Excellent, wholesome, absolutely authentic Greek Cypriot cuisine! Tony and his wife are wonderful hosts too and run a very clean and busy ship. Highly recommended if you like Cyprus food! The sheftalia, gyro, souvlaki is superb (amongst many more delicious hunger-staving dishes like kleftiko, moussaka etc etc), and by far the best I've had so far in London. On the pricier side.

Walked into the restaurant, it was empty. Went to sit at a table in the middle of the restaurant and was told I couldn't sit there. I was made to sit by the door where the delivery drivers come in. Two Greek gentlemen came into the restaurant after i was served, and they sat where I was going to sit when I first walked in. Very expensive for average food and underwhelming experience. Won't be back.

I’m going to rate Uncle Tony just under stars and here’s the main reason. Food quality and cleanliness ands lovely friendly staff. It’s a family run business and they take enormous pride in giving their customers the best. These guys don’t substitute cheaper quality for making more profit either. I spoke to the owner and they run the place like a five star restaurant. Not all customers will appreciate this. The place is busy and even has live music on specific days so ask. The atmosphere is like being in Greece with the blue and white like a scene from Santorini and they also have a back garden so you can sit outside. Not a lot of customers will know this so ask and this comes at a premium to cost for owner and customers. The owner is a really nice guy as well. Super friendly and he runs the place with his wife they run it like a well oiled machine. The only minor thing is their take away service could be improved. It’s not uncommon for me to walk in and not be served There should always be someone at the door to greet customers immediately and ask to take their order. Never leave customers waiting and you should at least say something like we will take your order soon to put the customers mind at ease they will be served but this does not happen either. I have literally walked out a few times. The other thing is the outside garden is often full of chain smokers although I realise there is nothing the owners can do about this. If it was me though I’d have it a no smoking zone so all customers can occasionally eat outside as well. I don’t think smokers that can’t stop from lighting up should make the rest of us suffer because of their addiction. Having nice food with smoke in the air ruins everything. Not too bad overall as a place to eat. I feel it expensive compared to other places but that’s really down to opinion.

Tony has always been very hospitable and friendly, a good atmosphere. His recipes and quality of food are delicious. He is brilliant with customers, a down to earth great bloke. The food we ate was flavoursome and tasted proper home made. Uncle Tony's is one of my favourite Greek restaurants that has a great atmosphere, staff are friendly and the food surpasses expectations.

A great Greek/Cypriot restaurant in Finchley. Fantastic vibes, great staff and the garden in the back gives a perfect atmosphere. We had a great evening. The kleftico was a bit dry but the meze was massive and really tasty. The The halloumi, the pork belly, the sheftalies and the souvlaki were the stars of the evening. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Be warned. Rude staff, unfiendly and insulting. I asked where it was the toilet and the man who looked like the cook/manager said to me to make sure to lift the ring and not to leave any drop. He spoke like a mobster, menacing and intimidating. Couldn't believe my ears what I heard.

I recently dined at Uncle Toni's Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The menu at Uncle Toni's Grill is diverse, focusing on grilled specialties. I started with the grilled tuna steak, which were perfectly seasoned and succulent. For the main course, I chose the wilde see bass cooked to my exact preference. The service at Uncle Toni's was top-notch. Uncle Toni's Grill Restaurant is a must-visit for grill enthusiasts. The expertly prepared dishes, excellent service, and pleasant atmosphere make it a standout choice. I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu.

Ordered a lovely takeaway for the family. The staff were all very friendly and fun to speak with. The food was delicious and too much for us to finish. Perhaps could do with a few more sauces to go with the dishes we ordered to give it that extra edge. Well worth a visit.

To expensive website says a different price to the actual restaurant absolute rip off. Ordered a meze and other tables had other items on theirs which we didn’t receive on ours. Don’t check the website prices they are wrong!

I had the opportunity to visit Uncle Tony's Taverna on Saturday dinner with a group of friends . By the first moment i walked in the staff was very welcoming and kind. They suggested their special menu and explained it to us. We had the opportunity to enjoy mese. It was fantastic. Their food is the best i ever had in London. The atmosphere was great. We enjoyed the live music, singing and dancing. Uncle Tony came to the table himself to take care of everything.He told us about the restaurant and food. I will definitely come back again for the hospitality, the cleanliness and the wonderful,fresh food. I definitely recommend it.

Have ordered take out from this place a number of times food always good. Recently went in to collect, it was heaving busy inside maybe a party or something. Eye contact from staff behind the counter, then looked away, trying so desperately to get eye contact and least a greeting 'hello' or something but NO! So I kept staring at the staff hoping praying someone would at least acknowledge my presence as a human and not AI ! So anyway, after about 5 mins or so I spoke and said I'm collecting my order which they were still getting ready didn't mind as it would be piping hot so good, good. They warned me it would be sometime as it is busy I said that's fine on whilst I made the order by telephone. The staff were busy - one woman who was in charge of preparing was always asking the others about the prep like she wasn't sure, must've been new. So then received my order I told them but without the tzatzikimmmmmmmm! This condiment was meant to be part of the order which I order for £11 X2 ! Wasn't there, nope nada so I made it myself at home. Like the previous customer pointed out, the manager must improve on customer service first and foremost how who greet inc customers as they walk in. You ignore, it's a right put off and thats where people will just turn away. If you want to have a reputable business it's starts with customer service , retention and staff must be trained on how this is done. Let's hope when I walk in it improves, I could be a good critique for a major publication and you don't want bad reviews do you? Take note

The only Greek taverna that’ll I’ll go to in order to eat actually quality Cypriot food in North London. A bit pricey, but they don’t compromise on the quality, so worth it.

Awesome food, love from the Savva’s! Tony and his team walked us through the specials menu, and not only were we better advised on their food origin and method of cooking, it was the scrumptious taste which is why we will be booking our next visit closer to Easter, soon! Uncle Tony's Greek restaurant is in the heart of Finchley and walking distance from the tube station. The food is like home made, freshly served, but the service could have been better and the atmosphere is like traditional Greek village style, with Greek music, possibly from London Greek Radio, spacious space but basic decor, tables and chairs, however overall it's certainly recommended.

Met Tony himself on a quiet evening, and had an amazing experience. His passion for what he does is obvious in every dish he served us, and we ate so much we had to be rolled out. He gave us many recommendations and stories about his restaurant, and came away just as impressed with him as his food. Travel across London to come here.

I have been coming a lot during the last 4 years unfortunately since 2021 they've started replacing their products with cheaper quality, making their portions smaller and not caring about the service the provide especially when you dine in. I am giving an over all one star for many reasons but the cherry on top was when they tricked us and brought stuff we didn't order and over charged us £120+. Definitely not going back!

I don't know the area and just happened to park outside. I was hungry and wanted something quick. I got the chicken gyros. Oh my god!!! Amazing! I think that I would make the trip again just for the chips! The staff were lovely and friendly. Food was tasty and fresh.

The food here was so tasty, fresh and truly scrumptious, they don't even have.a freezer. Everything is fresh everyday. Can't wait to go back. Dietary restrictions: As a celiac who is histamine intolerant and can't eat gluten and dairy, the knowledge of Tony and his staff about which foods were safe for me was second to none. I had an amazing nights sleep and no digestive issues. Can't wait to go again.

10/10 experience at Uncle Tony’s! Jack was an absolutely amazing host and was extremely friendly, made conversation with us and checked on us throughout our meal. Other staff are equally as friendly and even met Uncle Tony himself! The food was amazing it felt very authentic! I got so full so it’s definitely worth it! I can say this is an amazing place with an amazing environment and amazing people working there!

Had dinner here last night. Great atmosphere, food very good too! Had wonderful Halibut and chicken kebabs. We also ordered calamari starter but never arrived. Also ordered no chips but both had them! Also, 2 large glasses of wine, both small! 3rd glass was large!! All terribly disorganised sadly. Sat there for ages before we received any olives and pita bread. Order wasn’t written down, so that’s why there were so many mistakes, a shame really, cos apart from earning more money from us, we would have enjoyed a starter. So please write down orders, just a bit more attention would do the trick. Lovely lady Chef who asked if the food was ok it was!!

Disgraceful service and an overall unpleasant experience. I’d give zero stars if it were possible. Firstly, when we arrived we were taken to the back area. This place is devoid of any atmosphere and sadly when we were there, it also seemingly doubled as a crèche. It took 25 minutes for our order to be taken. 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We had to ask multiple times for drinks / menus etc. it was as if we vanished and they couldn’t see us. We asked for water for the table. This took AN HOUR to arrive. When it did, we had 3 guests but only 1 glass. I asked for 2 more and these took another 10 minutes to appear. When the guy came with the glasses, he stood there without a word and held out the glasses with his fingers INSIDE the glass. He made me put my food down and actually take them from him without saying a word. We felt like we spent more time drowning out kids and chasing waiters to an we did enjoying our time. Everything at this restaurant was severely lacking. The food was alright. Small portion for the price. Unfortunately, dining out isn’t just about the food and everything else was terrible. Go somewhere else.

Greek restaurant in Finchley, London. It is just in front of the tube station and easy to get in. Plenty of space inside and if you walk through it is a terrace with so many tables for clients in a chill out atmosphere. We had live music during our stay. Good service, good portions of the main dishes and a bit small starters. Everything was amazing, home made, very tasty and full of flavour. As we were a big group we had the chance to taste lots of different dishes and we weren't disappointed. It is a very recommendable greek restaurant. They also have take away options and I could see how busy they were.

Excellent Greek food, the pork souvla is a must - melt in the the mouth pork on the bone with cinnamon bulgur wheat. Service is very friendly and Tony is a legend. Chaotic at times but all part of the vibe.

Terrible went there with a group of 10 as a last resort for my sons birthday due to others closed but was told by others it was ok. What a mistake !!First Meze I’ve ever had that only comes with meat. No sides salads chips and usual bits. etc ordered 3 chicken souvla for the girls and 6 fish meze as we were told came with dips and a few sides but still no salads or chips ,the fish consisted of a couple of plates of prawns and calamari The chicken souvla was 9 pieces ( 7 legs and 2 thighs). Yes 7 legs. And no one likes legs!!!Apart from that they definitely warnt cooked on barbecue. Almost looked and tasted like roast and I know what chicken souvla taste like and was also red in the middle. We hardly had any alcohol just water and a small zivania. The place is a rip off in my opinion and looks like they are out to make money and rip people off. The owner was even stood up cleaning the barbecue area whilst we were still there. Cost over £40 a head and the girls hardly had anything to eat or drink You could have had a fantastic meal for that amount elsewhere and it doesn’t compare 1 bit.for a restaurant in a side street it is totally overpriced and I’m convinced the menu is done deliberately to deceive people making the meze seem cheap but you have to get all the extras to make up a proper meze and the cost mounts up. To top everything went to pay the bill which was over £400 with £36 service charge added I was told to my amazement that the card machine was not working and can only take cash. Oh dear! How emabarassing it was for me as I never carry that sort of cash They couldn’t tell me that when I rang to book or even when we got there Now feeling embarrassed I had to wonder the streets at night to find a cash machine I wish now I took the £36 service charge iff but was in such shock that I didn’t think. Never again and believe me I’ve been to more Greek places then you can think off many times. Avoid at all cost Rip off end off!!!!! Don’t normally do reviews but this place deserved one

Had a take out from here the Lamb was awful more fat than meat the chips were nice the chilli sauce was from a bottle and had a terrible taste

5 things on the menu weren’t available on a Saturday when I visited 2 weeks ago and second visit again tonight, several dishes weren’t available. Also for the second time more than £20 of dishes were on the bill that were not received. Make sure to check your bills! Shame as the lady chef is good but management are unprofessional and sadly aren’t capable of running a restaurant on a quiet night never mind on a busy one. Won’t be returning.

Decided on a whim to treat myself to Greek food rather than walk past Uncle Tony's Taverna as I often do on the evening commute. I asked for the seabass and had the pleasure of receiving Tony's knowledge on seabass and the difference between wild and farmed seabass. He lovingly presented the whole fish to me, grilled it and his lovely wife prepared it for me, pulling apart the tender white meat and dressing it generously with lemon juice, parsley, olive oil, and salt while talking me through the process. They were busy as always but it was a delight to see the love and pride with which they prepare their food. This was served with Greek salad and warm pitta bread. I went home and enjoyed what was the most delicious, most succulent seabass I have eaten in my life. I don't visit enough and I will certainly return soon. Thank you for this enchanting experience!

A truly wonderful meze! One of the best I've had anywhere, including in Cyprus and Greece. We had booked, at short notice, for 27 friends and family, to celebrate the life of my father. From the moment we arrived Tony and his staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, ensuring the event went off without a hitch. I have no hesitation in recommending Uncle Tony's to anyone looking for authentic Greek food, beautifully cooked, in a genuine, family-run restaurant.

Don't mistake this place for any ordinary Greek restaurant or takeaway, because it's definitely not that... it is EXTRAORDINARY. The food is easily the best Greek food I've eaten outside of Cyprus or Greece, and as good as anything I've eaten there. This is really tasty, top notch cooking by a chef who knows what he's doing. I was there in a large party of 27 people for a very important family occasion (a memorial dinner or our beloved dad), and we wanted the afternoon to be perfect for our guests. We ordered the meze, and all I can say is, every single dish was outstandingly good. Perfect subtle blends of flavours, and textures, all cooked to perfection. All the meat was succulent and obviously really fresh. Besides the superb food, they also did everything to ensure our event went without a hitch, and could not have been more helpful. On what was obviously an emotional occasion for all our guests, it was great how friendly and personable the service was. Oh and the extra waiter they laid on at the last minute worked his socks off !

Came here for dinner one night with a friend and was ripped off. Two people, two meze and a drink each came (Coke Zero) to £120!!! For a restraunt on a back road in Finchley is a joke frankly. Food was good but there are plenty of better and cheaper places around to go got a meze and not get ripped off. Won’t be going back and will be letting people know that they are rip off merchants. Don’t bother.

Where else in north London can you get charcoal barbecued fresh mackarel and skinned boneless sardines that taste as good as this looks? And the staff are well... amazing too!👩‍🍳🐟🦀🦐🐙🦑🍗☕🍽️ 💯
