vegans and vegan curious people visiting the area. Dogs are welcome here.

Only had hot drinks and a shared chocolate torte but the owner made an impression. I'm veggie and gluten free so had Turmeric latte and hubby had a cafetiere and didn't notice it wasn't milk!! Would visit again if lived closer. Well done for the great menu.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Vega today. There were so many things I wanted to try that I felt completely spoilt for choice. The food was delicious and comforting, and it was heartening to chat with such a dedicated animal advocate. I left Vega with a full tummy and a recipe book and can’t wait to visit again!

We spotted Vega when passing on a bus and decided that we had to call in when visiting Tintagel. We were a bit unsure of the opening hours but the owner quickly responded to a question to inform that they are closed on Tuesdays. They have 2 different menus, Wednesday to Friday and Saturday to Monday, but they both looked equally appetising so there are lots of options every day. We chose 2 starters and 2 mains , thinking that vegan meals can often be a bit on the small side, especially considering the price was very reasonable compared to other places in the area. We couldn't have been more wrong, the portions were generous and it was a good thing that we had worked up an appetite walking from Boscastle to Tintagel, although it was still a struggle to finish everything. The food was amazing, so tasty, well presented and great value for money. The service was friendly and welcoming and it's nice that they are dog friendly. We would definitely visit again if we're in the area in the future.

Popped by for some lunch, we arrived just as kitchen was closing but the lovely lady welcomed us all in (including the dog!). Had a great lunch with a great selection on the menu. Some fab conversation and really clear that a lot of care is taken over all food prepared. Also came away with some homemade sauerkraut and vegan garlic mayo 🤤

Amazing food, check it out! The owner is a lovely lady who opened the cafe specifically for us! Peanut cheesecake, curry and chili can all be highly recommended. I especially invite non-vegans to try it out to see how amazing vegan food can be! Many thanks again!

We had a takeaway last Sunday . Heaps of delicious food. We had gorgeous curries/dals bhaji’s and the best cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. Would recommend this place even if you aren’t vegan, it’s amazing.

Popped in to see if they had anything gluten free and the lady in there was so helpful and friendly. I had some lovely homemade hummus with corn tortillas and olives and a recommendation to visit Rocky Valley and find the labrynth rock art. Thanks for the tip, it was well the visit and saved us from spending money at a more touristy site!

Small place, take about 14 people to fill it up, but food was good and staff efficient. Recommend the elderflower fizz drink it was refreshing and not too sweet or too fizzy

Poor choice. Food was burnt. Little to praise. Everything was not fresh. Microwaved and refridgerated. Price did not reflect the dishes!

Lovely little restaurant serving delicious and nourishing food. Stopped here for a late lunch and the curry I ordered was a large portion and extremely satisfying. Menu varies by day, but it looked versatile enough to cater to a wide variety of tastes (I saw multiple things I wanted to order!) Unless your party is actively craving a meat-heavy meal, I’d recommend this to any group, regardless of whether anyone is vegan. Prices seemed very reasonable compared to other options in the area.

Cheap and tasty! Food arrives piping hot and in big portions. The Buddha bowl was great as it offered so much nutrition and the curry dish was again full of colour and taste. Service super fast and friendly, so I highly recommend this place.

I'm from Newcastle and I popped in here while on holiday in Cornwall. I'd happily walk back to Tintagel for another portion of the delicious falafel and raita! I also bought a jar of the Christmas chutney which was superb.

Wonderful vegan, no-waste cafe/restaurant with varied and inexpensive menu, generous portions and great taste. We enjoyed a great meal here, with an excellent bottle of £15 red

Cosy place, good size portions and lovely service. Very reasonable price for the area. Spent about £50 on 4 meals, several drinks, deserts and some home made vegan garlic mayo to take home. Meal prices were all under £10.

It was pouring down rain, my dog and I were tired from hiking the coastal path, and nothing on the high street seemed tempting. We were about to just get in the car when we saw the sign for Vega, and found this wonderfully cozy little cafe. The tiny place was packed with people and several dogs, but all was calm and happy. We managed to snag a table and enjoyed a delicious salad and some falafel, and even some chocolate cake for takeaway. Everything tasted so fresh and homemade, I couldn’t be happier and would recommend it to anyone, vegan or not!

Super tasty menu & hearty portions left us feeling satisfied for the day ahead. The only slight thing letting Vega down was the 'in your face' and somewhat blunt service. We felt a little bit of a nusense to the staff. Overall though, if you want tasty Vegan grub in Tintagel, this is the place to go.

We’ve visited twice now and the food is amazing!! Massive portions! Tintagel is so lucky to have this lady right in their town, I wish we could take her to Somerset! This is a great example of wonderful tasting vegan food ❤️🌱

First visit to Vega today. My Wife and I are both long term meat eaters but we saw the lovely menu on passing and gave it a try. Went for Humous, lasagne and Greek salad lovely really nice, we followed that with peanut butter cheesecake….wow absolutely gorgeous. Food was that nice we asked the lovely lady if she could let us have the recipes which she agreed to send.

Average. The chickpea curry was nice although the lasagne lacked flavour. Unfortunately, the red wine seemed off (it tasted like vinegar) but when we complained to the chef she told us she “would die” if she drank it and refused to change it so we basically just didn’t drink it and paid for it anyway. The attitude of the chef leaves something to be desired as she seemed to dislike before we even sat down and it’s such a shame as I’d persuaded my partner to walk up from the main town of past many other restaurants just to try the nice vegan place. Anyway, peace and love - could’ve just been a one off 💚

In town full of fish and chips and pub grub, this was a welcome find, with food and vibe equal to the soul surf kitchens of Southern California or Sydney Northern beaches , fun staff and brilliant food

Thank you Edwina at Vega for the most amazing food and service. We loved our chats and shared views on the world too. It was such a joy to have an entirely Vegan menu and also to be able to dine in the evening (as many Vegan/Vegetarian places are only open during the day). Although the restaurant is open lunchtimes too. All the food was prepared from scratch and had the most wonderful flavours and was beautifully nutritionally balanced. I love your passion for Vegan and ethically-sourced food and encourage as many people as possible to visit this establishment (whether Vegan or not). We hope to be back!

I am so confused regarding the rave reviews. As a lifelong vegan I would love to give a great review. It’s a nice spot with friendly service. However, I would recommend using salt and spices to add some flavor to the food.

Amazing. Wonderful flavours. Pasta, Mexican, delicious 'meat''balls but all vegan. Worth the walk to the end of the village, opposite the Tintagel Visitor Centre. Very friendly. Lovely food.

Great place for the full throttle vegan experience. Some people might be put off by the propaganda around, which makes you feel like you've stepped into a school project but the food was good. Other reviews praised the Bakewell Tart...they're not wrong.

Delish! It's quite difficult to find vegan places in cornwall so was great to find this place - the lady was lovely and we ordered the Buddha bowl which was veryy tasty and huge, she very kindly gave us some Tupperware to take our leftovers. Recommend!!

Not really sure what to make of this place the owner didn't seem wait for us all to order so we had to say what we want as we chose (seems like a strange way) the food was nice but came out as it was ready so I got mine just as my parents were finishing theirs the place also seem to be intimidating with lots of vegan leftlets in sight so its hard to enjoy your food. The owner spoke badly about some customers and question the family we where sitting near "why come to a vegan cafe if you don't like broccoli" it was okay but rememberla for all the wrong reasons

Had a lovely takeaway on new year's eve. We ordered one of everything from the menu. Friendly and warm welcome when we arrived to collect our order. Food tasted wonderful and very filling. Will be definitely order again in the future.

Wonderful vegan restaurant! Loads of choice because of 2 menus depending on the day - both are delicious and really affordable. I loved the lasagne especially. Staff are really friendly and they clearly make a big effort to be as ethical and environmentally concious as possible

Good selection of vegan food, liked the tasty Bhudda bowl, especially liked the garlic bread we got (so much so we ordered more). Owner was about to close but remained open to serve a family arriving last-minute. Unfortunately, this seemed to negatively impact her general mood after that.

Fantastic little vegan cafe with a great menu eg spinach and lentil curry, lasagne, chilli, etc. Two different menus depending on who's cooking. Desserts were fantastic! It's very popular so worth booking ahead. Some seating outside. Well-behaved dogs welcome.

Visited this evening and had a lovely dinner. So nice to find a great vegan place. Onion Bhajis and raita are a MUST. The lasagne was gorgeous and the Buddha Bowl just what we needed after a week of camping and tinned soup. The young lad that served was such a sweety too. Lady who runs it also fab and seems like they’re mega on it vegan-wise. 11/10, would go again tomorrow if it didn’t sound like they were booked up all week!

Great food but service could be a little better

Absolutely fabulous vegan food. We felt lucky we found this place! The kale and chickpea curry with rice is finger licking good. We also had some olive 🫒 pesto pasta which was tasty as well. Wonderful service and ambience. Thanks 😊

Absolutely beautiful food and a great hostess, who was extremely friendly. As a non vegan, I couldn't fault anything and my girlfriend who is vegan, was completely in her element.

We eat here after visiting the castle, simply some of the best vegan food had in a long time. The owner was very nice and made a fuss of our dog which we had with us. I would certainly recommend if your in the area.

Stopped for food half way round a circular walk around the tintagel area. Food was amazing and good portions, drinks were great, all very reasonably priced. Will very likely be back when were in the area!

I was so happy to find this place while staying in Tintagel! Really good vegan food at great prices (many (if not all) options less than five pounds, from what I remember). I also really liked that they re-use containers. Would definitely recommend!
