The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and even the deep fried items weren't oily. They had some good set menu options, but we opted to go à la carte. I'll definitely be back soon!

Delicious takeaway. We ordered in person and the staff were great and gave us some prawn crackers while we waited. Everything was delicious and really well cooked - especially the crispy duck and siu Mai buns. Honestly the best Chinese takeaway I've had in years. Decent prices too

The food here is exceptional and I loved every single thing I ate. I had sweet and sour chicken, beef with green peppers and black bean sauce and steamed chicken dumplings. There were all fantastic. The service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Thanks guy

It's a place you could easily walk by and hardly notice. I'm so glad we found it. Visited on a Monday. All the other restaurants seem to be closed on Mondays so hence we give it a try. Service efficient, polite and friendly. Can’t fault it. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere despite it being almost full. Prices reasonable - a main for under a tenner in London is something to write home about. And last but not least - the food! Absolutely delicious. There were four of us. We all had a difference main. The taste, the quantity, the freshness and the texture were to perfection. Really enjoyed eating here. Well done TSE!

The food was amazing, good amount of spice. Cups were filled to the brim with our drinks and we were offered prawn crackers while waiting for the food. Service was stunning, staff was very sweet and nice to communicate with, adding to the relaxing environment. Theres also a small indoor pond-like feature with 3 goldfish, fun to watch while waiting to be seated. At the end we were given hot wipes to clean off any oil on our hands, 10/10

Really delicious food, the sweet chilli sauce was home made, and very tasty. A hidden gem and lovely staff, especially Helen who waited on our table. And the char Sui steamed dumplings/buns were a real treat

The food is always consistently good whether you dine in or get take away. Always tastes high quality, not greasy and full of flavour. Will continue to be my go to Chinese restaurant.

Amazing food from appetizers to main plate! One of the best home made siomai i had here in london. We ordered soft shell crab, wonton soup, cantonese duck, roast pork and siomai. All amazing! 10 stars!

Deceptively amazing don’t be fooled by quiet restaurant - always dead…but we get take away, very authentic Szechuan dishes, plus house classics are always perfect. Light, fresh, fragrant and generous. Can’t recommend higher and the staff remember everyone who comes in, remember your order, although chat to staff they can recommend interesting alternative dishes. We always dine in for CNY and it’s great fun. ✌️🫰✌️🫰

Not great. Everything we ordered they got wrong. Eventually they got it right. Food was ok. Mixed seafood curry did not have much seafood.

We have just received our take away which took 1 hour 45 minutes to arrive. Both our soup orders are wrong. My Tom Yum tastes nothing like what I have ordered previously and my husband ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup and got a badly flavoured dumpling soup. When we phoned after waiting for an hour and 15 minutes, we asked how they would compensate us and they offered a free drink. Poor. Will now not very ordering from there again despite having ordered there for a number of years. We recently tried 148 in East Dulwich which was much better quality and will now be going there.

I can’t comment on the food, as it has yet to arrive. I would describe the delivery as so slow, it’s glacial.

Waiting 2 and a half hours for food which never came. Every time we asked we were told it would be five minutes, after 2 and a half hours we just paid for what we had eaten and left. Wouldn’t recommend

It's such a beautiful restaurant with good service. The decor makes you feel like you could be in china. The food and drinks came quickly and was very nice, I even got a free rose for valentines day which was lovely. Highly recommended

Great food and great value for money - economic wine too. Well worth the journey from Beckenham. A nice secondary bonus was great chili oil, made by the chef - next time I'll ask for it early, in time for the dumplings... Loved it complementing my Singapore fried ho fun noodles..

My go to Chinese takeaway. Always great quality - never a disappointment

I put in an order directly with the restaurant at 5pm and asked for my food to come at 8pm. At 8.20 we called to find out when our food would come and they said “oh there’s a queue, it will be another hour”. They wouldn’t bump us up the list despite the 3 hours notice and obviously didn’t want to keep our order so after ages wait on the phone and 3 attempts they gave me a refund. They kept just saying it was due to bad management in the kitchen. I think it is probably because they prioritise delivery companies over locals who want to help local businesses directly. They obviously don’t need our business and don’t care about ruining an evening for someone. So we won’t be using them.

Consistently delicious takeaway

Maybe it's a new chef or some recipes have changed but not as good as it used to be. I have used it's delivery service for about 20 years and it is still my go to Chinese

We have been dining at this restaurant for a number of years now. I understand it has changed ownership about a year ago. It was good prior to change of ownership, but it's now excellent under the new structure. It's essentially West End Quality food right here in Forest Hill! It's not cheap, but the quality, taste and friendly service is second to none! I'd highly recommend it!

A Chinese gem in Forest hill Lot of positive vibes in this place. We had the Crispy duck and pancake, the dim sum, the Crab with ginger and spring onions and the sizzling prawns with red peppers. The food was fresh and delicious, the services was 5 stars and nothing was too much for the lovely ladies in the restaurant, as it was my birthday we were offered a glass of wine and jasmine tea on the house. Can definitely recommend and will go again. Thanks a million for spoiling me on my birthday

Always welcoming, friendly staff with great food. Authentic and fresh stuff. Can't wait to be able to dine in again, but for now will make do with delivery! Squid with peppercorn salt, Ma po tofu and Stir fried beef with beans are my personal favorites.

The atmosphere is charming. The choice of interior design is high class.. warm and welcoming surroundings. Service was brilliant, quick and polite waitresses and the choice of food is lovely and tastes even better! A perfect example of how it should be.

placed a small order for delivery last week and it was absolutely pleasant! i ordered crispy aromatic duck along with special fried rice and some squid and mixed veg. food was remarkably fresh and delicious, not to mention the fast delivery. definitely ordering from tse's again, i'd recommend this place to anyone

The food was clearly fresh and prepared with clean oil. Portion sizes appropriate and prices fair enough. Prawns were succulent and juicy also.

23 Dec - 3rd Take away - excellent food again - a very special place - had wan Ton soup, Chilli Garlic chicken in Black bean sauce. Excellent .. Excellent Chinese Meal - Collected from the restaurant. Oil use was limited as well as salt quantities. Ordered two soups, Ho Fun noodles with beef, egg fried rice and sweet and sour prawns. Excellent flavours, good portions and appropriate for the price. All round a very good find. Would recommend collection rather than delivery.

Not been here since we moved abroad 14yrs ago. It was on our bucket list for our return. This place has not changed and the food tonight was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and the Jasmine Tea at the end capped off a perfect evening. £22.90 all you can eat, always a winner, thanks for a great evening 😊

We always make a pre Xmas booking at TSE every year. Usually ranging from a group of 7 people to 15. This year we had a group of 8. And the food was excellent as usual with a friendly staff and relaxing envirionment. I wouldn't chose anywhere else.

Disgusting. An utter waste of money.

Singapore fried noodles were rubbery and stale. Hardly any meat and like chewing rubber bands.

I ordered only vegetables fried rice the vegetables where rotten and rice literally had sand and dirt mixed with vegetables scheshuan vegetables where rotten The spring rolls where detestable AND ROTTEN TOO This restaurant is digusting with rice containing lots of sand and dirt customer service was so poor they had the audacity to make me bring back the food Should just close their doors the chef lacks the sense to even wash vegetables and using sauce so old that it tasted like rancid vinegar if the vegetables where ROTTEN then I don’t want to imagine what the real meat is like when it’s not covered in all this synthetic sauce food hygiene has always been a problem in Chinese restaurants

I’m vegetarian the menu said baked rice with lotus leaf. I got baked rice with pork, chicken and lord knows what other types of meat. I made my order using UberEats , so I called the restaurant up lady in the phone said I should have said no meat, I told her if the food said it contained meat then I wouldn’t have ordered it so really the menus are wrong. She said she can’t help me and hung up the phone. I also ordered vegetarian spring rolls which were burn and mushy. Will never order here again and UberEats gonna have to give me my money back 😡😤 they do not deserve the one star that I have to give to write this review!

I don't know how's the food but I'm not gonna taste it. I went a Sunday, I truly needed the toilet, the restaurant was empty and they didn't allow me to use it

Nice, often quiet, Chinese. The actual restaurant seems overlooked by many in forest hill but the food is good, the ambiance ok and the service fine. Seems to do more delivery than eat in but that is never allowed to interfere with the experience for diners on the premises.

Awful service! Told an hour for delivery, at an hour and a half called the restaurant, to be told the driver wasn't even back yet to collect my order. I asked if there was some sort of discount they could apply, and told, in no certain terms- no. The hostess was extremely rude, and unapologetic. I understand that delivery can be tough at times, but I am horrified by the way my complaint was handled. As I'm now left having to order something different, from somewhere else, and endure another hour of waiting for food.

Absolutely VILE! I found old hard chewing gum in my food! Reported it to waitress and all she said was 'uh oh'. She then proceeded to serve our main course and gave us a spoon caked with old food. The most shocking thing about this whole experience is that the two waitresses seemed to find it amusing. Food standards must really investigate this restaurant.

Special deal was good and the food came out fairly fast. Waitress insisted we paid the 10% discretionary charge which didn't make sense and tried to lie about having to say you didn't want to pay at the beginning.

Lovely. Friendly staff and beautiful food, particularly the Schezuan lamb (look out for the whole dried chillies!!) and the Aubergine with garlic.

Food is average. Pad Thai is made cheaply with minimal seasoning even though it costs 8 quid. The squid meals are a bit fishy in smell which suggests that they are a bit off.

I always loved Tse's food but this time.... they must changed their chef...?.. Ordered 2 pad thai and got them delivered swiftly. Only they were not pad thai; those were made with large thick noodles (!!) and none of the pad thai seasoning, very blant it did not taste of anything. As for the starters, the crispy sea weed was excellent but the sweetcorn soup less than average. Very disapointed.

The food at Tse is out of this world! Aamzing atmosphere. Good honest food cook to perfection. On par with the oriental restuarants you find in the west end but for a fraction of the price!! C'mon!! I thank my friends for recommending this hidden treasure!!

Really disappointed with my meal from here, I had char sui pork and king prawn chow mein. The pork was cooked to within a inch of it's life, really dry and the the prawns were really mushy, not suggesting they were very fresh. I have lived in Forest Hill for almost three years and after a few people raved about this place I thought it would be good, disappointed and really eager to find a place that really knows how to cook decent Chinese.

Ordered a takeaway which came late and they over charged us by a significant amount.

I've tried a lot of Chinese restaurants in South Eat London and Tses is without a doubt the best. Friendly attentive staff, who really look after you. The food is great, full of flavour without that artificial flavour you get with most Chinese food. Cooked fresh with fresh ingredients - and I love the fish tank!
