Tudor in South Ayrshire

My husband and I ate here after a day at the races and everything we had was delicious from the big juicy prawn starter to the mixed grill and lamb chops of our mains. I finished with the pavlova and just loved it. The staff are polite and efficient which meant we didn't wait long between courses. Next time we are in Ayr we will definitely go again.

Loved this restaurant but was sad to find I was charged extra for gluten free.

We have been to the Tudor before and the experience was excellent and received a 5 star review however our visit this week was not as good The food was good but there was 30-40 minute wait between our starter and main course Staff were very reluctant to communicate with us Furthermore when ordering I requested tea for the end of the meal but it never came When I went to pay the the tea I was charged for the tea but this charge was removed when requested I used to rate The Tudor but now I am not so sure all this could have been sorted with better communication

Service was poor had to wait almost 45 mins on main course ? Been before excellent service and meal .

Excellent food. The service was fast and the staff were so polite and efficient. I ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious. There prices are great as well. Don't hesitate to go, you won't be disappointed.

My favourite place to eat in Ayr. Good quality food and good service for the price. Never had any complaints and eat there at least once a month

Nice atmosphere, food was delicious and did not feel rushed.

Chili dog - Tinned hot dog in a roll the size of my finger with a spoonful of store bought chili. Steak pie - half decent pastry with what tasted and looked like tinned beef stew Honestly food id expect from wether spoons. At least I know what I'm paying for there

Popped in for breakfast, waitresses very attentive and friendly, no much atmosphere but was quiet when we were In would recommend it

Delicious food and great service, friendly staff. Could do with a few more drink options other than lager though. Plenty of gluten free options.

Partners Mac and cheese was good my fish was absolutely rotten was late a night though staff are nice

I had lunch, but quite honestly, I can't remember the meal. The food is always good, as is the service in a long-established restaurant which is very popular.

Traditional British fair, delicious !

I've been here for a meal a few times and every time the service and staff are great. The good is excellent and good-sized portions. Always on a Sunday, we go for the Sunday Roast. As you can see, it's a plateful and very good value for money. Give this place a try, if in Ayr and looking for good food and service.

Very enjoyable Birthday Lunch with my family .

Popped in to the Tudor on the off chance we could take our dog in too, we were fine to eat outside under the canopy which was just fine. I can understand the no dog policy inside as it was absolutely beautifully fitted out, far too nice for my scruffy mutt that's just been on the beech for an hour!! Staff were very nice, and service was really quick too! The food was by far the best I've had in a long time!! The haggis was absolutely fantastic, piping hot and the taste was unreal, so spicy and full of flavour!! Next time we visit Ayr we will be back!!!

Absolutely love this place food is amazing

I visited this establishment the other day on the way back to the boat home to Northern Ireland. It came across as a down to earth restaurant. The music was the first thing we noticed - very 2000's sort of a style - different. The staff were very helpful with my friend who is Celiac (GF) from the start to the end. Very down to earth staff. Food is well priced and not expensive. I was very pleased with the chicken burger that I had and my friends enjoyed their meal also. The chicken pasta that my friend had could have had more chicken. Other than that, I'd struggle to find any issues with it. The good level of customers at the time proved to be a testament to how good this place is. A great place and one I would certainly revisit in the future. Highly recommended!

Food not as good cajun pasta a bit dry chicken in peppercorn sauce think they dropped peppercorns in and asked for extra sauce for sticky toffee sauce its now in sponge think there all pre bought desserts now. Staff were really glum and this restaurant was always packed out but I wouldn't rush back completely different dinner now went down hill.

Popped in for some lunch and had fish and chips. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Nice atmosphere and decor. A place worthy of a second visit.

Absolutely disgusted at the customer service and manner that I was treated with by managerial staff. I ordered halloumi tempura from the menu as I am a vegetarian and this was a meal with no meat as indicated on the menu. After taking a bite and being shocked by the taste, my daughter inspected and it turns out i was served chicken tempura!! I then said to the staff about this careless mistake and was met with utter ignorance and disrespect from them. I was told that it was my fault for not outline my diet requirements of being a vegetarian. I was met with absolutely no remorse or apologies on the matter and had to emphasise the severeity of this issue to even get the meal taken off the bill. If this was a person who was allergic to chicken this would have ended terribly. Since when have we had to ask for no meat in a dish which is outlined to have no meat in it on the menu??

Festive menu and food very good

Very cold in restaurant as the main door was open, should be using the other door when it's so cold outside, food was excellent as always tho.

To be honest it doesn’t look that much from the outside but the interior is unexpectedly stunning for what appears at first look to be a cafe. Very nice atmosphere and super friendly staff. We had a breakfast there (long story, they are catering for guests of Kylestrome hotel) and it was excellent. Good choice and nice quality although the pot of coffee with breakfast seemed to be very weak. The general menu looked good choice and value , would absolutely go back to try something from their own menu. I have included the choice of Kylestrome menu in photos too just to reference what we ate.

Heerlijk gegeten ter ere van de 99ste verjaardag van onze (schoon)moeder. Door de harde muziek was een normale conversatie niet te doen, vooral voor een ouder iemand met gehoorapparaten. Op ons verzoek werd de muziek wel zachter gezet.

First time visit to the Tudor. What a pleasant experience. Lovely food and welcoming attentive staff. Great prices for 2 or 3 courses.

Cam was a great server. The food and wine was great.

Found this little place whilst on holiday it was fabulous, food was excellent, service was first class, I had the best Sunday roast dinner I’ve ever had in my life and I’m 57, I took my 2 grand children with me and they made me promise we would go back before we went home and we did the second visit did not disappoint, I will definitely be back soon.

Food very good as usual. Compliments to chef.service wasn't so good tonight 1 out of 10 unfortunately. Was disappointed. Usually excellent service but tonight was disappointing. Will be a good reason for this I'm sure but will be giving it a miss for a wee while .
