To the manager, I am writing to raise a concern regarding a recent interaction I had with a member of your team while visiting your coffeehouse. During our conversation, this staff member made comments about my accent, questioning why I “still” have it despite having lived in the UK for 18 years. He further remarked that he knows someone who has “lost their accent” after living here for a similar length of time, implying I should be compared to them. These comments felt intrusive and disrespectful, as they diminish my individual journey and identity. Accents are a natural part of one’s heritage and personal history, and retaining mine is a reflection of my background, not something that should be “lost” or questioned. I believe this interaction highlights a need for further equality, diversity, and inclusion training, as it’s essential that all customers feel valued and respected. Comments like these can alienate individuals, which is surely not in line with the welcoming environment your establishment seeks to foster. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Lovely place to have a coffee after your MTB/Gravel ride, dog walk or just a bit of exercise. Car park is busy when the kids are off school but invariably you will get a parking space that is ANPR, so pay when you leave. Great service, toilets that are clean and well worth a visit.

Disappointed that not open on Bank Holiday Monday. Lots of people thinking it should be open.

Popped in for some late breakfast and coffee. Served by a lovely young lad, very pleasant. The cafe is always frequented by locals which I love, they are all very chatty and fuss my dog while giving great ideas for days out. It’s clearly very much supported by locals and visitors alike. It’s a small family run independent cafe on the edge of a forest…they make your food to your order. If you are on holiday then relax and enjoy your surroundings, it’s not a two minute drive through, it’s a chill out cafe 👍🏻

We stopped off at the cafe on our way to and from Cornwall. It was perfect for us as a family with young children particularly as there is an amazing park just outside. The staff were very welcoming and the food and drink was lovely. It was quite busy but the staff helped accommodate us plus our bugggy where our baby was sleeping. They had a children’s menu, colouring in and books for the children. We will definitely stop by again when we’re in the area!

Liam, Gillian, Kirsty and Leonii took over the sensitive business of providing our party with comforting food and drink in the private functions room after a funeral service. It was exactly what we all needed at a difficult time. Could fault the service and kindness. Thank you so much.

I found my food tasty (chicken phanaeng curry) but my friends weren't impressed with theirs. The tod man khao pod were extremely oily. The pork phat kaphrao was supposed to be mince in a dark, thin sauce, but this one was chunks (not pork belly) in a light, gloopy sauce. The jug of water we got given for the table was contaminated with hundreds of sesame seeds and other tiny bits of unidentified food! It literally looked like a snow globe. We had to ask to have it refilled. My friend ordered a vegetarian green curry but found a piece of chicken in it. The owner offered to replace it, but my friend declined and assumed it would just be taken off the bill instead. This was never offered, so my friend had to ask for it to be taken off, which the owner eventually agreed to. A different friend went up to the counter to pay, at which point the owner lowered his voice and tried to get my friend to agree to taking £3 off the bill instead of the full price of the green curry. My friend who ordered the curry heard this and got up to tell him to take the whole dish off the bill. The owner said he didn't want to do that since we had taken the rest of the green curry to go in a doggy bag for the non-vegetarians in the group, so we simply gave it back to him to have it taken off the bill (I'm assuming it was just dumped in the bin, so I'm not sure what the point of that was). The atmosphere was very awkward, the dining room was barren and the tables and chairs were very cramped. The bill was presented as simply a list of the prices of each dish/drink, but it didn't say what dish/drink each price correlated to, so we had to figure that out ourselves. Altogether a very poor experience. I gave 2 stars for the taste of my chicken phanaeng curry, but I couldn't go higher than that because of all the other issues. 2/5*
