We always going down there from Eltham to eat sushi Such a goood quality . Love them

Quality food and efficient service. Had the duck udon, miso (which was excellent) and some sushi which was also first class. From the outside the place looks more like a Deptford hardware store than a Japanese eatery but all in all definitely worth a visit.

I ordered chicken yakisoba. They are using cheap quick-cook spaghetti pasta instead of authentic noodles. Nuff said.

No frills Japanese restaurants with lots of choices at a good price. They do take card now but have a 20p surcharge. I really likes the spicy prawn ramen.

It’s not the first time I’ve eaten here, and definitely won’t be the last. The best sushi in London I swear, always the perfect portion and the greatest taste, I’m living so far but when I fancy the best sushi it doesn’t matter if I have to take a long trip by bus to get here, I’m always glad to come back

First time here. I'm sold! The food is excellent; generous portions, beautifully presented, super reasonable prices. The people working are conspicuous to take space. The service is quick, efficiënt & understated. My wakame (there was more edamame than wakame to be honest) was (swear words) amazing! Beautiful to look at, range of tastes, textures & colours. I think the best salad I have EVER had. I took half home (my sis nabbed it)! I'll be back!

All the food except the tempura was great. Prawn tempura had way too much batter, and the meat felt rubbery. So taking a star off for that. Service was fast, and atmosphere was excellent as well - nice and quiet even though the place was full!

Good quality authentic ramen and gyozas. Well priced for London too. Eat in or are away. Decent little restaurant, if I'm back in the area I'll go again for sure. Had the spicy seafood with udon noodles, tastey broth and a good amount of food.

Been loads of times for a mix of Japanese and Chinese food. It has *always* been top notch and at really good prices. Very veggie (and non-veg) friendly. Highly, highly recommended. NOTE - IT'S CASH ONLY. Closest place to get booze is out of restaurant and turn right. Few shops to choose from, but Housewife's Cash and Carry is my go-to place.

Way overpriced. Paid 17£ for chicken yakisoba. The portion was regular-size and the food tasted very standard. Complete rip-off

Amazing presentation of food and excellent flavour too. Nice squishy sushi rice and plump biteable fish on top. A good selection of sushi, sashimi and a bento box were tried all of which were excellent. There is no photo of the Bento box sadly which was beautifully presented like the rest of our food. Portion sizes were generous and plenty for the three of us and I dont think we topped much more than £10 a head. The taste of the food was very good and equal if not better than some of the sushi chains in the UK. Portion sizes were larger than the the chains in the UK. Definitely an authentic tasty Japanese experience! The only down side with the food was not enough wasabi or ginger and not quite spicy enough for me. They were very allergy conscious which was reassuring. I adore sushi and Japanese food and hate to be excluded but I could eat the sushi with ease. I would have loved to eat other items on the menu too so just a little bit more allergy consciousness would be great such as making other dishes available to nut and seed sufferers. This isn't a restaurant it more resembles an authentic Japense sushi bar so it looks somewhere between a takeaway and a small but smart cafe. It is a lovely intimate and yet informal setting to have fun with friends, family or dates. It could be the pit stop you need before visiting the games cafe nearby.

M&D Japanese restaurant is located at the Deford High Street and with 3 minutes walk away from the train station, a very easy to find place. 👍 The chef and staff are friendly and always smiling, making everyone feels welcome and comfortable. 😃 What's more comfortable are the soft sofas and big tables, making the restaurant ideal place for evenings and weekends hangouts. 💓

10 out of 10!! I wish I lived closer but it doesn't stop me walking the longer journey to visit. Ever since my first visit i've been so in love with the tempura prawns for starters and pumpkin korroke curry for mains, that i've never tried anything else (yet) because it was SO delicious and at such an amazing price! I've seen someone else comment about the interior decor being "dated" but don't change anything about this place! This is what makes it unique! It's not the same as everywhere else. Was so over the moon when I felt assured that this business survived covid Thank you M&Ds!

We walked up deptford high street looking for somewhere to sit and eat and stumbled upon this place. Food was fantastic, sushi rolls are banging, katsu curry was unreal and the mrs really enjoyed her ramen noodles. Would highly recommend over any Wagamama anyday of the week.

The restaurant is a bit outdated and interior looks a bit lost. As an interior designer I would change the interior as soon as possible but THE FOOD is sooooo good and tasty. Try “76. Spicy Seafood Udon (King Prawn & Salmon)” amazing soup with right amount of heat and spice. Great place a a lunch and excellent for take away dining! I highly recommend!

Cheap, fast and cheerful Japanese-ish food. Not authentically Japanese, but who cares? It tastes good. I've been there a few times and I've never been disappointed.

Delicious and top quality sushi (ate in and only had sushi when I went). Definitely get your bang for buck and you can tell it’s all fresh produce. Quick and friendly service.

Ramen was not very much an automatic ramen I am used too, but just a chicken soup. It did not have the ramen stock but rather a see through broth and it was missing a ramen egg. I am afraid I was very dissapointed with my order.

I have no idea why the food I bought for takeaway looked completely different than on other reviews. The food is a massive disappointment. Garlic beef is a joke as I got like few pieces of saggy beef and some very bad looking salad. Portion size is impossible and I wonder if they would serve that in the actual place. Food in the restaurant was looking good so I have a feeling someone took advantage that I came and ordered takeaway not through the portal. Gyoza have no sauce and look nothing but off. Salmon sushi is okay but nothing special. Tempura salmon sushi is not eatable. Spend 24£ for something which goes to the bin.

Came here for lunch and had the pumpkin katsu curry lunch special with prawn gyoza on the side. The food is so amazing and now I can’t wait to try their sushi and come back as soon as possible! Really affordable prices, the restaurant itself is pristinely clean and staff lovely. We all had a laugh when I failed to use chopsticks for rice and had to use a fork *awks*. Really recommend

When I lived locally, their Pumpkin korroke rice and curry was a staple in my diet. Since I've moved, I always make it a point to come for lunch if I'm in the area😋 Service: staff are always friendly, food arrives quickly. Food: fresh, hot and delicious, always Atmosphere: quiet, chill and laid back. There's always seating available with people coming in for takeaways. Prices: very, very decent without compromising the quality. Especially their £5 lunch specials ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The best cheap Japanese food that you can get in Deptford! They have things that can sometimes be hard to find at cheaper Japanese places, such as Takoyaki, Udon soup, Chocolate Mochi, and creative sushi rolls. Love this spot!

Tasteful udon, great sushi, honest price

It is a great quality sushi and other Japanese food I have been several times and never disappointed. There is one small thing that would be good to improve especially now at the time of pandemic: take away plastic. Why not encourage people to bring their empty boxes back when they return for take away and give them mini discount. Otherwise superb!

My girlfiend and I fell in love with this place on our first visit and quickly became regulars. The restaurant offers a huge selection of dishes, with great vegetarian options too. The food always tastes so fresh and flavoursome - amazing value for money. Cannot forget the friendly and welcoming staff. Definetly worth a visit if you're in the area :)

Got horrible food poisoning from their takeout. Was vomiting from 4am till 2pm, it was so bad I was almost close to calling the hospital. Do your stomach and overall health a favour and don’t eat here.

I love M&D! There are so many Japanese kitchens with limited vegetarian options - who wants sushi with only avocado in it? M&D have a really delicious tofu katsu curry, or my favourite - sweet potato croquette katsu. The tofu sushi is AMAZING and the prices are so reasonable. Thank you M&D!

A shame this place doesn't have a toilet. Because it's got real restaurant potential. As it is, it's a takeaway with a VERY large and comfortable waiting space. Food was fresh and simple and authentic. I will give it another go at some point

Food was delicious and very cheap. Service was great and waiting times were not long at all. Sushi pieces are enormous, noodles run aplenty. Loved everything, only wish there was a wider selection of drinks

The staff there are extremely kind. I ate tofu udon soup and it was very filling and tasty. But usually I have tofu katsu curry which is also delicious.
