The staff absolutely fantastic, food was amazing best I’ve ever had, service was excellent restaurant and toilets spotless we haven’t been for a very long time and will definitely be back in September for a birthday meal. Thank you all keep doing what your doing amazing staff. X

I have eaten at the Côte Brasserie Blackheath on numerous occasions. Today’s experience was my final visit. The server was unfriendly and seemed to wait on our table begrudgingly. Usually, when you purchase a bottle of wine at a restaurant, your server refills your empty glass. This never occurred. Once our food arrived, there were no periodic visits to see if everything was okay. , which it wasn’t. My starter of salade au bacon was very tasteful, but my main course of baked ratatouille was bland and unappetising. The manager reduced the final bill because I complained about the non-existent service and inedible main course.

a single eclair and two drinks shouldn’t be £20... wait staff were standoffish and the eclair tasted like lemon cream between stale pastry. The only way I can describe is overpriced.

Two of us walked in around 2pm on Sunday. We were seated immediately and the staff were friendly but the service was painfully slow and food below average and expensive for what it was. Although it was busy, the staff never warned us the wait for food was over an hour and we had to ask for updates. The table next to us got seated over 30 mins later than us and were served before us, which was annoying. Our drinks took 25 mins to arrive and we waited more than half an hour for a starter of baked camembert "with baguette". The camembert was tiny and came with 3 thin slices of baguette and a small tomato garnish - a rip off and not really enough for sharing. We waited another hour for our mains of two salads with fries. The portions were tiny and done poorly - 3 very wilted lettuce leaves and overcooked tuna and dry eggs on the Niçoise, overcooked fries. We asked for ketchup and more water which never came, and we couldn't catch anyone's eye to ask again. As one of the only lunch places in Blackheath, I would have expected better service and better food. It was busy, and a large restaurant, but why not have more staff on?!

The food is good here and I enjoy coming here on occasion. A nice atmosphere in a nice part of town.

Great afternoon with great food staff were friendly and attentive

I had an exceptional experience at Blackheath Côte Brasserie, part of the Côte Brasserie company. Despite being a chain, this location feels like an independent business with staff who genuinely care for their customers. Although my meat was initially overcooked, the team promptly and generously resolved the issue, offering a discount as an apology. The food was exquisite, and I felt truly welcomed and valued. The chef is outstanding, and the waitstaff is very well-trained. Highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience!

I ordered maison salad for £14 and it was such a disappointment. Chicken looked old. Boiled egg as was dry. Absolutely not worth the money

Our first time here for brunch after walking the dogs on the heath. We went for the full English offer which included a hot and cold drink at £14, go good value. The service was acceptable but could have been a little more attentive. The food however, we have to rate below average for the following reasons; toast only cooked on one side, mushrooms cold and tasteless, bacon rashers were under cooked. The worst thing was the coffee, which was so weak, almost like a hot cup of milk, and cold. When we told the front of house staff, they just simply say they would informed the kitchen staff. What they should have done is offered to re make them. Not great customer service.

Service and staff are always lovely, they're so accommodating and friendly from the moment you walk in! There's a great atmosphere, likely cos the staff are so hospitable and the food, wine and cocktails are absolutely amazing 😋 live music every other Wednesday with a singer and guitarist, like the line up on their list was from my Spotify lol

Lovely SYLVIA moved us to a more suitable location to be nearer to the disabled toilet. She was sparkly and friendly, very accommodating and helpful. A very relaxed, enjoyable evening with lovely hot food. Thank you Sylvia.

One of the breakfast I ever had

We had the special offer £21 breakfast, champagne and hot drink. Breakfast's: The French breakfast was served with 3 "chunks" of very-over-cooked and dry-looking black pudding. The full breakfast was nice although I thought it was small for the price paid.

I think bread should be served for free, especially for French food.

Shocking. Ordered Granola with mixed berries, yoghurt and honey. Looked like a 7 year old kid assembled it - and tasted like it. Added a croissant. Zapped in a microwave seconds before delivered to our table. Limp and poor quality. To add to the pantomime performance, we waiting almost twenty-five minutes for the order to arrive. There were four of us in the restaurant. Seriously, don't bother.

Excellent food and service. Even though we were only visiting the area to celebrate a big event…the staff kept a window seat for us and provided a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Great food. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend this friendly place.

Warning ⚠️ to people who want to eat at COTE restaurant please 🙏 don’t . As being 👩‍🍳 my self !!!!!! I’ve just had diner there and it was awful and embarrassing, I’ve had steak and it was horrible, I wouldn't feed even to my dog because it was so hard to chew, it felt like the stake it’s just come out off a ice age and straight in microwave, and the taste disgusting , it felt like I’m chewing on the plastic , and the chips 🍟 they serve wouuuuu horrible and disgusting taste, u can taste the cheap oil they have b cooking, they so small and rock hard , plus they charge a lot for it , believe me u can get better and million times, from McDonald’s . I still smell the oil from the chips and i feel unwell after I dine there , I need it to go,to get a fizzy drink after that trying to make my self feeling better. And the staff so unprofessional just so unwelcome . People please don’t be fooled by the look off it and by the area where they are , u will b the most disappointed person and u will b feeling unwell soon after u eat . I have all ready put a complaining to the health and safety department, and food inspectors. And I’m 100000% sure about the good reviews they have, they are fake reviews, from people and friends they know it’s a scam. Shame , horrible, disgusting, disappointed,

On the outside it looks busy and a popular place to go and dine, which is what drew myself and my partner to want to try this restaurant. On entering the restaurant we did not get a warm and welcoming feeling. When seated, we were placed at a table where we were practically sitting on top of another couple who were next to us. We asked to move, so that there was a bit more room and got a rude response. We place our orders and once we received our food, we were quite disappointed as for what we were paying, the food did not match the quantity or the quality. We had ordered steak and chips and both were of poor quality. We were not asked how every thing was and then when we asked for the bill, again the service was not great and the bill was dumped onto our table. Upon looking at the receipt, a service charge was as placed on top of what we needed to pay. There was no way we were paying service charge for the poor quality service that we received.

Always love a côte for a well priced steak frites but was really disappointed by their apparently new sodas. I was expecting something along the lines of a San Pellegrino lemonade at the £4.75 price point, which would still be a bit expensive. Instead, I got soda water with two twigs of mint and a raspberry. That’s just way too expensive for a small glass of soda water.

Not the best of evening. My onion soup was served cold in a hot bowl, the soup was taken away and returned Hot after 10mins. My partner ask for a dessert which came with a coffee, sadly the coffee was cold. Also my partner booked our table on line which came with 2 free cocktails. When we checked our bill we we were being CHARGED for the drinks .the waiter change our bill . Managers need to check everything so this doesn't happen again

Our go to restaurant as they always have a good selection including fir our friend with allergies Had to ask for complimentary cocktails to be taken off the bill and unfortunately the fruit bowl we were offered for one of out desserts couldn't happen but otherwise we all enjoyed our food and drinks and there was only some waiting; think we were served by every member of staff. We had the spring menu which was unusual but all very tasty

Had a very enjoyable lunch with family and we were very well looked after - really lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff, especially Sylvia who was so courteous and made us feel so welcome- nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

The food was ok . The service was brilliant. They ran out of wine glasses and gave us brandy glasses! It was sooooo noisy but it was Saturday night. Had a nice evening but probably wouldn't go back.

Great experiece as always. I am a regular at Cote and I always have a great experience. The food is lovely and the staff too. Last time we visited for my mum's birthday and we asked them for a surprise birthday dessert and they very kindly brought a chocolate fondant with a birthday candle, singing the birthday song to our mum. What was the best of all of this, is that they offered that on the house and did not charge us. Very very happy with everything!

We had the weekend shared meat platter. The steak was sumptuous melt in your mouth, the pork belly had the most delicious crackling that did not break your teeth and the chicken was tasty. Pricing is incredibly reasonable and high quality of food. Service was very good and Blackheath is a great setting.

Our waiter was very friendly and efficient but without coming back too much to the table. He asked us how the meal was and if we needed anything further, which was much appreciated. We both had the Sunday a la Cote - the food was delicious and well cooked. The meats were succulent and not over cooked and the vegetables were perfectly al dente. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and its location in Blackheath overlooking the Green. We often go to Cotes (this is our third restaurant having visited restaurants in Brighton and Haywards Heath) and would definitely come back again in the future.

Great week day menu. Excellent service, good location. Very good management and customer service, for example a glass of champagne is offered for a birthday. Not so keen on the weekend menu, for example, no chocolate mousse at the weekend 😕 The food is generally excellent but occasionally too salty or a bit plain. But on the whole, we like this restaurant very much. Very well done to the team!

Beautiful food but such small portions! I already spent £70 and was still hungry! Such a shame because if there were a few more chips & veg it would be alot better.

A nice atmosphere, and great staff! Unfortunately the food was a little disappointing! The calamari for the children’s menu came with a batter that was quite spicy (this should be noted on the menu) My salad was absolutely flooded in dressing, I couldn’t finish my meal as it was becoming sickly to eat! Either less dressing, or a pot on the side for people to add themselves. The chicken burger for the children’s menu was nice, good portion.

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience here via Deliveroo. We ordered 5 dishes and could only eat 3. First the order arrived super late. Then the dish we had wanted the most was missing completely from the order. The dishes we did receive were shockingly cold. Like, not room temperature, but actually COLD which also made the burger inedible because, really, there is no good way to re-heat a completely cold burger without overcooking and ruining it. So only 2 of the main dishes were salvageable after having to reheat them both in the oven. However these, like everything, were comically small portions, especially considering the prices. A £20 beef bourguignon, £18 stew and £16 burger are basically the size of an appetiser. The second photo attached is the container they come in next to a dinner and side plate for comparison. I mean it's not even as big as the side plate. The chocolate fondant dessert was the only thing that still tasted really nice after reheating, but it was of course super tiny as well - the size of a mini muffin, so we basically spent £80 for 3 yummy bites of dessert.

Absolutely love coming to this branch! I was served by Kornelia and she did her utmost best to provide a lovely experience and always served us with a smile! I’ll always continue to visit this branch with my party!

What has happened? Breton fish stew? No calamari, no parsley, no apparent garlic but loads of potato?! Bitterly disappointed that this amazing dish has been cheapened to a very obvious level. I can accept smaller portions but please don't RUIN a dish by being so blatantly CHEAP!

Our brunch here was a little disappointing. Dirty menus to start with. The avocado and eggs on toast was such a stingey portion, the eggs cost extra as well in which case the original dish would be miniscule - not worth the price. Luckily the french toast was up to scratch and very tasty but wouldn't do brunch here again.

Been there before and its a nice restaurant but really cannot recommend the burger. Was well overcooked but pretty sure it wouldn't have tasted any better regardless.

Mash potato was cold. Service was ok not great.

The vegan mushroom bourginon was absolutely incredible. I wanted to double check that it wasn’t actually meat. Very, very impressive dish. The vegan chocolate torte for dessert was also absolutely divine. Beautiful dark chocolate texture with a cakey layer rather than biscuit.

Been to many of thecotes branches. The food is always good and reasonably priced. The service is good.

Crap. 2 years ago I came here and had one of the best dinners ever. Fillet steak was Devine. Last night Very disappointed. A few in our party had the French onion soup. It’s just gravy and onions. Waited 2.5hrs for mains. 10 of us. Every single item was cold. 2 steaks were raw. We did complain and was offered drink or desert on the house. Table next to us walked out as all their food was cold. Very disappointed at won’t go back.

Unfortunately I found that everything was just ok. Nothing had a wow about it. The tables are too close together so conversation is limited/guarded. As the waiter served the next table he couldn't help it but he was invading our space! There was no warm sincere greeting when entering. The food was not hot as it ought be! I shall not be returning!

One of our regular haunts in Blackheath. On the whole a great place to but service can sometimes be a little slow.

Good food. Affordably priced for what you get. Service is also good - sufficiently attentive, but not intrusive. Have eaten here several times as I live locally. I think of this restaurant as a safe bet for a satisfying and comfortable meal. Have seen the negative reviews, and believe they could happen - as even the best restaurants have off days, but I have not experienced any. My experiences here have always been good, which is why I keep coming back. I recommend this restaurant (and a bunch of others) when people ask me “where is good to eat in Blackheath?” Keep up the good work Côte. You are a great local restaurant.

The restaurant ran out of fries. This had a big impact on the number of dishes available for me to choose; quite a significant amount of their meals come with chips. This alerted me to the fact that their meals were not freshly prepared but instead came in a packet, which is then shoved into an oven. Why their chef couldn't peel and slice up a few potatoes to place in the oven, astounds me. I was offered no discount or complimentary item, e.g., free coffee or money off of the final bill for the inconvenience. Cote has gone downhill.

We are new to the area and tried Cote for a Sunday lunch. The waitress was very nice. Food was great and prices are not too high

Went for a dinner date with my boyfriend. Ordered calamari, french onion soup, steak tartare and the ribeye. The food was great, but only the onion soup was too spicy. Also the béarnaise sauce for the steak was weirdly spicy… For dessert we had the apple tartin and it was amazing. Great atmosphere!

Came here on Boxing Day with my partner for breakfast. Unfortunately the food came almost 40 mins after ordering, which to me is borderline unacceptable for breakfast. I ordered the full English - it was ok. It is supposed to come with rosemary potatoes but I could not taste/see/smell any rosemary which was a shame. Scrambled eggs were a tiny bit overcooked for my liking, but perhaps I should have specified I prefer it slightly under. My partner did like the croque madame. Bonus point for our waiter who was attentive and friendly, otherwise I probably would have given this visit 2 stars. Unlikely to come here again.

We eat at the Blackheath Cote every Christmas Eve and it never fails to impress. Lovely food, good service and a very comfortable atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and thanks.

Cote has absolutely second-to-none service and food. Every single time my husband and I go to Cote Blackheath we have an excellent time! Thank you Cote for everything you've done for us!

Although the food was very nice the waitress made me order an extra salad even though it came with the meal . So had to leave it as I really didn't need an extra one. Thought she was asking what salad I wanted which was already included in the meal.

We spent a wonderful evening at the Cote. We ordered dishes from the Christmas menu, everything tasted delicious. The service was excellent, professional, our waitress made sure our glasses were full all the time. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back.

Myself and my wife have used Cote several times and always been satisfied. Unfortunately after we came out my wife told me why she hadn't finished her poached eggs as they were undercooked by some measure. I would also say the muffins were a little tough. We frequent Cote near Tower Bridge at least a minimum of once a month and have always been pleased . Blackheath is off the list as its not up to the same cooking standard even the the staff a quite friendly. Shame really.

Main course arrived after 1 hour 15 minutes and 2 out of the 4 from our table received completely raw Turkey. Even if it was cooked it would have been very average. Staff did their best to make up for it by giving us replacement steaks and not charging for the mains. How does something like this happen in a professional restaurant kitchen.

Wanted to try the restaurant for the first time as I live in the area for a while and hadn't been there yet. The main reason to choose Cote was the menu, given the French food theme stands out from other restaurants in the area and it didn't disappoint me at all. Delicious food, welcoming staff plus the wine selection is quite interesting - I don't remember seeing those labels anywhere else. Thanks

Had a lovely lunch with the wife. Not massive portions but then again portion size is why I'm over weigh lol. Food fresh and tasty and staff were very attentiive even when busy. Made me a cocktail off menu so couldn't ask for more. Would go again.

Had My Birthday dinner here, amazing place, food was amazing however as it is a high end restaurant the prices I would say are rather reasonable. If you are planning to have a dinner I would recommend calling up and reserving as a lot of people do eat here. One of the best high end restaurants near me! Would definitely recommend.

Took my Partner out for a meal on Saturday 28th October. Had the pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes. 🤤 She had beef bourguinon and a side of green vegetables. 🤤 enjoyed with a bottle of Spanish white wine. The food was served with impeccable timing and was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was very busy so I was quite surprised by the speed of service. The service from the staff was beyond reproach. I would recommend a visit if you're in the area. We will definitely be visiting again.

We went for breakfast on a rainy Saturday morning. We were really so it was quite quiet. The service was prompt and the food was fantastic. It got busier whilst we were they bit the service was still as good.

Cannot fault the food Cotè has never let us down, steaks were really very tender and tasty. It was busy but we were squeezed in despite not booking and were looked after well by the service team.

Been to Cote Blackheath for a few months now and the staff are so friendly and polite. They welcome you with open arms and cater to all your needs. Their food is amazing and tastes phenomenal. It is also situated perfectly for a good view both inside and out. Would highly recommend.

To whom it may concern I’d like to make a note of our experience recently at the restaurant Cote Blackheath on Friday 25th August 2023 where I took my Niece and her Mother visiting from overseas for dinner. As a resident in Blackheath and a regular diner at Côte, I found my recent experience not up to the usual standards! While most of our meal was good my Mussels were soo tiny and tasteless, they should have been reported to the Fisheries for being undersized! And as for the waiter who brought us the bill, and threw the tray with the bill down in the middle of the table with no thought as to the fact that I was entertaining my guests, was it that we were a table of women only? And then to make matters worse he duly announced to all that I needed to inset my card into the machine as the bill was over £100…!!!! This he did from the other side of the table which meant that my guests were made aware of the cost of our meal… what an affront!!! He needs to learn some manners please! I will think twice about dining at Cote next time I decide on treating my guests to dinner in Blackheath! Thanks all the same Bryoni Hunter Dawson

Food is very bad, overcooked steak, very wet over dressed salad, £4.50 for 10 warmish green beans.... Honestly, don't bother!

Everything about the restaurant was amazing, the staff, the services, not to mention delightful meal. We will definitely be back.

Quality has gone down here . Crab starter was packed with avocado and mayo and the crab couldn’t be detected . More like shop bought tuna mayo! Grit in the accompanying salad didn’t help. Dauphinois potatoes served with pork belly (which was cooked well) were extremely dry. Told the team member serving us who grumpily took them away and brought them back - after I’d finished the rest of the dish now more like a cold potato salad. Not good .

Waiting staff should probably focus on waiting effectively rather than playing wingman for other staff towards visitors of the restaurant. My partner was bothered on 3-4 separate occasions for ‘their number’ despite declining 3-4 times… Disappointed it came from a female staff member too - for another staff member with no self awareness. See you this Sunday 🙂 Food was good but experience could’ve been better.
