Always busy but quick service. Chips are elite. Fish always crispy. Home made tartare sauce is the best in the region imo.

I always use V. Gorman's for my takeaways as the food is always top class, very tasty and great size portions for a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always serve with a smile.

Many times on our way home we have phoned in an order to collect on the way past. Friendly staff, good food, decent portion sizes and food is ready for the time you wanted it. The 5 piece cod and chips easily feeds 2 if not 3 people, the tartare sauce is lovely and so are the beanies.

Ordered fish and chips for delivery, arrived quicker than I expected. lovely and hot tasted lovely but couldn’t eat it all big portion. Delivery guy was lovely and friendly and very professional, would definitely recommend 1st time I’ve had anything from here but won’t be the last

They use beef dripping (tallow) instead of vegetable oil, which is great as beef dripping makes the food healthier. I wish more restaurants and takeaways would be like this. FYI other restaurants use vegetable oil or sunflower oil. Vegetable oil is an inflammatory seed oil, it is high in omega 6 and linoleic acid, which damages cell membranes in the body when consumed.

Honestly became a little guilty pleasure! Found this little gem just through a friend and haven’t looked back, the place is so clean! The food is all cooked fresh when you go in and the patties are all homemade which just makes a massive difference to any chipshop! Service is amazing, the man on the front counter is so friendly, thank you for your service!

Food was ok. But need to put something on just eat where you can request salt and vinegar on your food!

Lovely food yet again, good portions

The fish ( haddock) was excellent however the chips less so. Delivered 15mns late which may account for it being not piping hot. Chips were disappointing.

The food came to £46 and was lukewarm warm. The battered cod and hake was bland bad the only thing making it tasty was the tartar sauce. Very disappointing. The deliver was between 5:30 and 5:50 and did not arrive until 6:30. This was meant to be a real treat for the family what a shame

Not great tonight unfortunately, chips were soggy & must of been stacked under a heavy order as box was holed so chips were seasoned with a nice sprinkle of wet cardboard & pizza was lukewarm 👎🏼 late too

They lie online and spread misinformation. Anyone that uneducated shouldn't be in the food industry. I'd question if anyone here actually has a hygiene or food safety qualification.

the fish was dry from sitting in the hot cupboard , bottom batter on fish was to hard to eat and fish welded to it , very disappointed 😔

said it was delivered yet when I rang it was still at the shop..said it was on its way and still sat here 30 minutes later..still not here

Ordered food to be delivered at 5:30 with an estimated time of 45 mins. At 7pm the food is not there. Called them and was told “we have been busy” “we are short on drivers” poor service and will not be using again!

The fish is always big (we order 'regular' size) and fresh tasting. The chips are generous in size and the order is always hot.

Just had what was meant to be haddock and chips from here. We are here on holiday and saw the good reviews so thought give it a try. In all honesty it was a bit of a disappointment, the best thing about it was the gravy. The fish while cooked fresh didn't taste like haddock and was extremely greasy, chips cold, so much so that our daughters cheese chips she had the cheese didn't even melt on them.. Chips were soggy and mushy peas tasted like they were full of sugar. I always like to leave an honest review so what I will say is that, the fish was cooked fresh, the service was great and the lady who served us was extremely polite. Just a shame our meal wasn't the best it could of been. 2 haddock and chips 1 cheesy chips 1 child Nuggets and chips Pot of peas Pot of gravy £38 So not the best value for money 😕. Found a few bad bits in the chips too.

Great little find, a fantastic Chippy. Friendly staff and clientele. Great food, Haddock & Chips, Cod & Chips, smothered in scraps. Plus 2 Cheese patties, Which were so nice, I wept after consumption.. A brilliant Chippy.

Just had a meal from here, excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, especially’Essex girl and Blue hair girl, you both work really hard. And this is a business that take care plastic and therefore pays tax, unlike ‘cash only’ places.

only place in Ashington that do blackpudding hance only reason I still use this chipshop as im not a lover of the oil they fry in and it's getting to expensive to buy from here now

Disappointing, especially for the cost. Chips were soggy with oil and undercooked, onion rings were huge greasy rings, barely battered. Mushy peas weren't great. Steak pie and mince pies were decent, as was the gravy, but for nearly £30, we weren't impressed, I'm afraid.

Fantastic - Exactly what a great fish and chips business should be and do. Brilliant, completely fresh cooked food presented with care (even a wedge of lemon added for my Haddock) and served with a smile. We need more like this, loved it, service visit and I will be back…. And I drove 40 minutes to get here. Thanks

Probably the best chippy in Northumberland that I’ve been to! I usually get the lunch time specials, normally fish bites and chips and they’re always unreal! Huge portions too! If you haven’t been here yet, you need to!

Food was late, I was credited £3 before it arrived, thank you, but the fish and chips were very dry as if they had been left on heating for a long time. Large fish was a crispy batter and not a lot of fish. And certainly not succulent. Disappointed as usually very nice from this supplier but definitely disappointed with both delivery and quality of product..

The food was excellent as ever, with ample portions too.

When placing the order it stated 35-50 minutes delivery time. This then changed to 60-80 minutes. On top of this it was then 30 minutes late.

Took 2 and a quarter hours to deliver! Not acceptable, if you’re too busy, stops taking orders on the apps.

1st time ordering online for pickup and was expecting a chip butty with a sausage in it but ended up having a bun and chips- but the portion size is decent though expensive. Chips were are bit powdery in texture which I less preferred personally. Ordered a small cod, not exactly the best as some other fish and chips chain serves fresher tasting cod. Maybe we're just spoilt with better offerings. Otherwise, very fast service, responsive, and the foods were piping hot and freshly made to order.
