Have visited on numerous occasions: golf club dinners, Sunday lunches, sixtieth birthday parties, funeral wakes and anniversary gatherings. Dawn and her team always do a superb job. Top tip : you need to be hungry before you go or you’ll never finish your meal !

We are golfers, unfortunately we didn't have our golf clubs with us. Course looks stunning, can't wait to return to play. Friendly and helpful staff. Drinks on the terrace overlooking the 18th just great.

We visited here with best friends to celebrate Golfers Retreat 4th birthday. They are based inside the clubhouse and serve lunches, dinners and light bites. We had a set menu on this occasion which was a Sunday lunch consisting of a choice of roast pork, steak pie or lamb shank. We also had a choice of dessert....rhubarb crumble and custard, choc brownie and peppermint custard, fruit salad and cream or Bakewell tart and custard. Everything was ALL homemade and piping hot and tasted absolutely delicious. As I say we have visited here many times for dinner and also sampled their famous buffets at private parties and everything is fantastic plus the presentation of the food is always second to none. You cannot fault it. I would recommend golfers retreat to anyone looking for lunch or a dinner pitstop. You won't be disappointed! May I also add that the views of the golf course are beautiful as you are sat by windows overlooking certain areas of the course.

We have visited heath house kitchen since it opened up...the family live round the corner from it. We have had birthday meals, christmas meals and themed nights there along with their general menu. Pie night is a regular attendance for us,tue first Wednesday of every month. Hand made pies, full to the top of whatever filling they have each month and they can be pastry or mash topped pies. This week I had chicken and peppercorn pie with hand cooked chips, roasted charred and buttered veg and an unctuous gravy Other pies eaten over many nights inc minted lamb, chicken and Stilton, baked ham anc cheese, steak and ale and the fish pie filled with cod, scallops and king prawns.. delicious is an understatement.
