Booking.com made an error with our booking at the venue, the landlord went above and beyond to look after us, I have never met a nicer genuine man. You can tell he's amazing because all of his staff are happy. The food was outstanding and the service was even better. I hate to say it, but I think this is the best place in Port Talbot.

Popped in there for a breakfast. I had the vegan, my wife had the veggie and they were both excellent!! Highly recommended. Reasonably priced too.

I treated my husband to Sunday lunch today at The Twelve Knights. I have to say we were not disappointed. The Sunday lunch was excellent value for money (he had roast beef and I had spinach tart). The portion sizes are extremely generous. We both agreed that the mashed potato was the best we have eaten in years. We will definitely be back.

Called in for lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good quality in fact the whole experience was totally enjoyable. Would I call again you bet I would.

On arrival I very impressed with the cleanceness of the hotel/pub. A member of staff explained fire exits and where to meet on the carpark. The room is spacious, comfy bed and a decent sized bathroom with a deep bath tub. I think the cost of the stay dosen't reflect the true price of what I paid on booking.com . I think its worth more and would happily pay more to stay here again. I decided to dine in the pub and went for the vegetable chilli and garlic bread, yum yum . Very quick service too.

Booked a table for 8 at 1.30 on Saturday 11th 2025. Turned up early and with only 6 people. Lady at bar said no problem whatsoever and we could sit and order early if we wanted. Lovely welcome. Great choice - we had curry, lasagne, chicken salad, Hunters Chicken. Arrived in good time and was delicious. The staff also checked everything was ok. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely time. We will visit again when next in area. Diolch yn Fawr.

When checking in we were greeted with the news that we wouldn't be able to go outside after 11.30. No reason given other than that the building is locked and intruder alarm set. £6.30 for a pint sitting in a fairly dirty bar and sticky table. Meanwhile the staff started clearing down at 9.30, turned off the TVs (I was actually watching the footy, thanks) and then sat on their phones, clearly waiting for us to vacate the area, really uncomfortable. Room was tired, outdated peeling decor, broken toilet seat, damaged enamel in the bath, stained and tucked carpet, stains on the sheets and my sleep was constantly disturbed by some machinery starting up in the yard outside every ten minutes. This is the difference between a hotel and a boozer that's got some rooms. Won't ever return and very nearly went to look for somewhere else to stay that night. Didn't even include breakfast either, but judging by the rest of the facilities I doubt it would have been edible. Yes, please raise your bar because that was an awful stay.

lovely cosy pub with a warming atmosphere. was playing christmas music in the background and had the log/effect fire buring on my most recent visit today. enjoyed a few events in the function room in the past. had my first meal here today and while the price of a mixed grill was decent i was underwhelmed with the chicken which was like a frozen chicken from a supermarket mutlipack, and was served luke warm. the 2 sausages were dry and overcooked. the thick chips were nice also the mushrooms. steak was ok. would definitely return but will try something else off the menu. service was good. fast and friendly.

Perfectly decent, "okay" overall - very easy to access, plenty of parking, nice bit of character to the building. Function room is a good size and they put on a perfectly passable buffet, nothing extraordinary (although it must be said, excellent chips) but got the job done nicely. Bar floor was unfortunately rather sticky and clearly hadn't had a good deep clean in a very long time (clearly not the sole fault of the current custodian, who doesn't seem to have been there long) - bar itself was clean and tidy, in fairness. Staff were polite and courteous, though struggled with the PoS system and were rather slow all evening, despite (fortunately) not too many people waiting to be served. Wouldn't rule out going in again, but wouldn't make a special trip either (by no means local).

The food was delicious and served hot we each had a gravy boat which was great the roast potatoes had improved from before they were bigger more like a roast everything was cooked to perfection only draw back is red cabbage we only like green cabbage

2 work colleagues and I went for a quick lunch. 3 orders were placed using the QR on the menu. It was not busy. After 25 minutes of waiting I went hunting for our drinks, only to find all 3 orders had been missed. They arrived, but none were correct. A bottle of Pepsi was swapped for pint of Pepsi from a pump. The Pepsi max were changed to Pepsis. None of the drinks had ice, despite 2 of us selecting the "little ice" on the order. The food eventually arrived. I'd ordered the battered fish and chips. It arrived cold and the batter was soggy. Not a ' batter full of oil' type soggy but a 'warmed up in a microwave' type soggy. But the wedge of lemon I was served felt warmer than the fish and a little dry, as if it had been under a heat lamp. My colleagues had similar issues with their orders. We were looking for a lunch time alternative to our normal, Greg's, Subway or McDonald's - this is not it.

Great place for a quick tasty meal

Thank you to all, we had an amazing evening for our daughter's engagement party. Can't fault anything from the time we enquired about booking up to the evening. 100% accommodated us all. From the new owner down to the bar staff. Thank you to the amazing chef and his team for the buffet. If anyone wants a venue and service 100% book Twelve Knights. Can also recommend hiring Anton Deck as a DJ which I booked myself he was amazing.

We come away for 1 night for a Halloween event, the staff on arrival were brilliant. We’re quite awkward people and quiet but they made us feel mega comfortable within the first hour. All staff were friendly, always checking if everything was ok. We read some reviews and saw some had issues with too little pillows or no hairdryer but there were extra pillows and a hair dryer in the room, plenty of refreshments. The sheets were spotless, the room isn’t high end but it’s cosy and that was enough for us. The en suite was generously sized the bath was on point. The bed was just something else, comfy was an understatement! Can’t thank them enough for staying up late for us too come back from our event, come home too the heating on and some nice chatter about how our day was. We ordered food when we got here and was still full the next day when checking out, was lush! Although there isn’t much about we’d be up for coming back just because we enjoyed so much. So affordable, the vibe isn’t like all the modern bars, this is a good old hearty pub. Loved it!

Stayed here for one night for an event w/my partner. We don't go out much let alone stay out just as we're quite awkward people, in our own bubble almost but after last night we are up for doing it again. There isn't much around but I'd come just for the vibe if I'm honest, it's a nice night away, staff couldn't be more helpful. Had a LUSH night's sleep, that bed was 10/10. En suite was bigger than my bathroom at home, bath was deep and all, was nice! Ordered food on arrival and was spot on&really affordable too. I'm still full when checking out! The husband&wife I think they were, they were SO friendly, always checking we were okay&happy with everything, even stayed up for us too come home from our event&offered too stay up much later if needed, we REALLY appreciated that. Genuinely can't fault this place rn, I read some reviews about small things like no hair dryer, not enough pillows, outdated etc but there was a hair dryer&extra pillows provided in the room, I wouldn't say outdated I'd say hearty. Like it's proper cosy. Even the pub itself gave us a 'homely/wholesome' vibe, especially in the evening. The staff do a brilliant job here, they must work really hard too keep the place tiptop. We really enjoyed and more so because of how welcomed we were made too feel, we have nothing bad too say. We definitely will remember this place when wanting a night away&Ive already recommended it too family when getting picked up and will continue too do so. Thankyou guys so much! I really wish I'd taken photos of the food and room but honestly it was so good we dug right in😂

Food was awful very scabby with the chips and when ordering the lasagna I order chips separately and they never give the garlic bread which come with the meal atmosphere was just full of piss heads loud

We were not greeted, we had to find someone. We explained the table was booked by our friend. So he just sat us at a table, not checking name or booking. Our friends arrived and she explained she had booked a table for 9. He said you will have to sit over there then. He gave us menu which looked and felt as if they had been sitting in a frying pan. I went to order at the bar but he came to the table. I asked about gluten free and he said I will have to look at the website and then said he will speak to the chef. He walked off sighing! Food and service was good and arrived quickly. Warm welcome, middle of day and very quiet so hard to comment on atmosphere people were arriving as we were leaving to maybe give it a bit of atmosphere.

Ordered a delicious gourmet burger and chips. Perfectly done fries tasted amazing and well complimented with gravy for dipping. The burger was so good and a decent size portion. I was shocked at the appalling state of the place. My brother passed this email on to me for my comments. Many years ago my brother had his wedding reception there and it was a very classy interior. We used to call regularly after we visited my parents grave and up until a few years ago it was fine. When we called as a family on the 19th August we were shocked. If we had time we would have left and gone somewhere else. The carpets are filthy. It says dog friendly. I wouldn't want my dog sitting on that carpet. The tables were so sticky I could not slide my glass on it. The room was about as welcoming as a refugee camp. The food was dry and not very tasty. I do not blame the staff they have to work in a very run down building. The outside appearance does not tell you what lies within. Marston ought to be ashamed of themselves. I didn't notice the rating but i would struggle to give it 1. If they don't want it sell it to some firm that cares.

First visit, greeted by very friendly staff, food was good value for the price

We stayed for one night during a trip with friends to South Wales, we didn't have dinner but we had breakfast the next morning, they offer you a choice ranging from continental to classic English breakfast. The hotel is in full British style!

Horrible experience, The hotel doesn’t keep any security or staff overnight. We used this hotel for a night stop as we were travelling to london. At 2am a drunk man starts banging in our door while we sleep, trying to get in! He got drunk from the hotel pub and no one was there when we called reception for help, even Police couldn’t get into the hotel when we called as all their doors were locked. We had no option but wait for him to stop trying to break into the room for 30minutes. Wouldn’t recommend anyone staying at this hotel, specially if you are alone or with kids!

It was our very first pub/ hotel stay experience. Comfortable bed, bath and toilet in the room. Was comfortable stay. Will we do it again.....maybe? Good experience though. Staff were very polite and helpful, thank you for that.

Nice pub drinks are a bit pricey for the area

A bunch of us popped in for food and drinks as it was the first place we found local to where we were working. Drinks well priced, food fairly cheap (should have been a red flag!). When the food came, two of us had ordered pie and it was still frozen in the middle. I asked for them to be returned and replaced, waiter was accommodating if not particularly interested. Then the fun started! During the 20 mins wait for the replacement meals, we saw (thru the kitchen door window) the Chef kick off and throw things across the kitchen while hurling a bunch of expletives at anyone in range. When the replacement food eventually arrived (after everyone else had finished theirs), I suggested to the waiter a couple of free pints to maybe make up for the poor experience. He agreed, went off to the bar, and about 15 minutes later we went and fetched them ourselves! All in all, just let down by poor service. A bit rubbish really. #zeroparanormal

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and it was a wonderful stay! Kylie and her entire team were great! The restaurant's cuisine was also really excellent, you could smell the food being fresh. Thank you for this welcome, if we come back to this area there is no doubt this is where we will stay. Kylie is the BOSS 💪🏻

We arranged to come here for food before goong to a pre booked event. We ordered then waited over an hour for food that never came. We arranged for a refund but i wasn't refunded for the full amount I paid despite my friend having a full refund that she paid for. It was chaotic and we ended up not eating all day as a result and going to our event hungry or in my friends case ....hangry!. The meal I had the last time I visited was poor so with this attempt at having food and not even getting to eat it I will never return and will be sure if anyone asks my opinion on this place I will have no choice but to give my honest opinion based on my last 2 visits.really disappointed

A great place for food and drink, the mega mixed grill is filling and cooked to how i like it, drinks not bad in there either but for me, what makes the place is the friendly staff, all are excellent esecially 2 managers in Kev and the caring and polite Chloe .. would recommend 👍😊👌

Just spent the weekend at the twelve knights, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food we had was excellent room was very spacious and clean we will definitely be back thanks to all for a lovely stsy

There was a big board advertising daily offers. Thursday said the offer was steak and a drink. When we got to the till staff member wasnt sure if the offer was on. She spoke to another member of staff who also didn't know and said the till will do the offer if its available. Turns out the offer wasnt available. Why have a huge board advertising it when the offer isnt on. We had gone as the social media page for the pub states they have a bingo evening every Thursday. There is even a weekly event on the facebook page advertising it. Again there was no bingo.

I'll went here for 2 days room was a lot bigger than an normal hotel with Bath 🛁 & 🚿 I would say it's basics but clean bed comfortable tea coffee & biscuits in room I use this place again all staff friendly and helpful 5 ⭐ to them

Booked a table for 7 on Christmas Day no cutlery on tables had to wait 50 minutes for starters another 55 minutes for the dinner which was cold and dry and overcooked waiting again for dessert by then we’d had enough everyone was complaining on other tables so we didn’t stay for the dessert spoke to the manager who wasn’t interested and we left would never go back again absolute shambles.

Went on Christmas eve. Packed full of children running around like a playground, almost knocked my disabled husband off his feet.

The meal was not what I expected small gravy boat for 12 ppl which was cold and lumpy food cold plate was hot not the food we ordered very disappointing for the price very poor we waited nearly 2hours for our food which should have had at 2 but we had it at 4 and the whole experience was very poor won't be coming back again

Really poor sadly! The queue was out to the door, my husband waited in the queue I went looking for a waitress as our table was reserved.she showed me to the table bur I had to ask how to order.i told my husband who was still waiting in queue and he ordered our meals when he finally got served.he ordered chicken and was given turkey but didn't want it returned the meal was lukewarm and to be honest tasteless.the majority of the veg was red cabbage which wasn't nice.a few carrots, broccoli and a few very small toasties.the only thing nice was the Yorkshire pud! Service poor, we left without a dessert and further drinks

There were 7 of us 'ladies who lunch once a month". The food was lovely, as usual. However, the service was nowhere near as good as last time when the very nice waitress took our orders at the table (as it should be). However, this time there was no cutlery or serviettes laid out for us and we were expected to go to the bar to place our orders, which would have needed to be done individually as we were paying separately. This isn't our idea of dining out as waiting service is key when you dine out at a restaurant and part of the enjoyment. I explained to the lady at the bar that our orders were very kindly taken at our table on our previous visit and please could they do the same on this occasion. This was done but with very little enthusiasm - and we had to wait for cutlery to be brought AFTER we'd received our meals. Desserts also had to be chased up as they had forgotten about them. Please don't let this be the norm. There is a great choice of menu (especially the smaller portions of fish etc on the last page to cater for those with smaller appetites) and the food is always excellent, so please don't let yourselves down on the service side. Thank you for reading this and we look forward to waiting staff service on our next visit.

Visited with family for a special birthday and had a lovely meal in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff were cheerful, polite and helpful. The only negative is that the bar and toilet facilities are very tired and could do with a makeover. Other than that I would definitely visit again.

To start with the positives: lovely warm welcome; service is friendly and efficient; Rev James and Marsden's Pedigree, great; food arrived in good time and was good quality and very tasty. Would definitely go back again. Good value for the money. Negatives: The presentation of the starters looked a bit bare - just a little garnish would make it look much nicer, and taste more interesting. There is the menu option to 'double your chips' on most main courses, and to me if you can easily count your chips there aren't enough to start with before the 'doubling'. Good pub food - know what you're getting, done well, no frills. Romantic dinner for two - nope! Can't be bothered to cook midweek - definitely.

I'm in Port Talbot on business and checked into Twelve Knights. The service is exceptionally good. Food tastes good. The rooms, however, could use some renovation.

Popped in here on a cold Tuesday night for some food. It was very quiet and that is probably not surprising and hence the atmosphere was pretty low key. But being quite allowed quick service at the bar and there was a good choice of beers on offer. food menu was extensive and a good variety including veggie options. Very tasty when it came ( speedily) and large portions too. Overall good pub grub.

Service was good, food was standard... Don't bother with the garlic bread though... Soggy, floppy bread that looks like it's been lightly blowtorched on top for 15 seconds 🤢
