Visited due to a recommendation and wow. Tiny little pace but an abundance of atmosphere, and a great welcome. Food was amazing and nothing was any trouble. The steak I had was exactly how I liked it cooked and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone in the party fully enjoyed their meals too. This is a MUST place to go but would say to book so you don't miss out.

There is a skill to cooking simple fine food well and this chef delivers it. This tiny restaurant is a wonderful run by a V who creates a warm atmosphere. A superb find.

Lovely intimate bistro with fab food! The lobster bisque was the best I’ve ever had in France or Britain! Wonderful pear tart too.

The last time I had steak with peppercorn sauce as good as that was back in the 60s!

The Tartine Lounge is a very welcoming and relaxed little restaurant with great service from Vanora and Andrew. We had a delicious Sunday Lunch of roast beef, yorkshire puddings with roast potatoes and a selection of veg - the leek gratin was particularly good as was the pear frangipane dessert. Very enjoyable!

Beautiful relaxed bar , restaurant for lunch , dinner. First time here for food and we were absolutely delighted with every dish we ate . We could taste all the different ingredients, the steak was melt in your mouth . I highly recommend it. We will definitely return.

Tartine is BY A MILE the nicest place to eat anywhere within a 15 mile radius of Ripon. The food is consistently top notch, the room - with only 4/5 small tables and tiled walls - is really special and the service really friendly. This place is the best kept secret in North Yorkshire.

We treated ourselves to an impromptu lunch at Tartine and it was a real treat, delicious and a lovely atmosphere - a great addition to Ripon!

As always, a fantastic meal prepared by Andrew and served with a smile from Vanora. This restaurant is a little gem hidden away on Westgate in Ripon. It is truly worth a visit. We will be back soon.

Dinner at Vanora’s is like stepping into the best Parisien brasserie - gorgeous atmosphere, and the food is TIP TOP! Really good value wine list too. Service impeccable and dinner was delicious. Highly recommend (although seflishly nervous others will find this GEM of a dining spot and I’ll have to start booking 6 months in advance 😅) How lucky Ripon is to have Vanora’s ⭐️

We’ve eaten at Tartine many times. A lovely cosy atmosphere, the food is top notch and the Sunday lunch one of the best I’ve eaten in a very long time. Looking forward to our next visit

What a lovely place!! So cosy and welcoming. Their lunch time, evening meals and Sunday lunch are outstanding. After loving this place since it was a bakery, it’s still so welcoming to come to whether we’re eating a meal or having a few drinks at the bar area (made even better when a pizza gets brought our for the people at the bar to share! - tastes delicious!!). We always get a lovely greeting by Vanora and also Andrew when he does a walk around (in the spare moments he has between cooking wonderful food). Thank you both for bringing this cosy place to Ripon

Brilliant restaurant - a hidden gem in Ripon! We took the entire restaurant to host my husbands 'big' birthday - Vanora and Andrew could not have been more accommodating - the food was fantastic, keeping the menu small means that each and every dish is beautifully prepared and delicious. We all had a great time and would highly recommend it.

We love visiting Tartine Lounge. It is a cosy, intimate restaurant with a definite Parisian Bistro feel. The menu changes regularly and always offers a good choice of meat and fish dishes, beautifully cooked by the chef patron. The husband and wife team are always very welcoming and great fun. The bar area gives you the opportunity to have drinks and snacks if you don't want a full lunch and is a great addition. We're looking forward to our next visit soon.

Amazing food, excellent service, all in all, a great night

Lovely little hidden gem of a place. We had some pre-dinner drinks, sat down to a great French inspired meal and it was a really lovely evening. This place has a small, separate bar, great for drinks (even if you are not dining) and a really intimate dining room. Try it out one of these days... you'll not regret it.

I have visited this restaurant many times and everything about it it is special. A couple of my friends live in Harrogate and prefer to come to Vanoras rather than choose a place in Harrogate. It is such a lovely evening our, quirky place, lovely staff and delicious food. What more could you want ?

We have been in the Tartine Lounge a cuple of times for lunch and dinner. The food is absolutely fantastic, really delicious and Andrew and Vanora are wonderful hosts. I only wish I could go more often!

Little gem, don't expect your usual formula menu, different but simple food cooked really well. Not sure how he does it on his own but it's a great place to chill and share a bottle of wine whilst ambling through a dinner. Small bar is always lively with really friendly local crew

We had seen the bar when walking past a few times and decided to pop in. One of the most welcoming and warm experiences (not being from Ripon) from Vanora and her husband. We were treated to complimentary sourdough pizza and pork pies and the drinks we had were delicious. We will definitely be back!

Just had lunch here with some friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and all agreed that it was the best food we had had in years. It felt like a little bit of France on Westgate! Will be recommending to friends and definitely visiting again soon.

I/We don’t do Facebook… so I felt the need to start this trip advisor thread to say to Vanora and Andrew huge thanks for supplying us with such amazing bread for so many years… 👏👏👏 thank you, thank you, thank you….💕 We totally understand and respect your business decisions of what you have decided to do and how you are going forward…. But it has to be said… we have been so very fortunate to have been eating the best bread ever for so many years… you spoilt us… 👏👏👏💕 We moved to North Yorkshire over 9 years ago and initially we could not find a bakery that was anything as good as the Hand Made Bakery, Slaithwaite…. That was until we found Vanora’s. A Godsend in our bread world…. Thank you for making us both so happy for so long, your bread will never be forgotten and will always be remembered… We have been busy munching our way through so many personal favourite loaves of Vanora’s for a long time… We both wish you well and whilst we will so sorely miss your bread…we understand your business decision completely…. Amazing deli and lovely (very) small restaurant at back. Service was amazing, restaurant like being in a 5* high class Mediterranean bistro in St Tropez the 50's. Jazz playing and amazing simple food. Perfect. Highly recommended

Maybe one of Ripon's best kept secrets. The Tartine Lounge is a lovely intimate bistro in the back of Vanora's Bakery. Simple French inspired menu prepared to perfection and excellent service. Great place for couples and small groups. Staters/Mains around £9/£20, great value. Booking essential.

Excellent range of breads cheeses and salami love it

The Tartine Lounge, a little 14 seat Bistro at the back of the bakery is a hidden gem treat. Delicious bread, oil and balsamic di Modena to start, Bouillabaisse matched with refreshing, crisp Picpoul. Finally a surprise Manchego cheese cake. Attentive, thoughtful service. You need to book.

Just discovered this little gem in Ripon. We bought a selcetion of wonderful breads, cheeses and meats. And the most delicious pork pies and scotch eggs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can‘t wait to go back and try out their bistro.

This place is absolute heaven. Fantastic homemade breads and pork pies. The pork pie is the best I have ever eaten! They have a small section out the back to sit in. Booking essential and well worth every penny. Definitely one of Ripons best hidden gems.

Delicious breads, cheeses and patisseries, must visit if you're in Ripon. Not cheap but the quality is extremely good. Check open hours as they are not open every day.

The best sourdough bread. The olive, rosemary and lemon special sourdough was delicious. Really recommend the black olives also. Owners are friendly. Place gets busy but the queues certainly worth the wait.

What a place to buy artisan breads and cured meats.

We had never been there before and we went there today because we wanted a snack but wanted something other than chains (Greggs etc). They told us exactly what they did and showed us the options. We left with a brownie, pork pies, brown sourdough bread (the round one) and the daily special which was Rosemary & Raisin. The caramel brownie was incredibly tasty, the sourdough brown bread was also very delicious. The chilli sauce/relish in the pork pie was amazing and we need to go back to buy a jar of that amazing relish ASAP! I wouldn't normally have Rosemary & Raisin bread but after I tried it, I was mesmerised. It is a very different taste but I absolutely loved it!!! The service from start to finish was wonderful! And I look forward to going back.

We decided to go for a graze box as we saw this recommended by others. We both really enjoyed it, and we’ll worth the money! Must try, and goes really well with a white / rose wine. We ordered online and arranged for collection. Easy to do. Normally a little wait to get in to the shop but worth it. Lovely staff too

Best bread in the whole of Yorkshire! And the croissants give the French a run for their money. You need to try the Chelsea buns, and the sausage rolls, and the pork pies, and the brownies..... Get in quickly before they sell out. Unbeatable. Friendly, quality service
