Very welcoming to us. We dropped in after a long walk with no booking at about 3.00. 5 adults and 7 well behaved dogs. We were directed to the function room, instead of the bar area, which was a very good idea. We ate drank and went home. I had scampi and lovely chips. The service was very good and the whole place was impeccably clean.

Had a very enjoyable meal ,and top marks for cleanliness and will go again.

A newly decorated and recently opened pub, restaurant which a fresh contemporary feel. The staff are friendly enough and the food arrived in 10 minutes. We were the only people eating at the time. The food could have been fresher and felt reheated from the lunch rush. I imagine it could be better if ordered in the middle of lunch, would I go again probably not.

Very good value food and plenty of it, pleasant friendly and helpful staff. Major rebuild of the pub relatively recently which some may blanche at which is a little understandable. Very clean, two real ales, skittle alley retained thankfully. Main area can get noisy as there is little to absorb noise - the floor is exposed wood (fake, I think). Probably been there half a dozen times now, and have no trouble recommending.

Enjoyed a good meal here. Plenty of choice and a good atmosphere.

Okay pub along the to Yeovil. I had the Arrabiata pasta and my companions had jacket potatoes. The food was good, we all finished it. All in all a bit average though.

Visited for the first time today, the place has lovely decor and is very clean. The staff Charlie and Jess were very welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely meal which was average priced, nice presentation. The tables are laid very nicely too. Charlie showed me the outside seating area and it looked lovely, would be nice to come for a evening meal. Will defiently visit again. The restrooms were also very clean with lovely extra finishing touches, nice soaps and handcreams.

Overpriced and underwhelming - looks like a bistro, but is more greasy spoon.

We had promised ourselves a lunch here as we had been past several times, travelling to the coast. We were not disappointed as the layout was lovely, lunchtime menu varied and very reasonable and 3 clean plates! Staff were great and we will definitely go back again as it has a dog friendly area as well.

Fantastic place with fantastic food and staff. My daughter had arranged a surprise birthday meal for me, and the staff at The Sheaf were brilliant. They allowed her to decorate the table and brought me out a birthday cake. The food was excellent, I had the beef espertada, which I would highly recommend! Such a lovely building and beautifully refurbished. Will definitely return.

Hadn't booked a table. Was fully booked but the lady said we could have a table in the bar if that was OK. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good menu and portion size. Would recommend and will be going back.

Only been opened a month after being refurbished. Food excellent. Staff very pleasant. However there was one in particular who kept forgetting that she was serving you and would go off to serve someone else. Why are the toilets are always so cold.

Very modern, not many tables and chairs and sadly not much of an atmosphere or smiles from the staff. Sunday dinner looked delicious though.

This place has just been re opened after being closed all summer. Good Sunday roast for 11.95. Quite busy, staff seemed new and a little flustered. Would give it another go on a weekday. I really do hope they succeed as they have gone to the trouble of adding a skittle alley when every one else around the area is closing theirs. Beer garden lovely too, such a shame they have missed all the passing summer trade of this year.

Refurb looks good, good choice of beer and fizzy cider available, menu looks nice, yet too eat but will try it soon. Glad they have reopened again. Dogs are welcome in the top bar.

Called in today 19th Feb 2018, the place is a tip, a building site and this is less than a year after it was refurbished. Very disappointed.

Brilliant staff. Brilliant beer. Lovely refurb!

Very disappointing! After such a long drawn out refurbishment it’s highly disappointing to find that the place isn’t even finished. Really, they shouldn’t be open. There are freshly boarded stud walls that haven’t even been plastered yet. Missing lighting and architraving in the toilets, various holes in walls that haven’t yet been patched and filled in. There are even cables hanging where emergency lighting is missing. It seems these were comments made in July when they first opened so its disappointing to see that these still haven’t been sorted by November. Coming on to the food I’m afraid to say that the theme continues. We went on a Saturday evening, we arrived at 6pm. We were told that 5 or 6 dishes on the menu we’re not available and various items in some dishes had substitutes. Our food was very average. The triple cooked chips were terrible, the king prawn linguine had no king prawns in sight, the batter on the cod was about an inch thick and we had various other items substituted without us being advised before ordering. At no point during our starters or our main course did anyone come over and ask if our food was ok, we were not asked if we wanted anymore drinks during our meals, and our plates were still in our table as we left after we had paid. A lot more work needed before this place deserves anything other than 1 star, we however won’t be returning.

Just left the inn after a very enjoyable lunch. We got there about 1 o'clock and found it fairly busy but enough tables to cater for other people who came in after us. We had to wait a little while for our meals...but it was worth it. I had the lasagna with chips which was one of the more reasonably priced meals on the menu. Very tasty and too large for me to finish. The young lady who served us was very pleasant. The place is very clean and caters for all tastes...although I didn't see a menu which gave you the option of sandwiches if that is all you wanted (had open sandwiches though). Would definitely go again😊
