We come all of the time, the food is perfect every time we come, the staff and service are always great and the price is very reasonable. Best value for money place on the quayside.

My wife and I are here on Wednesday night , we were lucky to get a table as it was Packed which is always a good sign. The food was Really Good , the House Red wine was Amazing and the service was Great. It's been a few years since we last ate here as we've moved away from the area but it's Definitely well worth a visit if you're in the Quayside 👍🏻

Great food, friendly service, but the place was a bit dirty (there was food under our table and we all stepped in it) and very loud (we couldn't have a conversation)...

Never misses. Top spot to go for Italian food in town, I’d say best value for quality there is. Table settings can but a bit small but the food quality & taste vastly make for it. The waiting staff are always absolutely lush too, couldn’t be more helpful. If you’re on quayside it’s a 10/10 recommend.

Excellent place we enjoyed it so much we returned the next night husband said it was one of the best pastas he had eaten the service is quick the food is hot the staff are friendly however a service charge is added into the bill we usually like to pay separate so we knwk the staff actually get it

Excellent Italian. Best for miles around.. back again in 2024 and it's still just as good . Highly recommend.

Mrs D thought the soup of the day was amazing. Unfortunately the Sunday lunches just weren't up to scratch. One soggy roast potato each and not much veg - other than stacks of peas. Mash was sloppy. Perhaps a gravy boat may be better if the food is going to be so runny? Still, it was edible, the meat was nice. Staff were friendly and service good.

So, where to begin, I have been coming to this wonderful place weekly for the past 7 Months (business), I have to say that if you’re looking for a warm and welcoming atmosphere with professional and friendly staff then you must try Unos, the menu is varied and consistently of a high calibre but not excessive in price, whilst there are many varied restaurants on the quays to try I would strongly recommend a visit here.

Amazing. This was my first visit to the restaurant it was conveniently located on the quayside (where my family member was staying) Lots of choice on the menu & especially gluten free - the friendly waiter was clued up & mentioned an ingredient in a dish that was GF Our glasses were never empty they were topped up for us 🍾😁 I will deffo be back & bring other family aswell.

Love this place, my family's go to spot for dinner, very nice, potato skins are lush, would advise doing here. Pizzas always nice and reasonably priced.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful restaurant - food absolutely cooped to perfection and perfect timing. My only fault was that they weren't willing to alternate pizza toppings for another but that's okay because I just got an alternative pizza and absolutely adored it. Syaff are more than friendly and accommodating, the place is very clean itself, all food cooked to perfection, amazing menu and reasonably priced . Cannot wait to return already couldn't, recommend this restaurant enough!

Great little trattoria. Very busy, good atmosphere. Excellent service and fantastic food. One of our table has a serious food allergy and they were very attentive, making sure to explain what he could have from the menu and checking again when serving food.

Excellent Italian!! Food and service are fantastic. Large portions too, make sure you are hungry! Penne Al Forno is my favourite pasta and the Meat feast Pizza. Highly recommended.

We visit Uno’s regularly as it’s our favourite Italian restaurant in Newcastle. The atmosphere is vibrant and the service is prompt. We love the cocktails and pizzas. This is a good value restaurant and it’s worth booking as it gets very busy, particularly Friday and Saturday.

Amazing service, all the staff were very friendly. Almost every table was full throughout the night and yet food was always so quick. Potato skins were good, some more fluffy than others. Pizza and carbonara were great

Went for lunch with my husband the service was excellent and the food even better we had lasagna and the calzone absolutely delicious if I lived local I would visit every week One off the best Italian meals we have had well done

Slow service from start to finish while sitting under a red light on a very low seat...please sort that corner out (terrible) We ordered 2x pizza 2x chips. Took 10mins waiting on chips after pizza had come. Chips were too hot to eat...they were cooked in old oil and burnt. Didn't taste nice at all! Half side of one pizza was burnt. The food has massively dropped last time I visited 😔

First time visit. Late afternoon, so initially quiet, but soon started filling up. Excellent food and service, atmosphere was building for the evening as I left. Will definitely return, and recommend to friends.

Fantastic menu, with enough to choose from that everyone's happy, and brilliant specials on the board, lovely serving staff including Sophie who I've seen a couple of times. went in alone as I was in newcastle for a trip, had the most lovely lunch with great tasting authentic Italian cuisine. I personally work in a Italian restaurant and can commend a good tasting dish :) very nice

Literally the worst Spaghetti Bolognese I've ever had anywhere in the world. The sauce was lackluster, bitter, no meaty flavour, sour tomatoes, the meat had disintegrated into a flavourless paste. There was only pork in it, I couldn't identify any beef at all. Just terrible. Everything else was fine. The pasta was cooked well, the sauce was simply offensive for the price.

Fab food and service... in fact this place could quote possibly be the soul reason for our next visit to Newcastle:D

Love this place ,the staff and the food but won't be returning as they now charge a 10% service charge.Sod that, I decide if pay a service charge.Don't tell me the staff need tips to make up their wage,pay them properly and if necessary charge a little more for food. This isn't the United States!!!

Recently visited again and wasn’t disappointed. Great food, decent price and good service from a young bunch of staff! My only constructive criticism is the wifi and lack of signal due to restaurant below ground location. Didn’t spoil my experience and will defo return and recommend to others.

My Pops, and I returned to Uno’s not only for the INCREDIBLE menu, and food, but for a really poignant, and special occasion. I spoke with the team when I called to book a table, and explained what an important milestone this meal represented. The team SURPASSED anything I could have wished for. I need to say another thank you to you all for such a beautiful celebration. The food, as always was incredible, and your hospitality is second to none. I can’t wait to see you all soon xxx

Very friendly staff, we had reserved a table and were shown quickly to our table. Food was lovely, I had an inferno pizza and a bruschetta for starters, both lovely and cooked well.

Uno's is a classic 'Tyneside Italian' but not necessarily in a good way. The food is, well it's fine, not excellent, not terrible, but you'd be disappointed if you were expecting something of the standard of a typical trattoria in Italy. The lack of vegetarian options on the menu was also disappointing given a) how large the menu is and b) how many good vegetarian Italian dishes exist or can be adapted to be vegetarian (there is parmo on the menu so any claim to be purist with Italian ingredients can go out of the window). The setting is quite nice and cosy although even though we were there for lunch on a Thursday in December, staff were busy moving chairs and olive trees around the place, which seemed odd (why wouldn't you do that before you open?). Again, service was fine, not terrible, not amazing. In hindsight the length of the menu at Uno's should have been a bit of a red flag and we should have just stuck to Pani's, which has reliably been serving up good, simple Italian food for years.

Nice place. Tried with the traditional Italian look. Food was ok. Nothing special. All seemed a bit rushed for me but that might be to others taste.

We wanted somewhere for a Saturday night meal during a short break to Newcastle. We searched for somewhere near to our hotel and found Uno's. We booked a table (glad we did as it was busy when we arrived). The staff were very friendly, helpful, fast and knowledgeable. The menu had a great selection and it took time to choose as there was so much that we would have liked. The food was really nice and the portions were very generous. It was busy throughout our visit and it has a great atmosphere. When we had finished (three courses and coffee) we asked for the bill and were surprised how reasonably priced tyre meal was, including a very well deserved 10% gratuity. We will visit Uno's again!

Must have been 15-20 years since I’ve been in so it brought back a lot of memories. Loved it! Spicy Calzone was delicious!

Visited on a Tuesday evening with a booking. Restaurant very busy with quite a few large groups. Was very noisy due to some very loud parties shouting and screaming - nothing was said to ask them to keep the noise down a bit. Couldn't hear people talk on my own table. Food arrived quickly and was delicious as usual. Have visited her numerous times but not a great experience this time.

I’ve been going to UNO’s for over 30 years regularly and have yet to experience a disappointing meal. As I require gluten-free food I always go for their pizza which is the finest gluten-free pizza in the north-east, so I can’t personally comment on the rest of their menu, but everyone I’ve been with has thoroughly enjoyed their meals. It’s also very good value for money, very reasonably priced. I read some reviews meaning about the tables being close to one another, that’s true, but if you want cheap, good food it’s only fair they pack people in and it’s a measure of how good the place is that they can fill them.

Ridiculously good. Food is exceptional, brilliant young staff are a joy, classic Italian front of house boss has his eyes everywhere keeping the restaurant humming like a top…and it is incredible value. You’ll have some of the best food ever for less than it would have cost you to go to a high street chain. An absolute joy.

Op zoek naar een restaurant in de buurt van mijn hotel kwam ik langs Uno's. Ik werd erg vriendelijk ontvangen en het personeel is ontzettend aardig en gastvrij. Ik heb genoten van de heerlijke pasta en als nagerecht koos ik voor de tiramisu. De eigenaar was erg grappig. Erg lekker gegeten voor een fijne prijs. Grote aanrader.

Ate here recently on a visit to Newcastle, as always the service and food was amazing even in this busy restaurant. It was the first time my wife and myself have ever been asked about allergies great work ! we will be back .

Great food as always got to say during our visit yesterday one member of staff stood out above all others our waitress NIAMH she could not have been more helpful what a fantastic ambassador for the restraint.

We came to Uno's Trattoria on the strength of Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. We were glad that we made a reservation as the restaurant is extremely popular and as soon as diners left their tables were very quickly occupied again. Situated in what seemed to be a cellar there are no frills about the decor, but this gave it a distinctly Italian feel. The service is exceptional and all staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The food is very good too. My wife and I shared a bruschetta and it was full of flavour. My Gamberetti pizza was very nicely cooked with a tasty dough and lots of fresh ingredients which combined well together. It was very enjoyable and my wife came to the same conclusion with her pasta of the same name. Portions are big and prices very reasonable. We will certainly return.

Superb as always… we eat he regularly but the food tonight was just too good not to mention my favourite dish is the Crostini Unos a bruschetta rolled in palma ham with mozzarella tomatoes olives and onions … delicious. Followed my Gamberoni Pomedodoro With tagliatelle.. my husband had lasagne and my little boy spaghetti bolognaise, the staff were so lovely as usual. You can’t find a better Italian restaurant in Newcastle than Unos.

We've been going to Uno's for years and we've never had a bad experience. The food is always lovely.

Fantastic authentic Italian, just set back from the Quayside. Very welcoming, friendly service. Great pizzas, pasta, risotto. Very fresh ingredients, the ham in the risotto was off the bone, not fatty at all. But the best thing you must try is the blackpudding and haggis bon bons on the specials menu. They are Michelin star standard, so good we ordered a second set! We will definitely return but order everything of the specials board. Thank you for a lovely evening, family of 9.

Yet again I’m writing a review For Pizza UNO on the Quayside in Newcastle, Lovely lunch, food was delicious, we had a 2 course lunch of bruschetta, Potato skins, Lasagne & Pizza Stagioni, all cooked to perfection, the waiter was as usual courteous, & friendly, don’t know his name but he’s been serving us for many years, tip top food tip top service.

Food first class service also first class 👌

I haven't been to Unos for a long time! I don't know why as the food was lovely. We had the lunch time special and it was great. Really good value for the price. Will be returning again much sooner!

Had a fantastic meal. The crab pasta dish was full of flavours as was the salmon and king prawn special. Starters of black pudding and haggis bon bons may not be what you consider to be traditional Italian but were exceptonal. Arancini tasty too. Tiramisu and chocolate fudge cake finished off the meal perfectly. Staff very attentive - just give a little wave if you want to be served!!! Would definitely visit again when in Newcastle 😃

Great Italian restaurant in Newcastle. I normally come here when I am working in town. Food is great, service is fantastic, and the prices are pretty reasonable too.

Edit to last year's review! The service tonight was fantastic! All of the staff especially Katy were amazing! My husband had the parmigiana again as it is amazing & I had the veggie lasagna this time. I can't stress enough how fantastic this restaurant is! Service & food were good! The parmigiana was huge & pizza delicious. I was especially impressed with the Sangria, it had strawberries in, something I've never had before but I loved it. I'd definitely recommend a visit. Prices were good for city centre too.

Nice friendly cosy Italian restaurant with welcoming staff who have a good knowledge about the menu. The food was good, and they were able to cater for a group of 12.Staff members, making sure no one had any allergies.Our orders came out at the same time no one had to wait. Food was piping hot 🔥 drinks ate not bad too,just need a little bit more alcohol. If you are able to get to the restaurant before 7 pm, they have some great deals. It was a good evening. Will be back in the near future.

Been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. I broke with the Italian tradition and had the sea bass, it was superb. Great service, great surroundings, can’t fault it.

Sat outside on a rare sunny day in Newcastle and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Pizza definitely worth a mention very light crispy dough but with a good crust. Toppings are generous too. Sticky toffee pudding is one of the highlights here for dessert

An amazing find. Looking for a restaurant near quay side came across this restaurant we were not booked however they fitted us in . Very busy for a Thursday. Staff were great service was impeccable. We sat outside in the sunshine and had the two course lunch for £11.95. Potato skins and chicken wings, very tasty and good portions. For mains my husband had a pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed, I had spaghetti arrabiata which was the best I've ever had. We will definitely return for an evening meal.

We visited Unos, after taking part in the great north run. It was very close to our hotel and had good reviews. The welcome was warm and the staff were wonderful. The restaurant is nicely laid out and was clean. The menu is great, with plenty of choice. And requests were also not an issue. I had the lasagne and I must say, it was probably the best I have ever had. The wine was also lovely. The main thing was the staff. Two young girls looked after us. And they were just lovely. Very bright and bubbly. They talked to us about the run and were always there if we needed anything. Food service was well timed and presentation excellent. The restaurant was fairly busy, but they didn’t slow anything down. If we are ever back in Newcastle again; we would definitely dine here. Wonderful
