My wife and I met old friends here for lunch yesterday. We can't praise the welcome we received and the food too highly. The lamb shank and chicken and leak pie were excellent as were the desserts. Gemma and her team ensured that this was a very special and memorable occasion. We will definitely be coming back.

Visited here today for Sunday lunch with 4 other adults, a 6 year old and a toddler. The staff were welcoming and the pub itself was lovely, unpretentious but, much to the delight of my grandson, 'decorated' with skeletons - thanks to a Halloween party the previous day. Whilst the choice of meat was limited today (to either roast beef or lamb shank) the standard of the meals surpassed expectations. The meat came with roast potatoes, 3 different veg and 2 Yorkshire puddings. Portions were very generous and everything was hot and cooked to perfection. The children were catered for with smaller portions being on offer. The puddings were also a treat not to be missed. Between us we sampled apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding and sponge pudding - all came with custard and were just right for an Autumn day. This was good old fashioned hearty cooking at its best! The cost of the food was also very reasonable - far less than we have paid in the past at other pubs but much better quality. We will certainly be returning in the future! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Have come here a few times down the years and it doesn't disappoint. Cosy interior festooned with really interesting memorabilia, including a lot of bits relating to the Grenadier Guards. Always worth looking out for a pub that serves Harvey's beers, which this does. Didn't eat today but the food is always fresh wholesome and tasty. Well worth a visit!

Best Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten in a pub. Lovely crispy potatoes and great horse radish. The chef knows what he’s doing. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and friendly locals.

I went for a dog walk from Crawley Down and stopped by this lovely country pub, the staff were very nice and dog friendly with water bowls and biscuits for our dogs. We had a couple of brilliant coffees, it’s so nice to find a local pub that’s so welcoming to dogs. We will definitely be back soon!

Went to the Red Lion yesterday afternoon with a couple of friends. This was my first draft pint for nearly four months. We were given a terrific welcome from Graham and Lorna. It was obvious that a lot of work had been done to make the pub and toilets spotlessly clean (as always). The beer was superb and it's great to see the pub up and running again. Well done Graham and Lorna. See you again soon. Cheers Tom.

It's a little cramped inside and there is a small outside area which calls itself a beer garden. It's off the main road through the village so not much passing traffic, but not much parking either. The beer is excellent and the roaring fire is welcome in winter.

The Red Lion only serves lunches. The food is excellent. Their pies and puddings (steak & kidney, lamb & mint, etc.) are a particular favourite. However, they have an extensive menu, with a specials board. Some game dishes included. A good selection of draught beers, too. A "traditional" pub, in an old buidling, with an open fire at each end of the bar. Seating is a bit tight in places and it's popular, so it's best to book.

Overall staff are very nice, beer is good, food portions are embarrassingly small, this was £18, the staff said they have used cod rather then haddock that’s why it’s smaller and thicker, it was tiny…. I’ve actually really enjoyed coming here over the last few years but probably won’t eat here again.

Amazing traditional tearooms with truly homemade food, there was a freshly baked crumble cooling on the side, wide range of delicious looking cakes but after the generous fish pie I had no space to sample. Loved it, perfect for a pre walk lunch!

A lovely place but unfortunately they forgot all three side orders which was disappointing. They did refund and apologise.
