Unit Six Cafe in Newham

After reading positive reviews we went for a breakfast before going to watch West Ham v Chelsea. I ordered the full English it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, cheap sausage and bacon and the whole thing was cold. Definitely won’t be eating there again

Really not good, don't bother!..... If you read a possitive review on here, then it's false. My husband and I went along for Breakfast, firstly they put two breakfasts on one plate, When they did come back with two plates of food, it was awful.... eggs hard and tasteless, mushrooms cold and bread soggy, I complained which was a waste of time the coffee and tea was okay though.

Popped in for a coffee and couple of pastries before a meeting. Lovely looking venue and lots of delicious looking cakes. Coffee was very nice but the pastries were over priced and the service…well don’t expect a happy greeting. When I tried to say goodbye it was completely ignored. Shame as could be a lovely little place to go.

Looking at the other reviews, there is clearly an ongoing major customer service issue here. Earlier today, my wife saw some very well presented cakes in the window, which was a great start. We have had cakes here before which were delicious, and have dined in their neighbouring Sawmill, so were looking forward to a treat, as well as supporting a local business at this time. She arrived at the counter, and smiled and politely asked the staff member 'Hello - can I have some cake to take away please?' This resulted in a frown, no greeting and a rude response of just two words. 'Which cake?'. With the emphasis on 'which' - ie 'You need to specify, what are you, stupid?' Taken aback, my wife asked, again politely 'Oh is that a problem?' No response. Just a stare. So no cakes for us. Money spent elsewhere. It's puzzling that there is clearly a problem here but the management just don't deal with it. Unless this was the actual manager, in which case they've really got issues!

Great place for a lazy Saturday morning with flatmate Food and drink were both good! Will try something different next time

I don't know Stratford well and after wandering around this looked like a good choice for breakfast. I had an almond croissant with a flat white coffee, both were excellent. As I had a good breakfast I returned for a chicken, parmesan and salad ciabatta which was ok rather than great and was cool even though toasted. Prices are relatively expensive considering the location.

Great value, delicious breakfast with the best cortado I've tasted outside S America. Lovely friendly service.

I wouldn't look for any other place to eat in Stratford, this cafe has a big selection of food, staff were efficient and food and coffee was excellent.

Great coffee and delicious salads. Had lunch with a colleague and trust me the coffee is simply the best! The salads are creative and I love the fact you can mix and match. Thank you so much. Finally I simply do not understand the negative reviews about service. It is efficient, friendly and professional.

We were served by a member of staff that could've been the manager. She was rude and unfriendly for no apparent reason.

Shocking! £4+ for a soya latte. Charged 70p for soya milk in my coffee. I thought we were beyond that in 2022?! The food is reheated prior to serving but it still managed to arrive at our table cold. Very expensive for what it is. Really not up to scratch and will not return. Don’t bother eating here, find somewhere else.

Super little cafe in the middle of Stratford shopping centre. Great food and drinks with a hint of the continent and Eastern Europe combined. Great pastries, open sandwiches, coffee to die forband service with a smile. **PERSONAL NOTE There definitely seems to be a Ukrainian flair here...with the flags and other things...I am well travelled around this region and feel completely at-home here as I ALWAYS do when in Central/Eastern Europe... Lets support them!!! No pics as my camera is not working but the food is delightful!!!

I work locally and get food and coffee here regularly. Always very good quality food and amazing coffee! The staff are also very friendly with great customer service :)

We enjoyed a relaxed rest from working an A Level project. Enjoyed a really fresh strawberry smoothie and other soft drinks. There were pizzas and good looking freshly made sandwiches, the staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely, comfortable place to stop.

Popped in here for Sunday brunch as we preferred to give our custom to a local independent rather than one of the chains in the Westfield Centre. Friendly welcome and good coffee. But the food was really underwhelming. Scrambled eggs were watery and anemic. We had different toasted breads in different dishes, none of which could make up their mind whether they were crisp or soggy. The pastries were disappointing - none of the fresh flakiness that you'd hope for, again more doughy and sogginess, particularly an almond croissant where the base was wet from sugary syrup - and not in a subtle way. Maybe they were just having an off day, but their food wasn't for us.

Have been going to Unit 6 for a while and the service is always excellent. The coffee is always very good and the food is lovely, with a few good vegan options. Even through this pandemic the lovely staff have made everyone who walk through their door feel very welcome. Support this lovely local business if you can!

A very calm and clean cafe in the middle of what is ordinarily a very busy Stratford shopping centre. Coffee is very tasty, service very friendly, and although I haven't tried the food it looks very fresh. Hidden gem.

Lovely coffee in a calm environment, perfect for an hour's work in the afternoon. Service was quick and my table was cleaned down before use. There were plugs available for laptops.

My favorite local caffe for coffee or food for solo or with family, friends and business mettings. Have many choices of different milks, which is always good. A varied day to day and fresh meniu of pastries, cakes, sandwiches, wraps (on the go food). Does English breakfast (canteen style, not made by order) and has curries (vegan options too), soups and salads for lunch. Plenty of choice for different diet requirements. Very good service, usually very quick but might have to wait a bit on weekend and weekday lunch period. Usually quite busy with very varied clientele. Definitely not as many people using cafe as an office. Obviously it differs day to day. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Met up with an Ozzie friend for late breakfast& decided to give this place a try. Was very crowded but just managed to squeeze in between tables. Very mixed clientele with young families, pensioners & the proverbial people on laptops Chose the egg & bacon...

Came in for lunch to see how it was,had thai green curry which was amazing and fresh apple juice which they make there and then. Staff were nice and friendly and service was quick. Would definitely recommend this place and hope it stays.

This place is a gem and needs to be shouted about. Certainly recommended if you want a delicious breakfast, great service, decor and relaxing ambience. Added bonus: free power sockets for anyone to use! We will definitely be returning when next in Stratford.
