Absolutely tasteless.. salt and pepper squid even lacking salt. No taste Seafood laksa should jst be called prawn laksa as that is all there is in it (5 prawns) Also tasteless.. like the worst laksa i have eaten to date. Unfortunate really as i was looking forward to it because of the reviews. Can only say they have bland/impaired tastebuds lol. But truthfully not worth it. I love food; tasty food and this was a far cry from that.Would not order again. Just a big disappointment.

I had been welcomed in with a cheerful smile and seated speedily. The service was impeccable and the food quality really excellent. I can't give 5 stars on food because the portions were too small in relation to the the price. Almost 15 pounds (14.90) for a pretty small cup of a delightful lamb curry and 4.80 pounds for a same sized egg rice bowl are probably too much (plus service). Everyone is struggling with cost of living and either lowering prices or increasing portions would encourage more people to come back to this cozy family restaurant, not a "fine dining" venue.😊

Came in to eat as a group. Overall, a really nice meal and we all enjoyed it. Restaurant decor is a tiny bit dated but the food is what you come here for, and the environment is much better than the old location in whitgift imo. The food was priced ok. Drinks are on the higher side of your familiar with wing yip pricing. That being said, the portion sizes for dine food in are very generous and the taste is authentic and delicious. The roti are also very nice. Decent size, chewy and crispy with a great curry sauce dip. My personal favourite. The staff inside were friendly and chatty providing very good service and a nice dine in experience. They were also very accommodating as we came for dinner but they still offered to cook some of the lunch menu street food items if we wanted them. Overall, the group had a nice Malaysian inspired evening! Roti, satay, laksa, rendang, chicken curry, fried rice all went down well.

We ordered delivery - got the spring rolls which were fantastic, chicken laksa which was delicious and a set meal for 2 (beef rendang, satay chicken skewers etc) It was so lovely! It took a little while to come, but when it arrived the delivery driver was so lovely and the food was well worth the wait! Strong recommend! The laksa came with all the noodles and other bits separate to the soup so that everything was fresh and crunchy - really nice touch!

Not fresh food plus such bad customer service. They have delivered food to my address before and usually I would go to their restaurant to eat. But I was too tired today so I asked for home delivery and was told they were not willing to deliver to my area. How stupid? Then why did you give me the food before that? They can change their policies at any time. Very poor customer service, especially the lady boss

One well-regarded spot in London for Nyonya cuisine is Uncle Lims, located near South Croydon. Nyonya is a blend of Malaysian and Chinese flavors with a rich selection of traditional dishes at affordable prices. The menu includes dishes like Laksa, Hainanese chicken rice, and Beef Rendang. The Beef Rendang is a standout, cooked in a thick, spicy paste, and tender enough to be easily shared. Other highlights include Penang Char Kway Teow, stir-fried flat noodles with a mix of prawns and fish cakes, as well as the Prawn Lemak, a coconut milk-based curry infused with lemongrass. The overall atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a great option for trying this unique Nyonya cuisine in London.

Hopefully a balanced and fair review, and i would stress that i believe our experience to be an exception rather than the norm so I wouldn't want anybody to be put off by it. I just think, unfortunately, the day we went was particularly busy and this led to a long wait for food, over an hour. It was most likely just circumstances on the day. Other than that, very nice food, exactly what we wanted and a nice smaller place. Despite the experience today, I'm sure we'll go back again and hopefully it'll prove right the thoughts around it being an unfortunate day that can happen anywhere from time to time.

I went with there with my friend to the new uncle Lims having liked the whitgift ones. The menu has coffee, Malaysian coffee and different coffees on the menu with options for hot and cold. I ask for a cold coffee and she asks me which coffee I want and I tell her just the option that says coffee. She brings me a hot black coffee that was too bitter to even drink, fine it’s just a mistake. The Seafood curry laksa was mid and not very good. By the end of the bill my order which should have been (£11.90 +£2+£0.10) came to £17.75 partially due to a £3 tip that they just added onto our receipt that my friend and I split. Before I could even take a chance to look at the receipts for what other charges have been made to come up this cost, the lady serving me immediately took the receipt and walked away. As a broke uni student who barely eats out this made me really upset, horrible service and just robbery :/ at least have good food and get my order right if this is that’s going to happen.

Disclaimer; I’ve never eaten in, I’ve only ever ordered via delivery/gotten take out but that said, my rating is purely for the seafood laksa, which I love. It’s very tasty! I’ve tried a few other things; the nasi goreng (okay), veg spring rolls (okay) and the pak choi w/ oyster & garlic sauce (v. disappointing) but, for me, nothing has compared to the seafood laksa. One day maybe I’ll give the laksa with chicken a go but for the foreseeable future, it’s the seafood laksa for me!

I would not recommend this place for people who prefer to eat vegetarian meals. They carelessly mix up meat into veg meals. Even if you would ask them to do it again for you, they still give you the same food just by trying to take away the meat pieces on the same plate. That means the cook is truly a lazy person to be in the kitchen or they don’t simply care for your needs. Also the owner doesn’t value your feelings and just justifies her neglect towards the customer by just saying ‘sorry’! Also they don’t care where their cat goes around in the restaurant. It’s just everywhere but still they convince you by confirming that the cat usually stays upstairs in the apartment. The cat walks freely in the kitchen and dining area, even under the dining table. People who are allergic to pet hair must really take extra caution before going there. Also the standard of food is not as same as before. Therefore think twice before you dine there. If you prefer veg food then totally avoid this place. Definitely, they use the same wok to prepare most of the meals. Undoubtedly veg and meat gets mixed up so carelessly. Don’t let them to ruin your day. I wish I can post this review without giving even that 1 star. If you eat anything then you can give a try for yourself.

The food was okay. Roti canai was definitely expensive for the small quantity they provided. The service wasn’t great and the waiter(I presume she’s the owner) was pretty rude to us. On top, the restaurant charges a 15% Tips/Gratuity which is not discretionary.

The food was okay, however was pricey for the quantity they gave especially for the roti canai. We didn’t like the service at all, the waitress was rude (seemed to be rude after knowing we are coming via Fork with 20% discount, as she was friendly with some other diners). If you are using the Fork discount, please note that they add a compulsory 15% “tips/gratitude” which basically offsets almost the entire discount.

Disappointing visit which was very strange. Firstly decor was simple and straightforward. It was very quiet in the shop which was already a bad sign. The staff member who saw to the tables seemed very junior and it must have been their first day as they didn’t seem to know how to do the basics of waiting. I’ve never done this job for money but you need to know the menu, take orders, lay out cutlery and always have your hands full either bringing or taking away plates from tables. You know it’s bad when multiple tables are brought their food and actually have to ask for cutlery. Each and every time. And the server doesn’t use the down time to simply lay out some cutlery. In terms of the food the seafood laksa was okay and not overly sweet as some places make this but didn’t have as many ingredients as I’ve seen in some photos and only tiny prawns whilst the kway teow had a nice flavour and ingredients. The nasi lemak was disappointing. Not enough coconut flavour to the rice and very little sambal on the plate. The chicken was excellent thankfully and perhaps the dish could be cheaply elevated by some Malay curry sauce on the chicken/rice as sambal anchovies can be expensive/difficult to acquire in the UK. The staff did kindly provide more sambal on request which I appreciated In all I’ve been to a handful of Malaysian restaurants and quite honestly am extra fussy as very few places do it justice when compared to other cuisines like Japanese or Chinese which are pretty spot on in the UK. Many others visiting appeared to be regulars so they are definitely doing something right. Though for me comparing the food to the images I saw beforehand felt like I visited a different restaurant.
