Ridiculous price increase. £10 increase on a meal for 2 . Not acceptable . Won’t be using again

Payday takeaway. Thought I would try here. Never again. Prawn toast had no prawn...I have photos. Beef chow mein had such large chunks of chewy meat. Don't waste your money. I mean it's a huge amount of food, but I'd rather smalled and tastier

Scheduled an order 2 hours before and yet it arrived over an hour later then scheduled! Food was pretty cold and bland. Would not order again! Waste of money

I have been ordering from Valley Wok for years and years, it’s my local chippy and I love it! no other place compares. I am a loyal customer for sure. The chips are always spot on and fresh, so is the fish and they hands down have the best curry sauce! I occasionally like ordering their chow mein, which is also delicious! can’t beat Valley Wok!

Food was great but was over 1 hour late

Ordered over £30 worth of food for collection, they were extremely busy and gave me my order, all cooked to order and fresh, highly recommend

First time I went here food was not great. Gave it another shot but unfortunately still not great. The Chinese food is the worst I've had. Both times.

5 stars for delivering food on time and it tasted better than I expected. I don't understand the bad reviews I always loved the food especially after the new management. Try it yourself don't go on reviews!

I eat here regular and I'm always pleased with the food. The staff are friendly and often throw a complimentary drink in with my order. Great chinese takeaway all in all

Waited over an hour and a half for delivery. Phoned 3 times, was told it was on it’s way each time. I am approx 5 mins away by car…..they just gave standard response. It only turned up when threatened to cancel order. Food was bland, one dish was so salty it was inedible. First and last time using this place. Avoid.

Food arrived quickly and hot. But it was pretty bland. The satay sauce is very sweet and lacking depth, plus at £3.50 for the mediocre pot, it was a bit of a rip off. The Hu Nan wasn't spicy either and the sauces across the board seemed thin and lacking in flavour. The onion/beansprout chow mein was nice, as were the chips. I only ordered as my local was closed today. But sadly won't be returning.

Just had delivery after waiting for over an hour. Food was warm so had to use microwave. Called and told them, got offered 10% discount off next order. I will not be ordering again. Chicken balls were soggy, fried rice was stodgy and not fried. Noodles very salty.

Dreadful service. Hour and a half waiting for food to be delivered. When it did turn up 1 item was missing so called and was told it would be delivered immediately. Arrived 25minutes later after we had eaten rest of meal! Not the first time this has happened. Asked that the owner call me and he has not

Of three orders I've had with this takeaway, twice the order was not fulfilled, I will not be using this takeaway again, they failed to put drinks in with the order, I was warned about this takeaway, I should've listened, don't bother with it

Awful service. Ordered first time this weekend and one item missing. Told would look into and call back , but we would have to prove non-receipt. No call back received . How do you prove non-receipt. Very rude and will not be using again ever. Now had a response from this establishment who advised I was wrong as every bag is double checked before delivery. I find this unbelievable service and why would I lie about this. I have had a further response and was advised they do replace missing items. This is not the case here as they refused to replace it and basically said I was in the wrong. If they had of replaced it, i would not be posting a review like this.

Tried Valley Wok for the first time on a Tuesday night when our regular Chinese was closed. Bit of a gamble as my husband is very particular about his chicken curry. Everything was superb! I like a good selection of nice vegetables in my dishes and they didn't dissappoint. Fresh, lovely veg throughout. I had special foo yung with vegetarian Singapore noodles. Delicious! Hubby had his usual chicken curry and loved it. So much so that he wants this one next time. And I can't wait to work my way through the rest of their menu! They had no issue with swapping out the free prawn crackers (we never eat them) for a satay sauce and we even got a surprise free pudding of banana fritters with a lovely hand written note welcoming us as new customers! Highly recommended and sadly for our regular one, we will be switching to Valley Wok. Good work guys!

40 mins wait for chips shocking won’t use again

First time visit to Valley Wok....well, what can I say, absolutely fantastic, can't recommend enough. The food was excellent, I had Chicken Foo Yung, the best I've tasted, my husband had Chicken curry, he said it was fabulous, and our friend had Singapore vermicelli, and she said it was amazing, we had side order of chips, which I have to say were delicious....and a portion of curry sauce. A friend recommended Valley Wok to us, she said the portions were huge...and they really are...and I have a massive appetite! The best Chinese takeaway in Brighton, let alone Portslade. Will definitely be returning. We ordered online, and collected. The girl that served us was so incredibly efficient and lovely too. Thank you so much...it was perfect......you made our Tuesday night perfect. The person who commented that he had eaten in Hong Kong and Australia!!!!! This Chinese cuisine has been totally changed for westerners!!!! Chinese people don't eat the food they serve in takeaways!!!!! So, I would completely ignore their negative comments!! We've eaten all over the world!!!! Comparing a Chinese takeaway in Portslade to that would be ludicrous. Valley Wok you are doing an amazing job....we'll definitely be returning, and telling everyone how delicious our takeaway was.

so delicious loved the food so much i have ordered a few times and the delivery was extremely fast and the drivers are very friendly also came in for collection and was greeted by very welcoming staff which whom i believe were the owners so kind and friendly the food is really good if you like a Chinese cuisine and many vegetarian options to chose they also have fish and chips and a variety of english cuisines i highly recommend great service and gorgeous food 10/10

I really appreciated how the staff went out of their way to cater to my vegan dietary requirements :) I got a big portion of mushroom rice and Malaysian satay tofu with veg. Super filling and I have some leftover!

Ordered for family of 4 over phone to collect. Once home I noticed they gave me Singapore rice instead of noodles. Called back expecting them to change for me instead I got told it was my fault as I should have seen the ticket! Explained I ordered over the phone,Only to be told once again it was my fault! Unbelievably rude, I will not be using them again. Food was really dry and hard rice, absolutely terrible!

This had to be hands down the worse Chinese I have ever eaten. I am shocked at the prices and shocked and disgusted with how bad this food is. I have worked in a Chinese takeaways in Australia and have eaten in Hong Kong many times and was expecting a lot more than this. Clearly people who have liked this food have never had good Chinese before and I pity them. I am beyond disappointed

They need to work on there chips, they always seem old chips that's been done a few days before

Fish and chips are really good here. Portion sizes are great to and staff are friendly. Not tried much of the Chinese food but what I have, has been good quality

Worst food I've EVER had. Ordered 2 Hamburgers, only received 1, and that was abysmal. A dry bun, and an overcooked burger, that's it...nothing else in it at all. Chips all looked brown, overcooked and like they are yesterday's leftovers. Won't be ordering from there again.

Went there the other day to treat my self with a curry only thing is there was no prawns in it I get mixed meat curry and everywhere else puts prawns in put was still nice tho

Nice friendly and very helpful staff. Large Cod was lovely, chips were generally good 4/5 chips had black eyes but the rest where very nice. None! to small and frazzled up and not nice to eat like some other chippies so a big thumbs up from me. I would definaterly eat from here again and recommend.

Really very nice takeaway. Made with decent ingredients. Veg doesn't feel rubbery, like some, and there is a really good selection of dishes, all cooked to perfection / tasting great. Special fried rice had almost as much meat and gravy as rice and the hunan chicken is a blinder!

I haven't lived in this area long and this is easily one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time, the staff were very friendly, food didn't take long to be cooked and the price is as expected for a takeaway. Couldn't find any faults. Will definitely be back again.

The delivery is always a little early and the portion sizes are amazing. I love the curry sauce from this place. Must try :)

Got a large cod here for my dad and he said it was very burnt. We've come to this place for many of years! Need the old staff back. Not only that but the yazoos used to be £1 and now it's £1.50.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have bought takeaway food from this business many times over the past 5 or so years. Today takeaway order took 1 1/2 hours to deliver instead of promised 30 to 45 minutes. Very disappointed when it arrived. Scampi (not whole, just thin strips) burnt almost black, battered onion rings soggy and all stuck together, soggy chips. Everything looked like it had been cooked and kept warm prior to delivery to me. Phoned to complain, learned that the business has new owners. That explains it. Food was always good before. Needless to say, I won't be buying from this place again!

Best Chinese and fish and chips

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. The fish was just gross, just filled with grease... the chips tasted disgusting, seems like they had be sat there for ages, they look and taste stale. The only good thing about my meal was the bottle of tango. Deffo won't be going they're again, and will not recommend them to anyone.

Been a regular customer for years, spent £30 today gross food, was insulted with 10% of next order, went down to talk to them not fussed about losing custom spoke to me like an idiot, spoke to me like i was lying give me £5 refund, shame because was a great venue

Not a great food experience at all. All tasted greasy, with rice and broccoli being over cooked an soggy.

Although the food was early they forgot the special fried rice which they did send up but I have to say I've been using this takeaway for 15 years and the last 4 months it's gone down hill the food is now tasteless, the"new" special fried rice is awful and the batter on the last 3 fish we have had has been soggy. we will give this place a miss now

The order was incorrect so rang them and they said the order is corect to what they have got on Just eat so looked on recent orders and the website had messed the order up ended up with two of something that I ordered once and didn’t get the other item

Asked for Dr Pepper. Got Diet Coke. Was told they don’t do Dr Pepper. So why was it on the menu? Mugged me off about 30p of my change and hurried off to the car before I had a chance to say something. Then the food, hmmm well that was just tasteless. Won’t be ordering from them Again. Waste of time and money. Only good thing was they arrived early!

Didn’t have the complete order had to phone to get the rest delivered as the restaurant didn’t read the order properly.

We really enjoyed it, the food came piping hot and the pancake rolls were crispy and not dripping in grease, sweet and sour chicken balls were lovely and the sauce was really nice. There was plenty of it too. Will continue to order if the quality is maintained.

It was the most disgusting slimy gravy rice I’ve ever had. I had to eat it because I was so hungry but given the choice again I would never order from here I thought I could go wrong with special fried rice !!!!

The delivery was put back by 30 minutes by restaurant, to then be another half an hour late on top of that. Food was greasy, cold & of poor quality. All in all a waste of money. Will never buy from there again.
