New Ko Shing in Leeds

We’ve used these guys before and the food has been quite nice. Last night we ordered food for collection. It took longer than they said but it’s Saturday so that’s understandable. Got the food home and began eating it. It was very greasy, however when we got to the ribs the ones on the bottom of the pile were covered in long hair (human) all of us have not been very well today. So it’s abit disappointing. We won’t be going back now & to be honest I’d say their prices were more expensive than other Take-aways.

Satay chicken Skewers 10/10, really good sauce. Beef with green pepper and black bean sauce, very tasty and tender meat. Chicken chow mein, great noodles. First visit for a long time and really impressed with food on this occasion. Will be returning!

Regularly get set meal for two and substitute main courses and have really enjoyed them until this week. Food tasted very bland and oyster sauce special dish with mushrooms and baby corn didn’t contain any! Just overcooked veg with mushy chicken and two prawns. Special chop suey much the same. £28 is normally a bargain but this went straight in the bin. Very disappointed

my fried duck came screaming, my well done crab was crabbing in the box the person who took the call was realy rude and the delivery driver drove through my living room window “on accident” DONT GO HERE. I suffers with trauma and more

i walked in and ordered fried crab and the restaraunt had a rat running around that they called “candy” the service was bad and she was rude, the fried crab was also not cooked and still was moving around and nipped my tongue when i bit it

Absolutely exquisite. The young girl working on the till was very kind and was very friendly. The fried rice was very delicious. The chicken curry and chips was very well seasoned and overall aesthetically pleasing. Would recommend

the “fried crab well done” was still running in the box with a bucket of grease over it when it got to me. very rude and poor service 😡

Very disappointing. 3 of us agreed that the food wasn't good at all. The pad Thai box was like soup, noodles slimes made me feel ill I didn't eat it. S&p chips were so spicy I couldn't eat. We all felt poorly the next day. Certainly declined in food quality since new owners. Shame because the owners seem so lovely.

Foods good but this place is cash only. It stopped me from ordering as I never have cash in the house. You guys need to get a card machine asap

Most of the salt and pepper chicken was so dried up it was hard and tough, we had to throw most of it away, it was seasoned by shop bought seasoning which tasted awful. The salt and pepper chips, the seasoning was awful too, from a packet rather than done home made. Really powdery. No onions, no hot peppers or chilles... just cheap seasoning. Won't ever go again.

I was used to chow me in at the now defunct Lotus in Woodlesford. I returned again and again it was so good. I will never return to the New ko shing because I’m afraid it was the opposite. To be fair, the king prawns and vegetables were nice, but they were swimming in a watery gravy not Chinese sauce. The noodles were poor quality and badly cooked. There were about 15 bean sprouts. I got oven chips. NOT acceptable.

Fantastic service , even better food , piping hot , cooked to perfection , we will DEFINITELY be returning , well done team .

We had hot and sour soup for starters was lovely...then spare ribs in ok sauce ...mmmmm..delicious 👌 then sweet and sour chicken with special fried rice...fabulousness for the taste buds.,red hot food ..Will definitely be going back...

Food is banging. Spare ribs are thick, meaty and like they used to be back in the day. The prawn toast is to die for, with a thick layer of prawns on covering the top of the bread. Portions are nice and big, the food is cooked to perfection and it’s always nice and hot when you receive your order. I personally travel 8 miles to come here and get my Chinese. It’s the best I’ve eaten from yet.

Ordered beef in oyster sauce with fried rice, everything was spot on and was one of the nicest Chinese meals I've had in a while. Also when placing my order the girl on the phone was polite explaining things due to me not having a menu on me

The best Chinese we’ve had in Leeds for some time! We’ve just moved to Rothwell having lived in the city centre for 10 years, where we’d given up trying to find a good Chinese. We thought we’d try out our new local, on the recommendation from a neighbour, and were very pleasantly surprised by New Ko Ching. Everything tasted freshly cooked and the batter was light & crispy. Lots of veg in the sauces - not just heaps of onion like most places do. The salt & pepper chicken wings were particularly good and the free prawn crackers are always a nice touch. Only negative was the dim sum - I was expecting steamed dumplings but got a mixed starter instead (prawn toast, ribs, spring rolls & onion rings). I thought they’d made a mix up so called them but they said that IS the dim sum. So I won’t be ordering that again! Overall though, very nice - we shall return!

Such a shame that a once great Chinese takeaway has fallen. This place is horrible since the takeover. I've given it a couple of tries thinking "give it the benefit of doubt" each time im so let down. Will not eat from here again.

Probé esta comida para llevar ya que los dos en Oulton no son buenos. Definitivamente visitaré de nuevo. Las chicas amables tomaron orden. Estaba ocupado. La comida es deliciosa a un precio muy razonable ya que los tamaños de las porciones son enormes. Mmm

Siempre disfruta el chino desde aquí. Muy amable, y la comida siempre ha sido encantadora. Limpio, y definitivamente ir a chino local.

Best Chinese take away i know of not the cheapest. But always good quality.

Great Chinese take away, the best of the best, the elite. The Champions League of take aways. Always a quick and quality service with a friendly vibe, the OK sauce is just sensational. It was hard to hear when there was a change of management but the transition was seamless. Hats off to new ko shing.

Really good food with quick service.

Just BAD. The food is no where as good as it used to be with the new management. Went in today to get some salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, sweet and sour chicken and some chips. The chicken was rubbery and the chips were like cardboard, the sweet and sour sauce was mild. They should have kept the salt and pepper chicken as it was before Instead of changing them into small fried chicken pieces. There was also way too much chilli with the salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips, it was like they'd spilt the chilli into the containers. Won't be going back again. Just not worth the money, or the 30 minute walk, as they don't deliver. Would have returned the food for a refund if I didn't have to walk that long to get to the takeaway. 😩

Very good chinese, never had a bad meal from here and portions are very generous too.

Since stealth handover to new owners the food quality has definitely declined. Special fried rice tasted old, not much in it. The beef curry was slimy as beef soaked in cornflour , pease under cooked . An end to an era !

The best Chinese takeaway in the country. Singapore fried rice, Kung Po chicken, OK sauce, just a flavour of the fantastic food they make.

En una recomendación, decidimos probar la caja de fideos no se puede discutir sobre el tamaño de las porciones de la caja estaba completamente rellena. Un montón de grandes porciones de diferentes carnes y camarones y con un montón de fideos de hecho, ambos pensamos que la comida carecía de proporción en verduras y salsa, lo que significa que tienes tres cuartos de la caja con fideos que mencionan poco espacio para otros ingredientes.

New owners sadly with no notice saying otherwise. Food turned vinegar-like within days, fried rice your typical lazy-fried like every other crappy chinese takeaway and they are still trying to charge the old New Ko Shing prices (They used to be great quality and worth the price). They don't even admit to being under new ownership/chefs etc if you ask them despite knowing the previous owners for 20 years before hand. Will see them on Just Eat before long as locals no longer seem to go (its a ghost town) now.

Stopped going since under new management recently. Food is slowly going down hill. Shame because this was the best Chinese takeaway around, it was restaurant quality, and now everything is starting to taste of vinegar. We miss Winson and Sarah!

Menu looked promising and we placed our order for our families favourites, salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper prawns, noodles, chips, crispy beef, rice and I thought I'd try the prawn topped duck breast which is priced at the top end for a takeaway meal. All food unwrapped (More wrapping paper than Christmas day) and we all tuck in. First impressions it all looks lovely and the portion sizes are good. Unfortunately now we find the main problem with the food. The salt and pepper dished are so dry with hardly any onions or chillies to make the dish a little palatable and they are also overcooked. My main the prawn topped duck breast was a dry as an old boot, way overcooked and tough to chew. Such a shame as we spend £30+ a week on our Saturday evening meal and hoped this would be our new weekly takeaway. I am willing to try again one more time but my wife is less forgiving, so we shall see.

I can't compliment this takeaway enough. We've been going for years and never had a bad experience here. A family run business who are really friendly. Good quality food at a reasonable price. Parking can be a bit of a problem as there is another takeaway next door and a convenience store next door to that. If only they did delivery but then that would probably put prices up.

Top quality grub. Never had a bad meal from here. Even treated friends from out of town who've been impressed by the fare.

I travel all the way from Methley to Rothwell when I want a Chinese just to get New KO Shing. It says a lot about how good there food is when they are confident enough not to deliver because they know they'll still get custom. The meat tastes of a high quality and all the sauces and flavours in their food is like restaurant quality. I never go anywhere else now. The price is also really good for the quality.

The food here is always good, and it's very reasonably priced. We regularly order from here, the staff are very friendly and always give our kids extra prawn crackers.
