Food was cold! Rice was very less. No taste. Very bad experience with them.

I recently visited this fantastic restaurant serving traditional Yemeni food, and I was thoroughly impressed. The highlight of the meal was the lamb shoulder – the meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavour. It had a perfect blend of spices that complemented the rich, aromatic rice. The dish was served piping hot and was both comforting and satisfying. The warm, inviting atmosphere added to the experience, making it a memorable dining outing. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Yemeni cuisine!

Went there with a group for Iftar buffet, while the food was good in taste and can see the value in it and therefore I am generously giving 4 stars. I was assured when making the booking over the phone that there is no need to order other mains as there will be plenty of food and options in Iftar buffet. However, it is worth noting that almost everything was running out when we started our Iftar after reciting Maghreb 10-15 minutes later in opposite mosque and they didn’t replenish most things when we started our Iftar as well. I had to scrape the sauces/salads off the platter to taste them, the starters were all almost gone and one of the four mains I’ll never know what’s it was as it was just empty. In summary, if you go for Iftar be ready to be there on time otherwise good luck.

This restaurant is a fantastic place for authentic Yemeni food - practices are clean and food is always fresh. I ordered a big order for an office iftar event and they delivered on time and worked with me within the budget I had. I would highly recommend this restaurant for larger events and weddings. The owner went above and beyond to make our event a success.

Bayt Al Yemeni, located on Moseley Road in Birmingham, is known for its authentic Yemeni cuisine and generous portions. During my recent visit, I was eager to try their signature lamb shoulder mandi, a dish that has received high praise from other patrons. The menu offers a wide array of Yemeni specialties, making it a haven for enthusiasts of Middle Eastern cuisine. Upon being served, the lamb shoulder mandi was presented beautifully, accompanied by aromatic basmati rice and a side of tangy tomato chutney. The portion size was generous, easily suitable for sharing. However, the taste did not align with my expectations. The lamb, while tender, lacked the depth of flavor I anticipated, and the seasoning seemed subdued compared to traditional mandi dishes I’ve enjoyed elsewhere. Adding to the disappointment, I was surprised to find that kunafa and fresh juices were unavailable especially on a weekend when you’d expect the full menu to be available. Given how popular these items are, it was a letdown not to be able to try them. Overall, while Bayt Al Yemeni offers a delightful atmosphere and a menu with authentic dishes, my experience with the lamb shoulder mandi was underwhelming, and the limited availability of desserts and drinks was disappointing. It might be worth trying once, but I’d recommend checking in advance if all menu items are available before visiting.

First time trying with the staff… omg worse food ever… felt 🤢 service worst ever the place was tooo hot 🔥 it was like being in a sauna 🧖‍♂️ drinks to took over and hour… food was delayed glad 😌 worse foood ever! And I have tried Arabic food before…. Would I come back no way! In regards to your answer, about drinks we came In after 8pm at least someone should come over and put water on the table not just menus, no one came over to check On us how was the food! I work in hospitality myself and this was the far worse service ever! And now one told us it was till service ! And always ask about allergies 🤧

I’ve never tasted such a mouth melting lamb should. Hummus and garlic sauce were excellent We had a full appetizer plate which was delicious 🤤 No need to mention their unique welcome drink which was hot soup 🍜 Huge thanks

We go there regularly, the food is amazing and we love the little private rooms where you can sit on the floor.

Overpriced for what you get. I ordered lamb kofta..and the plate was full of rice...the meat was so tough I'm sure it was beef and not lamb.. oh well, have the experience now.

Very dry meat and expensive normally mandi lamb and chai adani costs around 13 pounds in bab al yemen or fursan or alsaeed been charged 16 pounds and experience wasn't great الحمد للہ

We used to go at least once a month and we used to take all our guests to have food there but the last visit was a horrible experience tbh. The food took so long and the Fahsa arrived without the bread so we kept looking at it for a good 7-10 minutes until the bread arrived. After we finished the food we ordered Arabic coffee and they gave us boiled cardamom water! We asked for another dalla, of course they took some time again and the colour of the coffee changed but it was tasteless. However, after wasting our time waiting for the food and the coffee and while we were having our dessert the server came and he had the audacity to tell us that we spent along time having food and we have to leave! We will never go back there.

Bayt Al Yemeni was on our list for quiet sometime for the mandi we ordered lamb mandi as ours was small portion so it may be dry, rice was also bland but it is accompanied with spicy sauce. Best was their mezze and grilled sea bass rice along with it was flavourful. Yummy Kunafa was freshly prepared. Also had the Arabic tea instead should have ordered Adani tea. Ordered Yemeni bread but looked different from picture but was nice.Service needs to be improved. Ambiance needs an uplift. Overall food is good.

Nice tasty shawarmas. Indian waitress was quite flustered and not welcoming. Would help to smile and be a little more customer friendly. Parking is non existent in this area.

Alaa aldeen was friendly and cooperative

They catered for a dear friends memorial and provided amazing food that was enjoyed by all. Usually you expect a sacrifice in flavour, quality and variety when catering for so many at such short notice, but these guys went above and beyond and provided a top tier banquet. Highly recommended, a true gem of the West Midlands.

Delicious food, highly recommend

Delicious Middle Eastern food. Freshly cooked and reliably brilliant. Have eaten here many times. Lovely friendly and helpful staff too, great with kids. They’ve got 3 nice seating areas - including some little screened off areas if you want privacy, or some low tables and chairs in the huge room out the back. I’ll be back! Ps. A reviewer below gave 2 stars and complained about them not having fresh bread. They DO, and it’s delicious, but you have to order it, it doesn’t come automatically. It’s called Ratib bread on the menu, try it!!

A brilliant restaurant, we chose them to cater our friend's memorial as she loved to eat here. Zacharia was so helpful every step of the way, the price was amazing and they catered for all dietary requirements. Wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Staff are nice, I loved the theming and being able to sit on the floor, it's so cool that they make it feel like you're sitting in a tent like back home in the desert. Food was good, portions were massive. Don't get the mango special drink because you could make it at home by mixing some mango puree and whole milk lol. 10/10 would recommend, it's also nice watching the buses go by every 7 minutes outside. Also W Palestine supporters, straight up the non-genocide drinks are better than the genocide ones.

A great beginning with lovely warm soup that heightened our expectations for our order of mandi and kebab. Sadly the mandi had mixed pieces of dry lamb cubes, the kebabs in the grill platter were a little on the tough side and the rice was not succulent as mandi rice usually is. It seems mandi with lamb shoulder has to ordered in advance. Overall, it was a rather disappointing experience, especially since it was rated so highly and touted as authentic Yemeni flavoursome cuisine. It is a beautifully appointed restaurant but definitely dated, needs some refurbishing. :)

I don’t rate the food here because that’s how awful my experience was, I got a platter for 2 for me and my mum, at first when we entered the place was quiet and I had a weird vibe. the staff were really awkward and when I was eating the food smelt and tasted off. As soon as I got home I was getting migraines and started vomiting, I didn’t stop for a week. My appetite was gone, I still cannot have chicken or any animal foods because I was put off really badly. It’s been 5 weeks and I’ve lost a lot of weight because I cannot eat properly. Just the thought of the distrust meant of what I had triggers me. I strongly do NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Third time we visited, with a very large order. Food was really disappointing after the first 2 visits. Bland, mainly rice and not enough meat, gave us the wrong rice, and missed out a kebab in the mixed grill. Unlikely to return

I had Yemen breakfast with tea wasn't too brilliant for my liking breakfast it self mince meat with scrambled egg in sizzling pot I have asked staff for a plate and spoon how going to eat it ? Not very good experience breakfast time no offence eating area nice and clean after from that I had better Yemen breakfast not sure what's the hype with local people about this places definitely not for me price I paid wasn't worth it Yemen bread pre packed one you can get from local supermarket no offence you get two stars only

Got taken here by a friend. The food was all new to me. However super tasty and not spicy 🔥 just flavourful. I will explore more of this cuisine on the back of this experience for sure.

unfortunately I cant leave a good review we tried to eat at this restaurant but were left waiting for almost 45 minutes while other guests came in were seated and had food on the table....we simply got up and walked out....maybe because I'm white ?? not sure but it's a shame as we were looking forward to trying the food.

I travel from Liverpool to Birmingham in the Eid day for Yemeni food and I went to this restaurant I ordered salta and lamb mandi the salta was amazing but the lamb mandi it was not good the lamb is not really cooked it was very bad ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had platter takeaway today and it was so nice and freshly made. The place looked clean and the the lady that taken my order was polite and was packaged well.

So far the best Arabic cuisine I have tried in Birmingham. We ordered the combo for 2 and a lamb zurbiyan for 5 people. Very very tasty and flavourful. They serve mayonnaise and chilli chutney with the dishes and both tasted really good. As a person from Kerala where you get not so authentic but very spicy and flavourful Mandi, the food was very relatable and reminded me of home ! The staff behavior was also very good. Must visit and will come back for sure.

Not the same chicken seasoning as last time

Arguably the best place for lamb shank and a Yemeni breakfast that is authentic which you can't really get anywhere else. Absolutely tasty and succulent. All the meats there are so succulent. Love it.

placed an order ,received confirmation, waited over 45 minutes, checked the app order delivered while I received nothing called the restaurant they told me they don't use just eat while I was charged for a food that I didn't receive.what a joke

The food wasn’t fresh, old and just reheated even though they took a really long time to bring it. The meat had a fishy smell. Tbh it was very disappointing and absolutely no worth of money at all. And as you can see I’m talking about my experience the was not good yesterday. I’m not asking for your good reviews. Are you going to deny MY EXPERIENCE just because you have some good ones? Ordered one of their platter, every thing was perfect. Qunatity Price Taste Service 5 stars for every thing. We also orderd one of their bread it was great too. Will visit again.

UPDATE: I. REVISITED THIS PLACE ON 29.11.24 AS MY BROTHER ENJOYS THE FOOD BUT ITS STILL SO COLD IN THE BACK TENT LOOKING THING. WRAP UP WARM. Clean with a touch of Bedouin tent vibes! The starter soup was decent, kinda tasted like an Indian curry 🤣pretty sure it was complimentary. Well prepared food, cold mezze and sharing platter for 4 is huge! All the food is nice, no complaints. Easily feeds 6 tbh 🤣 service is good although the heater wasn't working which was a shame as it was a little cold in the rear seating area. Arabic tea is great, so fragrant.

One of the most horrendous times I have had with bayt al yemen. The service was diabolical with no customer service, staff were very unprofessional and staff did not have a clue what they were doing. Overworkered and understaffed with no sense of customers. The food ordering service was non-existent and got all oder wrong with food missing on order and drinks. The food was overcooked and complained to staff and said its 'okay' Hygiene is a big issue uniforms unclean and staff on their phones and not attentive at all, it's like talking to a brick wall. Ah the so called manager didn't know what day it was, called many times to our table and didn't attend to our issues. Then blamed us that we didn't order properly when staff didn't write the order. Aviod at all costs, I would save your money and go somewhere else. Overall rating -5 the worst place I have ever ordered and eat food from. Won't be going back there again!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Lovely food and reasonably priced

A lovely vibrant Yemini food restaurant to visit. All the food is freshly made, salad, hummus, drinks are very fresh. They have that authentic Arab style sitting on the floor system which make you experience that wonderful Yemini tradition. Had the iftar buffet which was £18. Very reasonably priced and plenty of Yemini food options available to eat. Plenty of seating upstairs aswell. Parking maybe an issue due to it being on a busy road. I just parked in Lidl and walked down. It's free for an hour and half.

Went here for a iftar buffet selection was small no lamb in selection only chicken food was not fresh most likely from day before got food poisoning won't be coming back

I tried this restaurant twice, and I realised most of the staff does not qualify to serve the Guest. Most of the staff is not wearing clean uniforms. Even he didn’t clean his hand. Make the order and order that will be after half an hour every time you remind him, I’ve been ordered, and nobody cares, care about the Guest. The food is very unhealthy, even inside the salad. You

Family oreintated restaurant, with various dining options. They have private floor seating cubicles, in addition to standard table & chairs.ideal for families . We ordered The platter for two( approx £25) which was easily sufficient for 2 adults & 2 young children. Served by pleasnt and helpful young man called Abdur Rahman. Food did take a while to come but overall a very good experience.

Ordered a mix player for £16. Arrived mid way realised it was missing the shawarma. Asked staff he said he will get it, returns to say sorry we ran out. Though they took the order and didn’t tell us this when placing the order. Offered that he will knock the price down. When go pay the bill and he offered a £2 discount for the missing shawarma. Absolutely disappointed in the meal itself and then the service just made the experience worst. Bebe to return.

I have seen this place loads of times and always thought I should go in. Thank god I did, the staff were so friendly and nice and they went through the menu with their recommendations as per our preferred tastes. The lamb shank was amazing and the chicken kebabs the same, an absolute must visit

I don't know where to start. Food was out of this world. Lamb Fahsa was absolutely delicious. Lamb shoulder was super tender and packed with flavour. They have table seating or traditional floor seating with privacy covering. Pricing are reasonable. Great and friendly service from the staff. They also have great clean bathroom facilities. Best Yemeni food in the UK and now my favourite place to eat in the UK! A must go to!
