TST Oriental Bar & Restaurant in Leeds

One of my favourite places to eat, the food was delicious and very friendly and helpful staff. The best service anywhere, nothing was too much and always happy to please. Will be greatly missed.

Pre-ordered for New Year’s Eve, delivery for 8pm. Rang at 5 past to see how late they were running - presumed there might be a little delay given the night. They said half an hour. Rang again at 8,50 - said it will be at least another 45 minutes. I tried to talk to them and they said it was my fault for ordering on New Year’s Eve - pre-orders are given priority and then hung up on me. Now wont answer the phone. Not sure where we are now meant to get food from to eat tonight or if this takeaway will ever turn up.

We came for the weekday menu and were very impressed, especially with the ribs and the chicken with ginger and spring onions. Would definitely return.

Don’t usually complain about food but this was just unacceptable. I placed a delivery and when the food arrived it was all cold all the £30 I just spent on food. Salt and pepper ribs were a disgrace couldn’t bare to eat them, sweet and sour sauce cold, salt and pepper chicken cold. Everything was cold. Very unhappy and unsatisfied the only decent thing was the prawn crackers, as of this I shall not eat here again and do not recommend anyone to eat here!

The food is mind blowing. Seriously the freshest food I’ve ever tasted and so Amazing. The service is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Judith and Alan you are stars and deserve your success. Jessy fantastic as always 😁

Went last night for my wife's birthday. The food was delightful as always. This was our first visit since re-opening, well over a year since our last visit. We will definitely be back soon. The food and service are always first class.

Enjoyed a quiet early evening dinner for 2 here (formerly "Zen Rendezvous"). Cleanliness and hygiene precautions were first class. Food was of the usual excellent standard, superbly presented. Staff were helpful and friendly. Hoping to return soon.

Went here for a double date on my birthday and had a great time. The staff were very friendly, there was a nice atmosphere and the service was really good. The 3 courses deal was taken by 2 of us and was great value, getting a nice mix of starters, the choice of most mains with some noodles / rice. My main came wrong (ordered King Prawn but was given chicken), however, they corrected it immediately and I ended up getting 2 meals effectively so can't complain. The drinks were probably quality, we all had multiple cocktails, and enjoyed them all. They also brought us complimentary drinks and a nice little dessert to celebrate my birthday. If you're wanting a sociable night, I would recommend this place due to the drinks and staff. The food was good, and my only comment is that the music choice was quite odd (naughties R&B hits it felt like), which we really enjoyed but didn't necessarily fit the restaurant.

Pre-ordered a meal at 4pm for 8:35pm to ensure we would have an evening meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday and New Year’s Eve. Used their own website, the order was accepted and payment taken. Then received a message at 8pm, 35 minutes before our order was due to be delivered, saying or order was cancelled and payment refunded. Leaving us trying to find somewhere that will take orders at this time of night on New Year’s Eve will be very difficult. I called and they said the restaurant is closed even though their own online ordering system is accepting orders and online platforms are saying they’re open. Appalling service and extremely disappointing.

Myself and my other half found this restaurant by chance on Wednesday after calling around 30 restaurants closer to home who were all fully booked (understandably due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme). We were given a time slot of 8.30-8.45pm but after realising it was a cocktail bar as well decided to arrive around 7.30pm. Luckily, it was no problem at all to have a drink in the bar area first so we delved into the cocktail menu and were also given the food menu to begin making our choice (which was very smart as there was soooo much to choose from). The cocktail menu is so well thought through with lots of the same ingredients being used throughout (which as former cocktail bartenders ourselves we know makes life so much easier for the bar staff) whilst still providing a huge range of choice. The food menu is extensive, providing so many options it was incredibly difficult to decide what to have as it all sounded so good. We eventually settled on a basket of Dim Sum, Wasabi Chicken and the sharing platter to start with. I then had King Prawn Chow Mein and my other half Teriyaki Lamb for mains. I can’t even explain how good the food was, you must just go to try it! If you love Chinese and Thai food as much as me, then you won’t find anywhere better in this area than this restaurant for quality and choice! The wine menu is also incredibly good for an oriental restaurant as we tend to find there isn’t usually much choice at Asian restaurants, however TST’s wine list was well structured and organised by country of origin with some great Italian choices (we’re completely biased towards Italian wine, other options were available). We were served by Judith (front of house) and Vincent (bartending) who were both absolutely lovely and obviously really cared how everything was for us, took the time to chat to us even though they were busy and couldn’t have done more to ensure we had a great meal. Whilst chatting with Judith, she mentioned the restaurant has been open for around 30 years and had a refurbishment last year. We are not surprised at all that this establishment has managed to maintain custom over 30 years, and the refurbishment to separate the place into bar and restaurant with a larger bar and high tables for cocktails pre-meal has obviously been a great idea as we weren’t the only couple choosing to drink with them before eating. There is also another bar upstairs (open Friday and Saturday nights) which we will definitely be visiting as soon as we get chance! Thank you so much for an amazing experience, lovely evening and the best oriental food I’ve eaten in a long time! We can’t wait to return.

Tonight was the first time we had a meal I hadn’t had to cook since isolating from the beginning of March. It was wonderful!!! I can’t wait to go back and eat in the restaurant after my husband came back after picking up our takeaway. and said that the precautions for Covid were so good he would feel safe taking us there for a meal in the restaurant. .
