Mainly good service although the dishes were a bit hit and miss. Altogether an enjoyable experience but seemed pricey. A great looking venue.

So sad this place is shutting down, it’s absolutely top notch and I feel bad for anyone who hasn’t got to experience it. We are not usually fans of posh food but we’ve made an exception for this place because the flavours and textures are out of this world, the chefs must have a passion for food as it really shines through. Waiting staff are really friendly and attentive as well - will miss it a lot!

Had a meal last night with my partner. We have been before and had amazing food and last night was no different. The food was absolutely superb. Each vegetable dish came with one or two delicious sauces. I am so sad this fantastic eatery is closing. There are so few places serving really good vegan food that doesn’t involve fake meat. We had a great time here! I like the idea of sharing the large plates. We had 5 dishes between 2 and we were so full! The dishes were very flavoursome. A unique restaurant in Sheffield that is a must try!

Cracking set of dishes for our evening visit, the food is fresh and tasty - it is a sharing menu so you can try and range of dishes. Note there is a lack of ample parking nearby as this is mostly street based around the Kelham Island area. I’d recommend a lovey visit here

Went for the first time recently. One of the best meals I’ve had anywhere - and I’m not even a V or a V myself. Love the halloumi. Oh my. And now I’ve just heard that it’s closing down- absolutely gutting! Can somebody find them a white knight please?

The food was almost cremated, haloumi should be browned not charred and blackened. All I could taste was charcoal in most of the dishes I had. My visit was on Saturday night, and the flames from the grill were almost a meter high which shows the ferocity by which the food was being burnt. sorry but burnt is the way I would call it, not cooked or barbequed. The only dish which was OK was the smashed potatoes. Sorley disappointed with a bill of circa £150 between four of us. Maybe we should have complained or sent the food back, but we soldiered on and have decided it better to just not go back. the cabbage was just a cabbage cut in half, I don't know the preparation but tasted like it had come out of a can of oil, this was also black on the underside. The dishes seem to be experimental ingredient choices, which is no bad thing.

First visit here and I never thought vegetables could taste so good. The food is amazing. We visited for my birthday, table of 5 and ordered food to share and we were not disappointed. Service was spot on too. Lovely atmosphere.

My hubby booked us a table here for my 50th on 4th October. I was a bit worried it would be weird being so early at 5.30pm. I shouldn't have worried. Despite there only being one other couple in there at that time, the atmosphere was welcoming and very comfortable, staff friendly and attentive without being overly so.... perfectly pitched. I have been vegetarian around 30 years, (two brief meat eating breaks) and this place beats anything I have eaten before. Just wow! I am stil haunted by the whole buffalo halloumi, it was THAT good!... the nettle flatbread were amazing....it all was! Even the hubby was impressed and he's a meat eater. The whole experience was special, perfectly run and sensationally delicious, thank you!

I'm not Vege or vegan and it really didn't matter. The food here was exceptional. The Korean fried Cauliflower was better than the best fried chicken I've had. The chef who designed that sauce that goes with it is has a fantastic palate. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield now along with Joro.

Went to V or V for my 50th with a friends and family. Not our first time but was for some of our party ( non veggies). Can not thank the Matt and his team enough. Due to the size of our party we had a set menu of their tapas style plates to share. The food came out at a nice pace. The food as always was spectacularly tasty. Even the meat eaters were impressed. Would recommend VorV to anyone wanting to try a different experience and super tasty food . Thanks for making me birthday even better

Very delicious food, all felt fresh and homemade. Service was really good, all staff were kind. It's a bit pricey, but taking into account the variety and the quality of the plates, it's totally worth it. We'll surely repeat!

Best meal I’ve had in a long time. The Sunday supper club gives you an array of choice! It includes a .5l of wine for a bargain £52 (for 2 ppl sharing). The miso cauliflower is a must and the nettle flatbreads were 👌 Go and indulge!

What a meal! Our first time at V or V and the food was the best we've had for years - everything was so tasty with amazing yet simple ingredient combinations. The service and attention to detail was outstanding, especially the treatment of my wife's food intolerance with an annotated menu just for her. We also couldn't believe how cheap it was. Fantastic!

Atmosphere is excellent, it feels like a special wee hiding spot. The skill in this kitchen is superb also. The ability to create so many great flavour combinations whilst exploring textures using only vegetables is something to admire. Portion sizes are good value and the service was relaxed but informed.

We had dinner here which consisted of a few different small plates. All the food was very tasty and the dishes were quite original. It definitely leans to the rich and spicy side of the flavour profile. The service was friendly and good and the interior is simple but nice. Definitely recommended!

Unbelievably good veggie and vegan food! Possibly my new fave vegan restaurant in Sheffield, which is saying something. Delicious tasting and well presented tapas dishes. Lovely cocktails. On the pricey side, so not somewhere I could go all the time but definitely a place to go as a treat. Music playing created a great ambiance and we loved the vibe.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and how it isn’t the best restaurant in Sheff yet I have no idea. The food is creative, fun and nothing died for you to have an amazing time (I’m not veggie or vegan). I am wowed every time I eat here. I had the big breakfast and the homemade “haggis” is a game changer and my partner had the wild mushrooms on toast. There was loads of food for the price )11.25 for the breakfast which was huge and delicious. Yet you can go round the corner to Grind cafe and get one slice of toast with half and avocado (literally not even a whole one) with ONE poached egg and it’s £12.50 and then an extra £4 for bacon. So £16.59 for ago toast! Trust me come here! Meat eater or not it is too top class and you won’t miss the meat options. It’s truly a joyful place to eat. And it doesn’t take the piss just because it’s in a lovely part of the city.

Superb ! We found this restaurant online and popped in on a Sunday to see if it was worth booking an evening meal ( we live a few hours from Sheffield so need to book hotels for nights out ). We tried 4 dishes and all 4 were delicious. The originality and imagination put into these dishes is exceptional. I’ve noticed a couple of comments saying it is pricey, but this is food you will only find in high end restaurants that would cost 2-3 times more if you could find them. This is great value as this is an exceptional menu. If you want interesting food…… look no further.

The vegan breakfast was delicious. We loved the mushroom and the chickpea fritters. My daughter and I decided to split the dish and had half each. A half breakfast option would be good if I had no one to split it with. This would be great for brunch.

These V food is on another level, never had anything like this. Atmosphere is great but pricey. Looking for parking is challenging not because road is small parking is full because it's a residential area.

I visited V.or.V for the first time today and had breakfast there. The place had a relaxed vibe, the food was excellent, and the coffee was really good too. The menu was diverse and a lot of the vegetarian dishes were also available as vegan options. Overall I was really impressed and I will definitely be returning in the future. I would highly recommend.

The food was excellent and some of the most exciting we'd eaten in Sheffield. The major disappointment was to be told the booking was only for 90 minutes and constantly reminded of this, being asked to order a desert before we'd even finished our mains. 90 minutes is simply not long enough and being pressured throughout the meal made it far less enjoyable than it should have been. The pressure was further ratcheted up when the people booked onto our table turned up early. Many places have a 90 minute booking, but that's based on having enough capacity in the system to let some tables go over slightly and giving the staff enough time to clean the tables etc. It was the first place I have ever been where they were so hard line about it and reminded us several times through the meal that we would be leaving at an exact time. It felt rushed and having that deadline meant we felt unable to have desserts, more drinks, coffee etc. It let down what is truly superb food. I get trying to maximise profits by getting as many covers as possible; but when that is to the detriment of the experience, it does not lead to the best way of maximising profits in terms of loyalty and recommendations. I have never eaten anywhere with such good food that I can't honestly recommend to friends.

A proper food experience. So many flavours, some of which were quite incredible. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Only criticism was some of the food felt too oily/deep fried.

Say that the leeks are inedible as too burnt. Reply "we get that alot". Jerk neepsend oyster mushroom completely inedible, chewy, seasoned so bad. Sent back the whole dish. Neither of us could eat it. But when the bill came. Absolutely everything still on there to pay. Paid, will never be back again. Shame as service nice. Food not and don't care when you say what's wrong with it.

As most have already said. Quite simply the best place to eat in Sheffield. There's a reason it is now me and my other half's go to for meals out. I've taken pure meat eaters here and they walk out shell shocked and promising to go back!

We visited the restaurant for the first time last weekend. The food was delicious and offered a lovely combinations of flavours. Some unusual ingredients to showcase the wide variety of vegetables on offer, all on small plates that were tasty and filling. My favourites were...

Overpriced vegetables is what this place is. Don’t get me wrong - what they do with their vegetables is very tasty! But when the average price for a small plate is £10 and the waitress recommends you get 5 dishes between 2 people it’s a little costly for what it is… Also, the menu might as well be in another language. Apart from the full English breakfast, I didn’t have a clue what any of it was. I have several niggles about the service: 1. The waitress didn’t ask how the food was once it had been served, 2. Not once were we asked if we wanted any more drinks (and yes I did) 3. Half the table had about 6 plates before the other half had anything at all 4. My friend ordered peaches and got oranges, only to be told the waitress forgot to tell us the menu had changed 5. Because half of the table had finished eating before the other half, the waitress decided to start clearing their plates whilst the other half were still eating. Personally, I find this incredibly rude. I ended up going for the breakfast because it was A) the least expensive and, B) the least of a gamble as to what I would be served. And I have to say, I cleared the plate. It was delicious. Would I go back? It’s a no from me. Neither would my friends. Sorry. Oh and £2.70 for a 250ml can of pop. Seriously?? #costoflivingcrisis
