Wow! This place was amazing and Ranjot Singh was fantastic! We don’t eat Onion and Garlic and are pure Vegetarian so they look after us very well and served us nice food. Can’t wait to visit again!

5 of us Visited this restaurant from Leicester. Authentic Indian flavours. Very impressive. Great food every penny worth.

Love the starter with the soya chunks and the peshwari naan with almond inside was a standout, slightly sweeter than a regular naan.

My wife and I had the vegan & vegetarian bottomless Thali. A mix of 3 curries with rice, nan pompadoms, salad & sauce. Each dish was delicious and the refills were ready in time. I would definitely come again.

I recently dined at Veg Darbar, and I must say, it was an amazing experience! The highlight of the meal was definitely the Paneer Lababdar; it was rich, creamy, and full of flavor—truly a delight for any paneer lover. The rasmalai for dessert was equally impressive; it was perfectly sweet and had a lovely, smooth texture that rounded off the meal beautifully. Thank you Veg Darbar for an exquisite vegan Christmas dinner experience, which we decided to make our tradition from now on. The service was great and the food unforgettable. We even got a vegan mango lassi created for us by the chef.

The food tested good and that’s all. Portion size are small even for one person and price are way too high. Not going back sorry.

We went for dinner this evening with my husband and daughter and we couldn’t have asked for better food or service. From the drinks, to the personalisation of our starter, to the presentation of our mains. It was just ace from start to finish. The fact that it’s for veggies and vegans just ices the cake :) even my meat-eating husband enjoyed every morsel. The flavours the chef manages to create are just delish. Hard recommend!

We have used Veg Darbar on several occasions now and on every visit or order the food has been exceptional. All ingredients are obviously fresh because taste and flavour of all dishes are superb. Despite being Vegetarian and Vegan, the Menu at Veg Darbar is diverse enough to cater easily to all tastes. The service has never been an issue and another reason we keep coming back. Amazing food that is Vegetarian or Vegan is hard to find, even though they have become more popular. To find a restaurant that only serves Vege dishes is relatively unique in Birmingham, Veg Darbar exceeded all expectations!

We ordered a takeaway to be honest it was really bad more curry less items and it tasted sweet wasn't impressed at all and I even told the guy at the counter would go here again all the dishes we ordered tasted the same was a waste of money I was looking forward to this place but for a veggie food eater I wasn't impressed

The food here is amazing! I've been coming here for a while and I feel like it's an undiscovered gem of kings heath. One of the best meals I've eaten in Birmingham and I would highly recommend it to everyone. Usually l am a firm meat eater however I don't miss the meat here at all as the flavors and options are astounding.

*Avoid at all costs* What is served from this restaurant can’t be called food. I ordered a takeaway from here. All of the curries were inedible, swimming in grease and so so salty and we just had to throw them away. An item wasn’t delivered in the order and the restaurant really couldn’t care less when I called up. Never ordering from here again. I also suspect a lot of reviews are fake.

This place is a rip off, be warned, service was terrible and the food was only warm. They add a £35 service charge then add vat on top... terrible place. Order came out in drips & drabs, not altogether. By the time all the food came out half the people had eaten and even then-they didn't get all there order.

A wonderful, spontaneous first visit to this restaurant & am still raving to all about it! Staff were helpful & so welcoming and the food was divine. Good quality ingredients, decent portions and fresh. Will definitely be returning.

First and last time for me at this restaurant. Food was overpriced and bland. The waiting time was ridiculous nearly 1.30hrs to get our food when there were hardly any customers in the restaurant. The guy on the counter had 0 customer service and spilled half of my tea in the saucer while bringing it. No apologies nothing. I do get that he is probably inexperienced but should also be working with people with more experience The food was like preheated and nothing from scratch. The kofta curry was boiled potato in a sauce. The thali was £22 with only three curries and supposedly bottomless. I have never paid for vegetarian food so much specially when the taste is not that great. I strongly believe you need to revise your prices as per what you provide. I ordered a large mix grill and the paneer and onions were burnt in there. I seriously believe the reviews are all made up by friends and families as if you really like good tasting food this is definitely not the place. Save your money ! To top it up when we were leaving they were offering free brownie and asked us to leave a review 😡

Very nice food but some huge red flags the last couple of times we came here, it's certainly gone downhill! Tonight was a disaster - adding extra items into the bill, stale poppadoms, huge waiting times as they prioritise delivery orders and a hidden 10% tip service charge for 2 people. Given it's already the most expensive Indian restaurant in the area, it's hard to justify the price. Having been a regular for a while I won't be back anytime soon which is a shame as I like supporting places like this but at the end of the day there are many better value options in Kings Heath

Had an amazing meal, 6 of us all had different meals, they were all wonderful, fresh & super tasty, definitively recommend this gem of a place. We bought our own wine, could park outside (after 6.45pm) worth a visit.

Absolutely lovely experience with family for birthday, we had mocktails (mint and mango, but choice of about 10) and a large starter platter to start with, samosa, onion bhaji, shaslik, potato fritter, and a few others all tasted amazing with lots of flavour but nothing super spicy. For the main we had Thali each, so a big bowl of fried onion rice, 3 different curries, garlic naan and poppadoms, we struggled to finish it all - but tasted so good it was a shame to leave it, everything was cooked to perfection and the server Abu so nice and friendly. We finished off with chocolate cookie and Vegan ice cream, and really couldn’t fit another mouthful. Service and taste of everything was awesome, myself and my OH had take away from here before which was lovely, but eating in was a brilliant experience and our guests loved it so much too planning our next visit ! Highly recommended, next time I think we will try the a la carte menu and choose some other dishes

Family of meat eaters went to veg Indian restaurant. Lovely food. I had the veg coconut curry. Super tasty, not too much coco, loads of flavour. I tasted 4 other curries, all delicious. Definitely worth visiting. So much flavour in the dishes, superb! Don’t be put off by it being a veg restaurant, really great food and friendly welcome.

Malai kofta curry was very sweet and Naan is small and taste like chapathi.very disappointing and very expensive .

What an amazing find! The best curry house in Birmingham by a long shot and hands down the best curry I've ever had. I'm not even vegetarian and loved the food, the flavours and freshness of the food is incredible. My new favourite restaurant, can't wait to go back! The service from Abu was also superb.

Kings Heath's little gem, went there with four brothers, what a meal. We had a sahre platter, Rajma, lasoni Paneer, dal makhani, nans and rice, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was excellent. Abu and the other waiter were polite, friendly, prompt and very respectfull. Bumped into the chef/manager outside, great to talk too. We also took a takeaway and again the food was excellent. The only downside on the takeaway was that the soya tikka portion was a little on the small side. Will defo go back to the Veg Darbar.

A delicious meal, lots of variety on the menu so spoilt for choice. All freshly cooked and available in the chilli heat of our choice. We started with the sharing platter which gave you lots of tastes of different things. Very pleasant attentive staff I think after 7 you can park outside.

Great restaurant so nice to have so many options as a group with vegetarians and vegans but everyone enjoyed their food. Particularly enjoyed the started platter and the cocktails were a really lovely touch! Abu was a great host!!

What a hidden gem of a restaurant. My boyfriend and I decided to come here after randomly walking past it one afternoon. The food was absolutely beautiful, some of the best curry I have ever had. I had the achari bhindi and my boyfriend had the lasooni paneer. I’m vegetarian but my boyfriend isn’t and both of us found our meals incredibly delicious. And the chilli naan was the best naan bread I’ve ever had. Our waiter Abu was incredibly friendly too and made us feel very welcome. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing our friends next time!

What a great little gem in Kings Heath, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here on Monday evening, my wife’s a vegetarian but I’m not, however there was plenty on the menu for me too to have an enjoyable meal. We both enjoyed our respective meals and were very happy with the quality and taste of the food and the service provided by Abu was also excellent. Hope to visit again soon.
