I am from Arizona, but I served a Mormon mission here back in 1980 and this was the one place that had the best burgers in the world better than any that I have in America. And so literally I’ve been coming back for 43 years to this same place and same location. Their hamburgers and onion rings are second to none. And the lady that’s been serving us has been there 27 years, that’s crazy. When we bring my kids over and grandkids this is their favorite stop, we purchase takeout and then we walk across the street to the picnic tables and enjoy the best burgers around.

Absolutely the Best Burgers you will ever taste! Always make a point of nipping in for lunch, if in Altrincham. My Sons, love them, & have even requested one be brought home to Warrington, if they know I'm nearby.....! The Staff are fantastic, & friendly. Pop in for a cheeky Flame Grilled Burger, if in Altrincham...! It would be rude not too..! 💙😎💥

I haven’t been here for a while but called in last night and there was a young girl serving who didn’t seem that interested in her role, I placed my order of approximately £40 and all seemed good till I got back to my car to eat where I found that one of the burgers was not to my order. I went back in and explained to the girl that it was wrong and she got very confrontational with me saying it’s what I ordered and I then explained it wasn’t but she was having non of it. They changed what was wrong eventually but only added one patty to a burger rather than re cook the whole burger which was wrong and then the food was awful anyway. I don’t know if this has changed ownership but I will not be returning here and I’ve been coming to this for at least 30yrs.

Ate alot when I worked at the solicitors down the road, gorgeous food friendly service, miss having it for my lunch and all the staff at my old work who were all on weird diets, saying how nice and good it looked / smelt! 😂 I don’t live too far from Canadian charcoal pit so visit is pending! 😋😍

This place has no right calling itself a Canadian "takeaway" there is nothing Canadian about this place other than its crudely renamed menu. You can have yourself a "Canadian Pizza" described as having cheese and tomato or the "La Canadienne" which consists of a burger withe cheese. They don't do Poutine for God's sake. Please rename your kebab shop

I don't know if this place has changed hands recently, but the quality of the hash browns is appalling. Burgers are still great, thank goodness.

I had a burger. It was ok.... I couldn't recommend it unless you're drunk and the patties were suspiciously gristly considering it was the premium "steak" burger. I asked for salad and didn't get asked if I wanted sauce so it didn't occur to me until too late. A £7 burger would normally have some sauce in as standard? Also a strange sign saying "this is the only The Canadian Charcoal Pit in Altrincham or Sale". Technically true but there is a "Canadian Charcoal Pit" in Sale which I think is a similar standard so take your pick. In fact, the only "The Canadian Charcoal Pit" with an online website is in stalybridge and has all the same menu but at much cheaper prices (current website because you can order online to pick up) so I can't help but think this isn't part of that chain either. Very odd flex either way.

The burger was very good. The fries were fully cooked, but I prefer them to be cooked a little longer, to make them a little more brown or even more crispy. The staff was friendly and the service was great. However, there are no tables to dine in. Everything is either delivered or takeout.

I have been coming to this place for years since 1995. I live in Northwich and stop at the handy roadside pull in near the church to eat heading home. Always cooked fresh to order. Red hot, crispy and tasty. I have the same thing but other meals look inviting. la Canadian, onion rings and chips. Big portions value for money.

My family has been coming to this place for years. It is a tradition among our family. There is something for everyone. Great food and at a great price

Brilliant used to get supper after going to the ice rink, real food good taste good price, something to really get your teeth into and enjoy, brilliant for a traditional charcoal grill that has been going for 53 years…! and just as enjoyable today as it even been 👌👍

Been going here for as long as I can remember, introduced to the place by a good friend of mine. If you are in the area I suggest you call in and try their monster burger, you won't need to eat for a week. Look forward to the next trip!

Use to come to the pit a lot when I was younger and not a lot has changed the food was nice. There was a lot of things they didn't have available though so had to have a plan b

Thought the food here was ok. Nothing special. It was cooked fresh right in front of me but it was a little slow.

Been going here on and off for 20 years. Still great and a fast and tasty option for burgers, pizza etc. It's a shame they don't open on a Sunday any more but they are still good for a late night snack. Not to be confused with the Canada Grill in Altrincham centre.

Great burger for the price and plenty of it! Friendly service and open until late. Choice of steak (slightly more £), beef or chicken burger. Range of toppings, sauces, relishes and salad. Kebabs, hot dogs and pizza also sold. Lunchtime meal deal available too.

Not bad people it really fa short sometimes.. Frequently don't have half the menu on offer and are closed today when they're supposed to be open.

Great service and food, love going in there, there's no where to sit as it is just a takeaway but I don't mind that, I'd rather go home with it. Good news is that it's open for dinner from about 12:00

Excellent food great value for money

Working in area with public. I asked where is good to eat this place name come up several times. I went in joined the queue which I thought was a good sign. Then asked what was recommended. The lady behind counter recomended double cheeseburger with fries. The fries was plentyfull and nice but the burger was huge and lived up to local comments. Clearly just a double cheeseburger but the simplicity of this was simply awesome. This come to £5.20 which I would happily pay again. Good job guys

Excellent staff, and food is totally what you would be pleased to receive from a grill. Never disappointed.

There was me bigging up the babs up North. He seemed ok with it but I was disgusted by the grease, slime and rubbish sauces/garnishes. Sort it out, rudeness and sub-standard babs are not an option!

Cold, damp and smells. The counter had that uninhabited smell. Not helped by the fact that nobody came out to serve me. Whilst I waited it gave me chance to look over the counter. Yuk! I would not want my food prepared there. Plus this place can not be taking enough orders to properly get through before it's out of date. I wouldn't buy a plastic bag from here. Close it down.

Might seem a bit pricey but you are getting what you pay for! Never had the pizzas here but I've tried everything else and it's excellent.

The staff made me feel unwelcome when we asked for salad for one burger, this theme continued when we wanted mango sauce for a kebab. I feel that these are normal requests in a food establishment. I feel like these are normal requests for a paying customer. Make your own opinion trip advisors

Canadian charcoal pit has just opened new takeaway in Eccles, Manchester M30. Thought we'd give it a try as half price offers on. My god, what can I say......Awful, just awful! Never again

Just had to write up a review for this place coz it's amazing, forget the slop at McDonald's or the rip off prices at Burger King, this place is affordable & delicious, the Monster Burger is defo the food of the gods & to top it off all the toppings u want, make it all the more special, defo gonna work my way through this tasty menu coz once you go Canadian Charcoal Pit you'll never go anywhere else again.

I've been here numerous times but never reviewed it. I honestly cannot fault the place. The burgers are cooked to perfection, fresh Barmcakes and absolutely loads of toppings, as much as you want! I'd recommend it to anyone. So much choice and the staff are always welcoming as well.

If you are after a nice burger then go, food wise it is cracking. 👍🏻 if you also would like to be spoken to correctly, then I would say pass and go somewhere else..

Hadn't been to the Charcoal Pit in years, since our kids were small and where they always insisted on getting their tea from on their way back from swimming! It has, clearly, seen many iterations since we were last there but the basic formula is still exactly the same with a wide range of grilled, stone-baked or fried options. The service may be a little lacking in connection but the half pound burger with mayo and onion is still one of those things that I would go back time and time again for when the need requires me to. Still a reasonable price for something that hasn't changed in more than 20 years!

The worst take away I have ever had! The food was disgusting and the service was terrible! I'd never go again! When I was in there someone else had had to come back because they'd got their order wrong, it is a dump!

Esto es acertadamente denominado "hoyo" y no puedo decir que no estoy de acuerdo. No puedo ver como el del "Canadian entra en él, pero no lo tiene. El servicio y la comida horrible horrible. Probé el bocadillo de la carne, que era exageradamente y bastante insípido. La señora que me sirvió parecía como si quería volver a casa. Las horas Esperando eran largas como bien aunque sólo había yo y otra al cliente. No lo recomendaría.

Loved their burgers, price was brilliant as well. Definitely better then MCD's. Staff could be a bit more friendlier and crack a smile from time to time. Excellent choice of menu. Would come again

I tried going to the Canadian Charcoal Pit a few months ago, I always get chips and pizza! The food tastes AMAZING, they have loads of garnishes and sauces to go with burgers. The fries take a bit of a while, but definitely worth waiting for!! Will definitely go there again!

Quite simply knocks your McD's and BK into insignificance. Food cooked superbly and your choice of garnishes on the burgers made to your requirements.

You can keep the cheaper knock offs, The Canadian Charcoal Pit is the ORIGINAL and THE BEST. Everything from here is delicious and well priced. I have never had a bad experience eating here ..... Try them, they're good !!

This place has been the same since I started going whilst at school, 12 years ago.. EXCELLENT burgers. The lady who works these is very pleasing and prices are very reasonable. 10 out of 10!

Could do with handing out serviette, its a messy burger. But still the best around.
