Love their Baltis, very friendly staff

The staff friendly and the food decent, but beware service charge added and they don't give you your change back.so over £11.5O TIP and prices are not the cheapest. Won't be back.

Love Vakas, my go-to curry house

To be honest the food was good- but I think there prices are a little out of touch -EG -charging £4.00 for a bowl of dips for pompudums / starters is outrageous - just trying to make extra cash from the working man’s pocket and be careful because they put there own service charge on the bill - come on do you think that your something special !! It’s Colley gate nit the west end .

Food is very good. Service is pretty good but I think it is a bit of a piss take when they put a gratitude charge on your bill. I won’t ask if you have to pay it they say yes I really think they need to think this through as it’s not a five star restaurant and it should be optional if you want to leave a tip.

Pre ordered a large order in advance for a birthday celebration. Vakas called me on the day as a courtesy to check times for delivery etc. Food came piping hot, order was all correct and was very tasty. Cannot fault the service, Thank you.

Normally the madras is real spicy but for some reason it was no hotter than a Korma this time

I have been to Vakas many, many times and ordered takeaway too. Never had a bad meal here, love trying the different options. The staff are friendly and helpful.

My meal(Bombay chicken) was lovely, but my Wife's meal(Vakas special Balti)she said had a strange taste mainly from the prawns but also the meat which put her off eating it. Shame, as until now we have had flawless meals from Vakas.

Food was ready when I got there. All of us enjoyed our food. Will be returning there soon

Love this place by far the best food around

Have used Vakas for over 20 years, but not so much over past 2 yrs, made a reservation for Saturday night 6.30, for 2, sitting against the wall, table was ready but not against the wall, hate being in the middle. Ali not present the manager since 2017, we ordered and noticed, take aways extremely busy, and waiting, restaurant full and busy, we waited approx 20 mins, and food came but I could tell that my order was not as usual, as it was the wrong colour. Tasted OK but bland and not the curry I have come to love and compare other Indians by. I ate it but not happy, staff got more ragged as the evening went on, bringing the wrong meals to the tables, and people waiting for take aways. Ali was obviously not there and it showed, even the towels were cold, sadly my worst experience there in over 20 yrs. Hope it's better next time, or will stop using, we used to use every Saturday night, but it has become to busy, and popular.

Food really cold not enjoyable at all. Really disappointed.

The best lamb I’ve ever tasted! Always cooked to perfection with rich, authentic flavors. Whether you dine in or get a takeaway, the quality and taste are consistently amazing. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great Indian food.

Travelled from Wales to stay with friends and dined here. Ali was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was excellent, piping hot and fresh. Highly recommend.

We use this restaurant often but tonight found metal in my food they asked if it was in the rice or in the curry or the meat They had already got my partners order wrong and had to change it

Not particularly hot. The app said it was out for delivery.. but we had to call the restaurant after 30minutes of waiting to find out where our food was. As I said it was not particularly hot, did not enjoy it on this occasion as much as we normally do.

My favourite place for food. Staff are excellent and are more than happy to help with any needs.

So I have ordered from here before and had no problems at all. Now tonight the food was delivered early and I thought everything was all okay, turn out I was missing part of the order. After calling the restaurant I was asked if they could sort it out next time or I would have to wait a while to get the remaining order. I told them if I have ordered it I clearly wanted it this evening. 20 mins after calling and my order being delivered the rest of it turns up with no apologies from anyone.

Food was average. Nice service throughout meal however we were called the week before the booking and asked to arrive half an hour earlier than reservation. Which we did after changing plans. Then as soon as we had finished eating our main course we were asked to vacate our table as it was needed. No ask for dessert or coffee or even a chance to finish the drinks we were half way through. Disappointing end to a meal and unlikely to return based on this. When I asked why as we had only been seated for an hour the waiter just said because we have another table waiting. Poor service.

Food was hot. I've no real complaints with it, except the vindaloo wasn't a traditional vindaloo. It tasted bitter and loaded with powdered spice. It's hard to find a good vindaloo because if the chef don't enjoy them, they're not going to be good.

Booked a table, arrived 5 minutes late due to traffic and travelling 30+ milesfor family garhering...then we were rushed though our food and soon as we were finished eating we were told we need you to vacate you table as it is booked and the next party have arrived, yet people who where there when we arrived were still sat drinking at their table as we left. Totally disgusting service for a paying family of 5

We had reserved a table prior to our visit. It was a Saturday evening and considering the restaurant was really busy we didn't have to wait too long for our starters and main course. The food is lovely as always. The staff are friendly too.

Sorry but I was pretty disgusted with my food tonight I was half way through it when I started heaving after finding hairs in my takeaway curry really won't be using vakas again

The food is lovely and it's great to be able to take your own food and drink. However, we were rushed throughout the meal as they wanted to free up the table very quickly.

ordered after 10:30pm close to closing time but still the food was deliciously made to perfection, only two negetives were they couldn’t deliver at that time on tuesday night as they had no drivers and the bill total price was only £1 higher than what their online website calculated but didn’t make a difference as food is brilliant, still will use them again when i pass by

Impromptu visit. Really nice food loads to choose from.. Free parking too. I have been many time and its always good - you should give it a try. the restaurant is unlicensed which i think is a bonus. Extremely pleasant staff and reasonably priced

This is a well established restaurant and eaten in here a few times over the years. Wide range of meals and chef specials to suit all Indian cuisine lovers. It's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. You will find it isn't a huge venue but is a good thing as service certainly the day we went was fast and efficient. Food was served extremely hot, so definitely cooked and served immediately. This isn't a licensed restaurant, so you can take in your own drinks. They also do a takeaway service, should you wish to eat in the comfort of your own home.

First time went in very good customer service, very welcoming staff was seated straight away, had to get it as a takeaway.. was served quickly, gentlemen’s were nice and lovely. Manager was around and greeted us, Decor was actually really nice and stunning especially the flower wall!😍 i definitely recommend this place for a dine in, i personally would go again! Enjoy♥️

Just ordered a tandoori mixed grill delivery....absolutly bang on,really enjoyed it,only fault would be ide like a bit more salad,however still got 5 stars fom me!!,very tasty and the best mixed grill i have had in the areawilk definatly try again 👍🏻

Fantastic food and service, not been for a long time.

Staff are welcoming and very friendly. Food tasted great! My only complaint is the katlama wasn't a katlama, it was a keema naan. I've notice many places do this. The Naga curry wasn't very spicy either. I regularly eat very spicy food so was a bit disappointed. Non the less the food was lovely.

The food was appalling. We use vakas and have always used vakas, this was the worse curry we have ever had. The masala sauce was runny like water and flavorless. I rang the business to voice a complaint and got told to go thru just eat. So here I am. Refund requested as my partner had all of 4 mouthfuls
