My friends and I ordered the munchie boxes from here last week. Looking back, I should have questioned the validity of TikTok recommendations, but I was hungry! We drove from the other side of Leeds to the shop where we parted with £60, to be handed some soggy boxes. Excited for the beige delight that awaited me, I ripped the tape off and was impressed by the quality, it was plentiful. Unfortunately, as I popped the first chicken ball in my mouth, any taste that might have once been present was masked by copious amounts of salt. There was so much that it could be seen on everything, I had to stop off for a drink to wash it away. Thinking the lid must have popped off the salt shaker, we opened the other three boxes to find the same. Such a shame, I expected big things and we ended up with 4 boxes of food that the dog wouldn’t eat!

Just had a beef curry delivered tonight, and I'm afraid to say it was the worst meal I have ever tasted, it just tasted like a beef curry in syrup I have had many Chinese meals delivered to my door but this is the worst I have ever tasted. Why is it so sweet ??? I will never order again from this takeaway again that's for sure £15 absolutely wasted

Over one hour delivery unapologetic,with the offer of cold food take away replacement or discount for next time. Well, one chose replacement with yet again waiting time. By the way, agreed returning the food, as proof. Total time for getting a takeaway over 2 hours!! Guess, "no dinner in the box "from me.

Best chinese takeaway I have found in my 8 years of living in Leeds. We don't live in Kirkstalk but they still deliver to us in Armley. Never had a meal that has been disappointing. The portion sizes are generous. I have been going here for around 2 years and wouldn't go anywhere else now. Great food.

Been ordering from Dinner Box for way over 2 years now and the food is always fresh, delivered within half an hour and piping hot. Portion sizes are plentiful. Had a bit of a misunderstanding with a new delivery driver last night which resulted in us not actually having our food delivered, rang the shop and explained the circumstances and they had a fresh order delivered within 10 mins of making the phone-call and a refund to apologise for the delivery drivers mistake and poor handling of the situation. Every time we go into the shop the young man on the counter is always polite and friendly. The customer service from these guys is second to none. The best Chinese in the area by a country mile which is why we return time and time again

The sweet & sour chicken balls are scary but awesome

This has now been resolved by the restaurant, and I will be ordering from there in future. Very kind gesture, and great food. Having been a long time satisfied customer of this takeaway I ordered tonight, but tried to order a large portion of boiled rice and some roast duck and roast pork to go on top. Straightforward you might think? But the guy on the phone could not process what I was asking for as it's not on the menu in that exact format. After 5 minutes of me explaining to him what it was over and over again I gave up. He refused to allow me to speak to the owner, refused to ask the kitchen if they would do it for me, and displayed a complete and utter lack of communication and customer service skills. I cancelled the entire £40 order in the end and ordered somewhere else, who agreed to do the dish immediately. How to lose long time faithful customers in one easy lesson. I promised the guy I will never order there again. But I doubt they could care less. Whatever happened to standards?

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway in the land, try their Chinese menu and get the ho fun! Been having this for 3 years and it’s amazing. My weekly treat!

Lovely staff and plenty of food but I've been eating Chinese food for 55 years and I'm desperate to find the right place. I started at Jumbo in Leeds when originally you had to eat with chopsticks. I believe the chef moved from Jumbo to The Regent and we ate there for many years - gorgeous food. The Wonton soup was clear and the Wontons a wonderful mixture of meat. The Wontons from Dinner Box had separated from theit wrap (pasta?) and the meat just tasted beefy. The soup was brown and tasted ok but not Chinese. Again the Sweet and Sour Pork was nice and there was plenty but not the real thing. Is there a true Chinese takeaway in West Leeds?

Always lovely food, been ordering from here for years and had no issues. Always hot when arrives, beautifully cooked meals.

First time ordering on Sunday, was excited to try based on reviews, but was very disappointed. Ordered salt and pepper tofu, the tofu was hard and very chewy didn't taste fresh. Also ordered beef with broccoli, had a very strange taste after two mouthfuls I couldn't eat it! Beef slimy and broccoli overcooked. Rice was ok. Don't think will order here again.

Really nice food the curry sauce is absolutely spot on perfect and so tasty. I have only recently found this place e I live miles away from it but I don't mind the travel as the foods,so good and the prices are very reasonable. The guy on the counter is so polite and friendly and really professional 👏 10/10 from me I will be ordering tonight 👌 cheers guys xj

Lovely food checked the reviews before ordering for the first time tonight and I can report the food is great beef and mushrooms fried rice hongkong prawn noodle dish large pancake roll and some seaweed it was all tasty tasty tasty definitely be my got to Chinese from now on if this is the norm and the lad serving was very nice and polite . 👍👍👍Thanks see ya next time👍👍👍👍

Ordered from here last week and wrote a disappointing review I should of got in touch with shop first anyway after the dinner box team got in touch we gave it another go last night it was absolutely lovely the team at dinner box have been fantastic in customer service I will definitely be ordering from here again there’s no grease in this takeaway like so many in my area if you have never ordered from this place you definitely should thanks again to a lovely team

Wow had a bit of a dissappointed order last week with these guys but after a few lovely messages we ordered again just wow lovely team at dinner box they got in touch with us and we ordered again so glad we did I really do rate this place and if you do ever have a problem with them phone them dont make the mistake by giving them a bad review like I did, food was amazing thank you so much

We’ve had food from Dinner Box a few times now and I can honestly say it’s the best Chinese/Cantonese takeaway we’ve ever had. The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are generous and the food tastes amazing. They also deliver to Leeds City Centre from Kirkstall which is great for us, keep it up guys. I would attach an image of the food but it’s all been eaten!

I recommend the sweet and sour chicken balls, not the usual large balls is small battered chicken in the sauce its the best one ive had, this is now my new chinese.

Arrived on time, was warm, tasted yummy, good price, all good, would recommend :-) the only thing that was average was the rice, could have been better.

Looked for a Chinese in Leeds and this place had some decent reviews.Very big menu so choose salt and pepper chicken wings which were plentiful but being deep fried were a little greasy but still ok.Hot and sour soup was tasty and packed with meat and veg.The king prawn chow mein had loads of prawns,around 10 with lots of fresh veg and tasty noodles.Lastly I had the king po special with rice and it was really goo.Soft meat and nice veg with a spicy sauce.Bag of free prawn crackers and £19 which was really good value.Portipns generous and asked for extra ginger and no MSG which wasnt a problem.Will definately return and on the doorstep.

Had a takeaway, service was quite fast. The food was good..i ordered a king prawn fried rice which was excellent as was the sweet and sour king prawns. the portion sizes were good and there was plenty of meat.

We’d say we enjoyed this takeout but there was some need of improvement I wasn’t overwhelmed but that might be down to some of the dishes we had. The bean curd, chips and sweet and sour was tasty.

Tried many different takeaways. Dinner Box is always fresh, tasty and consistently excellent. Their sauces are great as they don’t seem to use gloopy MSG. A definite positive. I live in Bradford but if having a Chinese I will pick up from here and take home, as it is much better than my local Chinese takeaways.

The takeaway that takes away your food due to failed delivery for almost an hour...of a 2 mile radius!!! In this day and age to fail locating your address with acess to technology. ..beats me. The management changes and the chefs too ,as frequently ,as 'boiled rice'.... Dinnerbox with no good tick boxes in quality or delivery....don't waste your money in Headingley. ..plenty to choose from.

Had a takeaway,although they were busy in the shop the service was fast.The shop could do with a re furbishment but the food was good..i ordered a curry and although was a little sweet for me the portion size was good and there was plenty of meat.i will definatley go again

Hidden charge of £2 for more than 3 mile radius, wasn't told that on the website. Found a hair in the chow mein. Forgot the rice. Made me run back and forth because the driver kept moving.

Ordered chicken chow mein and special satay, but recieved both as just chicken. Satay sauce was very watery and bland and no kick to it. Would eat the starters again but not the main.

Was told the food would be delivered at 8.10 and it turned up at 9.00 so was disappointed there. It was freezing so obviously had been sat in the drivers car for however long and just didn't enjoy the food once warmed up. Usually enjoy the food here but was really disappointed tonight.

I've tried a few Chinese places around Leeds and I always end up back at Dinner Box. It does a great mixed starter and I love the food. If you spend over £10 you get free prawn crackers!

It might not look amazing from the outside of the building (I passed it many times over the years and never once considered trying food from there) and the name might be a bit non-descript but then what name would be good? I got food from there a year ago because I had seen very good reviews on another website and it is the best Chinese takeaway I have probably ever used. The quality is excellent, the quantity is great, the staff are friendly, the prices are good and the delivery or collection time is fast. Try it once.

We love Dinner Box but unfortunately they've changed their gravy recipe. It's just like Bisto or something now. It used to have something like oyster sauce in it before. We LOVED that Chinese gravy and miss it :(

Used this takeaway for the first time this evening. Encouraging to see a bit of a queue when I entered which I thought must mean it was good. It was! Gave my order and it was ready in no time. Very generous portion of special fried rice chock full of big chunks of meat and very large king prawns etc. the King Prawn curry and egg fried rice also great value. Free prawn crackers a bonus! Would definitely recommend and I will be returning soon.

We ended up having to reorder after an hour when it hadn't turned up. Dinner box said the food order had gone through but the address part had not I still received an email stating that they had received it so didn't know until we phoned to ask where it was. Don't think I'll be using this service again.

Food come quick and was really hot. In the salt and pepper chicken you get loads. The wan tons are the best I have ever had and you actually get meat in them. Food is always spot on from here.

Horrible experience with dinner box, food was too salty- rang up to explain, was told it would be sent out. Waited over another 30 mins as we had to wait 40 mins for the first order to be sent out. Rang up to ask how long it would be, explained the driver was on the way. asked which dishes would be sent out. Women said only two, when three dishes were salty and I had explained this. She started shouting and said I only said two dishes. I then asked for a refund as it had taken over an hour and a half- she started shouting at me saying if you don't like the food don't order from us and then she hung up the phone. Rang back to ask to speak to the owner- she said they were very busy and for me to call back later or go down to the takeaway and the hung up the phone. Seemed like they had taken my money and weren't bothered about correcting their mistake. After calling the third time the First Lady answered and shouted I would get a refund and to send the food back. Disgusting service from the staff. I WAS a regular customer with dinner box but after this experience I will not be returning or recommending them to anybody. I'd suggest to choose a different Chinese take away.

Food and restaurant were good. Just eat ordering was a hassle, entered order had to log in and my order was lost, had to re-enter. Selected to collect and order was put through as for delivery. Why give the option if it's going to be ignored.

Been in Leeds for almost 5 years now and haven't found a Chinese as good as Dinner Box. Great food, quick service. Particularly recommend the vegetable spring rolls, the vermicelli noodles and the egg fried rice! Maybe avoid the meat spring rolls as they weren't as tasty but the set meals are great! Perfect Chinese and not too expensive!

On the app its stated I was 2.8 miles away, when the delivery driver arrived he demanded a £1 charge as we were over 3 miles away???? Felt like a scam, food average and won't be ordering again.
