I am really happy to have found this restaurant, before I ate hamburgers and similar rubbish that you find in this country, they don't have their own food and moreover when they cook something they think "what can we add to this hamburger?!, I know let's add JAM, UK? a country like this is not worth living in. I love Romanian food a lot !! I used to live in Romania, and the food there is just mouthwatering 🤤 I'm gonna rate this place with a 5 🌟 and a 10/10 for the food and service. The woman there was very friendly and she had a warm and kind approach. I completely forgot that when you go to a Romanian restaurant, you just ask straight away what you want since Romanians already know exactly what they want to eat, whether that's breakfast, lunch or dinner and it's a lot easier and quicker to get your food on the table but overall, a really nice lite cozy place. I loved the background music too. Definitely recommend it, and I will be returning again soon. Remember, if you pay with CASH 💰 you'll get a 20% discount, which I didn’t know until the woman told me, so I went to get some cash. In my opinion, this is actually a decent amount of discount, especially when you dine in with friends or family.

Vegetarian sarmale and papanasi was amazing!

Me and the wife had a great meal here, it really is a meat lovers paradise with large portions. The food takes a while as it's cooked fresh, but it's worth it. Had a great Roumanian brandy too. Very friendly staff who got me a upright chair and checking we were enjoying our food.

This small restaurant used to be called La Mamaia Kitchen, but the change of name has not affected to great Romanian food they serve. It was quite busy when we were there, but we were well looked after and the food was again excellent.

I don not remember how many barbecues I have done in the last 3 years...but the smalls or to say on our language micii,they were dry!! not luscious as supposed to be,same with the sausage,definitely the food was reheated not freshly made on grill or charcoal I can not say apologies for the given stars guys even though we spoke the same language. I expect a good quality Romanian food but really,is like trying to sell meat to the butchers and that happened with the meal..

When I got home I didn't know if they were small or sausages, they are as thin as a finger, I have never seen such small dry and burnt thin ones in my life, I think they made two into one 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

This place is only for Romanians strictly. I The staff doesn't speak English and my food order was never arrived to the table, it was completely forgotten, but probably I was charged for it. I've never seen the bill, I've got only a total to pay. I didn't even got an apology. They have pizza on their menu but they said they cannot make it. We ordered 2 potions of fries, but we have never got any. We left after 3 hours without any food. I suspect if you are not Romanian, don't go there. The other guests, who were from that country had got their food and drinks fine.

Food supposed to be at 20 min, it was after 50. Beef in burger was so thought that it was hard to bite, oriental salad include eggs potatoes onion olives and paprika (why???) Pancakes from tesco look betere than what we get. Never again

Waited 50 minutes for a soup and some grill. Didn't have two of the dishes i went there for in the first place. Last time i ordered they billed me for a soup they didn't have only to call me and ask if i want a different one. Soup was so salty, i couldn't eat it.

We've been here tonight in a group of 6. The service was excelent, food was perfect for everyone(considering on of our friend is vegetarian) and also good atmosphere. We felt like in Romania, in a small but full of heart restaurant. Thank you for this lovely night!

I absolutely love La Mamaia Kitchen and I am happy that I can always rely on them delivering a taste of home. The soups and deserts are always excellent but I must admit my absolute favourite is thier aubergine salad. With the mains, as with any restaurant, some dishes are better than others, you just need to work your way in finding your favourites.

Friendly staff and owner, foods and drinks are fine, sole Romanian drinks can be found in here. Soups are great, some of the main meals are nice, some are not that nice but I strongly believe it is a matter of tastes. I scored 4 stars as the eat in area is very small and it could do with a larger area if business goes well and owner decides to extend or move to a bigger place.

The worst restaurant, I waited for an hour, my neck was sore, my friend gave him a plate from the garbage, I think (the most chipped) even the bread is paid separately, I'll buy 10 loaves of bread only for free until you, I didn't have encountered such a thing!👌 Pity, those who don't believe, go and try, but I don't wish you such a service.....

Worst place possible, I don't recommend at all, all food is dry and stuff is awful, I waited more than 1h for pork steak and it was terrible at taste. Don't waste your time visiting this place. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

At Mamaia, the belly in the soup was a bit uncooked (could it be because the price of gas went up?!?) and the juice didn't really have cream and egg in it. The waitress didn't ask me if I wanted cream, but nah, like in Romania, if you need something, you ask. Cilanun with beans, more beans and a few pieces of sausage cut like a purade; I didn't see the thug, it's a good thing I have him in my pants, that saying.. The place, unimpressive and a bit unkempt with TV on ZU... Romanian thing £5.50 for soup £7 for a colander, sorry, beans with some skimpy, good at least they were cooked well. Total £12 and 50 of this money of theirs...what do they call it..pi Dear lord, dear; they should pay taxes on this money in Romania as well. Next time I'm through Reading I'm going to the Arabs and putting a shamor on the speedo.

AVOID PLEASE THEY ARE A RIPOFF If I can give this restaurant no star, I would. My boyfriend brought me here to have a taste of Romania food but it was all tasteless and cold. I ordered the chicken soup, it was barely lukewarm, bread was cold The main meal of Samale was ice cold and I told them to return but lost my appetite anyway and told them to cancel the order but they charged for the whole meal anyways. Just after money with poor service

Delivery delayed by an hour and the food arrived cold. Lack of professionalism. I do not recommend. It's already the 3rd time.

Being a Romanian restaurant, I had expectations. But the service was very bad, the soup was brought first, then the cutlery, the belly soup was so vinegary that it was hard to eat, salt was only brought when I asked, and no pepper at all, 3 napkins for 5 people, the food it was brought without clearing the table beforehand and the second course (tochitura) was cold and dry and the dessert was not at all what it should have been. Disappointing!

Worse food, degaussing... No needs more explications... i just had to drop to the bin all the stuff... looks like i just spend some money for nothing. Out of it

Ordered few times without any issues but this time only they let me down badly. My 10" pizza was like 6" size, the garlic sauce was just plain water not to mention the entire food order was absolute cold. Never again

We went to this place and its very small only 3 people maximum 4 can stay inside . Chairs are very tall like bar chairs .no one to approach you when you go inside...one of the staff member I guess just said hello and went in to the back ... without saying :" can I help or something like that " the space doesn't make this place to be called a restaurant.... sorry ...

New takeaway... serving great Romanian dishes...from great starters...main dishes and some amazing desserts, I've just had there traditional kebab... wrapped in a tortilla...meat...chips... cabbage...pickles and salad...👌 Amazing combination great taste...on my doorstep...very nice...try 😉
