Tamara was amazing, super attentive with with all our drinks and food, everyone was very friendly food was delicious and drinks were flowing 100% recommend

Great visit to Urban this morning, we had coffees which were nice, the New York deli sandwich, the buffalo blue sandwich, and the soup of the day which was curried cauliflower. All was delicious and service was excellent.

Best breakfast ever! We had the full english and the chorizo hash. Both were absolutely delish, really tasty and well cooked. 10/10 breakfast would definitely come back.

Visited with slightly sore heads. The staff were lovely, cheery and welcoming and provide quick and efficient service. The cafe itself is a fresh and relaxing atmosphere but unfortunately let down by the food 😞 Both my husband and I ordered Eggs Benedict and I got a side of hashbrowns. 3 of the 4 poached eggs were overdone with the 4th being only slightly runny and I found some shell in mine. The bacon was perfectly crisp with a nice smooth hollandaise sauce. I was expecting the hashbrowns to be on the side so that we could share but they were added to my food under the eggs which made them quite hard to separate but maybe that's something I should have specified. The coffee was really nice and tasted good quality.

This was opposite our hotel and eat here as we arrived early in Birmingham. Service was good, avocado on toast was really good, fresh and had a kick. Nice strong coffee. Eggs Benedict was good but tight on the sauce. All good and would go back. Poached eggs were a touch overdone but hey. It was tasty so that’s all that matters .

Probably the best bottomless brunch I’ve had in Birmingham. Spot on service, food was absolutely delicious and drinks selection was much better than you can often get elsewhere. Espresso martinis were amazing!

Sausage and bacon brioche bap was exceptional! Fresh. Large. Reasonably priced. I was genuinely surprised by how much sausage it had. Lots of drink/cake selections. Service was okay but the team seemed overwhelmed with the customers which were not any more than I’d reasonably expect on a Sat lunchtime in a city centre venue. Was told we’d have a wait of 50 mins but only ended up waiting about 10 which was a nice surprise.

I used to eat and drink in here a lot in the early years (first customer to fill a hundred loyalty cards), then moved away and became an occasional customer on returning to Birmingham. I've visited here three times in the last two months, and it's been disappointing, and so different (in not good ways) each time. Tables take a long time to be cleared, even when it's quiet; food portions are small for the price; the music is offputtingly-loud, especially when trying to hold a conversation. However, my latte on the last two visits is why I'm probably going to give Urban a miss from now on. On both occasions there were several staff but hardly any customers. I ordered, my latte took an age to appear (but I could hear the staff chatting away), and when it did appear it was barely warm. I'm presuming someone made it, then the staff had a chat, then someone remembered that a customer was waiting for it. Anyway, I'm out. I can appreciate that it's much more difficult to hire and retain good customer service in recent times, but other places in Birmingham manage it. Alas, not Urban; a shame.

Had a good experience here previously, this week was not so good. Vegetarian breakfast was cold, hard eggs and a very small amount of halloumi. Urban breakfast was better, no flavouring in the beans as described. Service was very slow and tables were filthy, went my entire meal with the previous customers food on my table, despite members of staff coming over twice. Felt very overpriced for the food and service we received One to avoid unfortunately

Paid £17 for poached eggs and avocado with halloumi and a mushroom. Eggs were hard and the single mushroom very undercooked. A nice place but overpriced in view of the poor food. Sorry guys you can do much better than this.

Came here as it had good reviews and fancied a change of scenery. We had the urban brekkie and at just under £12 each we were disappointed by it. Our breakfasts weren't very hot, the poached eggs were nice but the micro herbs a bit unnecessary, the beans had too much cajun seasoning and were over spiced for a breakfast, the sausage was colder as you got closer to the centre of the ring, Roasted tomatoes weren't roasted just a tomato cut in half (if they had been heated they had lost their heat by the time it got to us), the mushroom had a nice flavour but had no seasoning and were a bit dry, the black pudding was inedible as if it had barely been cooked. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but still temp checking would probably be a good idea and a bit of seasoning goes a long way, I could be just picky

A spontaneous trip to the Jewellery Quarter meant a chance to visit a new café for breakfast - Urban Café did not disappoint. We had an exemplary breakfast and coffee! Topped off with great service and a lovely relaxed and authentic setting.

My wife and I visited here first thing after she arrived back in UK. What an excellent start to her holiday. Nothing disappointing about our experience. Vegan and vegetarian breakfast were cooked to perfection. Very filling. Staff friendly and music spot on. Clean and query Good value for location. Will be back. Thank you

Had breakfast with my girlfriend here today. Was very disappointed in the basic customer service today. Staff seemed totally unprepared for customers and look totally lost. I don’t know if there were no management on today but it looked as though all the staff were on there first day. No milk bought over with coffees, no cutlery given when meals bought out so had to flag a member of staff for those. Nobody clearing any plates for next course. Just sloppy and pretty half soaked! With some training this could be solved. Having said this, the food was lovely and we enjoyed what we ordered. The staff just need to shape up.

Delicious breakfast. We had urban breakfast, vegan breakfast a chai latte and a standard latte and enjoyed every element. Poached eggs are a particular star of the show.
