Alexanders Greek Restaurant in Barnet

This is my go to restaurant for dining with family, friends, on birthdays, anniversaries, or even dining on my own. There is a welcoming atmosphere and the food is fresh, well cooked and presented, with generous portions. All of the staff are courteous and friendly. The value for money makes me a returning customer. Alexanders never fails to please.

A great little find, recommended to us by a friend. Three of us had three courses and wine for less than £90 including service, which is amazing value for money. My wife was not keen on the meze, but apart from that we really enjoyed the food.

We tried this as our new local greek venue. As someone who eats traditional Greek food regularly, this really wasn't great. The venue is very outdated and unfortunately not very busy. We ordered the meze to try staple dishes, very surprised to have such cheap starters like crab sticks and prawn cocktail which is not traditional at all. The hot fish starters were frozen panko prawns, calamari and fried small fish which were not fresh or home made. The meat was a great and portion size, desserts were mostly bought in and not home made. Overall it was okay, I wouldn't call it a staple greek restaurant.

Cheap - definitely. Decent portion sizes. But nothing Greek about it. Basmati rice, "homemade taramousalata" the cheap bright pink industrial stuff, unseasoned salads with uncut chunks of feta from the bottom of a tin. Waiters are nice enough,. though pointing at customers is rude and they couldn't remember who'd ordered what at a single course. The mains were mediocre, though the kebab was very good. Lot of food for your money particularly with the set menu but not a special occasion place and not particularly Greek

This place always has my family and I coming back year after year. We love the food and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend the Stifado it's amazing.

Menu unchanged in years but a fair selection. Despite living round the corner, we took a break for some years because of slow service but realise that Saturday nights can be very busy!! Returned, returned and returned! Fairly comprehensive menu and food always cooked well, very reasonably priced and good service

I haven’t been here for over 10yrs, despite living round the corner from it as I got food poisoning last time. I thought I’d try it again & my 14yr old son was sick ALL night!!

My mother is a regular there and a group of 6 of us went tbere last night .we had the set menu very reasonable price but good portions of hot fresh food served .And finished with a nice fruit platter .Very recommended

Needs a lick of paint but there is no disputing the quality of the food, or the value for money. Don't be put off by the look of the place on Google maps. It's not an expensive place but it is great value, great food with good service. We will be going back 100%. Sea bass was great

The staff was really friendly and welcomed us really nicely even without a reservation. The food... I don't know where to beggin! Everything was so tasty. We ordered one of the menus where we could eat diferent dishes. And everything was great. It was our first time eating greque food and we were so so pleased! We recommend 100%!

Excellent food happy staff nothings a problem and good value and caring

At first you might think it's just a cafe! But the tables are laid really nicely and the staff are friendly. The fiid was excellent and very reasonably priced. All in all, an excellent find. Will definitely go again!

The best chicken kebab I have ever tasted, also the paintings are very nice. We had the Sunday set menu, which was very reasonable priced, with good size portions.

Portions were too small. Tried to offer dessert even though fruit salad was included in the deal. Gave out the bear minimum. Will need to do better in my opinion. Had to ask waiters for service each time.

Four of us had an excellent Christmas Day Turkey lunch with all the trimmings. The portions were very generous and it was extremely reasonably priced.

We booked a table and went here for the 1st time last Saturday. We go to many restaurants and this one is top of our list now, I was so impressed. A really intimate, relaxed dining experience (rarely found nowadays), not too big and very busy. We ordered the Meze and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked. We asked to change a couple of dishes and this was no problem. Staff were so welcoming, friendly and couldn’t do enough. Highly recommend you try here. You will not be disappointed but on a Saturday make a reservation,

Nothing special...we were recommended to the restaurant but not what we expected felt more like an Indian restaurant playing greek music. The food was average & the prices very good but wouldn't go back glad we tried it though.

I think that three stars some the place up. Welcoming, friendly attentive staff. I had the mixed kebab and while the chicken was succulent and tender the lamb was tough and overcooked! I will probably go again but I won't be rushing back!

Excellent food at a fantastic price's. The Sirloin steak you can almost cut with your fork. I do like the atmosphere that you get in Greek restaurants, this is why I keep going back. Brilliant!

My Partner and I have been to Alexanders many times. We have tried nearlly everything on the menu. It has allways been good food and good value for money.. The owner and staff are friendly and efficient. We have made many friends amongst the clientele.

My wife and myself decided to visit alexanders for dinner thursday eve,after wanting to try it for a while .i booked a table for 7.30 ..got a nice greeting by the indian waiting staff. ! Were given their menus ,very greek .pop music was playing .nothing about the whole place said greek .we ordered our meal ,a meze .which started ok nice dishes and bread.just one strange one crabsticks???.next hot starters .sausage ham and halloumi .all tough and tasted cheap ..next fish froze squid,prawn and whitebait very greasy ..main grilled meat .no taste not marinaded or seasoned.salad was ok rice basmati ? In all a very unauthentic greek experience.which we wont be repeating. Create some atmosphere for gods sake ....all your patrons last night were v old .need to attract a newer crowd ...

Great place to eat and such friendly and welcoming staff. Had Christmas dinner here which i would highly recommend then returned for my Husbands birthday and had some lovely Greek food. Will certainly return

Friends recommended this restaurant to me and I have now been a regular customer for nearly 2 years. The food is Anglo-Greek with a traditional English roast on Sunday (nearly always roast lamb). The food is nicely presented and very tasty. The amount of regular customers is testimony that they are getting it right. Drinks both wine and beer are fairly priced. The Dover Sole and Sirloin Steak are our favourites. Its a family restaurant although most customers are in their 60's. They also do a 3 course fixed price menu which is great value. Recent last visit late December.

Asegúrese de reservar primero, ya que a veces es maníaco! El servicio es excelente y la comida es buena para un restaurante local de estilo griego. Como tal, también tiene una muy buena relación calidad-precio. Mi recomendación es ir por las especialidades griegas (especialmente su menú fijo) y dejar solo el 'Sunday Roast'.

We ate here on NYE with three generations of my family. We've been going here for nearly 30 years. I love this restaurant. Unassuming, generous portions and a three course meal for £12!! It's fantastic. We always get some assortment of calamari, halloumi, chicken/pork/lamb kebabs, fresh fruit, the honey pot desert, vodka tonics, white wine and Keo beers. It's not often a large family (6+) can eat out for under £100.

Griego o indio?Si vas por el menú fijo. . Que se ve bien en relación calidad-precio. . No podrás distinguir por el sabor. La mayoría de nuestra multitud decidió que era un suave sabor a curry y no los sabores de Grecia.Si vas entre la multitud, prepárate para esperar una hora para el plato principal y la grosería del gerente (y los 2 camareros con exceso de trabajo en un restaurante completo) cuando se le preguntó cuándo llegaría. No es una disculpa y pude ver que tenían poco personal.Cuando llegó sabía como se dijo anteriormente. . con algunos tibios y otros calientes con micro ondas, con pequeñas porciones.Sin embargo, Bill era barato. . Así que supongo que obtienes lo que pagas.

This is a regular haunt of my daughter and she took us there on a Saturday night during our stay. The food was excellent without being too fancy and the service was friendly and attentive. No complaints at all. We’ll certainly be going back.

Anoche visité este restaurante con mi familia numerosa por quinta vez, ya que a mis padres ancianos les encanta estar allí. He tenido suficiente de eso ahora y no volveré. El precio de la comida es excepcionalmente bajo, pero la calidad de la comida es muy mediocre. El peor aspecto de este restaurante es el servicio. Anoche, los camareros estaban al borde de la grosería en varias ocasiones. Realmente somos un grupo muy amigable y no merecíamos ser tratados como éramos. La edad media de la clientela es de 75 años. Por último, tienen una pecera pequeña con demasiados peces grandes. ¡Estoy seguro de que esto es crueldad pescar! !
