Food took 1hour and 20 mins to arrive and was lukewarm on arrival, no surprise there then. food was mediocre at best but the chicken fried noodles in sauce wasn’t that great. Will not order again.

Absolutely fantastic food here, very very nice, far superior to New Ho Gardens. Quick delivery too.

Whilst filling up my car with diesel over the road at Shell garage, I could smell the delicious food being cooked. It persuaded me to order takeout. I ordered, prawn curry, beef curry, mixed starter, 2 x seaweed and chips. The curry was spicier than Cherry Tree which I liked, but the curry was not as a thick. The seaweed was on the side of being overdone. The service was fast. Very cold in the waiting area and very noisy, lots of shouting from the back kitchen.

Nice food at affordable price served quickly.

Fried pork dumplings with chinese vinegar always perfect 5 to a portion for £4. Salt and pepper chicken bites huge portion for just £5. Beef fried noodles perfectly seasoned and no veg as requested. Beef in black pepper sauce well seasoned and balanced really nice cut of beef used for both beef dishes. Very happy thank you!

Usually the owner is nice but whenever I get served by the young girl she doesn’t even say thank you after payment. Very rude so you lost my custom. Will not be returning. After she takes payment change will be strung across the counter followed by complete silence. There isn’t even an initial hello after entering the store. The first time she did this I put it down to have a bad day but today it happened again so I will not be coming back.

Collected a beef curry last night was like cement it was that thick & the girl at the counter needs to learn to smile & greet customers obviously wnt b using again.

I've ordered from Jade Unicorn for the first time earlier this month and I enjoyed both the humour of the sales person and the food. I particularly liked the chicken balls, big and juicy! For under £6 a main this place provides value for taste :) Unfortunately there is no step free access to the premises and parking should be done at Shell across the road. Cash only. Update: I have ordered a couple more times from Jade and so far there has not been a meal I didn't like. Staff is always really friendly and will indeed bring food to you without any fuss :). Very glad to see them back up and running post-lockdown.

Order from here for collection a few times a month. Today was 50p short and was refused my order. Considering the current climate taking cash only is risky for everyone involved, and I'm a regular customer for the sake of 50p I could have been let off this once. BAD customer service.

Como familia, obtuvimos una comida para llevar largamente esperada durante el cierre desde aquí, ¡la primera en 10 semanas! Nos sentimos completamente seguros cuando se cumplieron las pautas de distanciamiento social. La comida era deliciosa. ¡Comimos como reyes! Nos deleitamos con pollo agridulce, pollo y anacardos, varios platos de arroz frito con pollo y una variedad de entrantes que incluyen galletas de gambas, rollitos de primavera y alitas de pollo con sal y pimienta. En general, fue una experiencia deliciosa.

Buena comida china en general, típica de lo que encontraría en comida para llevar china decente. Sin embargo, no ofrecen nada enormemente diferente a todos los demás, por eso son 4 estrellas y no 5.

Had takeout from Jade Unicorn a number of times and I am always impressed with the quality of the food. Never overly greasy, which is sometimes the case elsewhere and also the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Wide range, friendly staff and been open for years (always a good sign in a Chinese I find)

The Jade Unicorn best chinese takeaway had in a long time 🦄 (had beef in ok sauce with soft noodles and seaweed) Royally delicious and pleasantly friendly delivery food not too satly like my previous takeaway sakura which doesn’t do delivery to Adel even though its a 2.6 mile away from where I live and I had been a good customer since November 2013. but most of all the quality has gone downhill especially reading one very recent review that there were bugs in the food. So hence had a gander and found Jade Unicorn 🦄 so glad had a try highly recommended this gem. 💎

Pedí algo de comida el domingo y un hombre guapo y mixto me entregó la comida, él era educado y educado, también llegó muy rápido. Y la comida estaba increíblemente caliente y muy agradable. Sin duda volvería a comer aquí de nuevo?

Pretty great. Quick and tasty food. Char sui noodles and chicken balls were as good as I have eaten elsewhere. Both dishes cost less than a tenner and I got free prawn crackers. Will be going back.

Best chinese takeaway in Horsforth, very healthy as well

La comida no estaba tan mal, después de haber probado muchos lugares en todo el país, diría que es promedio. El servicio fue bastante rápido, no puedo responder por la entrega, ya que recogí mi pedido, el establecimiento en sí parece bastante anticuado y realmente no hay mucho estacionamiento disponible si los cobra. Definitivamente recomendaría darle una oportunidad.

I suspect new owners, certainly new front of house and chef. Been coming here for nearly thirty years, but after our last takeaway - no more. Such a shame the quality is poor now.

Horrible got special curry the prawns were cold Obviously using frozen

45 minute wait kids running all over place owners screaming at one another in the back kitchen it was bedlam.. Portions same price half the size £1.70 for a large spring roll turned out to be the size of a cigar and full of bean sprouts and a quarter of the quality lumpy curry sauce.No prawn crackers they had run out but had charged me for them. While I was there 4 people got tired of waiting and demanded their money back. We have gone there for years but we wont be back shame really it was a little gem.

As good as it gets for a traditional chinese takeaway

Generous portions, very reasonable prices, great food with free prawn crackers for larger orders. I love their special fried rice.

Lovely food, best in the area by far

Jade unicorn is usually our go to Chinese in horsforth! Normally great, I tend to go for crispy schezuan beef, which despite not being on the menu, they are usually very accommodating and make it anyway. Unfortunately we ordered food this Saturday and sadly it’s was clap cold, 25 mins late and the dishes were totally wrong. Real shame and possibly won’t return.

Jade unicorn is my local Chinese, and I will always order from here if I’m eating in and I fancy a Chinese. The menu has all different meat options and even vegetarian dishes, the collection time is so quick, they usually have your order ready in 15 minutes. The food is all made fresh and always tastes nice. The staff are really friendly too, not sure you can pay on Card so make sure you have cash I’ve forgot a few times and had to run over to the petrol station! If you order atleast two mains you always get free spring rolls and prawn crackers - which is always an added bonus if like loads of food like me :-D

Lovely food every time and reasonably priced. Every time we phone a order through its always ready when we collect. Collection only and they also only accept cash! There's a cash machine at the garage across the road though.

Always good food, friendly people usually ready gfor pick up on time & sometimes free prawn crackers ☺. Yes you have to collect but it ain't that far. Defo recommend.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and Cantonese style sweet and sour tofu and the chicken was salty and the tofu was inedible - can only be described as deep fried sacks of white slippery mush! This was recommended as opposed to having it in balls with sauce separate. Only good thing was the chips and the large portions. Most of it went in the bin!

Jade Unicorn is a little piece of heaven. The pancake rolls are home made and are absolutely delicious. I know of no other take-away that serves them in this area.They will remove unwanted items from their curry's and are always welcoming

I go out of my way to use this take-a-way which shows how good it is. I park the in the corner of the petrol station and just nip across the road.

Best chinese in Horsforth! They don't deliver, but the food is worth driving to collect. Nothing greasy, all fresh and often special dishes on the menu.

Good selection and Excellent food at a good price. Parking limited due to main road but worth the walk.

We had a great take-a-way on Saturday, 2 duck dishes, one sweet and sour Cantonese chicken and I had garlic and chilli seafood. We received loads of prawn crackers and 4 dim sums free. Excellent value for money and very nicely cooked food. Thank you

Used these guys for quite a few occasions now. They have always quick and the food is always good. Friendly service, quick service, nothing too much to grumble about with them.

Waited 20 minutes for what turned out to be chewy, tasteless duck and none too amazing battered prawns. We went here once beofre, maybe a year ago and weren't blownaway. Now it's 0 out of 2 so no moreJade Unicorning for me. Back to Hong Kong Supercook where they smile, ship it out in 10 mins and it tastes great.
