The Village Greek in Barnet

The staff was friendly (Julie was lovely!) The restaurant is well decorated and has a lovely ambience. The restaurant was warm and cozy. The food was beautiful and presented on slates which looks great! My son who is 10 really enjoyed his meal and my mom and dad had a great time! We have been there twice in 2 weeks! What beautiful people and beautiful restaurant!

We visited The Village Greek lastnight for a boys steak night . The food was amazing as usual nice monster sized steaks 😁. Great varied selection of greek food with The Village Greeks own twist to some of them. The Tarama which is a secret recipe to the restaurant is the best ever taste in my opinion ( go try it for yourselves ). Our host/ owner Tania was fantastic as usual. Our waitress Julie was amazing with nothing being a problem for her. Thank the team for making our experience from the moment we arrived till we left an absolute pleasure. See you soon.

Amazing friendly atmosphere food amazing taste with a variety of choices clean and fresh , great service very reasonable prices , I was wanting more even when I was full , can’t wait to revisit soon, they also do takeout, nicer to eat at restaurant straight off the grill , fish was amazing, I keep saying amazing 😂

We ordered the full Meze for 2 for collection from their app, which was ready on time and it was great. Huge amount of good quality food for a very reasonable price. Really good local restaurant.

Disappointing. Had a takeaway from restaurant a few times, food ok. Ordered one today but turned up 15mins late and cold. Rang restaurant could hear them arguing in background. Didn’t feel like they believed me, offered replacement but pointless as had microwaved food so family could eat. They couldn’t make up their mind what to do and could hear them on phone mocking me. Said they would phone me back but they didn’t bother. Clearly service isn’t on their agenda. Did fancy going to their restaurant won’t be going now.

Simply don’t. If you want Greek/Greek Cypriot food there are plenty of MUCH better places within a mile or two of this establishment. I gave this place another shot as friends (not Greek) had been recently and said the food was good. I’m sorry but it really isn’t and my non Greek friends need to experience what my culture’s food should taste like. This place is an embarrassment. Dry tough pork kebab The chips were not fresh and probably not hand cut Too much salt in the burnt koftedthes The “pilafi” was plain rice!

What can I say, sat down and the plates were all dirty, asked for them to be changed. We all ordered meze. Cold starters were fine but then the fish came out, rice with prawns was very unpleasant, we ordered a main octopus to come out with our fish and that was very nice. When the meat came out the chicken was raw, they took all the meat away and when it was returned the pork was so dry you couldn’t chew it, unfortunately the chicken was still raw. Definitely not going back and will not be recommending anyone go there

Fabulous welcome, and nothing too much trouble. This place is out of the way, so quite quiet in the week, but deserves lots and lots of visitors. We ordered the small meze hohoho - lots and lots of food and everything good, and served with very good grace. I wish there was a restaurant like this in Norwich! Next time I'm hoping there'll be retsina available, though I know many people hate it. We'll be back working in the area again in the Summer - hope there'll be some in the fridge!

Visited twice and both times have been pleased with the quality and service. It won’t blow your socks off, but for a local restaurant, it is fresh, well cooked and reasonably priced. It is a welcome differentiation from the overwhelming number of Indian and Chinese restaurants in Barnet. It’s a shame it’s so quiet. Personally I think this type of food is better eaten in when just cooked, so it’s a shame so many get takeaways in my opinion. Would definitely visit again. Also thanks to Lee for always being a nice host.

First time dining in at The Village Greek and there were no other tables taken in the restaurant but I'm not sure why - the food was brilliant, fresh and simple just like Greek food should be. Service was very good as well (I know it was quiet but the guy was very attentive), he gave recommendations on the food which I always appreciate and let me know what the dish I ordered was just to make sure I had the right understanding. Good value food and drinks and I look forward to coming again

The lamb kebabs we ordered are a dry pitta bread with a few old dry pieces of lamb, salad and no sauce. I would be ashamed to sell that to people. There's my Sunday joy gone over someone thinking it's cool to sell that as food. Sorry but there's a few Mediterranean places I've been to such as HALA that you should look up to quality and quantity wise. Dissapoined and want my money and good appetite back.

First things first i ordered and the food came over an HOUR LATE!!! its only 10 minutes away from my house and it still came late. then when the food actually arrives i check the bag to see there is NO SALAD,NO LAMB DONNER AND NO SPRITE so they had gave me a chicken burger and when i ate the burger it was DRY AS HELL. SO I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE TO GO HERE!!

Had a takeaway of two mixed chicken and sheftalie kebabs and some sides of dips and halloumi. Can’t really complain about the taramasalata and houmous, however not convinced that they are homemade which makes them well overpriced! The meat in our kebabs was not cooked properly. The sausages were extremely pink and the chicken was questionable. We called and spoke to the manager and he was very apologetic and delivered us a fresh batch of kebabs. You think after complaining that the meat was undercooked the second lot would be done properly...it wasn’t. Not only was some of it still pink, what was edible was bland and dry and quite frankly I think I could have cooked it better myself. In the end we’ve paid over £30 for bread and salad. Extremely disappointed and won’t be returning.

It would be helpful if there was an amount for some dishes. We ordered lamb cutlets thinking it would be a full portion but there was only 3. I don't class that as a full portion especially when it didn't come with anything and we had to order rice separately. It was too expensive for what you get. Also, the tahini and tarama didn't taste anything like it should.

Excellent food. The starters are really good and always hot. The dolomades are so tasty. On this 1 occasion they didn't include the garlic sauce for the kebab.. But this is the 1st blip in many an order.

VERY DISSAPOINTING, will NEVER be ordering from here again. Ordered a Lamb Kebab, when it arrived the Pita bread was soggy and the meat was COLD, considering I live less then TWO minute drive from the restaurant i was very dissapointed, the meat itself lacked flavour. I also orderer grilled halloumi which was dry and also cold.

I booked the whole restaurant for my daughter's christening. Every table was maxed out. Adults had the meze, which was delicious and good portions and the kids had there set meals which they all loved. Good service and quality food at a great price! Looking forward to coming back in the future

Have been a few times and it it clean, service is good and the Meze is to die for both Fish &amp; Meat. Would recommend to anyone.

The food is not consistent and i put this down to perhaps different chefs! Sometimes the chops come with salad! Last night it came wirh about 6 shreds of lettuce which was old as was the minimal amount of parsley which was mostly yellow! When i first started ordering the chops from you they were delicious but have been on the decline each week

Quick to deliver, tasted good, there wasn't a lot of meat in the mixed lamb kebab. For the price, I thought there would have been twice as much. Also £3.50 for feta salad and only receiving a very small slither of feta was a disappointment. (In a small tub)

Great service from friendly professional staff. We had the traditional greek cypriot meze and the food did not disappoint. Enjoyed all the courses from starters to the excellent meat dishes at the end. Excellent value! Well worth a visit!

Meat was over cooked, although we requested the food to be delivered at 8.10 we received an email saying we would get it at 8.30, at 8.40 I called to chase it and was told that it would be another 7 minutes. We waited an hour and a half altogether for 2 kebabs!!

Nice and local, real and authentic Greek food, Taramasalata is white and not pink.. nice young friendly English waitress , chatty and got the wine right.

Order from here often and it's always been great. never late and everything is so tasty and always tastes fresh. my friend and I got the first set menu today and it was so good, highly recommend this place.

well worth the long walk over from Tufnell Park for a feast of delights! It really is a good idea to build up an excellent appetite as even the 3/4 meze is emense. Plus it&#039;s all so delicious that you won&#039;t want to leave anything. The fish is moistly perfectly cooked, the pork so full of flavour , wine lovely, service sensational and all such good value. thank you to all involved.

Mi restaurante griego local estaba lleno con poca antelación, así una búsqueda a 10 millas vomito el pueblo griego. Aunque modesto, la comida era muy buena, especialmente el kleftico, y el servicio muy amable. Camarera y director fueron muy atentos, porciones casi demasiado grande y un bonito detalle fue la oferta de un licor griego en el final de la comida. Buena para ver un montón de los griegos locales con el restaurante.

I ordered the ribeye steak it was average.

Felt food was over priced for what we had and was just ok. Service pleasant and helpful and we were not rushed at all - which was great. Not much atmosphere though. Not rush back!

Delivery perfect, ontime. Sheftalia was amazing. Food hot but ordered tiger prawns got ordinary prawns in a sauce that was so bland, no flavour and looked like tomato soup. Fish was over cooked and dry

I visited here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The service was excellent and all staff really attentive. I would recommend the moussaka. It was delicious and the portions were huge. Complimentary Baileys was much appreciated. Will definitely visit again.

good service. food arrived early and friendly delivery guy. food on other hand nothing to shout about. Just a cheap shish kebab with chip shop garlic sauce and chillie sauce. small cubes of chicken too very disappointing for price. Rice was nice but overall disappointed with food quality especially after reading some reviews. really is cheap chip shop kebab with a big price tag!

To start of the delivery was late 20 mins than the expected time. The food was very poor. I was expecting greek food, but there was nothing similar to it.

Luke warm food the moussaka was inedible and thrown straight in the bin it looked like a reheated dish that had sat around for days the sheftalias had the the Same feel to them pre cooked and reheat its a shame as we were both really looking forward to it

Extremadamente agradable servicio y excelente comida. Pedimos que nos cambiaran de mesa y nos trataron con la mayor solicitud. Maravillosa lubina y arroz; fabulosa con las mejores patatas fritas de berenjena y kleftiko nunca. Comimos ensalada como lateral, que fue generoso y bueno. Había un gran fiesta celebrando un cumpleaños, pero eso no afectó el buen servicio. Dos cafés griegos y una botella de vino tinto de la casa y en un servicio de 27 libras - cabeza incluyendo no está del todo mal. Lo recomiendo.

Truly recommend this place. We ordered the set meal for 2 at £37.50. The amount of food that came was epic and could have easily fed 4! The cold starters were top quality, especially the Tzatziki, really creamy! The hot starters were OK, i'm not too keen on these anyway but the kalimari is to die for. The main was a selection of kebabs etc which was at high standard. Overall 5*

Food is reasonably priced and definitely good value for money as everything we ordered was delicious! The restaurant itself was clean and waitress was very friendly and polite. Will be returning again very soon.

The home made orthentic Greek food is to die for. All fresh ingredient cooked with love. Friendly efficient staff are attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend it.

I have been to the village greek on enough occasions to have sampled everything on the menu at least once every time leaving there completely full and very satisfied with the food portions and taste. In my opinion they do the BEST traditional pork kebabs cooked on Real charcoal. The service is always faultless and nothing is a problem for them. Great owner and staff. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you.

Food was not great, potatoes salad well I have never had anything like that just potshots cut and put into a tub. As a Greek person the food was not great.

The actual food was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it, however a small nitpick is that the olives in my salad were not destoned which was a mild annoyance. That was all for the mains though, the dessert was honestly atrocious, one of the worst chocolate cakes I've had, can't recommend. Overall though it's a good place and an excellent choice if you fancy something a bit more exciting than just a kebab.

Delivered on time but unfortunately one out of the three meat dishes was cold which was a shame as food was tasty. Chips not nice, tasted more like frozen than real potato. Would definitely order again, minus the chips.

Delivered early which was great, however they couldn't find my house so I had to run up the road to collect the food. Also the food quality was not great, i fact me and my boyfriend didn't eat it because we didn't enjoy the food.
