Tru Street in Trafford

Quite possibly the worst food we have had. I don’t really wish to comment anymore as they still have a business to run.

i ordered the ribs, they where very bland. they messed up my mums order, TWICE! wont come back

Meats were burnt. All the food we ordered tasted the same, seems they just stuck all of it in the same fryer.

The price was a bit high, but the food was absolutely delicious—it truly made my weekend! I was amazed by the quality of their dishes. We ordered the share meal and two kids’ meals. However, there was a small mistake with the kids’ meal—they forgot to include the wings that were supposed to come as a side. When we brought it to their attention, they quickly apologized and provided the missing food. In the end, the highlight was their incredible food. I would highly recommend giving them a try for their amazing meals!

I visited here today with my Daughter and Granddaughter. We really enjoyed our food. Lots of variety and the child portion was big. The lady who served us was very friendly and efficient . Would definitely return.

The barbarian platter for 44.99 pounds even not spicy it was sweet and 70 percent is chicken and half cooked couple of lamb chops we have told member of the team but he ignored us and we brought 60 precent of food with us thought we can add some spicies at home and make it more spicy and make bit better.

The worst food I’ve ever ate, looks nice but tastes awful. Literally smelt like sick, litrally. God awful

Amazing food, big portions and good prices!

Don’t bother…. Just left this restaurant. I will say they gave us half off two mains however we didn’t eat any and now have to go eat elsewhere. Horrible chicken, had no flavour, waffles were dry and tasteless. Fries undercooked though we ate them as that was all we could eat. Will never go back. What a waste. Could be really cool but it’s rubbish. Should really have not had to pay for any food as it was so poor.

the food was amazing i ordered the Brooklyn burger and it was massive only £12.99 too. portions are huge for the price and was really tasty would recommend!!! 😊

Last night, we went on a date night adventure to Tru Street Restaurant, where the revamped halal menu promised to take us from the bustling food trucks of the USA to the vibrant hawker stalls of Asia. The restaurant is currently being refurbished, but it still looked good, with a laid-back feel that worked for a night centered around hearty street food. Before we even ordered, our server brought out a bowl of complimentary spicy popcorn. Light, crispy, and with just the right kick, it set the tone for the evening. Our server, attentive and genuinely enthusiastic, introduced us to their house limeade – a special, off-menu creation that they insisted we try. The drink was a refreshing surprise, perfectly balancing zesty and sweet flavors, making it the ideal palate cleanser for the intense flavours ahead. Our first main course was the Texan BBQ Baby Back Beef Ribs. Picture ribs smoked for five hours over hickory and mesquite wood, with a dry rub that smelled of spices as rich as the Texas landscape. When we took our first bite, the beef practically fell off the bone. Every bite was infused with a deep, smoky essence, reminiscent of classic Texan smokehouses but done with an evident finesse and attention to detail. The ribs came with a side of curly fries, crispy and perfectly seasoned, alongside an unexpectedly refreshing onion and mint salad, which cut through the richness of the ribs beautifully. Next up were the Crispy Boneless Buttermilk Chicken Pieces – marinated for a full 22 hours in a blend of 12 different herbs and spices. Each bite of chicken was an explosion of flavour and texture: crunchy on the outside, juicy, and tender on the inside. Served over a bed of their signature salt-and-pepper curly fries and topped with their New York Halal Boys endorsed white sauce, this dish packed both nostalgia and innovation, capturing flavours from both American and Middle Eastern street food. And with two sauces – the Pan Asian BBQ and the Angry Bird sauce – on tap, we had endless ways to mix, dip, and customise each bite to our liking. Our server was knowledgeable and went out of her way to recommend and describe menu items. The chef himself came over to present our mains, showing a clear pride in the craft and care that went into every element. Tru Street is a halal restaurant, and it’s clear they’re dedicated to high-quality, expertly-prepared dishes. Tru Street exceeded our expectations. It’s not often that a restaurant can bring together diverse street food traditions and make them feel authentic yet elevated. The new menu is a journey for the senses, with each dish telling a story. We left with full stomach's, a new appreciation for street food from around the world, and every intention of coming back to try more.

*IGNORE ALL THE BAD REVIEWS* Tru street is a gem of a restaurant. Many restaurants that have a menu as diverse as the street’s always fail to have tasty dishes that is why the phrase quality over quantity is usually used in regarding to restaurants. However Tru street is completely different and so far every dish that we have tried from there has been delicious and very flavoursome. My personal favourite is the crispy chilli beef but warning to those who like mild food, this isn’t a dish for you! Instead I would also recommend the dumplings in the masala sauce for starters, or the Atalanta chicken. I have also been told that the drunken duck noodles and the Tru barbarian are also very tasty. The place is also great value for money! The portion sizes are substantial. They also accommodated my peanut allergy very well and made sure to: thoroughly check the ingredients of each dish ; to carefully point out which dishes I should avoid and alternatives they could give to me if I still wanted to order a dish which contained peanuts. I highly recommend eating a tru street when you come to the Trafford centre. It is a nice change compared to other restaurants and each time I visit I try something new as I know that each of their dishes will delight my tastebuds!

I tried this restaurant for the first time today after seeing a lot of TikTok videos recommending this place. The girl that served us ‘Taz’ was amazing. The food was nice but not as good as I expected it to be.

I have a rule that I went against. If a place does too many types of cuisine then it probably doesn’t do any of them well… this was very true. The menu tries to do too much and what you get is very average food. The young Asian man that served us was very nice though. But I won’t be back…

Went for a family meal. I enjoyed my beef ribs. The family enjoyed it. t The portions were OK. Was wheelchair accessible.

The food is nice, service was very slow, had to ask several times for sauces and and took nearly 40 minutes to get food, i think they are really under staffed.

First time trying this new food place. Overall great food, very tasty, and staff were very welcoming and friendly. only down fall was my partners food and the starter came out first and mine followed 5 minutes later but was still very nice. Will definitely recommend and will be coming back ☺️

Food is incredible and great service! Portions are large and filling. But the overly loud rap music makes it difficult to hear each other and enjoy the atmosphere, a mix of genres would have been nice.

The food was sooooo goooood!!! I have never NEVER had a lamb chop that tender and so well seasoned. The jerk chicken was 👌🏾, even approved by my mother who knows her seasoning!

Meal in poorly designed wooden box with paper under the food. Difficult to get a knife and fork in. Not a big fan of poorly designed table ware used soley for its appearance. They then added a service charge to the bill without asking. Wouldn't go again. Flat breads were good mind.

The food was unappealing and dumped onto my wooden tray. I had the hoisin duck noodles they looked llike they'd been taken out of the bin. I left them and had to pay a £4 service charge for the privilege.

The worst place I've eaten in the trafford centre , jerk wings smelt rotten , the crispy wings were far from crispy and soaked in oil , undercooked fish and frozen prawns from a packet

The service was painfully slow, and despite asking three times for water for my child, no one bothered to bring it until after we had already finished our dinner. This was completely unacceptable and ruined the entire experience.

Poor food quality, I’m reported by email but nobody responds….

The service was great lovely staff members, we ordered salt n pepper chicken, chicken n prawn noodle and Nepalese momo. Everything else was great however the Nepalese momo wasn’t great at all as a Nepal myself the momo wasn’t even 1% close to being Nepalese momo. Like the name of this dish should be changed from the menu.

Disappointing! 45 minutes wait for the food and quality wasn’t good at all, it wasn’t worth it. You can have the better food in trafford centre with this price.

Seems to be a common thread,12.5 percent stealth tax...?/service charge. Why are you trying rip people off in these times where some people are struggling to pay their bills. As in most places, a tip is optional. Not added to your bill automatically, Rude, Obnoxious and down right sly...refuse to pay this if you go.. Caveat Emptor... I

Went Monday evening and was really impressed. The food was really tasty and delicious. So many dishes to choose from. We all decided on the 3 Hawkers (smaller bowls aka small plates) and that was well more than enough. All the staff were really friendly and accomodating (I'm in a wheelchair so it can be difficult in some places that aren't too big). It's a shame that there's the hoarding up near there for the new part of the Orient as that makes it look like you've walked into the ends of the Trafford Centre, but that's not their fault. We will most definitely be back when we next visit.

Food was pink I ordered the Alabama strips it wasn’t nice and not cooked properly . Service is bad don’t get me wrong staff are nice just not attentive at all was awaiting ages for cutlery and they have food but had to walk off and get my own fork

Came in Here at 9:45 was told if I ordered quick before 22:00 I could order at 22:10 my food arrived before I even put one mouthful in my mouth I was told too pay.. totally unacceptable ruined the meal.. So lost my appetite sue to this £20 meal what a joke
