Truckles in London provided an exceptional experience during our recent work event. The venue, nestled in a charming location, offered a delightful blend of indoor comfort and outdoor ambiance. The buffet spread was diverse and delectable, featuring a variety of dishes that catered to everyone's tastes. From savory appetizers to gourmet mains and decadent desserts, each item was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. What truly set Truckles apart was their attentive table service. The staff were courteous and efficient, ensuring that every guest felt attended to throughout the event. They seamlessly accommodated requests and kept the tables well-stocked with drinks and refreshments. The outdoor setting added a unique charm to the occasion, allowing us to enjoy the pleasant weather while networking and socializing. The venue's ambiance was further enhanced by its cozy atmosphere and tasteful decor, creating a welcoming environment for our team gathering. Overall, Truckles provided a memorable experience with its delicious buffet, impeccable table service, and charming ambiance. It's an ideal choice for hosting corporate events or social gatherings in London, combining quality food with excellent hospitality.

I found Truckles while mooching around looking for somewhere to have a light late lunch one sunny afternoon after visiting an exhibition at the British Museum. Situated in one of those quiet squares off the main drag, this is one of several establishments offering food, a spin-off from a long established wine merchant, with tables in or outside. I’ve noticed that menus offering small plates and large plates has become a thing - great idea, suits me well. I opted for a smoked salmon tart - think those must have run out as I got slices of sourdough - with good smoked salmon, cucumber strips, and, a revelation to me, a lacing of chilli oil. Who’d have known this would be so good? I have, since I returned home, taken to sweet chilli sauce with my smoked salmon. I opted for a glass of Vinho Verde to accompany this - along with fizzy water - absolutely delicious - a perfect summer afternoon. All this, combined with very friendly service, led to a most pleasant experience which I hope to repeat before too long.

Absolute gem of a place! The wines are exceptional as you would expect from Davys Wine Bars & Restaurants. There were 42 of us booked in for a reunion lunch, which you would expect to cause the odd problem with serving etc. No need to worry. The staff are exceptional, and serving 20 odd steaks perfectly cooked is no mean feet! Every single one of us had the most fantastic afternoon, and we could not thank the owner and staff enough. A definite 5 stars!

Just held a private party here (about 140/150 people over course of day) and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. 1. Food (selection of small bites) was fantastic. I thought the price was reasonable for what was provided and it helps that they have their own kitchen and chef (some bars have to get outside catering) so food is included within minimum spend allowance. Good selection of vegetarian options included. 2. The space is amazing as it has sufficient indoor and outdoor space to deal with any weather. When the sun came out, guests moved outside to the large courtyard and commented it had a very European relaxed feel. In the later evening we moved downstairs for dancing. 3. Location is very central and easy to find/get to by public transport but also feels tucked away and hidden from the noise and bustle of central London. 4. Drinks were very reasonable / good value for money, if you buy wine by the bottle in particular and the drinks service was very good throughout the day and evening. We paid for most of the bar all day and was pleased with how far the budget stretched for so many people. 5. Service from Arran (manager) and the team and general communication was very good throughout, I felt like they were very focussed on making sure the day went well. Was very touched that we had a personal call from the chef days before the event to reassure us that everything was under control with food. Drinks came out quickly and the staff were attentive and responsive throughout. All in all, am delighted with the whole experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. A real hidden gem. Thank you!!

Food and drink prices are a little on the higher side unfortunately so I wont be making this our regular escape but occasionally we may drop in again if we're nearby because it seems like a calm place if you want it. Theres loads of more traditional boozer type pubs in this area with cheaper food prices that are just as good if not better than the burger and chips I ordered.

I used to drink here regularly but will not be going back. They preferred a group of 5 to stand up uncomfortably instead of allowing us to sit down until the group that reserved the table arrived. The drinks are very reasonably priced and service was terrific, which is hard in these covid times. The food (hot chips, houmous and flat bread, falafel, mixed olives) hot and delicious. So many eating places have closed down, so it's good to support one that is open. We were served promptly and with cheerfulness, the chef himself coming out with our food. The chips are first rate. The batter on the fish started well, but became a bit soggy towards the end of the meal. Still, I'm not going to complain, as everything was otherwise just what we wanted. Very conveniently located close to the British Museum, but tucked in a square, shielded from from the hustle and bustle of visitors and tourists. Comes with a small 'garden' (not much green there anyway), shared with other adjacent activities, as far as I understand. Very busy with professionals working in the area. Choice of beers is limited: I could only choose between lager and ale from the same brand, which was really disappointing. Beer was ok, but £5.40 for a pint is outrageous. I found the sign down the stairs leading to the toilet saying 'only gentlemen properly attired will be served' (or the like) kind of offensive. It's not uncommon in Britain to have signs and pictures nostalgic for the past, but this went far beyond and reminded me of that class-ridden society that Britain still is.

You would not accidentally see this hidden treasure in the heart of London. Tucked away just 5 minutes from the British Museum and Holborn Tube is Truckles of Pied Bull Yard - A pub with a generous outdoor space, perfect for drinking cool wine / beer on a summer's evening. The nibbles were well presented and full of flavour. The house wines more than acceptable AND, reasonably priced for central London. The service? The staff were fully stretched amongst all the bodies and, frankly, found it difficult to keep up with demand and all the empty glasses. There is not a lot of spare room when the crowd is at its peak. All in all, one of the nicest venues for summer drinking in all of London.

Tucked away behind the tourist traps surrounding the British Museum, this place is actually a little gem. It's called a wine bar but it does have other options. The draught beers on offer are Meantime and you can get a pale ale or London lager. The food is tapas and of very high quality. It's real strength is its outside area which is off the main road in a pretty square.

Great pub with great staff, especially Gwen who looked after us (group of 12 guys) so well. We sat outside in the garden which was lovely in the sunshine.
