Visited for Sunday lunch, average food, staff are nice, the place is easy to find, booking in advance on the weekends is advised.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Had a lovely meal and birthday celebration for a party of 11. What an amazing place with both excellent staff and faultless service . Will see you again soon. Thank you all.

A large group of 34 of us went to celebrate a 60th birthday. The atmosphere was just right, the service is great, the food is plentiful and tasty and it was the perfect venue to cater for the requirements of a large diverse group of people, we will be back again!

We had an amazing lunch with friends here on Saturday. All the food was delicious and served promptly by a lovely waitress. Plenty of choices from 3 different menus. The cannelloni and sherry trifle were two standouts for us. We are local and, as always had a great meal here. Thank you once again Fullbrooks !

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to Simon and all the staff my mother visited Fullbrook’s Bistro with friends to celebrate her birthday where they were given a lovely warm welcome on arrival the party of four had there meals who all said were cooked perfectly ( as always ) the staff then presented her with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her. My mother would like to say a big thank you to you all for an evening she’ll never forget, I to would like to also thank you all for everything you have done to make her day so special extremely grateful .Chris

We visited Fullbrooks this evening. Not our first visit by any means but once again the meals we both had were absolutely first class. It is a friendly family run restaurant - and this really shows. The warm welcome - the attention to detail - the quality of the menu and the meals. First class!! Will be back soon!!

We went as a party of 9 for an 18th birthday celebration. The food was amazing, piping hot and all came out together. Everything from the starters to the desserts was really tasty. It was fully booked the night we went but the service was still attentive and the staff were lovely. They even put banners up which we thought was a really lovely gesture. It’s the first time we’ve visited but we’ll definitely be back!

Food was excellent there. Everyone in my party throughly enjoyed and staff were friendly too. Will definitely be visiting again

We were a family of 4 adults and 1 child and would have no hesitation in recommending this bistro. The food and service was faultless and look forward to returning again soon. Even my husband said it was the best gammon he had ever tasted. 😆 Thank you for such an enjoyable evening.

Superb bistro restaurant. Our first time in Pontyclun so we didn't know what to expect. The menu was comprehensive and the food we all chose was excellent with large portions. Served by efficient and friendly, helpful staff. Would certainly recommend and would visit again if we're ever in the area again.

Lovely Sunday lunch excellent service amazing desserts will go again

We arrived at 9 pm as we were on our way home having been let down badly by Brothers Pontyclun. We were made to feel very welcome, even though it was late, and were served a delicious meal. The starters were amazing - my husband especially loved the mussels. The steak and the chicken mains were also great ! The service at this restaurant is first class. Both the young waitress and waiter were courteous and the food / drinks arrived promptly. We have eaten here many times as we are local to the village and have always had a lovely time. Thank you Fullbrooks for rescuing my husband’s birthday celebration last night !

A party of 6, food was lovely, hot and served with a smile. Gammon and eggs were the favourite, can highly recommend. We'd finished eating by 9.30 and we're the only ones in the restaurant, we stayed chatting and laughing until gone 11, with no pressure to leave which was lovely. We've been to many places where they shut shop at 10 after the meal, so this was perfect for us. The staff were pleasant, patient and efficient. Will definitely return

Food was ok but pricey for what it was

We spent a great Sunday afternoon at Fullbrook's Bistro for my wife's Birthday celebrations. The service was amazing from the start when booking, through to the experience when there. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The staff were very polite and helpful. This is our 4th visit, and will not be our last.

My Mother had her 80th Birthday meal at the restaurant last night and I had to write a review as she had the most incredible time surrounded by all her friends! They have all commented how fabulous the food was and we were able to organise everything with the help of the quite frankly brilliant staff. It’s a little gem of a bistro where the food, drink and welcome are of a very high standard. Thank you so much to the staff who made it such a special night and I would recommend anyone to book a table there for a celebration or just a lovely meal

Had a fantastic evening celebrating with friends. As a group of ten, everyone was impressed not only with the quality but how well their food was cooked and presented. I had mussels to start which were cooked to perfection and plump and juicy 😋. The sauce just tasted divine. Its the 3rd time at this little bistro and I found a gem of a place and will be definitely visiting it again.

We had a party of 31 in January.. From the booking to arranging meals and seating us all to giving us a fabulous choice of three courses for all tastes it was brilliant… The staff are fantastic and really welcoming.. The food was brought out to each one of us hot and delicious and all at the same time… We really couldn’t fault anything about our evening and will definitely be going back… Well done Simon and your staff…

Delicious food and great options for vegan diners. Highly recommend the cauliflower wings, grilled salmon and salted caramel and chocolate cake but everything else was good too!

We popped in on the off chance of a table on a Friday night. They were so accommodating and quickly cleared and prepared a table for us. Food was delicious and the service was great 👍

Both my wife and I knew from the moment we sat down that we were going to have a very pleasant evening as the ambiance was perfect.The menu was good with uncomplicated food and some great old favourites on it.We both thoroughly enjoyed the starters and main coarse and they went out of their way to serve us a bespoke dessert, it was all beautifully cooked and presented and delicious. The service was flawless and given that it was a busy period it was all well coordinated. Thank you all at Fullbrooks and rest assured we will definitely recommend you to friends and family.

Me and the Mrs went last night and the service and food was amazing the steak was one of the best I've ever had they definitely have a top quality chef 👨‍🍳 in the kitchen and the staff are so polite we will 100% be going back.

Both currys were powdery and grainy in texture and tasted like they were made from a packet mix. We visited on a Sunday, and the vegetable curry looked like it just been made using the veg from the standard Sunday roast dinner ie. Broccoli, batons of carrots, peas, and potatoes halved in their skins. The 'triffle' looked delicious but again tasted as if it had been spooned out of tins and jars; the custard was exactly like tinned, ready-made custard. The 2 meals, 2 desserts and 2 soft drinks came to a few pence under £50. Definitely wasn't value for money and we won't be going back. On the plus side, the restaurant was spotlessly clean, the mango chutney was delicious, and the staff were super-friendly and very polite.

Nice little village bistro serving well cooked and delicious food. An extensive vegan and vegetarian menu caters for all tastes! Only minor complaint - needs a bit of soft furnishings to soak up the sound as it can be quite loud once everyone starts getting lubricated!

Stopped for lunch. Amazed by the menu - light bites, full menu, vegan menu, children's menu. Our 4 meals were all cooked perfectly and well presented. Staff were attentive and obliging. Prices were good for the quality of food. Would unhesitatingly recommend.

All the food was delicious (the battered fish, lasagna, grilled fish) but the stand out definitely for me was the mutton!!

Lovely family meal at the Fullbrook Bistro, delicious food and the service couldn’t have been more attentive, will definitely visit again.

I have eaten here 3 times over the space of 6weeks, with family and friends. The food, welcome, presentation and ambience has been consistently great! Lovely menu, something for everyone including vegans and vegetarians. Drinks are not as expensive as other restaurants, so it’s a win:win. The staff are very friendly and are a credit to Simon. Very COVID compliant too! Thanks everyone. See you very soon.

We visited the bistro as a last minute booking. The only table available on a Friday night was outside which wasn’t a problem as the weather was fine.We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who sat us down and took our drinks order. Despite being busy they were delivered promptly. I ordered the beef burger and my husband ordered the gammon with sauté potatoes. We didn’t wait long for the food to arrive. It was delicious and very nicely presented. The portions were large. The prices were very reasonable. It was lovely to receive service with a smile. If we were ever visiting the area again we would certainly book to eat there again.

We have family in Pontyclun and pass through the town several times per week. In fact, we are about to move there. I have always been curious about Fullbrook's but never eaten there, until two weeks ago that is. Wow, why did I leave it so long? The atmosphere, food and service is first class. Nothing pretentious, just excellent cooking obviously using top quality ingredients. I had a sirloin steak that was cooked exactly to my liking (medium-rare) and was as soft as a fillet steak. At £17.95 it was excellent value compared to another I had the week before in Penarth, at £23.95. This restaurant is a keeper and it will be our first port of call to celebrate our new house after we move into the area next Monday.

Table for 6 just after Re-opening from lockdown. Staff were fabulous, nothing to much, the food was varied and very good. We were the last left in the restaurant snd at no time were we hurried. Would happily recommend this restaurant.

Literally the BEST restaurant around! The food is simply outstanding! Especially the signature dish of “Fullbrooks chicken”The staff are extremely welcoming, and friendly. It was the first time today we took our 2 year old, and there was no issues with her being their either. She loved her sausage and chips! The sticky toffee pudding was delicious! Highly recommend for couples and families!

A small restaurant that serves decent food at a reasonable price. Due to the present restrictions a limited menu was on offer and atmosphere was a bit subdued but service was of a high standard. We have dined here on a few occasions and not been disappointed.
