Ty Mawr in Rhondda Cynon Taf

A tasty roast, huge portions, the meat was good quality & the veg fresh. The food came out within minutes of ordering & we left full & Happy. The only thing id mention is some kids were kindly given a xylophone by a member of the staff & placed in an area slightly away from the family but basically behind us, the noise was repetitive & unbearable! I understand it was to entertain them while the family had some time but it was too much for us & the table next to us from what we could tell. We Would recommend this place to friends & it’s been lovely the few times we have been.

Customer service is great, very patient with when talking over the phone, explained the food options very well, food quality amazing, portion sizes amazing, you have more than expected, would definitely order a meal again Price's are very reasonable, would recommend to family and friends. :)

Had a lovely Sunday dinner up the Ty Mawr hotel, can’t beat the service or food. Considering multiple bookings for Mother’s Day, the service was quick and staff were very accommodating, food was nothing less than delicious. A great dinner in a great pub. I’ll be a returning customer.

Food was delicious & quickly served. However after a 35 minute wait for someone the clear our table away i decided to go to the bar & ask for the bill. Not really acceptable with adequate staffing as there was. We would have liked to have been offered dessert but due to how slow service post meal was we just didn't bother.

What a beautiful pub, was my sons engagement party. Great pint and lovely staff. Wonderful outside area aswell.

Went there with a booking of over 20. They had no problem serving our food on time as planned.

We didn't go inside as it was too early and the place was closed, but I understand that you Sunday lunches are very tasty and popular.

Just had the best vegetarian Sunday lunch, there were 3 choices to choose from Quorn roast, nut roast or vegetarian sausage, went for the nut roast and it was absolutely beautiful, service was second to none. Portion size was amazing with a fraction of the cost you would pay for a Carvery but all freshly prepared. Can’t wait I to go back.

Very busy for a local, Friday night dart teams playing at home lots of teens juke box going good atmosphere and friendly but bit of a struggle to make yourself heard.

Another very enjoyable Sunday lunch this week. Those extra touches of having mashed potato available & separate gravy for each meat are lovely. My son had a large dinner, i don't know how he managed to eat it all, it was huge. Apple tart & custard is excellent too.

Great Sunday lunch, plenty on the plate & delicious again. Beef & lamb falling apart nicely. Dessert was also delicious. Staff attenetive but not overly so. 2 mains, 1 large, 1 small, 2 desserts & 2 cokes £23. Bragain price & will return.

Visited yesterday for afternoon tea. Brilliant selection of sandwiches and cakes, presented beautifully. Friendly owner and staff. Would definitely recommend for a treat!

Great Sunday lunch. Myu wife & i have visted many places for Sunday lunch buit this place is definitely the best of dozens for us. The little differences make all the difference. Mashed potatoes if required instead of boiled & proper gravy for each of the meats which included lamb at a small extra cost. It was the sort of Sunday dinner your mother would have dished up...big plateful. Lovely desserts too. Staff were helpful & around if needed but not in one's face. Clean in there & roomy. Just over £30 for 3 meals including 1 veggie take away, 3 desserts & 2 cokes. We'll definitely visit again.

Don't normally leave reviews but had to on this occasion. I have to say this probably the best pub to visit in pontypridd. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much bother. If your looking for a good pub to unwide after a hard day's work look no further!

I came to the ty mawr for my birthday meal and drinks with a few members of my family , all tables were set out as 6 all 2 metres apart, signs were on the walls to sanitise, markings on the floor for a one way system, the bar staff were very polite and happy to help, we had table service throughout the evening and our food was amazing , real chips not the frozen rubbish and the burgers and chicken was cooked to perfection, I would highly recommended the ty mawr I’ve been many times and it’s always been a pleasure

Nice atmosphere, shame it's cash only. Meals were nice, if a bit too salty, gravy was slightly too jelly like! Very very filling & kept warm whilst we went to find cash! Friendly bar staff too :-) worth going for a meal.

Haven't actually been here yet, but we had two Sunday dinners delivered to our home. Which were excellent in quality and quantity. Will definitely be ordering again. And will be paying a visit very soon.

Had a prawn cocktail to start and a sirloin with all the trimmings for main. Food was stunning with good portion size and a decent price to match! My steak was cooked to perfection! Would highly recommend!

Phoned and booked in quite late, the staff were very accommodating in taking my late booking and I’m so glad they did I ordered a large dinner and I have to say it was massive but I managed to eat it all as it was so tasty. I would highly recommend this place for Sunday lunch and I’m definitely coming back.

My wife and I were passing, saw the Sunday Lunch sign, luckily there was room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. One of the best Sunday lunches ever! Fresh veg, mashed potatoes and ample meat. You'll have to go a long way to beat it!! Now a regular for us.

Awesome Sunday Lunch they even delivered to my parents. They enjoyed so much we all visited the next week. Everything home made and it is refreshing that in the age of processed food and microwave pub grub this place stays true to the Sunday Lunch experience. Sunday roast is the best fresh vegetables cooked just right mash to die for great value for money.

We eat Sunday lunch at the Ty Mawr regularly. The food is excellent. The staff are great and the drinks are very reasonable. We go as a couple and have also taken extended family. Nothing is too much trouble. In fact it's getting a weekly habit. We love it. It's also excellent value for money.

Go here every week for sunday dinner and its absolutely outstanding. Im allergic to gluten and the land lady makes me gluten free dinner and pudding xx

We have only lived in Pontypridd a few months. The Tymawr has been an amazing find. Super Service. We have been several times for Sunday Lunch. The food is amazing. Home cooked. Beautiful tender meat. Efficient service. Value for money. We shall be returning regularly.

I had my 60th birthday in this pub and was amazed at the effort and attention to detail the ownner, Donna Smith, went to. She personalised the party and the buffet, which was amazing. Not surprising as she does the best Sunday lunch by miles, all fresh vegetables and fresh cooked. AMAZING.

Cuatro de nosotros visitamos el Tymawr para comer el domingo. Comida muy buena, abundante carne recién cortada en rodajas no envoltorios, un ambiente de cordialidad. Muy buen precio y excelente servicio. Recomiendo este sitio donde comer a cualquiera que busque una buena comida a un precio muy bueno. Se recomienda la reserva, pero sólo en el teléfono después de las 3 pm. Selección de refrescos bien.Bar diáfana y comedor. Sólo abierto en el momento para llevar el domingo.
